#2 of Distant Light ~ Story

Well here's the first chapter! Not exactly how I had it before, but at least it was mostly whole... I had only changed a few sentences and paragraphs before losing it all, was lucky enough that I had sent this to someone via email so it was still available to me! I've made a few edits here and there, but reading through it, I can't quite remember exactly what I had changed, so this'll have to do for the time being..

I hope it's an enjoyable read, at the very least. I'll be working on re-writing the second chapter now... I was thinking it needed something different than I had anyway, so it sorta works out in a weird way.

This chapter contains general nudity, some slightly embarrassing moments, some violence to a degree, implied abduction, and a lot of stuff that I'm far from an expert on, I just write what sounds accurate in my head! (that being said, suggestions for improvement/critique is welcome)

Chapter 1

~Abduction~

Cold... Everything felt cold. His body was numb when he tried to move. Bright flashes of light would shine blindingly whenever he opened his eyes, unable to adjust and only barely able to make out even the faintest shadow of figures standing around him. Was he laying down? The cold, hard surface beneath him...metal? Where was he? Meekly attempting to open his eyes again, he glimpses another shadow; this one holding something. A small, slim object with a bright sheen off its upper edge as the light above him glared over everything ceaselessly. The fox groaned and tried to move, though his arms wouldn't respond. He noticed something tight around his wrists when he tried again, only vaguely able to feel what must be restraints of some kind. In an attempt to lift his head to look around, he found that it too was fastened in place by something. Muffled voices sounded around him, frantic... Hurried and confusing to his ears, the buzzing and ringing in his head nearly deafening. "Cintova kesh de ma!" someone close yelled, another further away calling back. "Ame kirose, drekta amas!" A sharp prick in the side of his neck quieted the voices and ringing, followed by some kind of apparatus being placed over his muzzle; a sweet scent quickly filling his lungs as all the voices and light faded along with his consciousness...

***

Several dreamless hours passed before he woke. He took a deep breath and tried to move, finding that his arms were no longer bound. Lifting both paws, he tenderly felt over his face, unsure of himself as nothing seemed familiar. Smooth, slim features; a narrow muzzle and soft fur, short whiskers - recently trimmed? His nose-pad felt cold as his digits brushed across the top of it. He curiously sniffed the air and his paws - no familiar scents either. The air seemed stale and dry. The fox slowly brushed his paws back and felt over his still closed eyes; nothing seemed wrong, at least... albeit not knowing what would be right didn't help him much in determining that. But nothing hurt, so there was that. He felt through the short bangs of his hair as his paws moved around to the back of his head; pausing briefly to feel over his soft, slightly rounded ears when they twitched and flicked against his paws. Short hair... Probably recently trimmed as well. He sighed and carefully let his arms rest back at his sides, only then noticing that what he's laying on now seemed much softer and warmer than the previous thing had. He opened his eyes slowly, grateful that whatever bright light had been there was gone now, though everything still seemed fuzzy and unclear... The fox blinked a few times, taking deep breaths and carefully pushing himself up to sit, groaning softly as the new position stretched his back and legs. They felt tense and a little sore, though an oddly comfortable ache at the moment - glad to feel something other than the nothingness that seemed to be surrounding him. Staring down into his lap, his eyes slowly began to focus on the slate-colored sheet covering him, vaguely accentuating his figure beneath. He groggily looked around the room again, everything else only slightly clearer now, though enough to tell that he was alone and the main lights seemed to be off. The fox huffed and pushed the sheet off, swinging his legs over the edge of the apparent bed in order to get up, though gritting his teeth as his head spun from the motion. He braced his paws on either side of himself and dipped his muzzle in against his chest, breathing slow and deep until the feeling subsided.

"Mmmnh...c'mon body...time to get up." he mumbled faintly aloud, slowly and carefully pushing himself up to stand; keeping hold of the bed for now to stay balanced. Something else seemed to help with that though, just then noticing the rather fluffy appendage extended from the base of his spine behind him. The instinctual movements it made to help balance him were a little disorienting when he paid attention to it, causing him to stumble and lean against the wall for better support. "This'll take getting used to..." He sighed and just used the wall to brace himself, stumbling along it until he eventually happened upon an inlaid mirrored surface.

