What makes you think this galaxy is any better than the ones we've already been in?" Seeing the other three in the room turn to him, one of them spoke. "It was his choice to come here. After all, he said he felt something similar to his power. We may be lucky." "We don't need luck. We'll rip apart these planets if we must." "I'll be happy just to get a good meal." "Always thinking with your stomach aren't you?" The voice came from the one who spoke first. "Why don't you stop thinking with your gay little dick then?" "Enough!" The four who were talking grew silent and looked at the robed man walking towards them. Each of them was wearing a dark blue robe with a hood that concealed their faces. "We have a job to do. There are many planets in this system, so we shouldn't be distracted." "Where do we start then?" "This one." The man waved his hand, instantly a small replica of a planet appeared in mid-air. The one who conjured the replica planet moved closer, examining every detail of it. "It's the home of that Star Fox team. They've overcame a few challenges over the years." "You really think he'll be there?" "He might be. Besides, a while ago I felt some kind of energy. Then it wasn't long before he appeared." "But how? He's only a mortal. They should not possess power like that." "That is what interests me. When we arrive, don't draw attention to yourself." The four behind the man vanished instantly leaving the one who made the little planet alone in the room. His eyes looked intently on the small replica. * * * Sleep was always a time of peace and quiet. One could feel himself drift away into dreams and just relax. He felt this way too. In all his life, he had never felt at peace like this at all. His chest slowly rising and falling with his breathing. Warmth surrounded him, keeping him in that comforting embrace. But even then, the most peaceful slumber can be shattered. Waking to the sound of his alarm clock, the fox moved his arm and slammed his hand on the button to shut the annoying sound off muttering a silent curse. Yawning, he rolled back over and wanted to sleep for a little bit longer, but he had to get up. Forcing himself out of bed, the fox walked into the bathroom and looked into his mirror. "Why cant I sleep for longer?" Yawning again, he turned to the shower and switched it on. The fox's name was Kayrin Kamisama Squall. As to why he had such a name, he had no clue. His fur was slightly more red than the usual orange fur, but he still had the white tipped tail and black fur over his feet and hands. His eyes were a soft blue colour and he had a gentle nature, but he was a bit shy around other people. "I wonder if anyone else will be around today?" Washing his fur, he could only wonder if anything would happen or if it would just be like any other day. During the time it took finish his shower, the fox switched it off and finally got out of the shower after nearly spending thirty minutes in there. He liked to be clean though and did his best to make himself look good in front of others. Grabbing the towel near him, Kayrin started drying his fur and then walked back into the main room. Checking the clock, it read 8:13am and he thought hard on what to do. His laptop was what caught his eye and he decided to turn it on and check if he had any e-mails. Nothing. He browsed on the internet for a while but not a single thing peaked his interests. Shutting the machine down, Kayrin moved towards his dresser and pulled out some clothes. Fully dressed, the fox grabbed what he needed and headed out. The first thing he saw was the academy. With a smile, he locked his door thinking back on his graduation. He originally pictured it as a day to day job when he graduated, but Ryan had appeared making things more. . .interesting, even if, at times, they were becoming a bit more dangerous. He shook his head and cleared all thoughts, but he couldn't help thinking about it. He wasn't really going anywhere but he liked having a small walk in the morning. Getting further into the city, Kayrin decided to have a look around some of the shops and entered one of the newsagents. A few random furs were already inside but he wasn't paying much attention. Instead he just grabbed a paper and paid for it. Walking out, he looked at the headline on the front page, there wasn't much, something about a guy doing damage or along those lines, he wasn't really paying attention. "Even this hasn't go anything to say. -sigh-." Folding the paper, Kayrin found a bench and sat down. Opening the paper, he read through it. Many articles covering many things, but he always just skimmed read them. Putting it away, he looked around the area he was sitting in. The park was right in front of him, people walking their pets, jogging and some couples were going about. Getting back on his feet, Kayrin walked off back to his room near the Academy. It didn't take too long to get back, but for some reason. He wondered if he should have done something else. He felt. . .restless, but an hour ago he was still asleep. It was odd, all this energy came from no where and deep down, part of him felt excited. The wind started blowing into his face, nearly sending the pages of his paper flying everywhere. The fox kept it together but as soon as his hand touched the wood of the bench, he felt like someone had just drained him of all his energy. Trying to ignore it, he walked back along the footpath to his dorm. Around him, he saw the younger recruits heading off for their classes at nine am. Smiling at the fact he didn't have to bother with the classes anymore, Kayrin wished them luck. Time passed and he was sitting down having his breakfast. . .which he had finished five minutes ago. Boredom was beginning to settle in but there wasn't anything to do. "I'm so freaking bored!" Looking at the ceiling above him, his mind focused on the others. Ryan, Tri, DJ, Adair and the others. What where they doing? Would they want to do anything with him? Getting back onto his feet, Kayrin sighed. Why would they want to do anything with him? [Maybe I could. . . .maybe I could go and practice my shooting or combat skills, I haven't been in a little while.] Grabbing his I.D and everything else he needed, Kayrin walked down to the shooting range. The inside was empty except for a large dragon standing behind a counter, trying his