#1 of Charizard's Burning Passion

((Hmmm. You know, I've always liked Charizard. Yep, he's my favorite pokemon and all. So, I've decided to right a story based on the episode 'Charizard's burning ambition'. You know, the show usually goes on with Ash leaving his very rebellious fire-type pokemon that we all know and love at a Charizard Habitat. So he can train with Lisa, a well known Charizard Trainer. Well, then never go in depth at what his (Charizard's) stay is like while he's training. Sure, they show a few other's of his kind, but it was a BIG place...there were bound to be more than just Charla (Lisa's Pokemon), the smallest one, and the gentlest one!

If you haven't seen that eppie, than I'm just rambling on...*ahem*

Basically, it's going to go into Charizard's training, and how he reacts to being new. Yes, lots of plot ideas, but don't worry! It'll be pleasantly yiffy as well! ~_^ Just..not...in this particular chapter. Don't worry, I was just setting it up! ^_^;;;))

Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon, Lisa, Charla, or any of the Charizards already shown in the episode. Of course, I'll have to give them names, but that's about it. Oh, and a few of my own characters will be thrown into the mix, just to warn you! ~_^

~*~*~*~

"Get up already."

A low rumble sounded at her feet, a sure sign that the sleepy pokemon wasn't about to wake up anytime soon. Well, not on his own, at least. This big boy really needed the training if he couldn't even wake up on time, just like the others. Normally, she didn't mind if a few of them slept in; in fact, there was never a way of getting all of them roused if they didn't want to be.

But he was the new guy. She had a certain responsibility as Lisa's pokemon to welcome him, and get him started. "Charizard, I said get up!" Her clawed foot nudged in between his wing, a known pressure point.

He sat strait up, all drowsiness lost in his ruby eyes as he glared at her, "What!?" His voice was gruff, always holding the tone of a growl. To trainers, all Charizards sounded almost the same; a growl or roar, maybe a dragonic purr. But really, they all had different voice patterns that were more noticeable to other Pokemon.

Charla crossed her arms over her chest, "It's time to start training." Her own voice was naturally calm for such a fiery-tempered type, holding hidden wisdom within. She had been raised by Lisa from a Charmander, and had also been present when her trainer had first opened Charisific Valley. She had certain responsibilities; tasks that she placed onto her own shoulders, no matter how unpleasant.

Getting this lazy male to wake up was one of them.

His gaze was steady as he watched her, "...I'll train when I feel like it." He stretched his wings, before slowly sinking back to the ground, planning on getting some more sleep. From what he could see, she was just an overly bossy female that wanted to control all aspects of their lives. And by 'theirs' he meant his fellow Charizards that roamed the area. He had only been there for a few days, and by the looks of it, Charla was running things. She and that annoy trainer of hers.

At least her trainer could handle such a powerful pokemon. Ash wasn't even able to ride his back during flight without falling off. That stupid, klutzy, wimpy trainer was probably screwing up another battle, just because his most powerful pokemon was at some stupid Natural Reserve, getting stronger. ...He sort of missed disobeying Ash's commands.

He would make up for it by blowing off this big-headed female. And what was with the idiotic pink bow she always wore? Didn't she know it made her look like a complete fool?

"Hmph. I see now why your Trainer dumped you." Charla spoke, after thinking for a moment. Lisa had explained to her how Charizard was used to not responding, due to Ash's lack in experience. Well, he seemed to respond to things that made him angry. Reverse Psychology worked on him as well. Why not use a little bit of both? She noticed his muscles tense under his scales. Good. "You're undisciplined. Soft, even."

"Soft!?" He reared up, eyes ablaze and set on her. "And he didn't DUMP me!" Charizard leaned backwards, blasting a furious blaze into the air with a roar. He was trying to prove to Charla how fierce he could be. SOFT!? Who did that female think she was talking to?

"...Are you quite finished?" Charla looked positively bored with his display.