The fox's eyes had seemingly adjusted by now, not that he recognized the figure standing in his reflection. Stark white fur covered his body from muzzle to tail-tip, at least as far as he could tell in this dimly lit environment. Canting his head, the fox glanced over his bare form; following the soft coat of fur from his neck downward until his eyes came to linger upon his abdomen. Sections of fur seemed to have been shaven there, the flesh and toned underlying muscle more visible in those places, though there was no explanation; no visible damage and no residual marks to indicate why.

Shaking his head, he lifted his gaze back up to his face, looking into the eyes of his reflection. His eyes seemed to glow faintly when he looked close; much easier to see the indigo hued orbs looking back at him than the rest of his body. He raised one paw from the wall to feel over his muzzle again, his expression detached if not confused. "Who are you..." He wandered aloud, musing over the puzzle that was himself. 'Fox comes to mind... though I'm not sure why. I hope that's not my name, that'd be awkward...' He jumped a bit when the light came on behind him, followed by the noise of a hydraulic door hissing open soon after. He found himself dropping down behind a stationary console to hide as footsteps sounded through the room - somebody padding in, though a makeshift wall separated him from whoever it was as he peaked over the edge of the console, unable to see where they had gone.

"Well hi there! I'm glad to see you're awake!" Came the excited voice of the stranger, startling the fox after coming in through a different part of the room. "Oh I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. I didn't think you'd be up by now though, after what you went through!"

"W-who are you? What am I doing here?" the fox replied hesitantly, still crouched by the console and backed into a corner between it and the wall.

"Oh no... You poor thing, you don't remember? Well that just wont do! I'm a doctor though, so you can relax ok? My name's Etnia, I'm a medical officer." the stranger - a mouse by the look of her - tried to alleviate some of the fox's tension, though stopped moving closer at seeing him not opening up. Instead, she just moved over and sat lightly on the bed, patting the spot next to her trying to encourage the fox to come over.

"Et...Etnia...? Where am I? Can you answer me please?" The fox asked in as calm a manner as he could manage, his heart racing in his chest.

"Of course I can, but I need you to come back over here and lay down ok? You shouldn't be out of bed yet. I can help if you let me." the mouse stood and slowly padded over to the fox, proffering a paw for him to take, which he hesitantly accepted. She pulled his arm around her shoulders with surprising strength to better support him, giving her warmest and most comforting smile in attempt to ease the experience.

"S-so...why am I in here Et...er, doc..?" he splayed his ears - having forgotten her name - and looked away, sitting heavy on the bed once they reached it and she stepped back.

"Etnia...its alright. Doc works just fine if you'd prefer that for now, no worries! And you're in here because...Well, you were pretty seriously injured by an incident on the surface...you really don't remember?" She quirked her head in a worried expression, and held both her paws in front of her as she watched the fox squirm in place.

"I don't even remember my name doc... I...wait, the surface? Surface of what?" the fox asked in confusion, withdrawing further onto the bed now and pulling his knees up to his chest as he watched the mouse.

"The...surface. On the planet here? Its your home-world. We brought you up to our ship, since your people didn't have the technology or medicine to properly save your life... And since it was my crew's fault that... Well, that isn't important. You're alive and well! So that's all that matters." Etnia lifted one paw to the back of her head and gave a hesitant laugh, having said a bit more than she had meant to.

"What happened to me doc?" The fox asked, a little more frantic now from how she seemed to avoid elaborating. "My home world? Your crew? What's going on!"

"Hush! Hush now, its not time to explain that... You need to rest ok? Please? I promise, I'll explain, just not yet!" she came closer and encouraged him to lay down again, pulling the sheet back up over his form once he settled. "You just need to rest a bit longer...maybe it'll come back to you by then. For now, just stay here and rest. You're safe!"

