The Breaking point: Chapter 15
#15 of The breaking point
Before anyone could stop me I plunged the saber down, sticking the blade mere inches from where I was saying I was going to hit. The blade stuck firmly in the soft soil, and I saw Austin had passed out. Star had erupted into tears and tried to wake Austin up. I walked over to my bunk strapping on my pistol, and walked past the others and out the door. They knew where I would be heading, and knew to leave me alone.
After about 4 hours, I heard the first signs of them coming to find me. It was about dinnertime, and I knew they would want me to be there. I had finished thinking about the problem.
But you want to know the sad part? I only really felt relief. I knew that I was not interested in her, but for Drake. Yea, I was pissed for how she had broken it off, and I was furious with Austin, all trust being lost. It was not going to be easy for him to regain my trust, if he even could.
"You know, I am not completely deaf." I said, and I was surprised to see who came out from behind one of the trees nearby.
"Hey Jonathan." I said, as he sat down next to me. He had on a pair of BDU pants, with a plain green t-shirt with some kind of rock band on it that I had never heard of. He also had a strong looking oak staff with him, which I guessed to be a walking stick.
"Howdy. How are you doing?" He asked, looking at me with his large brown eyes full of concern.
"Just peachy." I muttered, my mood slightly dampened, but not overall crushed.
"Okay. Just checking. Dinner will be in half an hour. Mind if we talk till then?" He asked.
"Sure! Might be good for me." I said.
"Sweet! So what is new with you?" He asked.
"Not too much. Been busy keeping up after you sloppy bastards, but I have tried my best."
"And your best is pretty damn good. So what kind of music do you listen to?" He asked.
"I like orchestral and rock and roll. You?" I asked.
"Rock and roll! Who do you like?" He asked.
"ACDC, Bob Sager, Queen, and a few others. You?" I asked.
"I am a HUGE Beatles fan! Do you like them?" He asked.
"God no! They sound like teenage boys who haven't hit puberty on a high!" I said. He looked at me, and then quickly tackled me to the ground.
"Take that back!" He yelled, trying to pin me. While he was slightly faster than me, I had more than 30 lbs over him, and I was bigger than he was.
He ran over to the tree, and quickly climbed it. I lost him in the branches, and I stopped moving to see if I could see or hear him.
"GIVE IN TO THE BEATLES!" He shouted, landing on top of me. I grunted, and quickly threw him over my shoulder.
"No! And now you are my prisoner!" I said, as I walked back to camp. He struggled slightly, but I warned him I would handcuff him, and he just climbed on my back for a piggyback ride the whole way back. I couldn't help but laugh, feeling much better than I had earlier.
Once I saw the camp come into sight, with my Scottish flag flapping in the slight breeze from on top of the barracks to the small smoke column snaking its way into the sky, I smiled, and thanked Jonathan for helping me.
"No problem. You helped me in a much greater time of need. Besides you got me one hell of a hotty!" He said, as he hopped off my back and ran over to Danny, who stood at the entrance of the camp with Sam and Drake. I smiled, and jogged over to them.
"Hey! You feel better yet grumpy?" Sam asked, and I scowled at him mockingly.
"Ass."
"No, I think he is a horse." Drake said, laughing I heard Sam chuckle, and Jonathan giggle. Danny smiled over at us, and I saw such happiness in his eyes that any hatred in my mind was forgotten about for now.
"Oh, you might want this." Sam said, picking up my saber, which had been on a table behind him. I smiled, and took it from him, and re-sheathed it.
"Thank you, you are quite the gentleman." I said, bowing to him. He smirked back, and we all headed in so we could get dinner.
Dinner was smaller; in preparation for the feast we would have tomorrow night. We had found a few pigs, and we were going to have fresh ham, with some bacon. Also, we had chickens and some leftover deer meat. We had plenty of vegetables from both the garden we had planted, as well as from the cans from the military trucks we occasionally raided.
"Hey Chris!" I heard, and turned to see Nick and April walking arm in arm, their plates balanced in their hands.
"Hey. And before you ask, I am fine. I just want to move on." I said, and he nodded. I smiled to April, and asked how she was.
"I am fine, thank you." She said politely, but barley audible. Even before I could say something, Nick spoke up.
"You are going to have to speak up around the old man. He is a little deaf." He said, and she giggled.
"Funny. Har har. Go eat your food." I said, and he patted me on the back and went to go find somewhere to eat.