It took him everything not to fall to the ground sideways, a look of defeat sliding across his features. He quickly shook them off, a vein pulsing at his temple as he glared at her. Now he was too angry to even go back to sleep; the flame at his tail huge and raging.

"Good. Good. Use that fire, that anger. It will help you later on." A tooth-filled grin slid across her snout, and she uncrossed her arms. He had so much potential, but the lack of training really stunted his strength. Even she could toss him away with one arm! That was pretty pathetic in her eyes. It was also probably the reason why he hadn't physically tried to get her to leave him alone. Another humiliating defeat didn't seem like something he really wanted to experience again. "But to begin training you need a cool head...like if you had just woken up when told. I'll come back later, hopefully, you'll have calmed down."

Before he could thunder a protest, her wings spread wide, and with a mighty flap she was already in the air. Charla gave him one last fleeting glance, before shooting off to go see how another group at the far end of the Valley was doing. There had been truth in her statement, however. She would be returning.

"ARG!" Charizard roared once more, shooting another blast into the air in frustration. Even when she loses, she WINS! He may have gotten her to leave him alone, but he was far too angry to even fathom going back to sleep! This was probably the only reason she had thought it safe to leave him. Growling horribly under his breath, the Charizard lumbered over to where a community watering hole was. It wasn't a watering hole perse, but an incredibly huge lake, used for bathing and drinking. That was how massive it was.

"Hey, Hey! It's the big Char-man!" A voice called out as he neared, much to his displeasure. Why now, when he felt like charging anything that would annoy him. And yes, this particular Charizard was defiantly going to annoy him.

His scales felt tight, muscles in his jaw tensing, "Not now, Gila. I'm not in the mood." He rumbled in a threatening manner to the Charizard twice his size. All of the wild Charizards were larger than him, females included. This angered him to no extent; the smallest of them all being Gila, who was still gigantic. This alone did not fuel his contempt for Gila; oh no. Charizard had also challenged this particular pokemon to a battle his first day visiting the Valley, and had lost. What made the defeat sting even more...

...Gila was a female.

It just didn't seem right! Males were naturally stronger, built to be able to protect their weaker mates and offspring. This area totally defied that law. How dare the females be stronger, if not larger than he! These thoughts ran through his mind as he passed her, dipping his neck to take a drink. Charizard tensed when he felt a tugging on his tail.

"Wow. Charla did a number on ya, huh? Why else would you be so mad?" The female was pulling his tail with her claws, as close as she dared to his exaggerated flame tip. Apparently, he still needed to 'cool down' but it didn't seem possible with such an aggravating spirit near him.

"Let. Go." He ordered, eyes turning into blood red slits.

Gila did as she was commanded, though with an impish grin which showed that she wasn't really threatened. "Or you'll what? Ignore me to death? C'mon Char-Man, I know I can take you." She posed, surprisingly close to the edge of the lake, arms and wings outstretched too show her muscular figure.

His eyes subconsciously raked over her, before Charizard shook his head and growled, "Wait until I start my training. Then we'll see who can take who." Claw reaching up to scratch his horn, he contemplated on knocking her into the water. The thought of watching the droplets glisten off of her seemed awfully appealing. He stopped, his train of thought derailing. Where had that come from?

Still, pushing her in sounded appealing. Though someone beat him too it.

With a splash, Gila landed in the shallows, sure to keep her flame tip above the surface. Gurgling and sputtering, she sat up, a scowl on her normally playful face. "Kirl, I'm going to murder you!" She bared her teeth at a Charizard that had emerged, seemingly from nowhere.

"I think it's what you deserve for annoying Charizard like that." The male, Kirl, spoke, his voice almost monotone. It threw others off, how he could speak so calmly and almost without feeling; yet have the biggest heart out of them all. He was known at the 'Gentlest Charizard in the Valley' and he too, had been chosen by Lisa to battle the newest addition to their Habitat. He hadn't wanted to hurt Charizard, but he hadn't wanted to lose to such an obviously easy opponent. Let's just say, after whipping him in the face not once; but twice, Kirl had apologized profusely.

