Character Bio

Shade Shichiroji (EchoWolf) is a dark black wolf standing about 6'3" with an average body build. His hair comes down past his shoulders slightly and is tipped in red. The hair along the back is wrapped and done in a pony tail of sorts. Along his right side runs a white tribal tattoo which links with one on his back that is of a tribal dragon. His eyes are a deep, almost blood like, red and there is a triple claw scar running of the right one. He is not the best per say when it comes to dealing with the negativity of the city. While he will not lash out right away, his loyalty to those close to him will bring out another side that will do whatever it takes to protect them. On duty he can be a bit of a workaholic, but doesn't mind some time off for personal reasons, and passions of the heart.

Grey Garsdale (Great_Greywolf) is a Gray and White Wolf. He is about 6'1" and is a lean and muscular specimen, after keeping up to date on his physical training with no tattoos. He has a stylish mane of black fur on his head. His ears are pierced with a few small pieces. His eyes, an oddity for a wolf are mismatched. His right eye is dark blue and his left eye is a golden yellow. He is a gruff individual while on duty sometimes bordering on heartless, due to 5 years of seeing almost all there is that is negative about Furs while in uniform. Off duty he is an affectionate and caring individual with a good heart.

The Chronicles of Shade and Grey: Metro Police Files

Part 1: First day on the job? Good luck, your going to need it...

All Furries are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The city at night is a dark and gloomy place. Crack heads and gangbangers roam the streets. Citizens argue in there tenements, Furs romp around the city at all hours, doing what? It's always hard to tell. Officers Garsdale and Shichiroji roam these slums in their beat up black and white Crown Vic. Officer Garsdale has been on the force for 5 years, he is rumored to be a wildcard, tonight he is paired up with Officer Shichiroji as his usual partner called off sick. Garsdale drives up and down the dimly lit streets barely speaking with Shichiroji as he circles 29th Precinct, radio chatter playing softly in the cruiser.

"So" Garsdale finally speaks up after an hour of silence, glancing over for a moment. "How come I never seen you around before tonight?"

Shichiroji glances over to Garsdale with a bit of a defensive look. "I just graduated from the academy." he says looking back out the front of the car.

"The sergeant thought it would good for me to patrol with a veteran of the force." He proceeds to look out the side window now watching for activity along the road while listening to the radio.

Garsdale chuckles in a sarcastic tone as he pulls to a red light. "Just my fucking luck. Stuck with a rookie"

He chuckles again, continuing to talk to the air, "Thanks a lot Murphy ya prick, I'm gonna shove that Sergeants badge up your ass"

He huffs and sits in silence. As the car sits at the light, a group of what appear to be foxes wearing gray hoodies crosses in front of the cruiser. One of them glances in giving the Officers a dirty look. Garsdale flips him the bird as he pulls out on the green.

He drives on in silence for a moment. The beat up cruiser passes a group of furries drinking out of paper bags, all giving the car dirty looks. Garsdale looks over at Shichiroji again and studies him up and down while trying to keep and eye on the road.

"Please tell me you have more than one night on the beat kid" Garsdale says in a sarcastic tone.

"Shade" The rookie mutters.

"What's that?" Garsdale asks defensively.

"My name is Shade" The rookie says louder.

Garsdale huffs, "I'm Grey..." he continues to mutter for a moment before growing silent.

Shade glances over at Grey for a second before turning away again. Looking back out the side window he mutters "Other than one night close to the station, this would be my first real patrol" Shuffling away from Grey a bit, Shade watches as the car rolls by a group gathered around a stoop, glaring at the cruiser as it passes by.

"To tell you the truth, I was hoping for someone else from the rumors I heard around the station about you." Shade mutters under his breath softly.

Greys ears twitch as he picks up on Shades mutter. He glances at the road and back to Shade; he opens his mouth to speak but thinks better of it. He growls softly and turns his attention back on the road. The car continues to creep along the 29th precinct, passing furs loitering all over the place. Grey glances at the clock on the dash. "Ah, shit. I got a personal errand to run kid, wont take long" He growls to Shade, anger evident in his voice.

