Chapter 1: A special trainer
Bernadette sat back against a tree with a sigh, the sun was setting and she had just finished gathering wood and started the fire. Bernadette looked over at the sunset, the light glinting off of her bright blue eyes. After a moment or two, she called out "Alright girls, time to come out and relax..." Six beams of light shot from the luxury-balls on her belt and formed figures; a playful Lopunny named Lola, a sadistic Zoroark named Zoe, an affectionate Lucario named Lucy, a strong Mienshao named Michelle, a quiet Greninja named Griselda, and a shy Gardevoir named Gabriella. Lola stretched out with a smile and bounced on over to Gabby and gave her a hug. Gabby blushed lightly and said "must you do that every time?" To which Lola replied "Uh-huh!" and then squeezed her tighter. Zoe grinned and looked over her shoulder at Bernadette, the markings at the corners of her mouth making her grin look much more sinister "I'm going to go and hunt for a little food..." Bernadette groaned a little "could you actually kill it this time? I don't want to hear the squawking pleas of a pidgey..." Zoe faked a hurt look on her face "what? I would never do such a thing!" she couldn't help but giggle and walk into the woods "I'll be back with something." Bernadette sighed and called out to her as she walked off "Do come back soon..." Zoe stopped for a moment to turn back and reply "No promises."
Bernadette rolled her eyes and sighed, resting her head on the tree behind her. lola looked over at her and bounced over, sitting down next to her "You are thinking about him again, aren't you Bibbit?" she asked, a concerned look on her face. Bernadette looked over at Lola and replied with "Yeah..." It was hard not to think of Zakaya; the two of them were very close, he had taught his pokemon how to speak, encouraged them to come out of their balls on their own and on command, He inspired Bibbit, and all of his pokemon to be the best that they could be, to do better, to be better every day. After the tragedy that took his life, only two pokemon from his original team, Lola and Gabriella, stayed with Bibbit when he handed his pokedex over to her, making her a trainer, and his next of kin.
Bibbit felt a nudge and snapped out of her thoughts and looked over at Lola who said "Hey, I miss him too. He was good to us too you know... I'll go grab some berries, okay?" she said and stood up. Bibbit nodded an streatched out, laying down in the grass and looked up at the stars, then she closed her eyes.
Zakaya was not just important to his pokemon, but to the scientists of the world as well. He had developed a new pokedex storage program. His program piggybacked on the party limiting system and linked to a server of the user's choosing. This system had revolutionized the pokemon world; now trainers didn't need to carry bulky bags or tents, all they needed was the standard issue pokedex. Although the program was fully functional on it's own, newer pokedex models of the pokedex had a more functional matter conversion matrix built in to make it much easier and more precise with storage and retrieval. His particular model had a full holographic display and interface, making it one of the most sought after models, and after it was publicly released, one of the most expensive. Zakaya wasn't just a brilliant inventor, he was also at the front of pokemon equality. of course, pokemon battles is a big thing for pokemon, even in the wild. He focused more on promoting pokemon free will, even going so far as to letting his pokemon battle as they saw fit. He was definitely ahead of his time.
Bibbet suddenly felt like she was being watched and she opened up her eyes to see Lucy's muzzle just inches away. "Hi there..." Bibbit said and Lucy replied with a lick of her face "You were thinking about him, weren't you?" Lucy asked and Bernadette sighed "I can't hide anything from you, can I?" Lucy just smiled and let herself down, crossing her arms over Bibbit's chest and looking up at her "It's all in your aura after all.." she said and Bibbit giggled a little with a smile and wrapped her arms around the Lucario and held her close "I know, I know..." Lucy smiled and wagged her tail and nuzzled into Bibbit's neck a little.
The two of them laid in the grass for a few more moments before Lola came back with an armful of berries "I've brought some goodies~" Lola called out into the clearing. Bibbit, Lucy, Gabby, and Griselda all perked up a bit while Mercedes continues to go through her Tai-Chi like motions. Soon after, Zoe came in with a few limp pidgeys in her claws "I've got a few good ones here..." she stated with a wry grin on her face, blood dripping off of the carcasses. Zoe then grabbed a few good sized sticks and burned off the outer layer off of them, fire-hardening them and then proceeded to gut the pidgeys. Lucy turned her head away and held onto Bibbit tightly who held the lucario close to her chest "Shhh.... it's okay sweetie.... you still have a hard time with it, don't you?" Lucy nodded and whimpered quietly "I-it's their auras... they linger, then slowly fade away...." Bibbit sighed and gently pet Lucy to help calm her down.
