#104 of Exploration

One week after I had been returned from the usually fatal affliction of death, and I had regained control of my body and all it's usual forms and abilities, I was in the Great Hall. I hadn't lost any special abilities, still my immunity to cold, my transforming abilities, my sexual prowess (guess who helped me on that one? Yes, the ever present Draco), we were just about to go to a new planet when a glower buzzed in.

"Silverine, all planet exploring is temporarily stopped."

"Yes, sir." the Lupogriff snapped to attention,"can I ask why?"

"Yes." the glower replied," but you won't get an answer." he turned and walked out. We stared in confusion, and then shrugged. I had been present to this a couple of times, the glowers would not say anything, but if they said it, it was for a good reason. So we sat down and removed all our planet gear, talking to one another idly.

I walked out of the hall, thinking in meditation on what I could be busy doing now planet fall had been stopped, and Time Dancer ran up.

"Alduin, how are you?"

"No planet exploration, quite possibly bored." I said, as we walked together.

"That's a bummer, it was my weekend off, actually." she said, feeling for me.

"So how's the bike?"

"Well, Ryan's reasonably competitive, we've been bouncing bets off one another, and it's fairly even."

Those two bikers had been made aware of the other's presence, and were determined to exert superiority over the other. Unfortunately this looked like it would go on until Judgement day. My Ariel Atom 500 had broken the road legal car record the day before yesterday as I had shaved a second off my old time. Despite all the others attempts to make their car better than mine, even the faster were still a minute slower, mostly over the twisty section at the start. Obviously none of them had an Exige, that was the only car I thought could challenge the Atom round corners. And for all those hypercar drivers, the Atom could be piloted with two fingers, which was why it was so fast.

Me and Time walked aimlessly down the myriad of corridors, talking about irrelevant things. She had taken up playing virtual reality games, we had a VR room somewhere, although I couldn't be bothered looking for it, and she was describing her latest attempts in a first player shooter. I made the right sort of encouraging noises, trying to sound like I was interested, but Time picked it up immediately.

"Alduin, are you in your body?"

"I should hope so, I spent a month out of it, and didn't enjoy it much." I replied. My magical skill had faded, which was a great shame for me, and a great relief for every one in my party. Well, it's not quite like that, they wanted me to have the abilities for adventuring, but I used those abilities for more than missions.

"It's just you haven't been using words with more than two syllables, you aren't paying attention to a word I've been saying, have you?" the canine asked.

"Not really, Time." I replied, frankly.

"O.K., you've never given me an answer like that before. What's up?"

"I just feel so, unchallenged, recently. I haven't done anything new."

"Have you fought Draco?"

"That's not new, Time, and while he mostly always gets the better of me, sex isn't new either."

"There must be something wrong with you." she teased, and I smiled.

"There's always been something wrong with me, Time Dancer."

A glower appeared around the corner, and hovered towards the pair of us. With barely a break in stride, we parted either way, but the glower hovered slightly towards me. We both stopped, and I stood gently to attention to the glower.

"You want me for something, glower?" I asked, politely.

"I do, for something." the glower replied."I'd prefer Time did not come with you, this is for me and you alone."

Time Dancer looked at the glower, and I could feel the uncertainty pulse through her briefly. She turned and ran, as though running for her life.

"I want to know how you do that." I said, looking at the canine as she sprinted through a door, and slammed it heavily.

The glower made a sound.

"It must be because she saw Drason's minions being vaporised."

"Yes, one of you told me how you managed that."

"He told us he told you as well." the glower pulsed in satisfaction, and made to hover back the way he had come. I walked alongside.

"I'm not in trouble, am I?"

"Depends on what you mean by trouble." the glower replied, innocently.

"So what could I, a mere mortal, help you with?"

"Alduin, what you must realise is that we are just like normal creatures. We live, we die."

"You also have no corporeal body, and can play with molecules like I can with play doh." I replied, and the glower laughed, pulsing merrily.

"Granted, we have special abilities. But I want to ask something very important of you."

"Certainly, what is it?"

"We have decided that you have a chance to merge with one of us." the glower said. I stopped moving, and turned to face him.

"Could I have that in very simple English? Merge?"

"Alduin, what I mean is that you are one of the select few on Central that has been offered to combine with one of the glowers.A glower will 'enter' in your terms, and you will see things as we see things. You will inherit our powers, our sight, everything we are capable of doing. We will be completely connected." the glower appeared to turn and face me.

It was a strange sight. The glower was slightly taller than me, and hovered slightly off the ground,I was staring directly at it's top, and where the eyes would be for a normal person, and the glower just stood there, apparently seeing me. I wondered idly if he knew just how scared I had become, and the realised this was a stupid question. Of course it would.

