CH17. Feelings...
Phillip slowly opened his eyes to find Scrit lying beside him with worried eyes. The dog's ears perked when he seen the boy look at him. "How you doing?" The anthro asked softly. Wasn't a moment longer that Phillip felt a searing headache. The boy gritted his teeth and buried his face into the palm of his hands. The dog let out a whine, he moved closer to the boy to place his paw onto the human's cheek. "Deep breaths." He said softly.
Phillip was breathing hard as sweat started to build up on his forehead, he took a few breaths and instantly the pain was gone. He looked up to the dog and gave a weak smile. "How long was I out?"
"All night." The dog said. "Your family was worried sick when Blaferis carried you in and took you right up here. Even though Blaferis and Husvor assured that your fine your family insisted you go to the hospital."
The boy opened his mouth to ask where the other two were but he had a gut feeling that one was in the kitchen and the other was sitting in the living room. In that moment he could tell that they knew he was finally awake and were coming up to see him. Confusion clouded his mind, he looked at the door just before it opened and the two walked in. Husvor slowly walked to Phillip and knelt beside the boy. "How you feeling?"
"I...I'm." Phillip started, a rush of emotions flooded him, the sense of being worried and protection but most of all, which surprised him he felt intense love for him, he looked around at them to realize that it was coming from both Husvor and Blaferis. "I'm mainly confused." He said truthfully.
"I know." Blaferis said, he came and kneeled beside Husvor. "Just take your time." He said softly.
Phillip looked up at the ceiling and just laid there, he tried to sort out all the confusion. He looked over to Scrit and frowned when he could barely feel anything from him. It was as if Scrit had put up a little resistance to the boy. The dog whined while moving closer to rub his nose on the boy's cheek. "You won't be able to read anyone else as good now."
"But wh..." Then it dawned on him. He looked over to the two next to him with a shocked look. "You guys are?"
They both nodded but it was Husvor that reached down and ran his fingers through Phillip's hair. "Our human." He said softly. The feeling of love intensified while they all looked at each other.
Blaferis leaned down and planted a small kiss on top of the boy's forehead. "Things will be a little bit harder on you for a while till you can get a hold of the bonding."
Phillip slowly started to sit up while the two reached out and helped him. He let the information sink in for a while, 'I'm bonded' He told himself over and over to himself.
"Yes you are." Blaferis said.
Phillip instantly looked up to the wolf with wide eyes. "You can..."
The wolf nodded. "We can see what you thinking in our heads as clear as day."
Phillip looked over to Husvor. 'My human.' Phillip heard in his head. The boy smiled as he reached up and gave both anthros a big hug. The both laughed as they hugged him back. Phillip leaned back with a big smile that slowly faded when he seen the scratches and scars left in their fur from the fighting. Phillip reached up and slowly traced his fingers over them.
"Don't worry." Husvor said softly, he reached up and grabbed the boys hand in his paw. "Now that we are bonded they will heal a bit quicker."
Phillip took a deep breath. "But I can still feel the pain that your small injuries are giving you." He moved his hand over a long scar on the Husky's forearm.
"I know." Husvor said. "But trust me, in a few days you won't even notice that we had been in a fight."
Blaferis nodded in agreement. "It's kind of complicated, has to do with us all sharing each other's strength and life. It helps that now our bodies isn't working so hard by itself that we live longer and can be much stronger by taking what we need off of our partners."
"We figured that's why we, all of a sudden near the end of our fight, had a boost in strength that made me even with Blaferis and..."The Husky laid his ears back a bit and frowned. "Kind of made you too weak. We didn't know that we bonded with you at the last minute and all your strength went to us."
The boy nodded, it made sense to him that he lost so much strength and passed out. Phillip soon looked over to Scrit. He could instantly see all the pain in the dog's eyes from not bonding with the boy. Phillip reached out and brought the dog into a hug, the Dalmatian tried to hold back the tears but couldn't help but let a few slide.
"I was hoping that I would be the one." The dog said softly.
Phillip held him a bit tighter. "I know, but we're still going to be friends like I promised."