"I'll give you some mochi, okay?" as soon as Lucy heard those words, her ears perked up and she lifted her head to look up at Bibbit, her tail wagging happily behind her. Bibbit smiled and pulled out her pokedex, and hit a few buttons to bring up the item menu, selecting the mochi and retrieved a few of those cold treats. Lucy sat up straddling Bibbit with her paws up in a begging position. Bibbit giggled a little and sat up, pressed the treat to Lucy's lips "open up~" she cooed out and lucy obeyd, sticking her tongue out. Bibbit then pushed the treat into the canine's mouth and Lucy wrapped her lips around the mochi and Bibbit's fingers, suckling on them a little and murring, closing her eyes. Bibbit smiled and slowly pulled her fingers out of Lucy's mouth and watched her as she closed her eyes and wagged her tail, sucking on the dough covered green tea ice-cream. Bibbit pulled lucy in closer to her body and waited patiently while she finished her treat and opened her mouth for another. Bibbit greated that open mouth with another mochi, again, slipping her fingers into the Lucario's mouth and letting her suckle on them a bit longer this time, before slowly pulling them free with a soft pop.
Lucy leaned in and went to lick at Bibbit's finger again, but stopped almost as soon as she started, then contented to suckling on the mochi in her mouth. Bibbit giggled and rubbed over Lucy's sides "you are cute when you are like that, you know that?" she asked. Lucy blushed at the statement and froze for a moment before continuing her suckling and her tail wagged a little behind her. Soon the smell of berries, thyme, some rosemary and cooking pidgey started to fill the air and lucy stopped her suckling and such and perked up, turning to face the fire, her tail absolutely still for a few moments before wagging like mad. Lucy quickly chewed 2-3 times and swallowed the mochi in her mouth before jumping up and dashing over to fire, and sat down, staring at the cooking pidgey and looked at Zoe with a pleading look on her face "Is it done yet?" She pathetically whimpered out. Bibbit walked on over and pet her head before sitting down next to her "It'll be done when it's done, give it a little more time Lucy..." Lucy's ears laid flat and and she dropped her head a little and sighed "...Okay..." she said and and leaned up against Bibbit.
Michelle finally stopped what she was doing and sat with the rest of the others, and the seven of them started to chow down and relax under the stars as the crimson light sank below the treelines, and indigo blackness of night creeping over the sky. The stars slowly becoming visible, the moon rising over the trees illuminating the ground and casting soft rays through the forest. Bibbit marveled in the beauty that is the night casting its shadow over the world for a little bit more when she was interrupted by Lola yawning and poking her "Hey! you should get the tent and sleeping bags out!" Bibbit shook her head to snap out of her thoughts and ground herself back into reality. She then brought up her pokedex and flipped through the menus and cast out a few tents with sleeping bags in them for the girls to sleep in.
Her team was not opposed to staying in their pokeballs, but they all prefered to sleep in the night's air. Gabriella and Griselda prefered to sleep in the same tent, Griselda never talks, so Gabby feels more comfortable around her, never having to make conversation. Zoe and Michelle sleep together, for Zoe can't quite figure Michelle out, so she keeps her claws to herself. Bibbit, Lucy and Lola all sleep together, tightly packed. Bibbit's motherly and caring nature helps Lucy feel safe, and Lola just feels that the other two options are boring. Lucy fell asleep quickly, holding onto bibbit tightly and resting her head on Bibbit's chest. Lola followed soon after, resting her head on her shoulder. Bibbit soon closed her eyes and sighed, the three of them did not sleep in a sleeping bag, for Bernadette's body was more than warm enough, and with Lola and Lucy being covered in fur, they always stayed nice and warm throughout the night.
Bibbit slowly woke up to Lucy gently suckling on her nipple. She started to feel her cheeks heat up and she then held lucy close and checked to see if she was awake; Lucy was fast asleep. Bibbit immediately thought that it was cute, Lucy suckling in her dream, but she decided to nudge her out of it before it got out of hand. Bibbit nudged Lucy a bit, whispering "hey" in her ear and she groaned and moved around a bit, but it wasn't enough, so she tried a gain, a little more aggressively. This time, Lucy moved around and slowly opened her eyes and froze when she realized what she was doing. The two of them looked at each other as Lucy's cheeks slowly turned color and burn. Lucy then recoiled away and hid her face "I'm sorry Bibbit! I didn't mean it..." she whimpered and curled up. Feeling the disturbance, Lola woke up with a groan, rubbing her eyes and sitting up. Bibbit quickly brushed herself down and turned to Lola "Lucy was just having a little bit of a dream is all." she explained. Lola groaned and got up "well, you two should get back to sleep... I gota pee anyway..." she said as she stepped out of the tent.