Despite her assurance, he was still far from calm, though seemed able enough to pretend for now. "Can you...Do you know my name, at least...?" He asked with a faint whine in his tone, bringing a somewhat pitied expression from the mouse.

"Oh, let me look..." she sighed and moved over to the console he was hiding behind earlier, tapping on the screen a few times to bring up his file. "Lets see...It looks like...Kione. Does that sound familiar?"

"Mmmnh... maybe..." the fox sighed and closed his eyes, starting to get a headache while trying to think about it.

"It'll come to you." Etnia said with a smile, then turned and headed for the door, tapping a panel to turn the lights off. "Get some rest, I'll be back to go over things with you later." She left without another word, the door sliding closed behind her with a soft 'shnk'.

Kione - assuming that really was his name - sighed and closed his eyes, stretching out on his back. He had to admit he did feel rather exhausted still... While he did want answers, sleep was an enticing offer that he found increasingly difficult to ignore. Only a few minutes of introspective contemplation passed before he faded from consciousness and began to dream...

~ ~ ~

The fox felt himself drifting, surrounded by what he could only describe as an ocean of clouds. Everywhere he looked, soft white mist coated the air around him. A blanketing comfort, warmth bathed his fur as every part of him soaked in it's radiance. Kione wandered in no particular direction - no ground visible beneath his feet, no path to follow down. He let the faint breeze that rustled through his fur tell him where to go, guiding him to some place familiar as the fog steadily grew darker and heavier, faint hues of orange and green blossoming in the distance.

_He found himself standing before a sort of bunker, some kind of military personnel rushing from inside before jumping into their transports and quickly heading off down an unseen road. Kione decided to head inside rather than follow; the mist swallowing up the transports shortly after he moved toward the bunker door. He opened it slowly and slipped inside - immediately greeted by a stale, warm air that the heat of candles and a hearth on the far wall had filled the room with. The few others remaining curtly glanced up before returning to whatever they were busying themselves with, leaving the fox to do as he pleased. Kione sighed and found himself a seat at one of the few tables in the center of the room, stretching out and yawning as he settled into it - the warmth of the air making him feel tired rather quickly. _

He nearly jumped when someone burst in through the door, panting hard as he stared at everyone wide-eyed. "Get out of here! They're coming, dammit!" the newcomer yelled into the room, the sound distorted and faded by other noises flooding in through the door behind him. Kione could hear explosions outside, the strong scent of sulfur coating the air even miles away from the events... At least, it seemed as though it 'should' have been miles away - he couldn't remember seeing anything so close when he arrived, only the transports leaving.

"Who's coming? The battle isn't supposed to reach here!" someone else exclaimed, frantically moving to look out the door the other had come in from, the one who was now grabbing whatever he could off shelves and out of lockers - packing it all into a large sack.

"Well I guess the Frein didn't get that transmission!" the one gathering things up replied with a growl.

"The Frein don't have transports like that! What are you, blind?!" the one out the door yelled back inside, shortly before something struck him and threw him hard against the wall. Silence fell in the bunker as he slowly slid to the ground, paw braced against his chest where the shot had gone right through his armor, gasping as he struggled to breathe. A deep, menacing growl sounded just outside before another shot ended his suffering; his body falling limp, slumped against the door.

"W-what the...Fuck was that?!"one of the others still sitting inside fell out of his chair and scrambled back as a large figure stepped into view, its body took up the entirety of the door frame. Kione - who was equally surprised - stumbled backwards as he got up and ran for the back door with the others. That menacing growl filled the room again, drowning out even the other sounds from outside just before the hulking figure raised some sort of weapon and a faint gleam of light shot across the room before the door Kione was about to go through exploded, raining sparks and trails of smoke down everywhere and effectively knocking the fox to the ground from the concussive force. Kione coughed hard and rolled onto his back, his whole body ached and his ears were ringing loud, only just opening his eyes again before something struck him across the top of his head.

