Kazuo: Part 2
Sitting up I called out, "Who is it?"
"Clyde Jonson! We know you're in there! Open the door now!"
I got up and unlocked the door. The person knocking on the door slammed the door open and walked in. He had a weapon with him.
"You're not Jonson! Where is he?" He asked.
"Why do you need to see him?"
"We need to discuss something with him." He replied.
"We? Who's this we?" I asked.
"I have others waiting outside." He said.
"He went out with that partner of his, possibly to the tavern for some food and drink." I lied
"Really?" He said, "Well thanks for the help." He left the room and slammed the door shut. Knowing that Sir Clyde's room is directly above me, I grabbed a few seeds I harvested from some fruit I ate earlier and peered out my window. Seeing that there's no one outside I threw some of them at Mr. Jonson's room. The window doors opened and he looked down.
"Oh, it's you." He said.
Looking at him, I said, "There's a group of people looking for you, they're carrying weapons and don't have a very pleasant scent."
"Really? Shit!" He said. "Get up here really quick!"
Walking out of my room, I closed the door behind me and walked up to the floor above me and into Sir Clyde's room. Walking in, I realized he'd waken up Tala.
"What did they look like?" He asked.
"The one who talked to me had a scar on his face." I said.
"Gods..." He said. "It must be Harison Trading. We need to get out of here!"
"I know of a passage in the inn here. Follow me." I said, "It might hide our scent from dogs."
Tala looked worried. "M-might?" she said with a shaky voice.
I led them to a bookshelf and pulled onto a false book.
"Down here." I said. "Clyde, when we get down there, take it slow, your eyes may take a bit to adjust."
When we got down there, I heard their voice. "That kid lied! Find and kill them! Down here!
I heard foot steps behind us. "Hey," I whispered, "we got to move faster. Down here."
I led them down a corridor, but in honesty, I didn't know where we were going. After a bit, we ran into a room with a dead end.
"Over here! We got them cornered!" I heard one of them yelling.
"What do we do now? Tala said.
Before I could answer, the small army of men ran at us. They grabbed all three of us, but they pushed me to the ground. They began kicking me and hitting me with metal pipes. One of them took one of my daggers and held it to my throat. Quickly, I rolled out of the way and got up.
I looked at the small group and removed the parts of my hood covering both my mouth and left eye.
"You know," I said, but before i continued I paused. "YOU GUYS ARE REALLY STARTING TO PISS ME THE HELL OFF!" Quickly and without thinking I latched myself onto one of them and bit his neck. He began screaming as I bit harder and pulled, tearing a piece of his throat out.
"D-d-demon..." he said, Blood began pouring from his neck and he fell down in a pool of blood. Still with the piece of his throat in my mouth, I looked over at the remaining people, then I looked at the ones holding Tala, they look like they were about to rape her, and the ones who had Clyde were about to cut his throat. I made a maniacal smile at the people holding them down.
I sputtered out the flesh I had in my mouth. "Let them go, or you'll suffer the same fate..." They slowly began backing away from Clyde and Tala. Picking up the dagger they took from me, I then sheathed it.
"Leave us alone, or I'll kill each one of you, worse than your friend here." They looked even more scared and each one ran off. I walked over to Clyde and Tala.
"Don't worry you twp, I'm not gonna hurt you." I said. They still looked fairly afraid of me. "Hey, it's really okay." I covered my face back up. I grabbed there arms and hoisted them back to their feet.
"W-what was that?" Clyde said.
"Well, for one, I have anger issues, and two, have you ever heard of the legend known as the Blood Fox?" I asked.
"Oh yes," Tala said, "The Blood Fox feasts on human blood, and gains power through it, the fox's fur is also just as red." She continued the story, "But what I don't understand is why he didn't attack you Clyde."
"I guess I have more self control than I thought." I said. Looking back at the corpse, he called me a demon... maybe I am one.
"Hey, can I ask you two something?" I said.
"What is it?" They asked.
"Well one, how did a wolf come to become partnered with a human?" I asked.
"Oh," Clyde said, "I found her as a pup, she had the same features as you, with wolf ears and a tail. So she is basically my daughter I guess." He began to laugh.
"I guess that makes a slight bit of sense." I said. "But my last question, I wanted to ask you two if I could go along with you, to wherever your heading."
They looked at each other shocked at the question.