best to repair a gun. He showed his I.D to the dragon and merely received a simple nod. Taking his gun out, he walked to the platform and waited for the practice to start. "You ready boy?" The dragon shouted from behind him. Giving him the thumbs up, the dragon started the computer. Targets started appearing and Kayrin was trying to keep his focus on what he was doing. The time limit was set for three minutes and wanted to see if he could as many targets as some of the others. There were times when he got to preoccupied with one target and forgot about the others, causing him to miss or screw up a few times. When the set time was up, he walked back towards the dragon who looked up the fox on the computer. "Not bad Mr. . . . .Squall, not bad. You could use some more practice, but I'm afraid you might not beat Vincent's high score." "Yeah." Kayrin checked the screen for himself. Looking at the computer, he noticed that Vincent had the highest number of hit targets in the shooting range. In three minutes, he hit more than a hundred and fifty targets while Kayrin only got ninety-seven. He felt useless with a gun sometimes, but he knew that hardly anyone came to Vincent's standards. "He's really good with these." "That he is." Kayrin simply smiled and said he was leaving. The dragon seemed a little confused and spoke. "Not staying for more practice while your mind's on it?" "I was going to practice my fighting skills, but maybe I can try again." Asking for the dragon to start the targets again, Kayrin focused on the targets. "Ready. . .begin." It took another three minutes, and Kayrin performed slightly better, but he was still disappointed with his score. "Aw man, I only got a hundred and two." "That's still a high mark. Want to know you're rank on the practice?" "Uh. . .nah. I'll find out later." "Suit yourself." Turning for the door, Kayrin walked out of the shooting range just as a few were coming in. They were definitely students and they were boasting about how good they were with a gun. The fox chuckled, wondering who would have to teach them and predicting they'd have a headache by the end of the day. Heading down the hallway, Kayrin looked back on when he joined the academy. He was a quiet fox and usually kept to himself, only talking to the others when he had to. But over time he learned to open up to others. Something he had only done rarely when he was younger. Everything seemed to go okay, and then Ryan appeared. He found it a little strange, but also at the same time, comforting. Shaking his head a little, Kayrin almost didn't hear a voice calling to him. "Kayrin." Turning, the fox smiled when he saw him. "Hi Ryan." "Hey." Ryan began to speak, but Kayrin didn't really take in any word of it. There was just something about this human that made him feel like he had people who cared about him. "Kayrin!" "Huh?" "You weren't listening, were you?" "Uhh. . .sorry, my mind's been elsewhere today." "Well I was saying if you want to go into the city with me today. You're the only guy I can find, I've no idea where anyone else is. Fox and the others are busy so I‘m kinda on my own." "If you like, there something you want to do?" "Just relax and hang out. After everything that's happened, it's nice just to relax. . .you get the idea." "Yeah. So, you want to head to the park? Or wherever?" "The park sounds nice." For the next ten minutes the two were walking towards the park, talking about random things. Kayrin was telling the human that the new game ‘Soul Swords IV' for his console was released. He started explaining on how it worked and a bit of the storyline, the human grew interest but wasn't sure if he'd give it a shot. "Hey, you remember at the beach? I played that guitar game?" "Yeah. You were really good, plus I loved the sunflowers." Ryan grinned and mentally thanked Fox for that. However, he wanted to keep the conversation away from the piece of clothing he was wearing that day. "How come you never played it?" "Well, I suck at it. Simple as that. I cant even play easy mode without screwing up and music isn't really me." "You don't like music?" "I'll listen to a few things, but chances are it'll be one time thing, maybe a few times." "To each his own, I guess. What about chess?" "What? I've seen you play. You'd wipe the floor with me in one turn." "Not in one turn." "I'd still lose to you." "You don't know that." Continuing their conversation, they entered the park and walked further in. All the flowers, the trees, Kayrin breathed in the air around him and sighed happily. "Man, I remember there was a park like this back home. I always loved going there." Ryan looked at the fox. Kayrin had never mentioned anything about his past before. "Back home? I thought you might have lived here all your life." Kayrin flinched and flattened his ears before looking at Ryan. "W-Well. . .I've only been here little more than a few years." "You've never said anything before." "That's because. . ." "Well, with your time off you can always go home and see your family, maybe even show us around. Kayrin?" The human grew confused, the fox had turned his attention toward the ground but the canid spoke, keeping his eyes away from the human's. "Sorry, but can we change the subject Ryan?" "Kayrin?" Ryan agreed and the two walked off and sat down on a bench. The silence that ensued was beginning to annoy Ryan and after looking at the fox next to him, he placed his hand on the fox's shoulder. "Listen Kayrin, I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything." "It's alright Ryan. That's just a. . .sore spot. Before I came here, I had an argument with my family, can we leave it at that?" "Yeah, I didn't mean to hurt you." "Its fine." The fox's mood seemed to have gotten a lot better and he turned his head, looking at some of the flowers that were planted. Ryan thought, but he decided it would be best to leave it be rather than to upset him. Feeling Kayrin lean on his shoulder, Ryan thought he just wanted a cuddle but once he heard the giggling, he turned and saw a wide grin on his friends face. "Ryan's got admirer's." "What are you on about?" "Look over there." Directing with his eyes, Ryan noticed a group of girls smiling at him. Unsure what to do, the human closed his eyes and chuckled slightly. "Man, its tough being the only human." "Everyone wants a piece of you. Hey, maybe