He picks up the pace taking a left turn into an alley further along the road and driving down it slowly. After driving down this alley for a few feet he stops and throws the car in park. "Wait here" he says getting out and closing the door. He walks further up the alley where he meets someone who steps out of the darkness. They begin to talk for a few seconds.

In the dim light Shade notices that the person Grey is talking to is a male husky. After they speak for a moment the husky wraps his arms around Grey and they begin to kiss one another...

Shade, unsure of what exactly to do just sits and stares at the two. After a few thoughts he regains his senses and looks down. He turns up the radio to try and fade out the image in front of him. He closes his eyes and leans back listening to the chatter hopping for a call to get his mind off of what he had seen and could still see outside.

Grey and the Husky continue to get frisky with one another for a few seconds, the Husky sticks his paw into Greys pants. The radio in the car, and on Greys belt squawks *Units in the 29th, we have reports of suspicious activity in the alleyway off of 13th street behind 234 Union Way tenement block, please respond, over*

Grey breaks off the kiss and apologizes to the Husky before turning and walking back to the car zipping up his pants. He reaches up to his lapel mic and says, "This is Car 12, we got it Central."

*10-4 Car 12* says Dispatch

Grey opens the door and sits down, and glances over to Shade with a wild look on his face as he says "First call of the night eh rook?" He throws the car in reverse and after turning onto the main street, hits the reds and blues and begins to drive towards the call. Grey glances at Shade every once in a while as he drives but says nothing.

Shade, having fallen into a light sleep, jumps up as the car begins to move. Looking around, he glances over to Grey. "A call? Where at?" He says rubbing his eyes still in a bit of a daze. He looks up ahead as the black and white speeds down the street to their destination.

Grey glances at Shade. "Sleeping on the job, naughty naughty wulfie" He chuckles.

"Were going to the 234 Union Way Tenements off of 13th street, for unknown suspicious activity" Grey says dodging around a double parked car and continues at a good speed down the roadway, reds and blues sweeping back and forth around the cruiser.

He looks at Shade again, "I would appreciate you keeping your muzzle zipped about what you saw earlier, its none of your concern, and it wont help my reputation much either" He chuckles again, slowing for a red light, looking back and forth and pulling through it continuing down the road.

Shade looks at Grey with shock and fear as he holds on to the dash with one paw. Looking forward again he stutters as he says "Ye...yes sir." Looking around as buildings and parked cars speed by he glances over at you again, looking over Greys body a bit. Shaking His head, he looks back out the front.

Grey happens to notice Shades furtive glances out of his peripheral vision, he grins but says nothing. As the car approaches 13th street Grey reaches over and turns off the light bar. He pulls the cruiser about half a block from the alleyway in question and double parks, turning off the engine and running lights.

Grey reaches for the radio. "Car 12 to Central"

Dispatch responds *Go Car 12*

"On scene, 10-6, beginning investigation" he says

The radio squawks *10-4 Car 12, be advised that all cars are currently busy, eta for backup will be 10 minutes.*

Grey throws the mic angrily against the dash. "Were on our own if shit hits the fan, follow my lead and for fucks sake make sure your safety is off!" He says as he exits the car and begins to walk towards the alleyway entrance.

Shade lowers his ears back as he open the door and leaves the car. Looking around nervously he follows behind Grey. "You really think things could go bad?" He says with a bit of fear in his tone as he catches up to Grey. Looking down the Alleyway he catches a glimpse of some figures, but due to the darkness he is unable to make out how many.

Grey shrugs. "Who the hell knows?" he whispers, reaching down and pulling his pistol with one paw and his flashlight with the other. "Rookie get that gun out!!" he whispers urgently, turning on his flashlight and raising his pistol as he steps into the alleyway.

"Police! Get those paws up NOW!! I wanna see empty paws!!" Grey shouts into the alleyway...

Fumbling at the latch on the holster a bit Shade pulls out his pistol and grabs his flashlight with his free paw. He shines his light down the alleyway as he follows behind Grey with his pistol lowered but ready. Looking down the trail of his light he can make out two of the figures, one being the one of the gray hooded foxes we saw earlier.

