Cecil Changes CHPT 4: The Reunion

Hey guys, sorry it took so long! i've been uber busy lately, and literally just finished exams yesterday, so yea. but it's finally here! enjoy people!

  • * * As he walked home, Cecil thought about what had just happened. The girl who he had bonded so strongly with, and done so much with had cheated on him! Worst off, it was with his friend Matt. That meant that Matt could not be trusted anymor either. Cecil kicked a rock, walking and thinking about who would accept him now, a lonely freak in a regular human high school, now that the other only people to have been changed had started to form cliches. He realized nothing had really changed; he was a loner before the change, and a loner he was going to be now. When he got home, he went straight up to bed. Walking up the stairs to his room, he met his happy little sister, May, cheerfully humming some recent TV program theme. However, when she saw the sad look on his face, she stopped, and adopted a much more serious face. "What's wrong Cecil?" she asked innocently. "I just got duped by the only girl to have ever accepted me, and worst off, she left me for my best friend!" he replied angrily. "Awwww I'm sorry brother! When I'm sad, i just curl up with a nice book, maybe I can lend you one?" At the thought of his baby sister lending him some of the books she was reading, probablly from her fifth grade class, he grinned slightly. "I'll be ok sis, I just need some time alone to think. After that, he went to bed, and immediately fell into a horrible nightmare, in which he was put to repeatedly watch his best friends yiffing each other, unable to turn away, or stop them from embarrassing themselves, hurt at the idea of everyone ignoring him and leaving him to his own devices. He woke in the middle of the night, finding himself crying and curled up in a tight ball, wanting just a hug or some form of affection. Moments later, his mother walked in, flipping on the light. "I heard you from the other room Cecil. Are you alright, honey?" his mom asked sweetly, completely oblvious to the great, sharp pain her eldest son had just had to relieve, his imagination amplifying it to ten times worse. In response to her comment he just nodded, then rolled over, pretending to fall back asleep. Several minutes later, the light was flicked back off, and he heard her walking back down the hall to his parent's room. * * *

As he trudged off to school the next morning, he sighed, walking to the bus and getting on, looking at all the younger faces, people gawking at his muzzle and dog like fur. He sat down in the nearest seat, and stared straight ahead, aware that all eyes were on him. When he got to the high school, things were even worse. Even the other people who had changed were staring at him, sneering and snickering as he walked all alone now, when days before he had had a 'female companion', who now was nowheres to be seen. When he got to his locker, his stomach flipped. There stood Ashley, with his locker open, pulling her things out, avoiding the eyes of everyone who passed by. He sighed, and approached her, only to see Matt walking towards her from the other side. He ducked into a nearby alcove just in time to see him leaning over her to kiss her, his large muscles visible through the tight white tshirt, accenting his silky gray fur, as it shimmered in the florescent lighting of the hallway. He helped her to gather her things, then walked off, presumablely to his own locker. Cecil cautiously walked to his still open locker, hanging up his backpack and jacket, sighing while trying to hold back the tears. She was really gone. No longer would she be hanging off HIS arm, kissing HIS lips, but instead, Matt's. He ducked his head into the closet, sniffling and rubbing his eyes, trying to wipe up the tears even as they formed. Suddenly, he felt a warm hand on his back, and turned around, looking into the eyes of Irdar, his friend from junior high, like usual, a skateboard under one arm. "You gonna be ok, bro?" the skater asked, a look of sincere worry in his eyes as well. Cecil sighed, turning around again to finish grabbing his books for first period. "I think so, it's just gonna be hard to adapt to not having her around to help reassure me." Cecil replied. "Dude, I got that, I mean, that was harsh of Matt, stealing your woman and all." Irdar gave him a thumbs up. "But cheer up man, there are tons of other babes at this school, it shouldn't take you too long to find another!" Cecil glared at him, outraged at how easily he deflected the pain that he could not possibly begin to understand. He slammed his locker shut, storming off to his class. When he got about halfway there, he sighed, and started to turn around and go back to appologize, realizing that Irdar was only trying to help, and it wasn't his fault that he didn't understand. However, the bell rang, and he sprinted into class, late, as the teacher caught him, landing him a detention for the following Monday. He sighed, thinking about how this week could not possibly get any worse, from finding the girl of his dreams, just to have her ripped away by his best friend, and now, detention. * * *

The rest of the day went a little better, as he moved from class to class, avoiding any hallways he knew Ashley usually used. Irdar had 4th period with him, so he was able to appologize to the skater, and they chatted a little more, and decided to go hang out at the mall after school, maybe pick up some chicks and a movie too. As the last bell of the day rang, Cecil rushed from the building, and into the parking lot, finding Irdar waiting his sleek, red Camero. With some cool shades on, he opened the door, and bowed, before cackling like an idiot, and chucking his stuff into the back seat. Cecil hopped in up front, and together they drove to the mall. * * *

When they arrived, it was sheer chaos. No place to park, and even worse, their favorite eatery, The Blue Cafe was closed for a small case of food contamination. This sparked Cecil interest for a few moments, remembering what the goverment agents had said about the food in the school cafeteria, and the fact that the scientist was still on the loose. They kept walking, heading towards the theatre. As they walked into the lobby, they spotted a pair of girls a blonde and a redhead, arguing about what movie to see. Irdar walked over to them, a sly look on his face, leaving Cecil to stand alone for a few moments. After some conversation, and many fingers pointing his way, accompanied by some skeptical glances, the girls followed Irdar back, one on each arm, until they reached Cecil, at which point the redhead moved over to Cecil's arm and looked at him for a few, before shrugging, and clinging close to him as they approached the ticket booth. "Four tickets for The Dark Knight, please." Irdar asked politely. As the lady at the booth handed them to them, they headed over to the entrance to the theatres. Once inside, they paired off, heading in opposite directions. After the movie, they headed out to McDonalds, then Irdar drove them all home. When Cecil got home, it was around 10:00 PM, so he figured he had some time to play around on his computer for a bit. After some random internet ramblings, he got an idea to google furs, and see a little bit more of some of the stuff that might relate to him. Apparently, furries, or Furs as they were sometimes called, actually were interesting. He spent some time perusing the sites before coming accross a forum, started up in the past week, which was entitled Anthros of America. He decided to join it, and after some more skipping from topic to topic, one caught his eye, a disscussion about biological research into growing furs from human cells. He read it, and some of the things made sense, such as the generalized talk about things that would be cool to have done to you, but some of the more complex stuff, such as biological formmulas and genetic talk about how hard it would be in reality. But what he got from it, was that it was true: the government was trying to replicate furs, and he himself was a prime example. He sat back, stunned, from what he had just read. The scientists were in a facility called Animorse which was thought to be hidden somewhere in northern Colorado, and were on a secret project. OTher than that, not many details were available, and he was going to search for this mysterious building in google, but he yawned, and looked at the clock realizing it was 3 in the morning! He turned his computer off, and hopped into bed, wroght by another night of the endless nightmares.