"But for what purpose?"

"There are certain advantages for both. The only thing I can say is that should you accept, the merging is said to be agonizing for the non glower."

"You said I am one of the select few?" I looked, thinking on this.Keep him talking, it might actually make sense.

"There have been people we have approached with the offer. But all of them were special in their own way. You have recently come back from death, and you have many talents, the glowers think that to merge with you would help you immensely, and help us immensely."

"Who else has gone through this process?Who else has been offered?"

"Silverine.Three people have been asked, only he agreed to it."

"Anyone else?" I prayed, but silence greeted this question. After half a minute, the glower spoke again. My silence must have told him how I was feeling.

"Think on it, Alduin. You do not need to make your decision instantly."

"I'm still trying to deal with why." I said, looking away. The glower spoke softly.

"Dismiss the why, Alduin. Why is not important."

"That isn't true." I replied," I have learnt from many journeys that why is always important. Why did the raptors keep Kodey alive? Why does everyone treat us like we're dangerous? To learn from those is essential, and I am trying to work out why you want to, in essence, possess my body."

The glower pulsed."There is a difference between possession and us, Alduin. You will be in complete command of your body, as normal, but you will be given full connection with one of us.Although when we say this, we are only speaking from what the one who did it with Silverine told us. If there is any why, then think on this. You are an exploring sort of fellow, curious?"

"Yes."I said, and the glower whispered in my ear.

"We live here, do you not think we are curious?"

"Curious of the merge, or of more?"

"Both. But you are an excellent person, Alduin. You had the courage to offer help to a glower, even though you had none to give, you dug deep in that conversation, I dare say a merge would, eh hem, open your eyes."

The glower pulsed twice, and hovered away.

"Why me?" I asked myself, turning the other way and running towards the door Time had gone into. She opened it as soon as I knocked, looking at me in slight awe and fear.

"What did he want?"

"It wanted something I need to consider. Where's Silverine?"

"He's in the food store, what do you need him for?"

I turned down the corridor, and charged full tilt down the corridor. Time chased after me.

"No you don't, you're not leaving without an explanation."

"I'll give you one as soon as I come up with it." I skidded professionally to a halt, turning a corner and racing towards the door the food store was behind. I stopped outside, breathing heavily, just as the canine came up.

I opened the door, and I stood surveying the audience. Everyone looked around towards me, and they smiled.I kept my expression emotionless. Doran shouted cheerfully.

"Alduin, come in and join the fun!" the wolf cried.

"Not right now, Doran.I need to talk to Silverine."

"And what does Alduin want with me?" the Lupogriff asked from behind Blake and Salbar.

"Could I talk to you outside?" I asked politely.

"Now now, we're all friends here, you can ask me what you want here."

"I can't do that, Silverine, this is more than personal, this is important."

The Lupogriff looked confused, but then grinned again, bad move." Now, Alduin, if you are asking for time off, I have no..."

"Silverine! Now!"I shouted, levelling a finger directly outside the door. Time was shaking slightly. There was silence. The Lupogriff realised there was something very wrong with my attitude, and everyone was unsure why I was ordering Silverine.

The problem was that I had a very powerful voice,I could be heard over crowds, and that command had been spoken at almost full pitch. Draco made to stand with the Lupogriff, and I restrained myself slightly.

"Draco, while I appreciate your help, and your comforting presence, only Silverine is to hear this."

"Alduin,"Time began,"I was there when the glower wanted to speak to you, I demand..."

She got no further." Time Dancer, I am a little frazzled by what just transpired. You will not tell me what I can and cannot do, and right now, I want to talk to Silverine, alone!"

O.K., I had lost my temper a bit, but I was aware of the monumental offer the glowers had made me, and Silverine was the only person who could understand that there were priorities right now.Everyone had heard Time mention that I had been speaking to a glower, and silence fell. Time Dancer looked at Silverine as he walked over. Draco sat down, and the canine slumped, walking into the food store. Silverine shut the door behind him, and we walked about a hundred yards from the door.

"If you wanted to ask about a time for sex, we could have arranged it..." Silverine smiled. He knew there was something else, but was trying to keep things light hearted.

"Silverine, when the glower merged with you, did it hurt?"

The face of the Lupogriff became uncertain, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. I still didn't believe it either. But he was the only one who could explain it to me.

"They seriously haven't made that offer?" his voice was maybe half an octave higher, and he was looking deeply worried.

"They have, Silverine, and I need to know."