The dream faded and shifted there, snow-like points of light floating down out of nothingness as if the stars above were drifting, distorting and flooding the space of his mind. As he lifted his muzzle to look up, everything fell and settled into place, fading again though only just - a kind of warmth seeming to surround him again despite the cool snowy light.

~ ~ ~

He awoke gasping to what seemed like the whole room shaking after a series of beeps and tones sounded, the majority of the dream fading into the mist it came from within his mind. The mouse - Etnia - was sitting at the console and perked up at noticing the fox was awake again. "Wh...what was that?" Kione asked after the shaking subsided.

"Oh, that's just the ship jumping to FTL, nothing to worry about. Did you sleep ok?" she asked in return, her round saucer-like ears perked and pointed in his direction.

"Oh...I slept ok I guess. What's FTL though? I've never heard of anything like that." the fox perked his ears curiously and sat up.

"It stands for Faster-than-light, its just how we get around. We're heading back to where this ship comes from, is all." Etnia put rather simply, not knowing much more about it than that.

"Faster than... light... Wait, we're leaving the planet? I thought you said it was my home though! Shouldn't I be staying here then?" the fox quirked his head and furrowed his brow, feeling uneasy about leaving even if he didn't quite remember what exactly was being left behind.

"Well, it 'was' your home...given certain circumstances we decided it best for you to come with us though! You're so lucky! Its such a rare thing that we have guests. Your injuries have been mostly healed too, you'll just have to rest a few more days to be sure... Don't want you straining anything after I went through all this trouble to heal you, now do we?" Etnia smiled, though her tail kept twitching idly behind her, coiling around her leg occasionally - leaving the fox with an uneasy feeling in his gut.

Kione huffed and sat up on the side of the bed, looking around the dimly lit room - able to see better now than he had earlier. "I feel better...just a little sore still I guess. You still haven't told me what exactly happened though. When are you gunna explain things to me? You promised you would!"

"Look, just...Calm down, ok? I already told you more than I should have..." this time it was the mouse that squirmed in her seat, glancing over at the sealed door that was the only entrance - and exit - of the small room. "You're here, now. Neither of us can do much about that. So you might as well just relax and get as much rest as you can before we arrive."

"Arrive where?! You're making it sound like I don't have a choice here. Wait...I remember - I was tied down on some metal slab with shadows standing around me...What happened? Seriously, why was I tied down! What's going on here Etnia?!" the fox's heart was racing again, his breath quick on his tongue as the situation started to fall into place in his mind - even if nothing made much sense yet.

"You were tied down because we needed you to be still! The anesthesia wasn't working at first and you were struggling a lot considering your condition!" Etnia's ears splayed as she tried to explain; though realizing that she was losing control of him, she reached over and - as discreetly as she could - picked up a small medical spray she had previously filled with a sedative.

Kione shook his head and held both paws over his ears, looking down at the floor as he thought over what she was telling him. "Will you just... tell me what happened? What sort of condition was I in? And why?" the fox left his head in his paws as he asked her, eyes closed tight as he tried to remember.

Etnia stood and walked over to him, cautiously sitting beside him on the bed. She lightly rested one paw on his back between his shoulders, though still kept that spray clenched in her other paw - ready to be used. "I don't really know the specifics... just that you were injured, and brought up to us. All they said to 'me' is that something happened on the surface and you needed to be cared for. You had several thoracic and abdominal injuries, though. You've also suffered a rather severe concussion, you were unconscious when you were brought in and...given that you don't seem to remember...are suffering some level of permanent brain injury given the extent of your amnesia. We were able to repair the external wounds and the internal abdominal injuries, but the brain is still a very complex organ...even healing everything physically wrong doesn't guarantee there wont be lasting psychological trauma."

The fox flinched slightly at feeling her touch, though just sighed and let his paws drop into his lap as she spoke. He turned his head to look at her, appearing rather disheveled - his hair sticking up every-which-way between his ears from having both just woken up and hearing what she was telling him - his gaze unfocused. "Great... So you're saying I might never remember... I still don't think I should leave though. If this is my home, there might be someone here who can help?" he half perks his ears with a hopeful whine, though folds them back at seeing Etnia shake her head.