I should kiss you and they can get a shock." Opening his eyes, Ryan looked at the fox and shook his head. "Kayrin." "I'm joking, I wouldn't do anything like that to you. . .in public." "So, you want to head somewhere else then fox boy?" "Why not?" Getting up, the two of them made their way out from the park and headed towards their next destination. * * * Everything was dark. It suited him. It suited the area he was in. He was standing in a large circular room, the walls covered in ancient markings and pictures. Each wall had a different being painted on it, but they were all damaged, except for the one in front of him. The image looked as though it was perfectly new. But he also knew that staring at a painted wall was a waste of time. It was always the markings around the image that interested him. He‘d read it over and over, the excitement growing in him every time, making him much more determined. However, he sensed change in the room. "Well?" The robed man asked, not taking his eyes off the wall in front of him. In an instant, another four appeared behind him. One of them stepping forward, he spoke. "The human is on this planet. However, there are many souls here, it may take a while to search for him." "Did anyone cause problems?" The one on the far left moved even closer to the lone man in front. "These three did." "Hey!" He turned and snickered but his voice was filled with disgust. "You all found others attractive. Whether it was men, women or. .your stomach." That last comment, he directed to the middle of the hooded three. All he got in return was a glare, the eyes of that person full of rage. "Ugh." The one in front of the floor turned and looked at them. "You lot are wasting time, step forward Inura." Inura ignored the glare and turned. Leaving the three behind him, he moved closer to the man who now focused on him intently. "Yes?" "The human. He interests you, doesn't he?" "He does. How such a creature, a mortal, could end up here without any means of transport or vessel is beyond me. He cant have came here alone." "You believe he's the one we've been searching for?" "He may be." "Do as you please Inura." "Yes." With a evil smile across his face, Inura had only one thought. The three behind them vanished and Inura followed suit. Now alone, the man fixed his eyes back on the wall. In seconds, he couldn't help but laugh into the empty hall. It was only a matter of time. * * * Large lights flooded the room, banishing every bit of the darkness. The combat training area was well kept, and various weapons were in stands along the walls. While the fox and the human walked in, Kayrin turned his head. "So, weapons or not?" "You decide." "I've seen you with a blade, so, I guess our fists shall do." Ryan smirked. He had never battled the fox before. True, he watched the canid's graduation match against Fox McCloud, but the match hadn't lasted that long. He was sure Kayrin had improved since then. Still, this seemed like it would be a good fight. Taking respective places, the two stood opposite each other and staring in the opponents eyes. "Ready when you are." "Heh. . . .go." Kayrin smirked and sped forward towards the human, attempting to deliver a punch to the human's chest. Ryan did see it coming, but he only just dodged it. [Fuck. . .when was Kayrin this fast?!] Ryan avoided the next set of punches and kicks the fox threw at him before striking back, hitting the fox directly in the stomach making him stagger back as the wind rushed out of him. Taking his chance, Ryan delivered a powerful kick to the side of the fox's face making him fall hard to the floor. [Damnit. . .if he saw me right now, he'd be embarrassed] Kayrin took in a breath full of air and stood up. This time, he waited for the human to attack him. Ryan did notice that Kayrin wouldn't move closer to him. He smiled and decided to give the fox what he wanted. Running towards him, Ryan attempted to give a good solid punch to the fox, what he didn't expect was Karyin grabbing his hand, successfully stopping him in his tracks. "Have fun." Kayrin said. With as much strength as he could muster, Kayrin grabbed the human by his shirt and threw him over his shoulder. Although it caught him by surprise, Ryan easily landed on his feet, just as Kayrin kicked him hard in the face. [Dammit!] The kick felt strong, but it wasn't exactly powerful. Ryan quickly recovered and stared at his opponent. Thinking, Ryan thought of ways to outmanoeuvre the fox. Kayrin on the other hand simply watched. His breathing was already growing heavier, but he wasn't about to give up. [This has gone on long enough, time to end it.] Kayrin saw his chance and went for it. He sprinted towards the human and quickly jumped over him. He landed on his feet and turned, preparing to strike. Instead, he felt a booted foot hit him hard at his ear, shattering any form of balance he had. The fox landed on the floor with a muffled yelp and struggled to push himself back up. "Are you okay?" Ryan asked without dropping his guard. "Y-Yeah. . .fuck, you hit hard when you want to." Ryan laughed a little and pulled the fox up on his feet. "Wasn't that the point?" "I thought it was just a friendly match?" "How about we stop here. Maybe we'll fight against each other again later." "Yeah. Wanna head for a shower?" Ryan agreed and the two walked out of the room and walked down the hallway. Smiling intently, Kayrin slapped the human's ass and ran. "Last one to the shower has to buy dinner!" "D-Dinner?! H-Hey!!" Ryan ran for it and caught up with the fox. Their eyes met but Ryan pulled out in front and burst through the door. Kayrin came in a second later, panting heavily. "Man. . ." "Well, I guess you're buying me dinner." "Yeah." Kayrin wrapped his arms around Ryan's chest and pulled him close. "But I never said when." The fox released him and started stripping off his clothes. Ryan quickly did the same and pulled Kayrin into him. "How about tomorrow? You promised." Kayrin giggled. "Sure." Grabbing a towel, the fox walked further into the large shower area. White and black coloured tiles covered the room, the heat was nice and relaxing to one's body. Silver showerheads were strewn everywhere, along with the faucets that controlled the hot and cold water. The two of them decided to take their showers at the back left corner of the room so