"Porkers man Porkers!! Fuck this" One of the hooded figures shouts before running off down the alley, while the other 2, a hooded fox with his paws up and a distraught female rabbit stay where they are. The females clothes are ripped in places, she is practically nude. Grey growls loudly, letting out a cry of bestial anger as he rushes off down the alley bowling over the fox that is waiting and continuing down the alley after the runner.

Grey cries out "Rookie! Cuff that piece of shit and call for assistance NOW!!" He runs out of sight down the alley...

In a bit of shock Shade runs down the alleyway to the where the fox is. Pinning the fox to the ground he holsters his gun, grabbing the cuffs from his belt. Bending the fox's arms behind his back he cuffs them together before grabbing the radio mic on his shoulder. "Car 12 to Central, requesting immediate back up!!" he calls into it.

*Central to any available units, Car 12 requesting backup at the alleyway behind the 234 Union Way Tenements on 13th st. anyone available?* Silence then some static plays over the radio. Central tries again with no response.

*Car 12, backup is currently unavailable, we will dispatch any available units as soon as we can* After a moment of silence, Grey shouts out inaudibly over the radio, his voice broken up by static...

Dragging the cuffed fox back to the car, Shade tosses him into the back seat yelling at him "STAY PUT AND YOU WONT GET HURT!!" He slams the door shut as he climbs in grabbing the microphone to the cars radio.

"Officer Garsdale, please repeat." He says hearing nothing but static.

"Garsdale, come in, are you alright?" Nothing but silence now. The fox in the back of the cruiser snickers as he slams the mic onto the dash. Getting out, he opens the back door and grabs the fox by his hood throwing him against the wall near by.

Pinning him to it and getting face to face with him Shade yells, "Ok punk what the hell do you know?"

All the fox does is snicker again and say "I hope you didn't like your partner because he is fucked."

Meanwhile, Grey pursues the hooded figure, which seems to be a dog of some type based on his scent. The dog hops a fence with Grey right on his tail. After a short distance the canine ducks into what appears to be an abandoned building. Grey stops outside the door with his pistol out.

"Central this is Officer 436, I need assistance, do you copy?" *Static*

He tries again "Rookie, do you copy?" *Static*

"Fucking outdated radios, fuck fuck fuck" Grey ducks his head in quick and his night vision can barely see through the gloom. "Fuck it" He whispers, stepping into the doorway. He is hit blindside by something big, his pistol flies out of his paw and lands somewhere in the dark as he is thrown into a wall, and knocked unconscious....

On the street, Shade throws the hooded fox back into the car. The fox is now slightly bloody and bruised. Shade climbs into the driver's seat starting the car and turning on the reds and blues. As he speeds down the street he looks at the fox in the rear view snarling at him "I'll ask you one more time, where did your buddy run off to? And think carefully before you answer because I won't hesitate to beat your ass some more."

The fox looks up, one eye swollen shut and blood running out of his nose. He shudders and shakes as he answers, "They probably took him to the...the deserted wood mill, at 46th Park Place."

Shade makes a quick right turn and speeds down alleyway tossing the fox against one door. When he flies out of the alleyway he takes a quick left and nearly collides with another unit. Both cars screech to a stop in the middle of the street. Shade gets out and throws open the back door grabbing the fox as the other Officers get out of their cruiser, a Shepherd, Labrador team .

Shade opens the back of their cruiser and tosses the fox in snarling to them, "Take this shithole back to central, and then meet up with me at the wood mill at 46th Park Place." Shade gets back into his cruiser speeding off, mental images of what could be happening to Grey running through his mind.

.....voices, laughter, cries of pain, it's dark, very dark.... Grey begins to wake up. After a few seconds He realizes he's been stripped of his uniform and weapons and that he is laying naked in a dark room. He hears voices outside, growls, whining.

He attempts to move and realizes he is handcuffed. As he bumps around trying to stand, the door is thrown open; a male hyena, wearing nothing but his own fur stands in the doorway staring at him. He growls out, "I'm gonna have some fun with you Officer" The Hyena then chuckles maniacally moving towards Grey...

As Shade approaches the mill, he shut of the lights and parks a block back. Shutting off the car he grabs the mic off the dash. "Car 12 to central. Divert all back up to the old wood mill at 46th Park Place." All he gets is static.