The mouse squeaked quietly as she spoke now, watching Kione closely. "We're already well out of that system by now... You were asleep for half a day, we've already jumped a couple ti-"

Kione stood abruptly and moved away from Etnia, interrupting her. "Why! I...I don't belong here, I don't even know what 'here' is! Why did you take me with you?! J-just take me back, I need to go back!" he barked at her as he moved across the room, leaning up against the wall for support as he began to pant hard, starting to feel dizzy. He growled and shook his head when he saw the mouse get up and start to come toward him, only then noticing the small object held so tightly in her paw.

Her ears were lain back against her head as she lunged for him, managing to apply the object against the side of his neck before he knocked her arm away. He slipped past her and bolted for the door with one paw held tight against the spot of the injection. "Wh..what'd you do to me...!" he growled again and whimpered, stumbling slightly and running into the wall next to the door as the sedative had already started taking effect. He looked for the panel he'd seen her use before, though is saved the trouble as someone outside opened the door instead and stepped in. As the guard entered, the fox decided to take the opportunity to slip out and run - though he truthfully had no clue where he was going - and shoved the big armored creature as hard as he could manage, knocking it into a nearby locker. He slipped out the door and found himself in a long corridor, dozens of other doors lining the opposite wall as the hall curved into a long arch in one direction, the other direction being a solid wall blocking his path.

Having only one way to go, Kione ran - as well as he could - down the corridor until he came upon a large open archway leading into some kind of storage bay, windows having caught his eye on the far wall and plenty of containers and barrels to hide behind strewn about the room. "Great, maybe I can escape through one of those..." he grunted, before hearing heavy foot-falls not far behind and ducking into the new room, slipping in behind some of the larger crates lining the inside wall. He jumped a bit as the archway suddenly closed behind him - fairly massive-looking doors now leaving him trapped, though seemingly hidden for now. The fox bit his lip to keep from whimpering, taking deep breaths as the sedative Etnia injected him with began to overpower the adrenalin coursing through his body - that dizzy feeling returning two-fold as he slumped back against one of the crates. He was panting as he lifted his gaze, eyes growing wide when he saw the spectacle just outside the windows. Bright shifting lights flowed by like a prismatic flame, and further out, streaks of light etched into the inky blackness. No land or water, not even sky.

"A-am I... really in space...?" he asked into the empty room, realizing that to be the only explanation for the sight through those windows. His hope of escape was quickly dashed as that realization hit him hard. Unable to tear his gaze away from the windows, he struggled to his feet and stumbled toward them, grasping the ledge tight in both paws to hold himself up as he stared out through the portholes. If it wasn't for the fact that he could plainly see other sections of the ship - and that shifting light flowing over every inch of the hull - he might have believed that he were simply underground somewhere... But no, he was definitely in space - On a kind of ship that he had never seen before traveling who-knows how fast away from whatever home he might have had. Leaning his head against the cool surface of the window, Kione closed his eyes and sighed deeply in distress. "I suppose this could be more difficult...if I could remember where I even come from...Who I am, for that matter. No home to miss. I'm relatively healthy, assuming Etnia was telling the truth about how I arrived here... 'course then she tried to drug me and detain me in that room. A guard waiting outside even! What am I supposed to do now though? I don't know anyone, I feel like a prisoner here... Aren't I? I don't have anything to compare to. For all I know I 'am' better off with them... of course if I wasn't a prisoner before, I'm sure they'll lock me in somewhere when they find me..." He growled in frustration as he argued with himself, not gaining any ground in figuring out what to do. He sighed again and just stood there, resolving to at least enjoy the view while he could.