I got my portion, and sat next to Drake, as far as possible from Star and Austin, both who kept glancing over at me nervously.
"They are worried that you are going to throw them out." Josh said, as he sat down next to me. He stole my roll, quickly shoving it in his mouth. I scowled at him, before speaking.
"Do you think I should throw them out?" I asked.
"Eh, I would if it were me. You have everyone's support. Hell, I am sure that you can have half of these guys tear them in half, while the other half cheers. But if you do that, I want to be the part that tears them apart." He said cheerfully.
"What do you think?" I asked, turning to Drake.
"I would love nothing more than tearing his eyes from his skull, making her watch." He growled, and I saw Austin glance at me and noticing that I was looking at him, and he quickly looked down.
"What are you doing with them." I heard a voice from behind me demand. I didn't like that tone, and I turned around to see Bridgett glaring down at me.
" I am sorry, but I do not believe that you were privy to this conversation." I said sternly, and she huffed.
"I just wanted to know, that's all. No need to be so aggressive." She said.
"I am not being aggressive. But you are wearing thin on my patience." I said, and I heard Drake growl, and Josh was scowling next to me. Garret was also looking at her sternly, and she still didn't get the hint to bugger off!
"No wonder why she left you for Austin." She said loudly, and stormed off. My hand tightened on my pistol grip, and I saw looks of shock fill everyone's faces.
"That Bitch!" I heard, and turned to see Sean with a look of fury etched on his muzzle.
"Leave her be. If she continues to act in such a way, she will be asked to leave. And I am more than willing to bet that I can find support." I said, and everyone nodded.
But what I saw next surprised me even more than I thought Bridgett could. She sat down next to Star, and scowled at me from across the fire ring.
I ignored her, and before anything else could get worse, I told the others that I would be going to bed. Besides, I had one more surprise for them in the morning, and I had to get up early in order to pull it off!
I slept outside again, because the second portion of the barracks was being complete. With Rolf sleeping in the actual sleeping bag with me, and Jaeger lying close behind me, I fell into a peaceful sleep, with the alarm on my watch set.
Beep*beep*beep*beep!
I groaned, because it was way too early for this shit. But it kept going off, and Rolf whined, so I finally got up, shutting the alarm off.
"You ready boy?" I asked, scratching Rolf behind the ears. He barked happily, and ran off to take care of his business. "What about you?" I asked, looking over at Jaeger. He snorted, and got up. I patted him on the side, and quickly got changed.
I got into a simple pair of BDU's, the same color as the Marine Corps, because it blended into the forest much better than the regular army ACU's. I also attached both of my knives, one on my chest rig on my right side, one in my left boot. I strapped the tomahawk to my waist on the left side, and then finally strapped both sabers to either side of my waist.
I then embraced my Scottish side, painting my face with blue and black zigzag stripes, and then walked over to the storage shed, to unveil what I had been hiding for so long.
Bagpipes.
Once I got into full swing, you could hear the music roll and flow, it echoing off the mountain, and everyone came out to see what was happening.
I showed no emotion, one because I would break character, two because it wasn't really possible! They all stood in front of me while I played, some smiling, others looking annoyed.
Once I had finished the song, I went into my speech.
"Lads and Lassies! Today, you will fight for your clan in honorable battle! You fight for the person next to ya, and never turn your back, for they are ye brothers and sisters!" I yelled, and I saw Star look away. Bridgett stared at me furiously, but I ignored them both.
"Now, would the clan leaders step forward?" I asked, and Danny, April, and finally Josh stepped forward.
"Good. Now, take a look at these brave souls! They will pick the teams, no if ands, or buts! Best of luck!" I said, and walked back over to the storage shed to put my bagpipes away.
Once I had gotten back, I saw that the first two picks had already been completed. Danny had picked Jonathan, and April had picked Nick. Josh was up.
"I want Justin." He said, and the rest of the voting went underway.
By the time the teams were finished, it was as followed:
Team 1: Danny, Jonathan, Alex, Lindsey, Brenden, Joey, and me.
Team 2: April, Nick, Sam, Belle, Bridgett, Sean, Garret, and Ryan.
Team 3: Josh, Justin, Austin, Star, Ahote, Drake, Aubrey, and Levi.