The dog nodded and gave him one final squeeze before leaning back. "I'm glad, I was really worried that you'd stop talking to me."
"You know he isn't that type of person." Husvor said.
"I know, just..."
"It's okay." Phillip reassured him with a pat on the shoulder. He looked up at the two and smiled. "Think I should head down stairs to see mom and dad?"
"Oh gods please do." Blaferis said. "She's been insisting non-stop about taking you to the hospital."
"Tell me about it." The Husky started to rub his face with his paws.
Phillip just laughed at the two, he knew they weren't joking and could see how much she had been driving them crazy. He pushed himself up onto his feet with a little help from Blaferis. The boy took a step forward but stopped, he frowned a little and moved his hand down to his leg and rubbed his hand over it.
"It's the bonding, you'll have to get use to it." Husvor chuckled.
Phillip just shook his head as he walked out of the room without his cane. Taking two steps at a time he came into the living room and was engulfed by his mom. "Oh honey I was so worried." She said while she stepped back and started to look over her son. "Are you okay, do you need to go to the hospital?"
"Mom I'm fine." Phillip said. The sounds of the anthros could be heard behind him as they came down the stairs.
"I Know, they keep saying that."
"Cause we know him better than anyone." Husvor said as he passed.
Sarah put her hands on her hips. "A mother knows everything about her son." She said with confidence.
"True, but bonded humans and anthros knows their deepest secrets." Blaferis came up behind Phillip and gave him a tight hug.
Sarah looked confused. "You guys..."
"Actually us three." The Husky said from the couch.
"How did this happen now, shouldn't you have bonded a while ago with them?" She asked.
Blaferis took a deep breath. "That's the thing, we should have but for some reason he bonded with two. This isn't common but has happened in the past. I think it was because of us two." The wolf looked at Husvor who only nodded in agreement.
"It could be shortly after we told each other how we truly feel for the boy that we both bonded to him." The husky said.
'We love you.' Phillip heard from both anthros. Phillip had to look down so they couldn't see him blush so much.
"Well I'm happy that you're alright." She walked back up to her son while the wolf let go of him so she could give him another hug. Phillip returned the hug but a loud rumble came out of nowhere and made the wolf laugh. Sarah chuckled as she stepped back. "I'll make you something to eat."
Phillip and Blaferis sat back onto the couch while Scrit followed Phillip's mom into the kitchen to help her out. The boy laid his head onto the wolf's shoulder while he reached up and grabbed the Husky's paw. He sat for a while and smiled when he remembered what they said to him. 'I love you both.' He said in his mind hoping that they would have heard it. He was responded with a tight squeeze of his hand and Blaferis leaned down and kissed him on the forehead. Phillip smiled and leaned back but a small headache started to comeback when he felt the emotions of the two intensify again.
"I don't see how you guys aren't having trouble with this." He said while he rubbed the side of his head.
Husvor chuckled. "Who said we're not having problems. Might not seem like it but your almost yelling at us."
Blaferis chuckled. "While you were out we both had the same headache for a while. It'll just take some time to get used to it and it'll go away"
"Okay." Phillip said while he tried to settle down. He could smell the roast beef from the kitchen.
Blaferis looked down at the boy and winked. "Another perk."
"I'm actually going to like this." The boy responded.
The two anthros laughed, Sarah came back into the living room with two plates of sandwiches while Scrit carried two more. Sarah handed the two to Blaferis and Phillip while Scrit handed one to Husvor while he settled onto the floor with his own.
They all ate mainly in silence while Sarah went into the dining room to sit down and read a newspaper. "So what we going to do today?" Scrit asked, trying to break the silence.
"Well we can head to the base near by and see if we can get our swords fixed." Blaferis said while glancing at Husvor.
The husky nodded. "We could but you think it wise to ask the family to go make two trips for us?'
"Yeah...just a thought though." The wolf responded.
"I don't think they would mind." Phillip stated.
Blaferis leaned down and nuzzled the boy. "I know they won't but they have already done enough for us."
"Oh..." Scrit's ears perked up. "Did you guys notify the guild that you bonded?"