***

Some time passed this way with the fox leaning absently against the window, looking out while stars rushed by and the ship remained engulfed in prismatic light. He was still feeling rather lethargic thanks to Etnia's injection, so he didn't move to hide when he heard the doors behind him slide open, nor upon hearing the sound of someone padding up to him - much quieter than the heavy foot-falls of what had been chasing him before. "You're not Feiroan..." the one behind him spoke in a deeper voice than his own, moving over to stand beside the fox, scenting the air curiously as he looked over Kione's form - his pale white fur, slim muzzle, larger more pointed ears and long fluffy tail much different from his own species, his body much more lean and less muscular in stature. "Well whatever you are, you're obviously not here willingly..." the wolf - ignoring his nudity - reached a paw out to rest on Kione's shoulder, ears splayed seeing no reaction or recognition to the touch. "Probably can't even understand me can you..." he sighed and looked back toward the door.

"Of course I can understand you... I'm just... so lost right now." The fox mumbled, flinching when he felt the wolf beside him jump at his words.

"Y-you speak Feiroan? How can you underst-" the wolf gasped in surprise, though paused as he looked closer over the fox's head, noticing how recently the fur had been cut and connecting the dots. "Oh... I see, they must have already done that to you... Unusual." he quirked his head and moved closer, sniffing faintly at the somewhat shorter fox's muzzle.

Kione furrowed his brow - somewhat irritated by how cavalier the wolf's intrusion of his personal space seemed to be - and moved away; leaning with his back against the wall as he watched the wolf, his own head canted slightly. "Done what? You're not with the ones who took me? Do you know why I'm here?" he asked a bit faster than he meant to, remembering that the last person he had talked to was less than helpful.

"Look, we don't have time for questions right now. I need you to come with me, the big guys are sure to notice us if we linger here." the wolf held out his paw for the fox to take, a frustrated growl emanating from his chest as the fox moved away instead. "I promise, I'll explain whats going on, but we have to get somewhere safer first alright?" he insistently reached to Kione again, who this time hesitantly took his paw and was quickly dragged toward the door.

The wolf halted mid-step, ears perked before being flicked to the side while he changed direction - heading toward what looked to Kione like an air-duct. "They're already coming back this way, we've gotta go through here instead." he explained and unhinged the screen, motioning the fox inside the relatively cramped space. "Hurry, I'll be right behind you!"

Kione groaned and crouched down, crawling into the duct on all fours, being rushed by the wolf who indeed slipped in directly after and - as quietly as he could - closed the screen behind them. Glancing back, he was immediately greeted by the wolf who gave a quiet growl and motioned with his paw for the fox to continue down the narrow tunnel. 'Great... go from one trap into another. How's it gunna turn out this time? Who knows what this guys intentions are... how did he find me anyway?' Kione thought to himself as he moved forward, only one direction to go at least - deciding to keep quiet for now in lieu of the much stronger looking wolf behind him pushing him on.

"Well now which way?" the fox grumbled as he glanced back again, stopping at a subsection of the tunnel.

"Left." the wolf grunted, motioning in the same direction with a nod of his head.

Kione sighed and gave a nod, continuing on down the left path. He started to turn back to look again as he heard the wolf say something else, but instead abruptly found himself falling down a sort of chute. He cried out in surprise as he fell for a few good yards before the gradient shifted into a slide and left him going head-first on his back into the darkness. He yelped as he exited the chute and stopped suddenly, crashing onto a fairly well-cushioned pad and laying there dazed for a few moments, trying to gather himself. He hazily looked back up into the chute he just fell out of before yelping again as the wolf flew out and landed directly on top of him, leaving the fox struggling briefly before he stopped moving. Kione huffed and blushed slightly as the wolf growled and looked up at him, face firmly meshed into the short fur of his abdomen and otherwise tangled in his tail and legs.

"I said 'Watch out for the drop'...! Maybe you don't understand Feiroan as well as I thought you do..." the wolf growled faintly again and carefully pushed himself up, untangling himself from the surprised fox.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't hear you..." Kione managed to reply, shaking out his fur and pulling his knees up to his chest while he watched the wolf.

"It's alright... You're not hurt, are you? We should be safe enough in here for now." the wolf sighed and rubbed the back of his head, glancing back at the shaken fox for a moment before turning to look for something.