"Alright, now, everyone shake hands. And best of luck!" I said, and everyone shook hands with each other. I even shook hands with both Austin and Star. Neither looked up to my face, and both seemed to be surprised. However, when I attempted to shake Bridgett's hand, she ignored me, brushing past me. I chuckled, because if she wanted to play this game, I would show her how it is done.
We got out to the playing field, and I showed everyone the boundaries, and I gave the team captains a radio for emergency uses only.
Danny's team, with me on it, went out toward my oak tree, which would be our base. I had Jaeger with me, as well as Rolf, who wouldn't go anywhere without me. I could always find him within eyesight, and he curled up with me every night.
He was getting bigger and bigger, and he must have weighed close to 130lb, of just muscle. Okay, maybe a little fat, because I spoil him. But if you could have seen his puppy dog face, you would have too.
"What is the plan?" Alex asked, while he whittled on a stick he had found close by. He was using a crude farmers scythe, but it was highly affective for disarming people.
"We fan out, and play the defensive. Chris, if I could have you ride out, and bring a few of them at a time, we will be able to knock out the other teams. But no going for the flag." He said, and I nodded.
"Everyone else, watch each others backs, and keep on alert." He said.
I heard an air horn, and then watched as a red flare arced through the sky, and I nodded. It was game time!
I quickly rode out, searching for anyone to draw in to follow the plan that Danny had set. I quickly saw Nick and April, running from someone. Justin and Josh were after them in quick pursuit. I looked around, to see if there was anyone following me, but I did not see any. I took after the four, hoping to get a few kills today.
"Ha! Jaeger, faster!" I shouted, as I spurred him on. He snorted, and followed the four on his own. Rolf ran beside us, and then took off and took down Justin from behind. He pinned Justin, and then licked his neck, signifying a kill. Justin groaned, and put his head on the ground. Rolf licked his face one more time, and then took off again after the others.
Jaeger and I had meanwhile caught up to Nick and April. While riding, I quickly scooped up April, and rode away from Nick. He yelled something at me, but I didn't hear it.
"April, I need you to do me a big favor." I said, as I talked into her ear.
She looked back at me, as if waiting for an answer.
"First off, give me that." I said, as I took the knife she tried to hide. I threw it into one of the saddlebags, and continued. "Please do not jump. In all honesty, you will hurt yourself badly. Don't worry; I am not going to treat you badly. But, having the leader of another team helps a lot!" I said, and laughed. She smiled, and we rode the rest of the way in silence.
"First prisoner of the day?" Joey asked, and I nodded, continuing to ride to where we had set up a small prison cell. I dismounted, and helped her off. I told her to stay seated at the base of the tree, handcuffing her to one of the roots. It was loose enough not to hurt her, but it also wouldn't let her slip out easily.
"Be happy April," Alex said, as he walked over to guard her, "He usually doesn't take prisoners."
She grimaced, before asking for a parley. Both Alex and me looked at each other, trying to figure out of we should.
"I will go get Danny. Keep an eye on her, she is a crafty one." I said to Alex as I started to run off to find Danny.
"Well, well. I look to find my leader, and I find him checking out his privates." I said, and smiled at the pun. He and Jonathan were making out, laying on one of the branches high above the ground.
Danny looked down in surprise, almost loosing balance.
"This had better be important!" Jonathan said, and I nodded.
"Yes masters," I said, while humbly bowing, "we seem to have come in possession of a team captain. She awaits your judgment if she is to be kept or executed." I said, and walked away. I heard them jump down, and follow me.
"So you have decided to allow me a parley. I thank you for that." April said, once we had come back. She smiled at me, and I winked before mounting up again.
"While I would love to stay and chat, I must be off to slay others. I have even heard there be a mighty dragon!" I said, and rode off, leaving the others laughing.
Once I had gotten a minute or two out, I reached over and unhooked the backpack, which I had clipped to it earlier, and put it on. It contained a parachute, incase Drake decided to attack me from the air.
I continued to ride, and searching for anyone. I didn't have to wait long.
"Shit, its Chris!" I heard, and saw Sean and Austin running from me. They had been attacking each other, and decided to run once they saw me. A very foolish thing to do. I spurred Jaeger on, after Austin. My eyes filled with rage, and I intended to seek revenge.
I could hear him breathing heavily, and when he turned around to see where I was, he tripped, landing heavily and dropping his pike. It was a short, 5-foot pike that was mostly wood with a metal tip, which was curved downward.