The radio squawks as dispatch calls out for assistance, repeating an Officer in trouble call. 3 units agree to respond and Shade hears sirens in the distance closing in.

Meanwhile inside the Mill---> Grey is tied to a table, with a group of furs all around him, poking, prodding and biting him. He is gagged so he can't make any noise as they begin to do to him what they wish....

Outside the Mill, Shade draws his pistol; he exits his car and approaches the fence line at 46th Park Place. Ducking down, he moves into the outer lumber yard, darting from one stack of logs to another for cover. As he approaches the main part of the Mill he can hear a ruckus coming from inside. He plants himself next to an exterior door and kneels down next to it pulling out a snake cam. He slides the device under the seal and turns on the monitor, moving the camera from side to side getting an image of the interior.

Shade sees a large room, mostly empty, with a few tables and chairs scattered around. There are 3 pit bulls sitting around playing cards. At the other end of the room he notices an open door and a lot of movement coming from within. He hears the sirens coming close then they stop all together.

Shade withdraws the camera and tucks it back into the pouch on his belt. He slides a silencer out of a side pouch on his holster and screws it into place on the barrel of his pistol. He closes his eyes for a moment and whispers to himself, "I know I'm going to regret this later." He swings the door open and plants himself against the wall next to it. He can hear chairs fall back against the ground as the door slams against the wall and yelling amongst those inside.

Peering around the corner he spots one of the pit bulls approaching with an Uzi in paw. Shade moves to cover behind a pile of logs close to him by the door and peers over waiting for the large dog to exit the building. As the pit bull exits he looks around weapon at the ready. As the armed dog turns to look around the in the other direction, Shade pops up and aims for the head of the pit.

Pulling the trigger a suppressed flash and pop is heard as the bullet rockets from the barrel and flies towards the pit. The pit hears the silent pop and begins to turn in time for the bullet to pierce his left eye and exit the back of his head. Blood and brain splatters the ground as the dog falls to the ground limp.

The other 2 pit bulls see this and begin to fire on the doorway blindly. The gunfire alerts the group in the back who leaves Grey tied to the table panting. The Hyena pulls his member out of Greys tail hole, "You got lucky wolf, I couldn't finish, but if your police friends make it in here you die first. That's a promise." He grabs his Uzi from off another table and the others arm themselves also and move out to the front room.

The police cruisers, running silent pulls into the lumber yard and the Officers begin to step from there vehicles, grabbing shot guns and assault rifles from there cars as they see and hear gunfire coming from the building.

Shade ducks back into cover as the volley of lead pours out of the door way. He spots the other Officers moving into position. Spotting another door he signals for cover. They begin to unload a volley back at the front door. Screams of pain can be heard as the large assault rifles unload into the building. Shade moves to the other door swinging it open and ducking inside rolling behind a crate nearby.

He pokes his head over the top spotting the other two pits one bleeding from the chest on the ground, the other in cover behind some crates blind firing at the door. He also spots two dark wolves with shotguns behind a table near the front door as well as a 2 foxes and a hyena with Uzis in cover waiting for the police out side. Weird thought but Shade happens to notice the only ones wearing clothes are the pit bulls...

The Hyena stands. "OI you piggy's better back off, ya hear me?!!? We got one of your piglets and I'm gonna kill him if you don't back off NOW!!!" He screams.

The Officers outside respond in kind, "Give it up now, we have you surrounded and we are not afraid to use force!"

The group inside shouts out "FUCK YOU" and begin firing towards the front again.

Shade moves behind the crates near under the distraction caused by the Officers. He Reaches the end of the crates and peers around the side seeing one of the two wolves with a shotgun. Shade pokes around the corner and moves up to the wolf whose back is turned to him. He grabs the wolf by the muzzle from behind and places the end of his silencer to his back whispering in his ear as he pushes him to the ground, "Now listen you fuck, where is my partner and you best answer honestly unless you want to end up like your friend outside."

The wolf, with his shotgun pinned under him, says muffled through the paw around his muzzle, "I won't tell ya shit you fucking pig!" At which Shade pulls the trigger on his pistol once, and a silent pop and a muffled whimper are heard as the wolf lets out a last breath.