"Yes." Husvor said. "We contacted them this morning to let them know what happened."
Scrit looked over at Blaferis. "Did you tell them about the fight?"
"No, I'll talk to the captain after we get back." The wolf stated. "It's going to be a bit hectic when we get back for a little while."
"Why's that?" Phillip asked, he could feel the warmth of the two radiate into his chest and a vision of a house popped up into his head all of a sudden. "You mean we get to..."
"Yep." Husvor said with a chuckle. "Those that bonded don't stay in the barracks, they get their own place in the village."
"So will it be ready when we get back to the guild?"
"Most likely, they have places available all the time, I'm more concerned on what rank they're going to be putting you at." Blaferis leaned against the armrest while Phillip sat up and was staring at the floor. Both Husvor and Blaferis could feel the concern he was having on being given rank.
"I'm going to be higher rank than most." The boy stated.
"Possibly." The husky responded.
"And also you're going to have new wrist guards too." Scrit added.
"New ones?" Phillip asked.
"Yep..." The Dalmatian leaned back and rested against the wall. "You'll get one to represent Blaferis and Husvor and in return they will each have a wrist guard that will represent you."
Husvor chuckled. "Yeah so a lot of new things is going to happen to us when we get back."
"But don't concern yourself with all that right now." The wolf wrapped his arm around the boy's shoulder and pulled him close. "We're on vacation and we don't need to worry about that till we get back to the guild."
Phillip nodded and turned his head to the floor. He thought about what it's going to be like back at the guild when Husvor took the boy's chin and moved it up so he could look at him in the eyes and smiled. "What did Blaferis just say?" The Husky chuckled and was about to lean in and kiss the boy when the front door swung open. Both James and Mike walked in and stomped their feet at the door before continuing into the house.
"See your up." Mike said, he walked by and patted Phillip on the shoulder.
James came in and hopped into the seat beside the couch. "So what happened?" They all looked at each other and smiled, Scrit even laughed. "What?" James asked still confused.
"Well...hard to say this without just saying it." Phillip said as he scratched the back of his head. "I've bonded."
James looked shocked for a moment before he started to smile. "Really? Which one you going to have to deal with?" he laughed.
"Well that's the problem." Phillip chuckled.
Both Husvor and Blaferis scooted closer to the boy. "He's going to have to put up with us both." Blaferis announced.
James looked between the two anthros. "But I thought you can only bond to one?"
"Most of the time yes, but once I a great while someone bonds to two." Husvor responded.
"Ok, cool." James said. "So I take it mom didn't tell you yet?"
"Tell me what?" Phillip asked.
James chuckled. "Figures, she was so worried about you she didn't mention it to your friends." James stood up and started to head to the stairs. "We're invited to Janet's Christmas party tonight."
Phillip groaned and sat back into the couch. "Who's Janet?" Scrit asked since Husvor and Blaferis already know who the person is.
"She's my aunt that lives in the next county over, she's loaded and invites a bunch of people over to her place for a Christmas party. It's a way to show off her money."
"Take it you don't like her." The dog whined.
Husvor shook his head. "He's more concerned of the ones that used to go to his school, they picked on him at the party all the time and most of the parents just looked away."
"Well you won't have to worry about that cause we are going to be there with you." Blaferis said. Phillip felt safe with the anthros.
"Yeah I know." The boy smiled.
Sarah walked in and was talking on the phone as she looked at the group. "Oh just to let you know..."
"Party tonight." Blaferis, Husvor, and Phillip said in unison.
Sarah just looked at them speechless, "That's kind of creepy guys, please don't do that again." Phillip looked over at Scrit who had his ears back and looked horrified. The three couldn't help but laugh.
"Right..."Sarah said as she held he hand over the receiver. "Anyways, you guys is more than welcome to attend." She said to the anthros.
"We'd love to go." Blaferis said with a smile, the other three nodded in agreement.
"Good." She said and turned to head back into the kitchen while starting up her conversation again.
"This is going to be fun." Scrit said his tail wagging. "I'm starting to like Christmas." The comment made the boy laugh. In an instant Phillip slipped and thought of something he wanted to surprise the anthros with.