Kione just shook his head, taking the moment to get a better look at his would-be captor. 'Or is savior more accurate...?' he wondered to himself. He took in the sight of the tall, dark furred - difficult to tell what color in the dim-lighting - bipedal creature standing before him, clad in a sort of jumpsuit that was decked out with armored plating on the shoulders and forearm - and as he turned, across his upper back as well. He noticed the wolf's tail was a fair bit shorter than his own - maybe half the length - ending just above his ankle-joint. The fox shook himself out again and leaned back onto the pad with a sigh, still watching the wolf as he moved over to some sort of container and sifted through its contents.

"Here." The wolf huffed as he tossed something to Kione, who caught it and let the somewhat rough fabric unfold in his paws. "Put that on, the others might not take as well to you not wearing clothes..." he mumbled the last part, pulling a makeshift chair out and sitting - facing the opposite direction of the fox to give him privacy. Kione bit his lip at hearing the wolf, giving a faint nod - even though the wolf had turned away - and proceeded to try and figure out what he was holding and how he was supposed to get into it...

The fox gave a resigned sigh after a few minutes of fumbling with the jumpsuit, holding the jumbled cloth to his chest as he looked to the wolf - ears down and whining faintly in humiliation. "Um...I-I'm sorry but... I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do with this."

"Fluent in languages that you couldn't have possibly heard before and yet you don't know what to do with clothing?" the wolf turned - somewhat bewildered by this - though immediately dipped his head in sympathy when he saw Kione's expression. "Alright, um... Hmm... I'm not sure I've ever had to explain this before..." the wolf sighed and scratched the back of his head again, brow furrowed in thought. "Here, just... it'd be easier to just show you, really." the wolf mumbled as he stood and padded over to the fox, who held out the jumpsuit for him to take. He let it unfold, unzipping it all the way down and held it out in both paws, hinged at the mid-section of the suit from the inside to let it hang open. "Just... hold it like this, see? Then...step into it, basically... one leg into each opening until they're through and it sits around your waist."

Kione gave a quizzical look, ears offset and head canted as he watched the wolf try to show him. He dipped his muzzle and bit his lip again when he heard the wolf groan in frustration at seeing the fox just watching him. "Alright just, scoot over to the edge of that pad and I'll... help you... get into this, if you didn't understand that even." Kione gave a faint whine hearing the wolf, though he did as he said and moved to the edge of the pad, sitting there looking up at him. The wolf huffed and sat on his knees just in front of the fox, curtly grabbing one leg at a time and slipping each into the pants part of the jumpsuit, pulling the fabric up around the fox's knees. "Stand." the wolf grunted and offered a paw to help - pulling Kione up to stand before him - and carefully pulling the suit up to his waist. "Hold it here." he instructed, placing the fox's paws to hold the fabric against his hips as he moved to the front and - after clearing his throat a bit and averting his gaze - pulled the suit out enough to give room for the zipper, pulling it up safely and securing it just under the fox's naval. "Alright now...your tail has to go through the back before we pull the rest of it up."

"My tail? Through where?" Kione asked - a bit confused and quite embarrassed for not knowing.

"Through the back... look, I just- Do you mind?" the wolf growled and turned the fox by his hips, unceremoniously reaching up under his tail and slipping his arm through an opening in the suit, grabbing around the fluffy appendage - to the fox's surprised gasp - and pulling it down carefully through the opening until the upper half of the suit was resting across the top-side of his tail instead. The wolf stood and moved behind Kione, lifting that half of the suit and grabbing each of the fox's arms to guide them into each sleeve, tugging the suit up over his shoulders after and pulling down the open zipper in the back to secure it around his tail. He moved back around to the front once it hung over his lithe frame on its own, grabbing the zipper in front again and pulling it up to just under Kione's chest. "There... A little loose maybe, but it'll do for now." the wolf commented, seeing that the jumpsuit was indeed a little baggy around the smaller male's body, though not overly so considering they fit his species much more tightly.