I reigned in Jaeger, and quickly dismounted. I saw Sean nearby, but he stayed back, waiting for an opportunity to strike.
Austin readied himself, planting the butt of the pike into the ground, and waited for me.
He didn't have to wait long.
As I ran toward him, I yelled at the top of my lungs, a saber in either hand. And then Austin did one of the biggest mistakes. He removed the pike from the ground, and ran.
He ran as fast as he could, but I was faster. And I would have gotten him if it weren't for Sean. I saw him leap toward me, to allow Austin to escape while taking me down. I quickly turned and blocked his claw with my saber, not thinking. I saw metal sparks, and saw that he had slipped on metal claws of some sort. I quickly pulled his foot forward, and he fell to the ground.
"I shall let you go this time. Do not make me regret it." I said, my breath ragged. I whistled quickly, and Jaeger ran over. I quickly mounted, and took after Austin.
It didn't take long to run him down since Austin was already tired. I didn't bother dismounting this time, and as I rode by him, I reached across Jaeger and quickly swiped his back with the saber, as not to actually kill him. He fell, and let out a wail. I heard a howl, and looked up to see Star at the top of the hill, looking down at me, sadness in her eyes.
I dismounted, and walked over to the still crawling Austin. I sheathed both of my sabers, and drew out my tomahawk. I swung it around in my left hand, and I saw fear in his eyes. But, it did exactly what I wanted; it made Star run down the hill to fight me.
"Chris, please..." Austin said, as his back was pressed against the tree, his arms in front of him.
"Relax. If I wanted you dead or gone, you would be long gone. Or six feet under, if I decided to bury your corpse." I said. He gulped, but didn't move. Star was within 20 feet, and closing fast. I turned to face her, putting my tomahawk back, and redrawing my sabers.
"Touch him and die." She growled.
"It is much to late for that." I said, and she looked over at him confused, and he nodded.
"Well then, you can join him!" She snarled, and leaped at my neck. I saw the move coming, and quickly sidestepped. She flew through the air where I just was letting out a yelp when she realized she had missed me.
"You know, I cannot fathom why you are angry at me." I said, as she turned to look at me again. "I did nothing."
She growled, and started to circle me on all fours. She was looking for a weak point, so I decided to fake one, not sure if she would take the bait.
She did.
As she again tore through the place where I just was.
"Enough of this game! Fight me like a man!" She screamed.
"If you so choose." I said, and went on the offensive.
I quickly slashed down at her, which she ducked from. Quickly moving my body weight, I knocked her off balance, throwing her onto the ground. I pointed the saber at her neck, the blade resting mere centimeters from her jugular.
"Dead." I said, and walked away. I remounted Jaeger, and looked down at them. Both looked at me, sadness filling their eyes.
"Chris, forgive me. Please." Star pleaded.
"I wish I could." I said, and rode off.
Once again on patrol in the forest, I forgot one very key thing I had told myself to remember.
Always keep an eye on the sky.
I was quickly snatched from my saddle, and Jaeger whinnied in fright, sidestepping to the left. I flailed helplessly, before giving up.
"Easy prey." I heard Drake say, and he grinned wickedly down at me.
"That's what you think!" I said, as I tried to squirm out. I kept trying, as he circled around.
Finally, after 2 minutes of continuously trying and failing, I gave up.
"That felt wonderful. It was like a forced massage." He teased.
"Funny. Now, why haven't you killed me yet?" I asked. I looked down to see if I could get my sabers, but they were being constricted by his grip on me.
"Because Josh wanted you alive. So he sent me." He stated simply.
"Oh really? And nothing I can do will get me out of it?" I asked.
"And what are you offering?" He mused back. "Because we are right above the base."
I looked up at him, and he bent down and looked me in the face. I smiled, and kissed him passionately on the muzzle. His eyes growing huge, his grip loosening, breaking the kiss I giggled before kicking free of his grasp.
I quickly fell away from him, and ripped on the Para chord, my parachute erupted behind me, and rapidly slowed my decent. I grabbed the handles, and aimed for the open field, as to not hit any trees and break my arm.
I looked up, and I saw Drake, free-falling to catch up to me. I quickly tightened in the chute, and I descended faster. At about 20 feet off the ground, I quickly flared the chute, and as the ground came rushing up at me, I relaxed and rolled, to prevent a sprained ankle.
Once I had come to a complete stop, I un-strapped quickly, and tethered it down, so that I could pack it up later.
