Starting up her computer as the sun goes down for the day, Aiko thinks to herself if she really wants to do this. The answer comes quickly as she logs online. She does a quick search for free online games and comes up with one called Gaia. She clicks the link and finds the about page and reads, "Take Role-playing games to the next level with this virtual reality game. Completely free to play, meet new friends across the world, come together and play as anyone you want." Aiko clicks the sign up link and fills in the info required. It takes a few minutes before the link is sent to her email. Feeling nerves as she looks around on the forums, she comes across one titled "Role playing family 'clean' " She clicks it and does a quick read through on the page, reading the names and other info on the page. At the top was the link to the World. Aiko grabs her goggles and puts them on as she clicks the link to enter the World.

Looking around she sees a big opened field with a lake, some trees, and a path leading to a good size house. Off to the side where the lake and trees were, was a few people hanging around. Above their heads was a name and then "Mom" or "sister" Aiko could only think that that must be the role they are playing as in this world. Aiko was very shy but she still walked to where the others were laughing and playing. It was Kiki who saw her first, under her name was "Mom"

"Oh lookie! We have a newbie! Come, come over here Aiko and meet the others. Are you wanting to join our game?" Kiki asked as she ran over to Aiko and took her hand and walked her over to the others. The others were all starring at Aiko as she walked up to them. There was a brother, sister, and a friend of family there. Sesshy was the brother, the friend of family was Angel, and the sister was Dark Lilly. Aiko had just noticed the odd clothing that everyone was wearing and hadn't given it much thought as to what she might have been wearing in this new World. She looks at her arm and sees no sleeves, she was wearing long sleeves before she started playing. In fact, her fur was gone, she looked more human then she really was. Kiki must have noticed what Aiko was concerned about, "Don't worry, there is a room for you to get dressed in and change your race too. Follow me and I'll show you the way." walking her to the house the others got up and followed. It would seem Aiko was wearing a white short sleeve top and just plain block pants no shoes. Now wondering how she didn't notice the fact she wasn't wearing shoes, she walked up to the house and inside, she went to a door with a sign saying "Dressing room" "Alright Aiko, go inside there and you'll see where you can change your clothes and race and all kinds of other stuff, there is also a shopping mall in there so you can buy some new clothes and other items." Kiki gave her a little push to the door. Aiko walks inside and a wall was set up with a touchscreen that had options. Aiko walked to the wall and started with 'race' she went through the list and decided to choose a raccoon tail and human body. She then went through the clothes she already had and didn't find much. So she went into the mall and found the underwear shop. She got a jet black strapless bra thing that could just as easily have been a swim suit top. Browsing the other shop names she found one with goth style clothing and went in there to look. Each time she clicked an item it would appear already on here. She didn't have to dress herself at all. She saw a pair of black pants that she remembered seeing on the guy outside. She liked how they looked on him so she went ahead and got them. She was running out of coins now and wasn't able to find shoes. After finally being happy with her hairstyle, short shoulder length hair that was a dark red, bangs that waved over her eyes to the left, she stepped out of the dressing room to find everyone still waiting outside. They were all sitting there talking and it was Dark Lilly that saw Aiko first. "Nice clothes Aiko. Are you going to be my little sister," she asked as the others looked at Aiko. "Uhm, well yes if that is alright, I would like to join this role play world as a sister. I am new to all of this, I haven't ever done anything like this before and I can't be on long tonight." Kiki stepped up and hugged Aiko, "Welcome to the family Lil Aiko. It's good to have you with us. We have a few other members but not too many come here. We are the main members. I'm sure Sesshy will show you how to make more coin here." He looked over at Aiko and smiled at her. He got up and walked back outside, Aiko followed after him. As they walked, Aiko saw that he had a tail too but his was red and and light black, almost gray like a red panda's tail. Aiko smiled at herself. The other two looked completely human just dressed oddly.

Sesshy jumped into the tree and looked down at Aiko, "Are you coming up here?" Aiko was afraid of heights and was too scared to climb the tree, "No... I think I'll just sit down here" she sat on the ground next to the same tree. "So how long have you been playing?" Aiko looked up at him in the tree as she spook. He glanced down at her as he replied, "a couple years."

Sessy didn't seem to have much to say, Aiko wasn't sure if he was shy or just didn't want to talk. She tried to ask some questions but they all seemed to end quickly. After a few minutes of sitting in silence Aiko decided that it was getting real late and she should get to bed. Looking up in the tree she noticed that Sesshy was asleep in the tree. "Hey! You're going to fall from there, you betting get down or log off." Sesshy opened one of his eyes and jumped down to sit next to Aiko. "It's been a long day, I passed out. So tired." Aiko looked at him and with a sleepy tone in her voice, "we should just log off and go to bed and I'll be back tomorrow. Will you be here?"

"No I have school tomorrow, but I'll be on in the evening after school, I think." "Oh alright, that sounds good. I'll be waiting and we can talk more." Smiling sweetly, Aiko stands up and holds her hand out to Sesshy, he takes it and stands up, shaking her hand. "Alright then Aiko, I shall see you tomorrow, have a good night and sweet dreams."