Bibbit turned to Lucy "It's okay, I'm not mad, now come on over here, okay sweetie?" she said then wrapped her strong arms around the smaller pokemon and pulled her in tight so that Lucy's back was against her chest. Lucy eeped a little bit and tried to struggle, but was easily overpowered by Bibbit. Lucy soon gave up and slowly started to relax with a sigh. "Relax, at least this way you can't accidently do anything..." Lucy was nodding at her reasoning when Lola ducked into the tent and stopped a moment seeing Bibbit hugging Lucy like an oversized plushie and shook her head with a sigh. "Looks like we get to make a poke-sandwich... With Bibbit as the meat." Lola teased as she slipped in behind bibbit and nuzzled into her neck, holding onto her with her dainty arms and the three of them slowly fell back asleep.
Bibbit woke up to the sun's rays washing over her face and Lucy's drool on her hand. Lucy and Lola started to stir and bibbit wiped the drool off of her hand and stretched a bit. "You sleep well Lucy?" she asked and lucy nodded, a blush forming on her cheeks as she wiped away the drool from her own lips. Lola stretched out and got up, slipping out of the tent and called out "Bibbit! the fire's out!" Bernadette sighed and slipped out of the tent "Why don't you start it up again then, Lola?" Lola snapped her head to her with an irritated look on her face "You are the only one here who can!" Bibbit rolled her eyes and walked over the the smoldering fire and kneeled down in front of it "Why not try rubbing two sticks together?" Lola had her mouth agape at the notion "B-but my fur might get singed!" Bibbit giggled and breathed life back into the glowing embers, moving the hot coals around to get the fire roaring once more. Bibbit walked over to lola and pet her head "Relax Lola, I'm teasing..." Lola huffed and crossed her arms "It's too early for that..." she said with a yawn an and leaned against her trainer. Bibbit ran her rough fingers through her long, stark white hair and sighed "I'd really like to get into a town soon so I can take a nice hot bath..." she thought out loud before calling out "Michelle! Could you be a dear and grab a little more firewood?"
Michelle popped out of her tent and nodded "right away, how much do we need?" Bibbit thought for a bit and replied "well, we will be packing up pretty soon, so just enough for maybe an hour or so, okay?" Michelle nodded and started to venture off into the forest "Right away..." Bibbit watched as the Mienshao disappeared in the trees and thought to herself "I still need to break through to that girl...." She shook her head and went back to the fire, making sure it didn't go out again. She then called out again "Zoe, could you go out and get me a few logs? I have an idea" Zoe walked up to Bibbit "How big do you need them?" she asked and Bibbit thought for a moment "About this big or so..." and she gestured with her hands "Oh, take my pokedex with you, you remember how to use it, yes?" she asked as she tossed it over to the Zoroark, who nodded "Oh, but of course I do!" she said as she caught the device "Good, just store them away for me when you get them, okay?" Zoe grinned "Darn, I was hopping that I'd get to carry them back, oh well" she replied with the utmost sarcasm. Bibbit rolled her eyes "Just get the logs and be back.... without any presents, am I understood?" Zoe sighed and started to walk off "Oh, you are just no fun at all..."
Bibbit sighed and shook her head, looking around at the tents that were still up and thought out loud "In hindsight, I probably should have put those away...." she shrugged and got up stretching out some more, looking over the rest of her team waking up. Griselda had dashed up into a tree and stood on a branch, the sun highlighting her silhouette against the sky, her black skin glinting here and there in the light. Griselda gazed over the land for a moment and then looked back at Bibbit and held up her hand, forming a horizontal bar that rotated up clockwise about one 6th of a circle. She then pointed, the water collapsing and shooting off in a direction before disappearing. Bibbit smiled and nodded "So, about 4 hours that way.... that shouldn't be to bad." She said with content and looked back at the rest of the group pulling themselves together "Griselda says that we should only be a few hours away from town, so let's make ourselves nice and pretty for the people, yes?" Lola giggled and stood up "Mmm... They are expecting a group of pretty girls, let's give them what they expect~" she giggled and bounced over to Lucy and started to groom the Lucario. Lucy blushed a little but nuzzled into the grooming and petting. Griselda brushed herself off a bit and Gabriella smoothed herself down and looked at herself to make sure she was nice and presentable.