The Lupogriff looked away, trying to hide his face to me, before speaking to the wall." Alduin, what you have to realise is that I am resistant to pain. I don't feel things a fifth of the way you do. I have taken body blows from hideous creatures, I have been shot at, blown up and generally abused, but nothing I have ever faced was as bad as when that glower entered me.I thought I would die of the agony. I do not doubt your ability, but I have severe doubts whether you are capable of surviving that."

"So it was painful?" I said, ironically.

"Alduin, it felt like I was dying piece meal. You've seen what happens to the people that brush the glowers, and when the glowers indulge in their fun, hell, even I ejaculate on the spot. But it's nothing to when one of them entered me entirely." The Lupogriff turned, and he looked exceptionally concerned. His eyes were trickling tears slightly, as if in pain from the encounter. "Please don't tell me you want to."

"I don't know what I want, Silverine." I replied," I was made the offer, I am considering it. They told me you were the other, and I knew I had to ask you."

"You did the right thing.I will not tell you what happened, and I could not describe what it felt like. I will offer no advice on the subject, but to trust yourself. Now may I please go back to the food store?"

I smiled at the Lupogriff, he almost sounded like he was begging me.

"You sounded almost like a slave when you said that, Silverine."

"Trust me, Alduin, you manage this one, I would be your bitch." the Lupogriff."If you had a glower merged in you, I would have to, otherwise you could just force me. The glowers have almost limitless power, Alduin, and it is such a strange and yet wonderful experience, but there is a price to pay, and that is all at the start."

This was the same Silverine?

"Who are you, and what have you done with the real Lupogriff?" I asked, and Silverine chuckled, loudly. He smiled a bit as I said that, although he was still crying, and he whispered in my ear, leaning down.

"I have always made people submit, except Draco. When I was merged, it made little difference. I could have easily forced Draco to submit, except I thought it unfair to use the glower's power to do so. And even not during sex, things were all so different in so many ways. That's the thing you must keep in mind, Alduin. You are god when a glower is merged, but to get there..."

"Thank you, Silverine." I nodded, and smiled." Now, what shall we tell them in there?"

"Important glower business, it happens. I never told anyone I had been merged, with me it was hard to tell any change outwardly. You, on the other hand, everyone will know there's something different, so my suggestion is don't tell them until it actually happens." Silverine wiped a few idle tears from his eyes.

"You want to capture the looks on their faces with a camera?"

"Thanks for the idea." the Lupogriff winked, and I felt a whole lot better. We walked back to the food store, and everyone turned as we stood in the door way.

"The glowers wanted me briefly." Silverine announced untruthfully to everyone,"Nothing to worry about. Now, Brendan, what were you telling me, I kinda forgot."

I shuffled over to Doran, and sat down next to him. With one hand, I clapped his shoulder.

"Sorry, Doran, the glowers had me in a fix for a second there."

"All finished now?" the wolf asked.

"Not really, but it's no longer the problem I thought it would be." I smiled.

I spent an hour, maybe two hours,a raging argument in my head on it. To be gifted with the power of the glowers, and be able to view the universe the way they did, it nagged at my rampant curiosity.I was a bit scared of how much it would hurt, and what would happen when it left, but I gave it thought, and after the hour or so, I turned, and Silverine looked at me.He showed a smile at me, and gave a look of enquiry. I nodded once. His face lost it's smile, and he merely nodded back. No one else caught this, and we turned back to our respective conversations.

A glower arrived in the food store after dinner that night. We all turned, and there was the traditional shuffling as everyone got to their feet.

"Oh please, must we go through this every time?" the glower laughed at us, and we regained our seats. The glower hovered over to me and Doran, and I could tell every eye was following it's passage. Seats were hurriedly moved as it wafted gently towards mine and the wolf's table. It came to a halt, and bent down between me and Doran.

"Alduin?"

"Yes, Glower." I said firmly. The glower straightened.

"Excellent. Tomorrow morning then?"

"Yes glower. You have rearranged my timetable at work?"

"Of course. They are not aware, but we have full access to the data base of the store, breaking into it was a matter of child's play."

"So how long?"

"That is entirely up to you." the glower hovered over to Silverine, and I could tell by the Lupogriff's face that they were talking about something completely different.

Doran looked at me in slight awe."What was that all about?" the entire table was listening to me.

"That, Doran,"I said, looking at the glower and Lupogriff," was the end of the world as we know it."

"How?" the wolf looked worried.

"Only kidding. The glowers wanted me to do something, and I said yes. Now, Doran, do I have to force you to submit tonight,or will you volunteer to be my slave?"