"You too Sesshy!" Sesshy logs off first and Aiko looks around to see the darkness around, no one left. She might as well log off then. Removing the goggles and blinking her eyes to the white computer screen, her room was already really dark even with the door opened. She shut down her computer after deleting her browsing history so her step father didn't catch her going to such sites, it was against the rules to talk to people online. Feeling alone again, Aiko goes to her window and opens it and breathes in the fresh, cool air. Looking at the stars and the moon, wondering if her new friends saw the same moon and if they were looking at it right now with her, wherever they might be. She gets dressed for bed and looks at the time seeing it was already after 1am she sighed and covered up and held herself tightly wishing she had real friends in real life. A single tear drips from her cheek to her pillow as she wipes her eyes and tries to fall asleep.

A few days had past everything was going just the same as always, every morning Aiko woke up to her step father touching her and she getting this sickening feeling deep inside her after each time. She had gotten the time down by now for when her new friends would be online. Her and Sesshy had gotten to become better friends, it took a day or two but they started talking a lot more, Aiko had learned a bit about him. It would seem that he didn't live that far from where she did, just the next state under her, he was only a year younger then her, and a few other small things like his favorite color and food. It was afternoon when Aiko was starting to turn on her computer with the intent to sign on to Gaia, she heard yelling coming from the living room. It would seem that her younger brother got home from school and was in trouble for something again, this is very common. Aiko's computer desk was on the same wall as the door so she could see before someone came into her room, she saw her brother go into the bathroom. Not thinking anything of it, Aiko continued to get online and to Gaia. She was answering one of her emails when her brother came into her room behind her from her bathroom. The two bathrooms was connected together with a door to separate the main bathroom with tub and her bathroom with just a toilet and sink. She didn't even heat the door open, as that is the only door allowed to be closed within the house, of course other then the main front and back door. Aiko jumped as her brother yelled, "Mom, Aiko is talking to people online!" Aiko was too shocked that her brother was even in her room without her knowing to close her web page. She hastily typed in the words "in trouble. I will be back when I can."_and hit the send button. It was a letter to Sesshy, she hadn't meant for her letter to say that but she knew that in a matter of minutes her step father would be in her room taking over her computer. She glared at her brother as he gave her a nasty face that basically said, '_Haha you're in trouble'

He then left her room and went across the hall to his room, by that time her step father was in her room. "Get up and out now," he ordered her. In protest she didn't stand up, "but dad I wasn't talking to anyone, it's just a game." She looked him in the eye and fear washed over her, he didn't have to say anything more, Aiko stood up and left her room to sit in the living room. Her mother was there watching her soaps and on her computer, she glanced at Aiko for a moment and went back to her game on the computer.

Playing it out in her head as to how she was going to go about defending herself, Aiko sat on the couch and waited as her step father came into the living room with her computer. He took it into her parents room and set it down. Back into Aiko's room he went to get the computer tower and sat it next to the monitor. He went into the living room and sat on the couch, "On the floor," he demanded. Aiko got off the couch and onto the floor across from him, the coffee table in between them. Looking at her step father with a sad, uncertain look on her face, he began to speak, not all of the words was exactly reaching her brain as she was still thinking about how long she would be in trouble for. She noticed that he had stopped speaking, indicating that it was time for her to answer with the right answers. She opened her mouth but nothing came out, full of fear she didn't know what the right answer was. He started speaking again, this time bringing up how she was no good and how she had to be pulled out of school because she was too slow to speak up. Aiko waited for her turn to speak, letting the words sink in to her brain and thoughts, trying to string them together to find the right answer. Her time came when her step father got up to go get a beer from the kitchen, it was already half an hour into the discussion and Aiko was taking in every word her step father was saying to her. He sat back down, "Well, have you anything to say yet?" he spit out as he was sipping his beer, Aiko's eyes looked at his mouth, unable to stop looking at his rotting teeth. His hair all gelled back like if he was trying to copy Elvis, except his hair was a graying yellow from all the cigarettes he smoked, just in the half hour he has been talking, he has had three of them.

"I'm sorry, I won't do it again, I know I was bad." Aiko started to plead to him, "please, I don't know why. I just wanted someone to talk to my own age. I want friends." He started to say something but Aiko's mother spook up, "Oh that is enough, you two are giving me a headache. Aiko you can go to church if you want friends. You are grounded from the internet and no computer in your room."

It looked like it was going to be a few days of losing herself in books. Aiko got up and slowly walked to her bedroom, stopping at her brother's room she looked in at him as he was laying on his bed watching tv. "I hope you're happy" She glared at him before turning to her room. Grabbing one of her Harry Potter books from her shelf and flopping herself onto her bed, she opened the book to the first page in the book and stared at it without reading. Thinking to herself, "I finally make friends and this is what happens, I get grounded because I want to talk to people. How stupid. I have to tell him what happened once I get back online. I wonder if he will still be on Gaia, I wonder how long I will be without internet."

She closed the book and just laid there with her head resting on her folded arms, swaying her tail side to side, thinking about Sesshy and how he should be getting online now.