Both Blaferis and Husvor's eyes widened and they sat up to look at each other. "I call blue!" They both yelled but Blaferis was a tad bit faster.
Scrit's ears perked up. "What you guys talking about."
Phillip just groaned and put his face in his hands while the two started to bicker about who's getting what. With a sigh Phillip looked up to the dog and gave a small smile. "I bought you guys all bracelets for Christmas presents. But I see I can't hide anything from these two. So there will be a blue, grey, and a black one." Phillip stood up and stretched before looking down at the dog. "Which one would you like?"
"Well I would like the blue one but guess those two..."
"Done."
"What!" The two anthos yelled at the same time. And both stood up to tower over the human.
"I called it first." The wolf said.
Husvor gave the wolf a little push. "But it would look better on me."
Phillip stepped up and poked his figure onto both their chests. "Yes but you both ruined a surprise that you guys could have kept a secret but since you both blew it, Scrit gets first choice. Now with that said l best go shower and get ready for the party." Phillip said as he started to walk to the stairs the two anthros whined and followed there human up and complained the whole way while Scrit was still sitting with a big grin and tail wagging.
.......................................
The party was just as Phillip would have expected it to be, lots of adults chatting about stuff he could care less about, kids running around, and Christmas music playing in the background. One thing he wasn't expecting was some of the teens hanging around him and the anthros.
"Yeah we're good friends with Phillip." One of the girls said as she looked up to Husvor with a big smile.
"Really?" The Husky responded.
"Yep." A boy answered. "So how long you guys here for?"
"Just till after Christmas then we have to head back." Scrit said.
The group of teens gathered around closer to the anthros. "Why so soon?" One of them asked.
"Cause we're needed back at the guild." Phillip answered even though the teens didn't pay attention to him. More kids came over to talk to the anthros to the point he was forced away. Phillip just sighed and moved over to the wall and leaned against it, his head started to throb so he wanted to get away from the noise for a bit.
"Can you guys show us your element?" The same boy from earlier asked, a bunch of them agreed and begged for the anthros to show them. When Blaferis declined they all turned to Phillip. "Have them show us their element." The boy ordered.
"Cant." Phillip simply said.
"Why, aren't we friends?" The boy asked, Phillip opened his mouth to answer but was cut off. "If we were then you'd have them show without hesitation."
Everyone around agreed. Phillip looked up to his anthros for a brief moment and seen the uncertainty in their eyes and could feel their confusion. He looked back at the boy in front of him, who had his arms crossed as if expecting him to do as he was told. "Is that why you guys wanted to be my friend, so you can be around them more?" he gestured to his anthros.
"No, that's just a perk." A girl answered. "So have them show us." A bunch of the kids said 'yeah.' And 'hurry up.'
Phillip clenched his fist in frustration. "I will not have them do anything they don't want to do. They are my friends, not circus animals." Before Phillip could go any further he got soothing emotions and thoughts from Blaferis and Husvor, he looked up and seen them both smiling to him and with a jerk of their heads Phillip made his way through the crowd of teens. The two anthros walked through the house and nodded towards guests as they both made their way out the back door and out the back. Phillip followed them off the porch and into the knee deep snow. The two stopped and waited for their human to catch up to them, as soon as he was in reach they both pulled him close and wrapped their arms around him. In an instant the air and snow rushed around him like a whirlwind as they held him tighter. Phillip smiled and relaxed as he buried his face between the two.
"If they don't respect how you feel then they're not your real friends." Husvor whispered.
"I know." The boy whispered.
Blaferis leaned down and licked the boy across the cheek. "We'll always respect how you feel."
Phillip couldn't help but smile. "I know." He said once more. The two let go of their human and as they did the air calmed down and the snow fell slowly around them, Phillip looked up to the dark sky and smiled as he watch the snow fall. After all was calm again he looked up to his anthros. "Let's go back in." They both nodded and followed Phillip back into the house, Scrit was waiting for them at the door and his tail started to wag when they approached.