Doran rose to the bait, he never failed to."Not a chance. I will have a pet human for tonight, and you will be tied up for the wolves to fuck. And such will it be for tomorrow, and the day after. I have a good feeling about this."

"Done." I replied firmly. Doran stopped, normally I would heckle him at this point.

"You aren't kidding, Alduin? I thought this was yet another of your jokes."

"Doran, my dear, pet wolf, while I am known for my fooling around, today is one day that I have no intention to joke. Tonight, me, you and Takori will have enough sex to last a week. Javid and Draco also."

"Why the sudden urge?"

"Like you said, I have a good feeling about it." I replied, smiling. Doran laughed, and cuffed me on the back with a paw.

"I will certainly be there, Alduin. It's been ages since I had a proper sex session."

"Likewise, Doran." I replied,"Tonight's a good night to rectify that."

Besides, I thought, if all goes wrong tomorrow, I might not get a chance to have sex again.

Takori, Draco and Javid all jumped at the prospect of an orgy. Salbar and Blake had retired to Salbar's room, and it was only a matter of time before one of them fucked the other.Simba was in the main room when we entered, and giving his cousin something to think about. Abigail was quite clearly surprised by our entrance, she had just thrust herself deep on the lion's cock, but I waved her on, and headed for the bathroom.

"Well,"Draco said,"Alduin, because of that display this afternoon, I think you should be given first choice.I have never seen anyone order Silverine like that."

Not without good reason, I thought inwardly, and then smiled."Excellent, I wanted to fuck you again." Draco sighed.

"I might argue that one." he said, but nevertheless began stripping. Alecto, Gareth, Winslo, Grant, Brendan, Alex, Ryan and Ryan, Landon and Billy entered at that moment.

"Now now," Alex said,"No one has an orgy around here with only five people."

"Winslo heard easily there was one taking place, and we thought we'd crash in." Brendan added.

"Then shut and lock the flaming door, before anymore come in." Takori pointed at the open door. I went forward, and drew my octo bonder as everyone began stripping, and securely bonded the door. Everyone looked at me.

"I hope you're not setting the tentacle monster on us." Brendan said.

"Nice idea, but not right now, Brendan." Ryan Lewis clapped a friendly hand on the dragon's shoulder.

"This just means no one else can come in." I said, tossing away the bonder, and the party began.

It had been the first time in some time I had enjoyed a huge orgy, Centralites really knew how to throw one. Draco obeyed my wish, and while Ryan Viper took advantage of my inattention and fucked me, I hunkered over the dragon as he lay down, and fucked him.

Landon went over to have it off with Doran, but was forcibly hauled by one leg by Draco to him, and the dragon began sucking the very surprised fox off.Ryan Lewis sat astride Draco and fucked Landon's ass, and as the fox cried out in surprise, Javid stepped over, and made Landon give head to him.

Doran knew I would come back to him, so he and Billy lay down ass to ass and fucked Gareth in both holes. Alecto rifled through one of the bathroom drawers, and pulled out a double ended dildo, sticking one end in Billy, and the other in Doran. Billy got his fellow bunny to come over, and began licking the tip of Winslo's cock. Alex stood against the wall and got Grant to suck his cock, and as the panther bent down to, Brendan thrust deep into the panther's ass.

Even this orgy began to lose it's effect on me. I was beginning to suffer the first stages of stage fright, if you could call it that.I just used the actor's term.I went a couple of rounds, and began to feel empty, hollow, and very scared. I stopped after a third round, and crept out with my octo bonder without anyone noticing. I went into my room, bonded my door, and sank into a restless sleep.

I had nightmares of what might happen to me, and when I awoke at six, I was in a cold sweat. I wondered as I wiped moisture off my face whether Silverine had felt the same before his.

There was a monumental bang on my door, and I heard Draco's voice.

"Alduin, are you alright, we heard a cry?" he called.

I was shivering, as though I had palsy, but called back."Fine, Draco.Just a nightmare."

"O.K., when are you getting up?"

"Soon." I replied.

"Well, we're going to the food store, so we'll see you there." Draco replied." It's going to be packed with everyone here, so I'll save you a seat."

If I got there, I wouldn't need a seat reserved, people would offer me theirs. He left, and I got dressed. I dressed myself in my normal black trousers, brown boots, and had my khaki green sniper shirt. I laid my weapons ceremonially on my bed after I made it,my dagger, sword, Eryx and C.E.O blaster, only taking my rifle with me. I left my central belt and all the gear on the bed also, and feeling so much lighter, walked out of the door, pausing only to unbond the door. As I walked into the corridor, Silverine was standing there, he had been waiting.