"Th-thanks...I um...guess." the fox stammered, ears splayed with a somewhat disoriented smile as he fidgeted and squirmed in the confines of the clothing. It seemed to rub his fur in every wrong direction when he moved in it, not to mention the awkwardness having it so snugly around the base of his tail when he couldn't remember ever wearing clothes before this, so far at least.

"What, you've seriously never worn clothes before or something?" the wolf chuckled briefly.

"N-not that I can remember, no... I don't remember anything before waking up here, on this ship." Kione sighed and sat back on the pad again, slumping back against the wall.

"Oh... Why not? Amnesia or something?" the wolf asked as he moved back over to sit on his makeshift chair.

"That's what Etnia was saying, I think... She said I might never remember." the fox growled at the thought of that mouse and shook his head, resting his muzzle against his chest between the open fabric.

"Et...nia... Was it a mouse? Bah, don't pay them any mind. They just do their 'masters' bidding. The Techeorian's built them to have a more compliant and 'trust-worthy' workforce in their medical bays and other sensitive areas." the wolf explained, grunting and standing to pad back over to the fox, sitting adjacent to him on the pad.

Kione quirked his head and looked at the wolf, curious but confused again. "Built...? What do you mean?"

"They're synthetic, built on an assembly line back on Techeos from what I've heard others say... They may act real enough, personality subroutines and language matrices like the one they put in... you...er, yeah. That's why you can understand me by the way." the wolf flicked an ear as he said that, looking back to the fox. "That could be part of your amnesia...if they didn't want you to remember something. What was it they...er, Etnia was it? What did the mouse tell you?"

"She said I had a severe concussion when I was brought up to the ship... said 'they' didn't tell her more than that I was injured and needed to be cared for..." Kione mumbled and sighed, slumping back again and looking up at the ceiling. "I don't know what to believe...I was tied down...first time I woke up, couldn't see anything though, couldn't move..."

"Yeah...you were drugged, I can still scent it on your breath. It lingers for a while unfortunately... Probably been getting headaches and feeling dizzy?" the wolf sighed at seeing Kione nod in response, scooting up to sit next to him and relaxing, leaning back. "We heard them telling you to rest rather frequently, it must not have been too long ago... the mice do actually care to some degree, the advice was valid. Just don't trust them when it comes to the big guys, they're fiercely loyal, just sympathetically so. Its kind of creepy honestly." The wolf chuckled.

Kione canted his head as he looked at the wolf "Sympathetic? She lied to me and drugged me, stuck me in the neck with something before I managed to get out of there too! I figure that's why I'm so groggy right now..." the fox groaned and leaned his head back against the pad.

"Wait, she stuck your neck with something? You must be extremely resistant to their sedatives if you haven't passed out yet... Everyone I've seen get stuck like that pretty much drops on the spot." the wolf looked Kione over curiously, leaning in to scent his fur.

"Why do you keep doing that...?" the fox asked, slightly less annoyed this time as he had started to grow used to having very little personal space.

"I...right, you're species probably has different customs, sorry. I'm just trying to figure you out. Usually when the Techeorian's stop at a planet they take a whole ship full of...its inhabitants... not just one. It's strange that they would take you and put something as important as a language matrix in your head before even leaving the system, let alone before making it back to Techeos." The wolf poked a claw against the fox's exposed chest as if expecting something to happen, though only received a slight grunt in return.

Kione sat up against the back of the pad and stretched out, yawning quietly. "Well...sorry I can't help you much with that... I've been trying to do the same since I first woke up."

The wolf shrugged and sat beside the fox again, looking up at the chute they fell out of earlier. "At least we're safe enough in here for now, you should go ahead and get some more sleep, let the sedative wear off. We can meet up with the rest in a couple hours and form an escape plan."

Kione sighed and gave a nod, slipping down to curl up on the pad next to the wolf and pulling his tail up to hug around, using it as a pillow. Seeing this made the wolf cant his head curiously, though he said nothing - instead simply letting the exhausted fox drift from consciousness as he kept watch.