"Enjoy your little chat." The dog asked.
"Very." Phillip smiled as he walked inside and gave the dog a hug. The rest of the night Phillip spent, to his surprise, talking to some of the adults. He told them about his experience with the Users, In turn they gave him some advice and told him to be safe which Blaferis and Husvor intervened and guaranteed that he would always be safe. A wave of protection came over Phillip in an instant and he couldn't help but blush. His chat continued with some of the adults and when one of the kids came up to him the parents would say that the adults were talking and send them on their way. Phillip couldn't help but laugh that they considered him an adult.
"It's because you're living like an adult." Blaferis said to Phillip while they were eating in the living room.
Phillip swallowed his food before continuing. "I know that, just funny that they see me an adult and not the others even though we are the same age." He laughed.
"Yeah can see that being funny." Scrit responded.
"So how's my nephew." They heard as a woman came rushing up to him with open arms.
Phillip smiled as he stood up and gave her a hug back. "Doin good auntie."
"I see that." She squeezed one of his arms. "You gaining muscle I see."
Phillip laughed and pointed to the anthros. "Well they keep me busy." They all stood up and Phillip introduced them to her, she shook their paws and motioned for them to sit, she sat down next to Phillip on the arm rest after they all got comfortable.
"I was a bit surprised when I heard that Phillip left for the Users, Never in my dream did I think he would be the one to make it." She patted his shoulder.
"Think it was a bit of a surprise for all of us." Phillip chuckled, he took a bit of the bbq rib and looked up at his mom and dad that was talking to some of the other folks. "But they took it pretty well."
"Ha..." His aunt said, Phillip looked up at his aunt confused. "Your mom called me almost a whole week about you being away."
"Really?"
"Yes, even had them over to talk for a bit, even if your dad doesn't show it he does care about you. He spoke nothing but good things about you." Phillip looked back at his parents, this time they looked over at him and smiled. The boy returned the smile back to them.
"Well dad has a funny way of showing it." The boy laughed.
"That because your father takes after his father. Your grandpa was an old sour goat." All the anthros looked up at her and had their heads tilted to the side. Both Phillip and his aunt busted out laughing. "It's another way of calling someone that is old and cranky."
"Ah." Blaferis said and went back to eating. "Oh by the way this food is amazing." He said after he swallowed a mouth full.
"Thank you." She said before turning her attention back to Phillip. "Like I said before. They do love you, but your father is too stubborn to show it."
"I can tell." Phillip said, he finished the last bit of his food and placed his plate onto the table while he waited for the others to finish.
"So what you get them for Christmas?" She asked.
"Umm..."Phillip thought for a second.
"You didn't get them anything?"
Phillip shook his head. "Kind of hard to get them anything when I have to have them drive me."
"Then that's settled...tomorrow I'll pick you up and we will go." She stood up and straightened out her dress.
Phillip stood as well. "You sure?"
"Absolutely, and you can bring all your friends with you." She gestured to the anthros before giving Phillip one more hug and said she had to check her guests and left.
"Looks like we're going shopping tomorrow." Phillip said with a smile as he settled back down on the couch.
"Sounds fun." Scrit said. Phillip could hear all their tails wagging.
.......................................
The party went on for a few more hours, it was a little after midnight when the group came walking into the house. Phillip and the anthros said their goodnights and walked into their room, Blaferis closed the door before he stripped his shirt. Phillip undressed and crawled under his blankets followed by Husvor and Scrit. Blaferis was the one that turned off the light and crawled under the covers that he was now sharing with Phillip. Phillip reached over and took Husvor's blanket and draped it over himself as well. Both anthros smiled and moved closer to their human and engulfed him into their arms. Phillip moved onto his back and hugged both arms as much as he could.
"Love you." They both whispered to the boy.
"Love you both too." He said quietly back. "Night Scrit."
"Night." He could hear the dog and a few thumps of the dog's tail.
Phillip leaned over and kissed his anthros each on the cheek before laying back down and closing his eyes, he could feel them both lick his cheek. A smile spread across his face before letting sleep take him.
To be continued...........