Soon after, Michelle and Zoe came back with empty hands. Zoe tossed the Pokedex to Bibbit who caught it. She looked at the small fire and rising sun "I'd hate to say it Michelle, but I don't think you actually needed to go grab more wood... We are going to be leaving soon after all." Michelle nodded "Understood." she said simply. "Zoe, Michelle, make sure you are presentable, the town is expecting us after all." Michelle nodded and started to groom herself, Zoe grinning and brushing her claws through her fur. Bibbit flipped through her inventory and cast out the logs, splitting them down the end part way and wedging them open with sticks, creating swedish candles and casting them back into inventory along with the tents. Smiling, she brushed down her own form to make herself more presentable. She looked over at Lucy and Lola, and realized they had traded places, Lucy was now brushing through lola's fur and grooming her.
Bibbit smiled stretched her arms out "Alright, let's all go and meet the people of Calabaster!" the rest of the team all cried out and moved in closer to Bernadette. Griselda put the remains of the fire out and dashed up into the trees, Zoe slipping in the trees themselves. The others walked close to Bibbit, Lucy and Lola up ahead of her a bit, Gabriella and Michelle close behind. Gabby blinked and teleported closer to Bibbit. "Bibbit, are you sure they'll accept us at Calabaster?" Bibbit turned her head to the side a little to address Gabby "Oh, they'll be happy to see us, they are expecting us at the entrance of the city after all." Gabby nodded and sighed "I'm not sure they'll accept you as the replacement for Zakaya..." Bibbit giggled and pet Gabby's head "Oh, don't worry too much, he was adored, I'm sure they'll accept anybody that he chose to be his next-of-kin..." Gabby sighed and nodded "I suppose you are right...."
Bibbit sighed and looked down the road ahead of them "It has been almost 3 years now, I did kinda stay out of the public eye during all that... I just hope I'll be able to interact with humans well again..." she trailed off and she felt Gabby hug her from the side "Oh, stop, I'm sure they'll love you..." Bibbit grinned and pulled Gabby in close "I thought you were the one all concerned about us making a good impression." A slight blush started to creep over her cheeks "Hey! that's no fair!" Bibbit giggled and squeezed her gently "But I am a little nervous, it is a big step for all of us after all." Gabby nodded and looked over at Lucy and Lola "It seems that those too are taking it well though..." Gabby stated. "Oh, you know how Lola is, she just loves attention, and Lucy is adventurous and trusts us. Michelle back there doesn't really care one way or the other-" Michelle nodded once "-Zoe in the woods over there just sees this as something new, Griselda up there is pretty much in the same boat as Michelle, really the only two here that hare having a hard time with it." Gabby nodded and let go of Bibbit "So it seems..." Bernadette sighed "I must say, it is rather exciting though" Gabriella smiled and nodded "It is definitely a very big step... for everyone..." Bibbit nodded once more "Indeed it is... indeed it is."
When they got much closer to the city, their plan was set in motion. Lola and Lucy walked up to the cameras first and waved at everyone, Lola posing for the cameras, Lucy just really being her cut self. Soon after, Michelle walked up and began her meditative motions, many of the cameras going nuts capturing every motion, fluid and elegant as she moved through the poses and motions for the cameramen. Gabby then teleported into the middle of them with a smile and a soft blush, still a little shy from all the attention. Zoe would slip into view from out of the woods with her sinister grin, posing here and there for pictures. Griselda then jumped out of the treetops and landed right in front of a cameraman holding a water shuriken in her hand, then stood up and struck a pose. Finally, Bernadette walked in with a smile. A camera crew walked up clapping, the group of people there for the arrival cheering on "Wow! What a show! Your team is fantastic!" Bibbit giggled and held out her hand to shake "Oh, stop now, we aren't all that great..." the interviewer shook her hand "But it is true! So tell me, how does it feel to be the first ever Pokemon in history to become an official trainer?" Bibbit looked off to the sky with a smile, the sun glinting off of her Blue eyes, her scarlet feathers ruffling in the soft breeze "Well, it is what it is, I'm a trainer just like anyone else really..." replied Bernadette, the trainer Blaziken.