The rest of the group are too busy firing towards the group of officers at the front to notice the death of there partner. Grey meanwhile is in the back, struggling weakly against his bonds, rattling the table as he moves around.

Shade sees the other wolf across from him as an easy kill; he aims and fires a round into his chest. Watching the wolf fall the ground Shade moves forward to the rear door. He looks back for a moment at the others firing at the Officers out front. Feeling the situation is as in control as it will ever be he decides to move through the rear doorway. He glances around quickly looking around for any hostiles with is gun up and ready. He spots Grey on a table and runs to him looking him over quickly to make sure he isn't seriously injured.

Grey stares up at Shade blurry eyed. He isn't seriously wounded. He is bruised, scratched, has bite wounds along his body and a nasty bump on his head. Shade figures maybe a concussion at worst. His arms and legs are tied down and he is gagged. Grey whines quietly while looking at Shade. All he can see is a dark form hidden by the bright lamp hanging directly above him.

Looking around Shade finds a knife on one of the tables near by. He grabs it and flips it open. First he cuts Grey's legs free then his arms, all the while gun fire can be heard outside. Finally he slices the band holding the gag in place; Shade pulls it off and tosses it to the side.

Grey lays there for a moment and begins to get unsteadily to his feet; he stands and looks at Shade, with a confused look on his face. "Are you an Angel?" He asks uncertainly. As Shade goes to respond Grey moves forward and kisses him, slipping his tongue into his mouth, and then Grey passes out and falls against him...

The partners fall to the floor, Shade looks at him feeling a bit surprised, concerned, affectionate and very confused. Shade notices his lack of clothing; he grabs a discarded towel nearby and covers Grey in it before picking him up and heading to the doorway. Peering out, Shade sees that the gun fight is still in full swing. He moves ducked down with Grey in arms behind the crates again. As he rounds the corner to head for the door he hears someone yell, "HEY ONE OF THEM GOT IN!!!" Soon Shade is backed against the crates with a hail storm of lead over his head.

The gang is now split between shooting at Shade and at the Officers outside. The Officers, tired of the gunfight, surge forward firing into the building dropping gang member after gang member. After a few tense moments of gun fire, only the Hyena remains. He stands and looks around before throwing his paws in the air and dropping his weapon. He is tackled bodily by a German shepherd and the others converge on the Hyena, cuffing him and dragging him out of the building.

An Officer sweeping the building and comes across Shade and Grey. "Hang on I will call an Ambulance for him" He begins to talk into his mic as more sirens converge on the scene. Grey lies in Shades arms as he comes too again. He looks at Shade and smiles stretching up and licking his neck.

Shade looks down at Grey and smiles back, still with a strong mix of feelings roiling around inside him. He stands up with the help of the Officer nearby and they begin walking out of the building. An Ambulance pulls into the lumber yard and heads in the direction of Shade. As the big white van rolls up a pair of ferrets in green medical uniforms jump out.

"What do we got?" One of them asks Shade.

"Officer Grey Garsdale, male wolf, approximately 26 years of age, head trauma, maybe a concussion, multiple scratches and bruises along the body. He's been sexually assaulted as well..." Shade breaks off unable to continue.

"Don't worry Officer; we will take care of the poor Wolfie" Says one of the ferrets as Grey is loaded onto a stretcher. Grey grasps Shades paw fleetingly as the ferrets wheel him into the back of the vehicle. The doors slam shut and the Ambulance pulls away. Shade and Grey stares into each others eyes until the Ambulance rolls out of sight. As Officer Shichiroji stands with a mix of emotions swirling inside him, his radio picks up something other than static for once.

*Dispatch to Patrol Officer Shichiroji, are you on the air?*

Shade swallows hard as he speaks into his radio. "Proceed with transmit Central."

*Internal Affairs are requesting your presence immediately back at the 29th, you copy?*

Shade shakes his head as he says, "10-4 Central." As the sun begins to rise, he begins walking to his cruiser one thought circling his brain, wiping all else aside. "This is going to be a VERY long day...."