Now this one, Charizard could tolerate. "Hey Kirl." He grunted, picking at his teeth with his claws, looking bored. He really wasn't impressed with any of them, no matter how big they were. Size didn't mean anything.

"Good Morning." The fire-type returned the less than friendly greeting, a large smile on his face. He then turned to Gila, walking towards the edge and leaning over to lick her snout. Charizard didn't know why a bubble of jealousy rose in his gullet. "You know you can't stay mad at me...If it's any consolation, I'm sorry." Kirl gave the female the most pathetic puppy-dog eyes any reptile could muster.

She seemed to waver, her anger being blown away by another prompting lick to her snout. "Oh, alright. Just get off of me, you big sap." Gila snapped, lumbering out of the water before shaking herself off. It wasn't really needed, but she gave an extra shake right by Charizard.

His face fell, expression completely blank. Since when were those two so close? He didn't even notice the droplets hitting his stomach, eye ridges furrowing. Sure, Gila and Kirl got along great, always hanging around each other. But they had kept the physical contact to a minimum. "...What're you two up too?"

Gila opened her eyes, from where she had been leaning against Kirl's chest. Blinking her crystal blue eyes, she looked around, as if confused. "Uh...Char-Man? ...Nobody's doin' anything." She resumed her spot on the male's chest, eyes closing at the sound of his heartbeat. Her tail entwined with his, she rumbled, snuggling into him even more.

Kirl seemed more aware of what Charizard meant, a thick arm lifting to scratch behind his two horns. "Oh, us, you mean?" His monotone shifted to give him the decency to sound sheepish, "We do this every year...You know. Pair up with a friend, rather than a stranger?"

"..I'm not following you." The smallest of the three gave him a blank look.

"Oh? ..OH!" She sat bolt upright, eyes widened at him. "Kirl, he's not wild, remember?" Her claw shot out to playfully punch the fire-type that she had been using as a pillow only seconds before. "Tell me something, Char-Man. When Soot.."

"Ash." Charizard corrected, almost subconsciously.

Gila just waved it off, "Yeah, Yeah, Ash then. When he caught you, were you a Charizard?" She leaned in, as if his answer alone would solve the mystery of life.

"..N..No." That look made him uneasy. "I was a Charmander." He didn't want to mention that he wasn't technically 'caught' by that weakling. Flashes of his old trainer and past memories flickered in front of his mind's eye, and he shook his head to rid himself of the images.

"HA!" She fell over, onto her back, laughing up a storm. Her three taloned feet kicked thin air, her arms waving around. Obviously, something he had said had amused her.

Then again, a passing Caterpie could amuse Gila..for hours.

Charizard rounded on the only other sane pokemon that he knew, "...Get her to explain what the hell she's laughing about." He growled, teeth glinting in a threatening manner. He did not appreciate being mocked, especially when it was over something that he had not clue about.

Kirl was staring at the hysterical female, turning to Charizard when he seemed to get what she was laughing about. "You've been in a trainer's possession for almost your whole life. It would be unlikely that you would have experienced Mating Season."

"..." He. Was. Speechless. Of course, he knew what it was; that was pure instinct. It had never really occurred to him that he hadn't mated a female, ever. That was what made him stop, mind stuck in 'spin cycle'. Well, now he knew why a few provocative thoughts about GILA of all pokemon had slid into his mind. It was his hormones reacting to the oncoming Season.

When he was in Ash's pokeball, it had been like hibernation. So he was usually asleep during this time, or too busy ignoring his trainer to really act upon his instincts. Having never mated made him embarrassed; another emotion Charizard hated. Basically, he was...he was...

"A virgin!" Gila cackled, now rolling side to side, wings spread out underneath her. Her tail curled up in between her legs, wagging around joyously. "Oh! Oh! My sides!" She managed to roll back onto her stomach, claw banging on the ground as she fell victim to another fit of laughter.