they'd be less likely to be disturbed by anyone. Turning the faucet, the warm water quickly shot out and hit the fox's body, washing away the sweat from the practice battle that had just taken place. Kayrin looked at the human next to him. Ryan was showering, and it could only arouse the fox greatly. Ryan's body had improved greatly since he joined the Star Fox team, but it had come at a price. The fox could easily see the scars on his body, but in his mind, it only made the human look tougher. Seeing the human trying to get his back, the fox walked over and started washing him. "Oh, heh. Thanks." "No problem." Kayrin gently washed the human's back before moving his hands round to the front. He moved closer, pressing his thickening sheath against the human. With his right hand, he moved it further down towards Ryan's cock and started rubbing it. "Someone's a happy fox." Kayrin murred and slowly licked the side of Ryan's neck. He repeated it several times but stopped and turned the human around. Before a sound was even made, Kayrin immediately kissed Ryan on the lips and pressed his body against his friend's. Both their cocks were starting to harden, rubbing softly against each other. As quickly as it began, the kiss broke and Kayrin kneeled on the floor before starting to lick the underside of Ryan's cock. He heard a slight gasp escape from Ryan and engulfed the entire length in his mouth. Feeling a hand on his head, Kayrin took that as a signal to start sucking. Slowly, he let it slip out of his mouth before taking it all back in. He licked softly at Ryan's cock with his canid tongue making the human shudder in delight. Ryan could only lose himself in the pleasure, it didn't matter to him if anyone came in or not, he just wanted to enjoy this and have a quiet evening without any worries. "Kayrin. . ." He pulled the fox in closer, forcing his cock deeper down into Kayrin's warm throat. He moved back a little, coming into contact with the cold wall tiles making gasp. But he didn't move. The shower kept the warm water flowing, hitting the front of his body and all over the kneeling fox. He giggled at the look for a moment before sighing. Kayrin had started twisting and bobbing his head, making sure his tongue got everywhere. Ryan couldn't even control himself, he began to buck his hips but the fox held him where he was. With every lick, Ryan felt his climax nearing. Pre was flowing constantly and Kayrin didn't hesitate to lap it up. He wanted to taste more as it filled his stomach and he sucked harder. ". . ugh. . .Kayrin. . .I'm. . .ahh. . ." A warm, wet hand squeezed his balls firmly, but Kayrin soon held them gently and rolled them in his hand. All of this was beginning to get to the human. "Kayrin. . .I'm really gonna. . ." He couldn't finish his sentence. He held back his moans as cum quickly filled Kayrin's mouth. The fox managed to follow most of it but he had to pull back. A few more spurts of cum landed on his face but the water began to wash it away. He looked up and saw Ryan breathing hard. Standing up, Kayrin smirked. "Heh, we should have made it. . .whoever lost the race, had to be the other's bitch." "Maybe tomorrow you will be." Kayrin raised an eye and giggled. His own cock was rock hard and his knot had already swollen to full size. He noticed the human was still hard and he made to do something about it, but Ryan quickly grabbed him and pressed the fox against the wall and lifted him off the floor. "But maybe you can be my bitch now?" "Horny much?" "Maybe." Without any indication, Ryan moved back a little, making the fox wrap his legs around him as well as his arms. His tail hung below, exposing his tail hole and it wasn't long until he felt something hard against it. "You know, I can just bend over." "This is more fun." Kayrin smirked and felt Ryan's cock push inside of him. He relaxed and allowed more of his friend inside him. The warm water continued to flow onto them and with Ryan starting to thrust, it only caused the fox to moan loudly, echoing inside the room. Using one of his hands, he released his hold on Ryan and began to paw himself as fast as he could. He gritted his teeth as he felt the human pound his ass hard, but he just wanted the human to cum inside him. Ryan had his eyes clenched shut. He pulled the fox ever closer to him, thrusting harder and harder into him, speeding up every time. Kayrin's moans filled his ears and it only made him go faster. While the warm water felt good, Ryan knew it was relaxing his muscles and he started to slow down. He couldn't help it, but he was far too caught up in the pleasure of sex to stop now. Keeping up a good pace was proving difficult, it was either slow or hard and fast. His breathing grew more harder and his arms were beginning to struggle holding up the fox. "C-Come on. . .Ryan. . .f-fuck me. . ." Ryan opened his eyes slightly and saw the fox in pure bliss. Trying to get a fast pace back up, Ryan gritted his teeth and slammed into the fox. Kayrin cried out every time he felt the human's cock go deep inside him. The tightened his legs around Ryan, wishing it wouldn't end. "Fuck!" Ryan cried out and Kayrin felt the scolding hot seed shoot deep inside him. The feeling alone was enough to make the fox climax hard onto their bodies, coating the chests in cum. Feeling Ryan leave him, cum rushed out of his tail hole and down his legs. Catching his breath, he felt the human place him back on his feet and cuddle him. "Okay. . .we really need to wash now." Kayrin said. The cleanup didn't take very long and the two had dried themselves and got dressed, heading back for the fox's dorm. The hallways of the building were quiet and the fox assumed that everyone was receiving lectures. Kayrin's dorm wasn't too far away from the academy building, less than five minutes walk. Reaching the fox‘s door, Kayrin unlocked it and walked inside with Ryan close behind him. As they entered the fox's room, Kayrin took his jacket off and hanged it inside his wardrobe. "Just make yourself comfortable Ryan, I'll get us a drink." "Thanks Kayrin." Sitting down on the chair, Ryan got comfortable and waited for the fox to appear. * * * Evening sky had set in. People were still wandering the streets or heading home. Inura watched them all from above on top of a skyscraper, scanning the crowds for any sign of the human. There