"Well, Master Alduin, sleep well?"

"Surprisingly well, although full of nightmares. Did you sleep this badly?"

"I knew of the uncertainty, I did not sleep at all that night." the Lupogriff replied. He put a hand on my shoulder, and we walked down the corridor together.

"Alduin, I want you to know this before we get there. I am truly proud of you. While I am very devoted of everyone on Central, I know that when you're with me, I don't have to worry about you, too much." he smiled as he said this last bit.

"Thank you, Silverine."

"I'm serious, Alduin. While I appear to be the raging Lupogriff, I am that. But you saw how I went for that snake when it attacked Kodey. I would do that for any of my Centralite friends, I never want to see any of you killed or grievously injured."

"I know that, Silverine."I nodded, looking down as we walked." I have always needed someone by my side, and I feel safe when it's you."

"You don't need anyone to protect you, Alduin. You have possibly been in more dangerous situations than most of us, and you're still in one piece. But I will always be there, so even if you find it too hard going, I will be there. As will Draco and everyone else. That's why I will be in the room with you when you merge with the glower. I will not be able to touch you, that would be foolish, but take comfort, I will be by your side."

"So how long does it last?" I asked. We were both unaware to a silent figure following us down the corridors. She was out of ear shot, she couldn't hear us, but she knew something was up, and she snuck after us.

After about ten minutes of walking, we came to a door I did not know, and I entered, Silverine closing the door behind me. A single light shone in the room, lighting the centre of the small room. Five glowers hovered in the room.My blood ran cold at the sight of this. The five together quailed all my spirit, and I was almost petrified. Silverine's hand across my shoulder stiffened. One of the glowers, I presume it was Keen, due to the intonation of the words, spoke.

"Alduin, you are prepared?"

"Keen, could anyone really be prepared for something like this? Be honest."

Keen laughed."Well, you know me by voice, I say you're more prepared than you think. I have the pleasure to merge with you."

"How long does it last, the merging?"

"It will take a couple of minutes to be complete. I would prefer to stay as long as possible with you, but all you have to do is ask."

"Very well, Keen. Have you got moral support too?" Nodding at the four glowers behind him, and Silverine managed a smile, but this attempt at humour went straight over the glower's, um, light.

"I will not be in any pain at all, it's a bit one sided. I am glad that Silverine overcame his fear of us, and volunteered to be with you."

"I am also glad he did, I need someone to be here." I nodded.

Keen pulsed with a chuckle." You still have your sense of humour, Alduin? Trust me, my friends are all morally supporting you, as I am. We all want you to get through this with no problem."

"Glad we all have the same hope." I breathed out. Silverine knew better than to interrupt the conversation. Keen turned to Silverine.

"You have told him what you experienced and your opinion?"

"Yes, glower.I did not stop him, or urge him, I just told him what I experienced during the merge, but not what I felt like while I had the glower with me."

"Nothing like a bit of prejudice." the glower smiled."Can we have an honest answer here?"

"What answer, to what question?" the Lupogriff replied curtly.

"Now, now Silverine, you don't need to play dumb. Do you truly have confidence in Alduin, that he will survive this?" the glower said this frankly, and I felt a brief down elevator feeling in my stomach. Silverine was silent for some time.

"I do not have the confidence in him that I had in me.I had all my own special abilities, and resisted most of the pain.He does not have that."

"So you would guess he would die?"

"Glower, why do you ask me?"

"Because you have experienced it, and you are the only one to have. Now, answer."

Silverine snapped to attention, but his pride burned fierce.

"Alduin is my friend, I will take faith in his judgement." he said, looking at the glower with defiance.

"You do not answer the question, Silverine. We need your answer just as much as we need his. This is about whether you feel he could." the glower pulsed in annoyance, and it's voice sounded firmer.

"Silverine,"I said softly," I don't care."

Silverine looked down."no. Not after what happened to me."

"I'll prove the lot of you wrong." I smiled, a touch of the fire rekindled by the honest answer. The glower pulsed once.

"That's right, Alduin, keep the spirit. Silverine is right though, any other human, any other creature, we would doubt too.But I have faith in you, and you have special abilities of your own. So let's find out whether our faith is good enough."

Silverine looked up, and he was smiling again.

"I've always wanted to be proved wrong on this.Go on, Alduin, and let's see you take this without raising a sweat."

I laughed." Done." I clapped his shoulder, and walked up to the glower, trying to keep calm. The glower pulsed twice.

"Very well done, Alduin." he said, and walked into me.