Drake landed about fifty feet to my left, and I drew my sabers.
He did not show any signs of hostility, and I looked warily over at him.
"Drake, are you okay? " I asked.
He stayed silent, and I walked over apprehensively, sabers still out, just incase this was a ruse.
Once I was finally next to him, he spoke quietly, saying, "You kissed me."
"Yes I did. And by the look on your face, you enjoyed it. As did I." I said, and he looked up at me, a happy glint in his eye. But it grew slightly confused.
"But, what about all of that time with Star?" He asked.
"I was lying to myself. You remember how you said how much it hurt, knowing the others didn't know? Well, trust me when I say I feel you. I hid it, for a multitude of reasons. And one of these days, you may even find them out. But for now, we have each other, if you so wish." I said.
He looked at me, the happiness returning to his eyes, and he quickly grabbed me, and bounded into the air, twirling around with delight, soaring as high as the sun.
Once we finally even out, I looked at him in the eyes.
"I will take that as a yes?" I asked. He grinned, and leaned down to kiss me again. My heart fluttered, and I smiled. I was truly happy.
We landed, gently, neither one of us with weapons drawn.
"Are you going to tell the others, or do you want it to stay a secret?" He asked.
"Of course I want the others to know!" I said.
"Are you sure you aren't rushing this? I mean, you just broke off from Star." He said.
I looked at him in the eye, and just smiled. "I know what I want. Trust me, I was ready to break off for a good while. The reason I am mad is not that she broke off, but HOW she did it." I said, and he nodded.
"Well then, I guess there is just one more thing I should mention." He said, and slowly backed away.
"And that is? " I asked.
"Ah Chris, I was wondering when Drake would bring you back." I heard a voice say from behind me. I whirled around, and drew my sabers.
Josh stepped out of the shadows, with Ahote close behind. Josh had his brass knuckles, and Ahote had a tomahawk similar to mine.
I looked over at Drake, who smiled and said, "Sorry love, but an order is an order. Besides, we aren't going to kill you. Just keep you hostage. You have something we want."
"And that would be?" I asked, warily trying to keep an eye on all of them.
"April." Nick said, as he stepped out of the shadows.
I took a step back, shocked. "You teamed up? But why? Josh has nothing to gain out of this!"
"Oh yes I do. If I get her back, he is giving himself up in your place." Josh said. I looked over to Nick, who looked defeated.
"NO! Nick, fight them! Resist! If we can get out of here, we can work out April!" I yelled.
"You don't mean that." He said, looking up at me.
"Look into my eyes. Do I look like I am lying?" I asked. He looked at me, and then quickly attacked Ahote, who blocked. I quickly went after Josh, who blocked a light blow with his brass knuckles.
I heard Nick whistle, and Sam and Belle came rushing out of the forest, ready to fight the others. Sam had a large whip, and he looked more than ready to use it. Belle had two small sticks, which looked very sturdy. They went after Drake, who stood there in disbelief.
I quickly knocked Josh to the ground, and had him at sabers tip. He looked up at me, with a calm look in his eye.
"Dead." I said, and he nodded knowingly. I quickly ran over to help Nick, who was holding his own. I glanced over at Sam and Belle, and saw that they were slowly wearing down Drake.
Nick, with my help, quickly finished off Ahote. He shook his head, and walked over with Josh. Now, we all focused on Drake.
We quickly took him down, but before they could deal the killing blow, I told them to stop.
"I want him as a prisoner." I said. They looked at me funny, but nodded. I quickly ran some rope to bind his hands, loose enough not to hurt, but tight enough for him not to escape. We all walked off to my base, where April waited as my part of the deal.
"So what did you want as your part of the deal?" Nick asked.
"I want Bridgett." I said. I heard Sam snicker, and Belle just shook her head.
"Deal." Nick said, and we shook on it. He took Belle and Sam with him to go get Bridgett, and I took Drake back with me to our base.
"Another prisoner?" I heard, and saw Lindsey come bounding over. I nodded, and I warned her to stay back.
"Oh yea? What is he going to do?" She teased.
Shit.
He quickly broke the bonds I had set behind his back, and unfurled his wings, one of them knocking me to the ground. It doubled his size, and I saw Lindsey fumble and try to draw her small knife, which had been clasped by a button in her sheathe, meaning it was going nowhere without unbuttoning it.
"Well, well," Drake growled, fiercely, "What are we going to do to you?"