were so many souls in such a small place, it was difficult to pinpoint one targets location. Being this high up, he let the wind blow over his face and as he looked at the horizon, he clenched his fist and felt his anger grow. This setting and the human he was hunting made him want to rip the whole city apart. Memories filled his head, paining him. He wanted to find his target and slaughter him. "Feeling angry?" Inura turned and saw another from his organization. The voice was easily recognised and right now he wasn't in any mood. It wasn't the one who let him hunt Ryan, but one of the people he scouted the city with. "Get lost. I have a target to find." "That's no reason to go off angry." "This world disgusts me. Everyone here deserves to die." "Oh you cant mean that." The robed walked towards the edge and looked at the crowd. "There are so many beautiful ones down there." "Did I ever tell you how much you annoy me?" "Ohhh, this planet is so much fun. I don't want to see it in ruins." "You forget we have a mission, and I've been hearing things about a different organi-" The robed man cut him off. "Beautiful! I'm definitely going after that, never know, might be the one." He warped away in a cloud of shadow instantly leaving Inura snarling. "Why the fuck do I work with him?!" Warping away himself, Inura decided to check a quieter part of the city and hunt his target. * * * Hours passed and the moon had risen. Ryan was now standing at the fox's door and they were saying goodbye to each other. For that past few hours, the two had just played games, watched a movie and had a good time hanging out with each other. "Thanks Kayrin, but I better get back now." "Okay. I'll see you another time then?" "Definitely." "Oh and-" Placing a kiss on Ryan's lips, Kayrin smiled. Turning away, he ran his tail across the human's chest. "-goodnight Ryan." "Night Kayrin." Ryan started to walk off, but stopped and turned. "Don't forget, you owe me dinner tomorrow!" He saw Kayrin laugh and then the door shut. Ryan was laughing, he did enjoy spending time with the fox, but he knew he wouldn't always be able to do stuff like this every day. He did have things to worry about. His magic, Cougar and the rest of the Claxan. Shaking it off, Ryan continued walking down the pathway in the darkness. Above him though, a pair of eyes were watching him intently. His dark blue robe shielded him effectively, and the hood kept his face concealed from others. The only part of his body that was visible was his hands and tail. They were covered in emerald green scales but that was all. Seeing the human walk out of his sight, the robed man stood up and followed Ryan. He was glad that he changed locations to hunt the human down, but also to get away from his associate. He knew exactly what he'd be doing. But now wasn't the time to think of such things. He had a target. "This had better not be a waste of my time." Snarling a little, he blended in amongst the shadows and started stalking his target. He waited to attack though, he wanted a prime location to catch his prey without any or little interference. However, he noticed something about Ryan. The human was slowing down. His eyes looking around, Ryan could almost feel something was following him. [Why do I feel like there's someone there. . .if its them, then I'm not taking any chances!] Keeping his hand ready, Ryan prepared for his stalker to make an error. [Pointless.] Hearing a snarl from behind, Ryan summoned his sword and readied a thunder attack in his left hand. All that did though was create laughter from the darkness. "You foolish, pathetic mortal. Do you think that your piece of scrap metal will harm me? You're more stupid than you look." "Who are you?!" "My, my. Where are your manners?" "If you're one of the Claxan-" "Claxan? Hahahahaha, those bunch of fools?" Only more laughter filled the empty hallway and Ryan was trying to find the source. "Well, if you're not one of them, why don't you come on out? Are you scared?" "Is that wise Ryan? Trying to insult an enemy you cannot see, but can see you. I could strike you down in a second if I wanted." "Heh. Yeah, sure. Believe what you want. If you were really as strong as you say, why don't you prove it you fucking coward!" Another snarl was heard, only more aggressive than before. "It seems your little victories over them has made you cocky, at least in my mind. Fine, you wish to see how strong I am, I'll show you." Darkness engulfed the robed man, leaving the hallway quiet, but the cloud of darkness appeared behind Ryan and the man spoke. "Behind you." Turning around, Ryan launched the thunder attack at the mysterious man, hitting him directly. "Tell me who you are first!" "My, what a nice little spark you have. But that's not good enough." The thunder attack vanished, leaving the man unscathed. [Is he resistant to magic?] "You know Ryan-" "How do you know my name?" "Who hasn't heard of you would be a better question. Now, this can go either of two ways Ryan. You cooperate or I force you into this. I don't mind hurting you." "In to what exactly? And who are you anyway. Just some big shot picking a fight?" Dismissing what Ryan said, the man looked straight at the human. "My name is Inura. One of the Dark Star Zealots and number five in the Inner Star Sector." "Who?" "I don't expect you to know us Ryan. Now, put your sword away and this will be over quickly and I can be on my way." "What do you want exactly?" "I just want to know if you are the one we seek. If not, I'll leave you alone." "How do I know that?" "I just said, if you're not the one, we'll leave you alone." Putting his sword away, Ryan looked at Inura. He couldn't see what kind of species he was. Only those red eyes were visible, the robe concealed pretty much everything of this person. "I'm listening." "Good boy. Now, Ryan, should I tell you?" "Tell me what exactly?" "Basically, I want to know-" "Get to the point already!" Ryan shouted. He was losing patience with this guy and just wanted it over and done with, not be bothered with words. Clenching his fist, Inura snarled loudly. "Clearly, you have no respect for me or my organization." "Going to cry?" "I was going to make this easy on you, but plans change." "Huh?" Before Ryan could summon his sword, he was already up against the wall. The force from the impact was enough