"Gila! It's not funny!" Kirl was at least sympathetic towards his brethren, nudging the female with his toes. "You could be a bit more polite about it, at least!" He gave her a stern look, crossing his arms.

"Oh alright. Worry-Wartortle." She grumbled, straitening herself up, before wrapping her tail around his possessively. "But does it make sense now, Char-Man? Me n' Kirl buddy up every year. I've had...3 of his eggs."

That confused him even more, and Charizard felt like a little Charmander again, asking questions that seemed so obvious to his elders. "..Uh..But you two aren't.." His voice seemed to become even gruffer as her voiced his ignorance, barely audible to the other two.

Kirl smiled, "Aren't Mates? ..In a sense we are. I adore Gila," His grin grew when he heard her give an appreciative rumble. "And once the Heat comes around, she's more than willing to accept my seed and bear my offspring...why let it go to waste? Someone's got to make sure there are new Charmander's out there." He paused, trying to figure out a better way to explain it. Finding none, he simply gave a shrug, "We're just good friends, really."

She rumbled once more, licking the side of his neck, "Heh. Friends with benefits."

"Quite."

Charizard felt his right eye give a twitch, staring at the two as if they had grown a second head. Or were mating right in front of him. Either way, he seemed a more than just a bit turned off by their non-chalant approach to the subject. "What about..actual mates? You know, not just fuck-buddies." ...He had heard Brock use that term before, talking to Ash while Misty was preoccupied.

Gila covered her muzzle with both claws, trying not to burst into laughter at his term. She looked up at him, simply shaking her head, trembling with held back gaiety.

"Thank you, Gila, for trying to have some Self Control." Kirl rolled his ruby red eyes, focusing on Charizard afterwards. "Naturally, there are those that truly love each other. And they mate year after year. As a matter of fact, Hel and Vean are going to have their 12th egg this year." Just to cover all the basics, for his naïve friend's pride, he continued on with a sort of lecture. "When a female goes into Heat, she sends out Pheromones to well..boggle our minds." He chuckled. "If they mate, they quicken. Unless there is something wrong with her, or the male is impotent."

Charizard seemed to wince at that. "I see." He turned back onto the more informative pieces of the little lesson, realizing that he had noticed a sort of strange scent gently wafting from Gila. It wasn't unpleasant, but he had never sensed anything like it; the scent was a bit overbearing. Like...burning Pine trees. Kirl, it seemed, couldn't get enough of it. He watched the male gently lower his head, licking behind Gila's horns; his nostrils constantly flaring.

He grunted, grabbing their attention, "As lovely a couple you two make," His voice dripped sarcasm as he turned away slightly, "I don't need a visual on Mating..." And without another word, he opened his wings, and shot into the sky. Charizard didn't know where he was going, but it was going to be a very secluded place in the Valley. He didn't want Charla, Kirl, or...especially Gila finding him.

Landing in an isolated meadow, he stretched out, before flopping onto his stomach. Maybe now that he was calmed down, he could take a little nap. Letting out a loud yawn, he closed his eyes, only to have them snap open.

"There you are!" Charla exclaimed, landing in front of his snout. She reached out with her claw, and pulled him up by his neck. "If you're relaxed enough to try and snooze, you're ready to begin our training." She huffed.

Charizard thought about giving her a hard time, and decided against it. Wasn't the purpose of staying here was to make him stronger? How could he be the best he could be, while goofing off and sleeping the whole time. "..Fiiiine." He groaned, straitening up and sliding into a battle ready position.

She watched him, shaking her head, "No, No. You're way ahead of yourself, Charizard." Charla made her way over, ignoring his confused gaze. "You've got strength down. The only way it can really improve, is if you concentrate on your other talents." Walking behind him, she eased his limbs into the formation she wanted.

Charizard ended up in a lotus position, claws resting on his feet. "...What am I doing?" He snapped, eyes narrowed. The sudden hostility was brought on by a frighteningly delicious aroma rolling off of her body. It was like the sweetest fruit, and made his head swim. He was glad when she moved away, sitting in front of him in the lotus position as well. It was a bit odd for a giant lizard, but instead of crossing their legs, the heels of their taloned feet lay flat against the other. It worked.