She just stood there, in fear. I got up, and drew my saber.
"Drake, I ask you to step down. You are scaring her." I said, and he chuckled, but folded his wings against his back, and started walking to the base.
I turned to Lindsey, and asked, "Have you learned your lesson? If that were real, you probably would have been killed." She nodded, and then unbuttoned her knife. She grinned weakly at me, and apologized. I just smiled, and shook my head. I told her to keep watch, and I asked about the others. She told me that both Joey and Alex had been taken out by Garret. I shook my head, and kept walking with Drake.
Once we were out of Lindsey's line of sight, I turned to Drake and broke out in a grin.
He smiled back, and I thanked him for not hurting her.
"Trust me, the look on her face was worth enough. Besides, now I get to be with you, alone. " He growled, as he grabbed me into a hug, and planted a kiss on my forehead. I smiled up to him, and kissed him again. He was mine and it felt so right. I didn't want to leave his embrace, and I hoped that he felt the same.
We stayed there, in that tight embrace for about five minutes, and he finally put me down. He then sat down, and beckoned me to do the same. I could care less about the game now, as I lay against his chest, his gentle breathing soothing me.
"And you yelled at me for being with Danny," I heard, and turned to look up at Jonathan, who was standing, watching us. He still had his staff with him, and I smiled. That kid had got more and more witty as he grew accustomed to all of us.
"What? It was business related when I got you two!" I said, still not getting up. Drake made no move to get up either.
"Yea, well I didn't sleep with the enemy. Also, we lost." Jonathan said, as he started to walk away.
"What?!" I yelled after him.
"Yea, April escaped with our flag. Danny got Bridgett though." He added.
I nodded, and he headed off. I looked up to Drake, and smiled.
"We probably should head back to camp." He rumbled, and I could feel his voice from deep within his chest.
"Do we have to?" I asked, pleadingly looking into his eyes.
"Come on, I will even carry you there, so you don't have to walk, your highness." He said, and I chuckled. I rolled off his chest, but I decided to walk back to camp on my own two feet.
That evening, I helped cook the biggest camp meal we had ever had; 2 full sized deer, a few chickens, multiple vegetables, pasta, brownies, vanilla cake, and a few other things. By the time we had finished, we had nearly the whole camp tearing down the doors to try to steal food. I carried my pistol on my, as well as my sabers, just in case. I didn't need a full-blown riot!
Once everyone was served, I walked over and started to grab some food myself. I found Drake, and then leaned so that I could lie in his lap. I saw Nick and Josh look over at me with looks of confusion, and I just smiled sheepishly and began to eat. Both nodded, and kept on with the conversation. I guess everyone else was either extremely clueless, which trust me, they weren't, or they accepted it. I even saw Star look over, shock on her face. I nodded to her. I put on a small smile, and mouthed, "I forgive you."
She smiled back, and then leaned in close with Austin. We both had understood what had happened, and were of mutual agreement.
After dinner, I took Drake, and we pulled one of the humvees out of the garage, and laid on top of it to check out the stars. I had no need of blankets, because I was almost sweating from the heat that was radiating off Drake.
"Did you have fun today?" I asked, turning to face him.
He nuzzled me gently, and said, "Of course! I had a great game, and even if I didn't win, I still got a prize."
I smiled up at him, and gave him a quick peck on the muzzle. "Just remember that this is not an edible prize!"
He busted out laughing, his entire body racked with laughter. The whole humvee was rolling, and somehow I fell of the side.
I landed on the ground, and glared up at the golden eyes, which still were filled with laughter ad joy. He reached down with one of his massive arms, and helped me back onto the top of the humvee. Once I was lying next to him, he pulled me closer, murring gently. I chuckled because I had never heard him utter such a sound.
He looked down at me, and just smiled.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing." He said.
"Lies, and you know that."
"I am still trying to figure out how I was able to get you. I had always heard in romance stories about how they had to go through hell and back just to find their true soul mate. But I found mine by being at the right place, at the right time."
I started to tear up, and I kissed him on the muzzle again. "You aren't the only one wondering."
He smiled, and curled up with me even closer on the humvee, his tail wrapping around my leg tightly. And that was how I fell asleep.
Alright the next one is out and ready to go! Wanted to thank a certain marine whom helped me out greatly and is an awesome friend and kick in the ass to get writing! Any comments are always loved!