to make him cry out in pain. It didn't stop there, Ryan felt a fist against his face and then another, and another. Each of them delivering a tremendous amount of pain, but he was thrown to the ground before his vision could focus again. As he tried to get up, he felt Inura grab him by the head and lift him up off the ground. "Hurts doesn't it? I can make it A LOT worse. Maybe next time you shouldn't anger me like that." Throwing Ryan to the ground again, Inura hoped it would teach the human a lesson, but Ryan had his own thoughts. [Well. . .someone definitely needs an anger management course.] Getting up on his feet, Ryan summoned his sword and prepared to attack. Inura however charged forward and got past Ryan's blade before he could make a single move. Feeling a hand around his neck, he felt wave after wave of pain entering his body. Keeping his eyes shut tightly, he didn't want to give Inura any satisfaction from hearing him scream. "This was all I wanted to do. Don't be afraid to scream if it hurts Ryan." [S-Shit. . .I. . . .] Inura increased the amount of pain he was sending into Ryan's body, he was enjoying this. Opening his eyes a little, he focused his attention on his communicator. If he could just get help from Fox, Krystal or Falco, he could defeat this guy. But for now, he was alone and losing the battle fast. * * * "I guess Inura got tired of using the nice guy routine." "Even so, it just shows how weak mortals are, even with magic." "You're right, seeing them suffer before they die is fun." All four heads in the room turned towards a figure walking towards them. "Ooh, Ryan's in pain. This will be fun to watch." The voice was female and a bit child like. But the four were looking at her. "What are you doing here? Did he tell you come here?" She looked up, directly at the organizations leader. The other two were quiet. "No, but why cant I enjoy seeing the famous Ryan Lewis die?" "You know your job! You are part of the outer star sector, you cant keep coming and going as you please, Miyuken." Miyuken smiled. Like all the others, she had a hood that shielded her face. What he just said didn't bother her. Instead she focused on the battle. "Interesting." "What?" "Looks like Inura's going to get some company." She pointed at a few people walking down a pathway not far from Ryan. "Fine Miyuken, make yourself useful and stop them from intruding." "At last. Some action. How many should I kill?" * * * After minutes of enduring pain, Ryan only let out small yips in pain. Inura wasn't quite finished with him yet. Tightening his grip, he pressed his fingers hard into the human's neck. Ryan immediately felt something burn against his skin but he could barely scream. Growing tired, Inura thought of just snapping Ryan's neck here and now but he knew the consequences of such actions. Instead, he tossed him onto the ground, leaving the human to gasp for air. Ryan gingerly rubbed his neck. Despite that he couldn't see the injuries, his neck was now red and even black in some area's from where Inura had burned him with something. Looking back at the robed man, Ryan looked at him. "What. . .did you do?" "I looked into your soul. I sent dark energy through my hand and into your body. Painful, wasn't it?" "You enjoyed that." "Indeed. I did. Unfortunately, you aren't the one we seek. I have no other reason to be here." Seeing the man walk off, Ryan stood up and grabbed his sword. He wasn't going let this guy just get away with something like this. Running after him, he prepared to land a blow on the zealot. Inura heard him coming. Quickly turning, he easily evaded the sword and slammed his fist into Ryan's chest. Feeling all the air rush out of him, the human collapsed onto the ground. "B-Bastard." "You really annoy me human. We just meet, and already I'd rather see you dead. But, you could be useful." Leaning down, Inura was about to grab him but he stopped when he felt a cold wind blow around him. Standing upright, Inura found out who it was. "So you came as well? Miyuken." "Nice to see you too Inura." Looking up, Ryan saw another robed figure. [A-Another one?] "What is it that you want?" "Oh nothing really. I met some of Ryan's friends, to bad I wasn't allowed to kill them. I did let one through though." Giggling, she moved forward and looked down on Ryan. "Don't you look so weak. How could he be useful to anyone?" After hearing her sadistic, child like laughter, all Ryan wanted to do was silence her. "He's my target. I don't need your help." "Well, he does want the job done. No mess. Well then, I can see I'm not needed here." Picking up Ryan, she placed one of her hands on his cheek. It made Ryan shudder violently, there was no warmth in her, she was cold. . .like ice. "FREEZE!" The two zealots turned to the sound of the voice. "Oh, you arrived already." Miyuken said. Letting Ryan go, she turned and walked away. "I'll leave you boys alone. Bye Ryan, I hope I get you to myself someday." In a cloud of shadow, Miyuken vanished, leaving Inura alone to deal with Ryan and the other male. "Well, if it isn't-" He grabbed Ryan and held him above the ground. "-the great Fox McCloud." "Let Ryan go now!" Growling, Fox had his blaster aimed directly at the zealot. When Miyuken first appeared, he assumed it was the Claxan, but these were different people all together. "Maybe I will, maybe I wont." Fox was prepared to fire, but Inura stopped him. "Is that wise? You wouldn't want to hurt Ryan." "Coward. Let him go!" "Fine." Throwing Ryan into the wall, Fox ran up to the human and examined his injuries. "Maybe now I'll check your soul, after all the one who defeated Andross should be a challenge. Don't disappoint me Fox, if Miyuken let you past, you must be a good fighter." He still had his weapon aimed, but even he knew that this wasn't going to be your every day average opponent. " Your first mistake was attacking Ryan, I'll make you pay for that!" "Attack? No, just merely inspected. Maybe I did step over the line a bit. Now will you let me check your soul?" Shadow covered the zealots hand and he just laughed at the two. Fox just growled at him, but he heard Ryan speak to him. "Fox. . .don't. . ." "Ryan." "Just get out of here. . ." Standing up, Ryan gripped his sword and focused on the zealot. ". . .I can handle him." "I don't care whether you stay or not mortal. We zealots