"You need to concentrate on your breathing."

".......I need to what!?"

Charla let out an annoyed sigh, "Your Flamethrower technique is powerful, but you remembered how Gila didn't even flinch? And how her attack had knocked you down?" She knew she was pushing it with his temper, but he had to learn from his mistakes. "She wasn't even using any of her actual strength. Gila didn't want to hurt you too badly."

Not using any of her strength! That blast had knocked him back flat onto his tail! Charizard's face remained stoic, as these thoughts raced through his mind. They ceased however, when the wind began to blow onto his face while carrying that wonderful scent again. It was luscious, and also horribly arousing.

He felt his sheath hardening, realizing that Charla was nearing her Heat. Only, she smelled really...good. Charizard knew that she was watching him, but stood up anyway, lumbering towards her with a purpose.

"..Hey! Did I say you could stand?" She did as well, stomping towards him angrily. How dare he defy her! Charla was ready to deal him a smart blow to the head, when she suddenly felt his maw pressing against hers. At first, she was in shock, and then it finally hit her. He had kissed her!

Pushing him away with ease, she snarled, wings fanning out to make her seem even more ominous. "What the hell do you think you're doing!?" She noticed the particularly lustful look in his eyes, realization dawning on her. "...You're sensing my Heat, aren't you?" Though she already knew the answer.

Her taste..it was just as sweet as her scent, though he tried to concentrate on answering her. "Yes.." Charizard's voice was a husky growl, as he began to advance on her once more. Something had come over him, he knew; a spell or something that made him act this way. His member began to slide out; as red as the rest of him, though his sheath was the same cream hue as his stomach.

Eyes darting to his dragonhood, she shook her head once more. "I'm sorry Charizard. I don't Mate...I can't." She didn't seem genuinely sorry, speaking in a tone that had been rehearsed and spoken many times before. "Lisa needs me to help her, and if I had an egg...it'd just be too difficult. You understand, right?" She watched him stop in his tracks, her heart actually going out to him. His first Season, and the female he approaches turns him down. But her duty was her duty. "You know, we should really pick this up after everyone's cooled off. Mating Season usually lasts a month..I shouldn't return until it's over."

He gaped at her; stunned. She was turning him away, just like that!? It was enough for his member to ease back into its sheath, not that he noticed. Charizard soon snapped out of his stupor, snarling. "Yeah, run to your precious Trainer. You two deserve each other!" He roared, sexually frustrated and humiliated at the same time. It was almost too much for him to bear.

Charla's eyes narrowed, "Don't talk bad about Lisa." She bristled, taking a step towards him instead of flying away like she had planned. Nobody spoke a hurtful word against her best friend and companion.

"Or what?" He growled, "Or you'll get her to kick me out? Yeah, go run to your little human." His voice took on a mocking tone, the verbal abuse against the unknowing trainer making him feel better. What was more was the female's reaction to what he said. She was really a pet if she got this worked up over a few mean words. "Lisa, Lisa! Let me help!" He mocked.

"Stop it!"

"I'll even ignore my own species for you! Let me-"

"I said STOP!" Charla roared, sending a blast of fire directly at him. It took him completely by surprise, and she watched in grim satisfaction as he was knocked backwards and slid across the ground a ways. "You have a mouth on you," She snarled, "It's going to get you hurt." And with that, she flew off, before any real damage could be done.

Little did she know, that Charizard's pride was shattered; not to mention he had a nasty bump on the back of his head. As he watched her fly off, his vision became blurry, shadows creeping into the corner of his eyes. To her, it may simply seem like he was taking that nap he had wanted, when in reality, the force of her attack had knocked Charizard unconscious.

"Cha..Charla.." He groaned, noticing a dragonic shape circling overhead. Maybe she had come back for him? The fire-type snarled. He didn't need anybody's...help...

His world faded to black, just as the figure dived for him.