far surpass any enemy you've encountered. But then again, neither of you two have served a god, have you?" "God? What do you mean?" Both Ryan and Fox grew confused. Just what kind of god was he talking about? "Our ruler. Once we find him, everything shall the go the way it was supposed to, so many years ago. So, Fox, will you step up?" Fox took one look at Ryan and spoke. "I will. On one condition." "What's that?" "You don't come near Ryan or any of us again!" "I cant guarantee that." "Then I'll just have to stop you." "Try it then." Charging, Fox jumped and prepared to pull the trigger of his gun, aiming directly for the enemy‘s face. "Fox wait!" [Fool.] * * * Unbeknownst to the three, Kayrin was walking along one of the hallways opposite. Something had woken him from his sleep and he felt like his chest was on fire. He felt a desire. . .no, a need to get somewhere. He wasn't sure exactly why, but something was driving him towards the place he was walking to. His eyes widened and in a second, he was on the floor, trying to deal with the pain. He felt as though someone was ripping him apart from the inside, tearing their way out of him. Getting up on his feet, he gasped in pain. "It. . .hurts. . .anyone!" No one answered. It had been years since he felt any pain like this and he dug his hands into the floor and managed to push himself back on to his feet. Just then, he heard voices not far away. He couldn't really tell what was going on, except that someone was screaming. Before he could even shout out anything, waves of darkness came over him. Taking a step forward, he felt something on his chest. The scent of blood filled his nostrils. It happened far too quick for him to even react to what his body was starting to feel. Collapsing to ground, Kayrin could feel blood flowing out onto the floor at an alarming rate. From what he could tell, his flesh had been torn open and he attempted to look at the damage. The pain then took him away into the darkness.
- * * In a flash, all that could be heard was Fox screaming in pain. Ryan couldn't really see what was going on, but Fox was soon on the ground next to him. "Fox!" "Oops, I broke your little toy Fox." Holding up the remains of Fox's damaged weapon, Inura threw it aside and walked towards the two. "I guess neither of you two are the ones we seek. A waste of my time. I actually thought that the famous Ryan Lewis would have been more. . .worthwhile. Perhaps one of my associates should have came and met you. After all, he has longed for a decent meal." Helping Fox up, Ryan looked at Inura. "What's that supposed to mean?" "Ruken. That's pronounced Ryu, then Ken. Did you get that?" Ryan threw him an evil look. He didn't take kindly to being talked to like he was five. "He's third in the Inner Star Sector. You could say he likes his meals. . .fresh. Of course with a soul like yours Ryan. You should be careful, unless you want to be in his stomach." Laughing at the thought, he didn't see Ryan's expression. "A soul like mine, gee. . .I feel honoured." "You should be, not many are blessed with a powerful soul. You know Ryan, we could use more members in our organization. Why not join us? Our leader may accept you, you'd nothing to fear from anyone and all the power and anything you desire. Even the fox next to you, control him, make him yours." "You must be fucking joking! There's no way I'd do that to anyone! And your power. . .its evil, I can feel it." "How did you know Ryan?" Inura was now just mocking the human, but it only increased the rage building up inside Fox. "And why shouldn't you join us? Think about it. Do these mortals really care for you, or are you just some toy for them? Don't sound too surprised Ryan, I read your thoughts earlier. So I know all the names of your little friends." "There's no way I'd join you, you've been corrupted by your own power! And I know this because of the danger it means to my friends. And they would never think of me as a toy or some tool!" Shaking his head, Inura stared directly into Ryan's eyes and spoke again. "Really? Is that what you believe? You pathetic mortal." "What are you on about now!?" Fox shouted. "It may seem that way at first Ryan. Right now you're the most popular guy around. But what happens after that? Hmm? Will they ignore you, see you as nothing special? Face it boy, sooner or later they'll hurt you! I have my own experiences, they treat you like filth, stand on you and make you like some sort of damn freakshow! You'll experience it soon enough!" ". . . ." Ryan grew quiet and looked at the ground, but Fox took over. "Just get the fuck out of here. Ryan doesn't need this shit from you!" "Fine. You shouldn't be disturbed by us again unless we see fit. Think hard on what I said Ryan." In a cloud of shadow, Inura vanished leaving Fox and Ryan alone. Ryan was still thinking though, not taking in any of Fox's words. [Could he be right? I don't want to believe it. . .but I did get my fame for being the only human. . .what will-] "Come on Ryan." Fox had placed his hand on Ryan's shoulder, snapping him out of his current train of thought. "We should head to the hospital, you took a few hits by the look of it." ". . .Yeah. Lets go." The walk was silent but the two slowly made their way outside. Fox had contacted for some help, concerned of Ryan's injuries. Even if nothing looked serious on the outside, it didn't mean there wasn't damage on the inside. Just before they got outside though, Fox stopped and inhaled the air. "Fox?" "-sniff- That smell. . ." Ryan inhaled the air also. He couldn't really smell anything, but Fox's eyes widened. "Fox?" "The recruits and the other graduates. . .their dorms. . .they're down this hallway. . .oh no." Fox ran forward and it immediately came to Ryan. The other zealot from before. . .Mi-. . .whatever her name was, could she have attacked the others? Trying to keep up with Fox, they turned round a corner and Ryan froze. On the floor was a fox lying in a pool of his own blood. "Kayrin?" "Ryan, call an ambulance! And get Krystal, Falco, anyone to check on the other students!" "Y-Yeah. . ." Ryan made the calls while Fox tried to stop anymore blood escaping from the wound. He could only wonder how it happened, he could see a large open wound across the fox‘s chest like someone had tried to cut him open. Feeling for a pulse, Fox felt a weak one and looked at Ryan. "When's the ambulance coming?" "They'll be here in a few minutes. I got the others and Bill to check up on the students. Is Kayrin. . .?" "He's alive. But if that ambulance doesn't get here soon. . .he's lost a lot of blood." "Do you think that woman attacked him?" "Its possible." Picking up the injured fox, they made their way outside, passing Peppy and Krystal on the way. Fox however told them to go an check on the other students and graduates, they didn't argue. When the ambulance finally arrived, the medics took Kayrin inside and Ryan and Fox accompanied him. The journey to the hospital was silent. Fox made a note to inform General Pepper and if need be, the president of this new organization. He wasn't entirely sure of their goals but he thought Ryan may have known. [If I'd got there sooner. . .maybe that wouldn't have happened] Ryan however was focusing on what Inura had said to him. [How could they not be my real friends. He probably knows more than I think he does. But if he shows up again. . .I wont hesitate to kill him What if he hurts someone else like Kayrin. . .or worse.] "Ryan." He looked up and saw Fox sigh. "We better tell the general about this." Ryan agreed. Whoever these Dark Star Zealots were, they were a threat. Arriving at the hospital, both Ryan and Fox watched as Kayrin was taken away from them while other doctors examined them. No serious injuries could be found, only bruises and they were soon given the all clear. Fox had then taken Ryan aside, telling him they had to inform the general now. As they headed out, Ryan spoke to Fox. "I had a feeling. . .that they were holding back." "What makes you think that Ryan?" "He could have killed us. He said he would rather see me dead. So why didn't he kill me?" "I don't know. Lets think about it more later." The two walked out the main doors, but General Pepper and Fara were standing in front of a car. "Get in you two. You better explain." * * * "Hey, can someone tell me where I am? Anyone?" Kayrin couldn't understand what was going on. The sky had turned crimson, ruined buildings were all around him and he was all alone. He looked up in the sky and saw black lighting hitting the ground. He stepped back a little, he never liked lightning. Ignoring it, the fox walked further into the area. It was deathly quiet around him, any signs of life were gone until he saw someone move in front of him. "Hello?" "Bring the prisoner forward." He looked to where the sounds where coming from. He saw Ryan being dragged along by two men. The human was bound in chains, his clothes were filthy and ripped and it looked as though he hadn't been washed in ages. "What's going on?" Kayrin could only watch. He wanted to move and help his friend, but his legs were frozen to the ground. The two men holding Ryan had thrown him onto some kind of altar. "All bow before our lord, the mighty ruler of darkness. Yami!" Cheers were all around him and a being appeared before them. The fox couldn't make out any specific detail of this Yami guy, but he was huge. Ryan was miniscule compared to him. Its skin was as dark as it could go, and the white soulless eyes striked fear into the fox's heart. Yami looked down at the altar, his eyes focusing in the human. "Everything shall and will be destroyed. . .starting with you!" Kayrin could only watch as Ryan was incinerated by the blast. As everything cleared, Kayrin stood there shaking. Nothing remained of his friend and he could barely speak. ". . .R-Ryan. . ." He heard something and looked up at the large being. He felt the eyes on him and instantly he was in its hand. Yami's grip tightened on him, crushing his body and suffocating him of any air. He started screaming though as waves of excruciating pain coursed through him. It grew worse and worse. He knew this was a dream but the pain felt far too real. He noticed the large giant saying something, but he couldn't hear or make out a word of it. The pain intensified and threatened to overwhelm him. Everything was fading but the pain did not. As his vision failed, he could only hear one thing. "The rebirth. . .requires destruction." * * * "Kayrin!" Feeling a hand on his chest, the fox's eyes widened but someone pushed him back down. Feeling his breathing starting to ease up, he looked around him. He had no idea where he was but everything was different from what he remembered last. Looking at his left, he saw a familiar silver furred feline next to him. "Its okay, you were having a bad dream." "Tri? Where's Ryan?" "Getting the doctor. You started screaming. It didn't sound exactly pleasant." "Huh?" Tri shrugged his shoulders. "Why am I here Tri?" "That." Kayrin looked down his chest and saw it covered with bandages. "What the. . .wait . ..I remember walking down the hallway, then it just hurt. I don't know how it happened." "Well, Ryan and Fox found you in a pool of your own blood. And the doctors want to keep you here for a while. There fixing you up." "Tri? How long have I been in here?" "A couple of days." "Is Ryan okay?" "Yeah, he's fine." Kayrin felt relieved after hearing that. He couldn't stop his mind looking back on the dream he just had. "Oh, the others hope you get better soon." "That's okay." [So it was a dream and who's Yami anyway?] Hearing footsteps, he saw Ryan come in along with a doctor. "Kayrin are you okay?" "Yeah. Bad dream." He smiled, but he looked at Ryan more closely. "Ryan. . .you're neck. Its black in some places." "I know. Had a. . .run in with Fox and a paintbrush. Its just really hard to get off." Ryan made that up as best as he could, not wanting Kayrin to worry about some robed zealot attacking him. For the past few days, he tried getting the black marks to disappear but nothing worked. And it meant awkward questions had been coming up. The only consolation was that neither Claxan or Zealot had made any moves recently and it gave him time to recover from his encounter with Inura. Kayrin may not have been exactly sure what happened, but he didn't really care. The fact that the human was standing in front of him was enough but he couldn't help but worry. Lying back he just sighed and thought back on the dream. [Even if it was a dream. . .why did it feel so real?] ****************************************************************************** Well, that's the first chapter.
