#1 of Self-Improvement

Part one of three (planned) in a series titled Self-Improvement. This one is a study in contrasts, with a pair who's constantly striving to get better and a pair who thinks they're already at the top, except they're massively fooling themselves. Delusion can be a pretty powerful thing, and it can hurt when your illusions are broken. Especially in this way...it's a little less kind than most of what I do.

OBLIGATORY CONTENT WARNING: This story contains sexual acts between two males, rape, rough sex, humiliation, and a less than happy ending.

"I'm tellin' you, Ral, you've got to give it a try sometime. It's like nothing you've ever done before, once you've done it once you'll be hooked."

"Gee, just what I want, to be hooked on getting fucked by Pokémon. Why do you keep bringing this up, Zeke?"

"Because you don't believe me, and you know I like to be right. And because if you're game to be fucked, that'll make it a lot easier for me to get some action myself. Wild Pokémon tend to avoid trained Pokémon unless the trainers are pretty open themselves."

"Why is that?"

The Charmeleon shrugged. "Courtesy, mostly. Most Pokémon are really sexually open, but they know humans aren't and so keep it down unless the humans are okay with it. And usually the best way to prove that is to participate."

Ral chuckled. "I guess that would be a hard signal to misinterpret. But what makes it so different than with another human?"

"Dude, you do not know what the wild is like. Humans just don't have the raw animal power or primal energy to give you a good fuck. You try it for yourself, and you'll see what I mean, it'll ruin you for humans forever but you'll be happier for it."

"Surprised you're so excited about that. You never struck me as the type to take it, always figured you for a top."

"You kidding? I may prefer that with all things being equal, but when they aren't, you'd better believe I'd bend over for them."

"What do you mean, when they aren't equal?"

"Two words: type advantage. I tell you, the biggest tragedy is that you'll probably never get to know what that's like, because holy shit, you humans are missing out. There is nothing like getting pounded by a creature whose very nature breaks through your resistance like it was nothing. It sucks during battle, but it's awesome for sex."

"Enough that you'd give up your dominant nature for it?"

"Give up? Hell, give me a bunch of them and I'd let them tie me up, lock me in place, and gang-fuck me until I passed out. If I could ever get to do that I could die a happy Charmeleon."

"I kinda want to see that happen now."

"Only if you join in!"

"Yeah, yeah...anyway, we're about to get to Talmaran, so we'd probably best leave this conversation for another time."

Zeke nodded. "Gotcha. Not appropriate for the human public."

Ral and Zeke had been traveling for four years, just the two of them, and they were closer than brothers. They weren't into the journey for badges or fame, but just to grow and become stronger, better people. The years of training had honed their bodies quite a bit - both of them were lean, fit, and muscled, and strong enough that even Ral could stand up physically against quite a few Pokémon, and Zeke could battle to a standstill many that were far stronger than him. Indeed, sometimes they had to show off that strength, and the fluidity with which they moved together made them seem almost psychically linked.

They were entering Talmaran, their original home, where they hadn't been for nearly two years. When they'd set out, Zeke was just a Charmander, and they were very new to the idea of a constant, lasting journey, imagining that they'd just be traveling for a little while and coming home quickly. Some early experiences, though, had convinced them to stay out there, working themselves diligently and becoming a pair that few would want to mess with. Even now, they weren't back for anything more than a short visit, before heading back on the road.

"So are we gonna be doing anything here this time, or just visiting Mom and Dad for a day or two?" Through they were hardly related to any Pokémon, Zeke was treated almost like another son by Ral's parents, and so he related to them accordingly.

"Actually, they're not in town right now. I have something different in mind...you remember Gus, right?"

"Oh, yeah, kinda chubby kid, right?"

"Eh, he wasn't that big, just bigger than me. We've seen bigger, right?"

"Yeesh, unfortunately," Zeke shuddered a bit; he knew it was impolite, but something about fatness bothered him viscerally.

"Now, be nice. Anyway, I figured we could visit with him for a while, see how he and Coal were doing. It's been ages since we've seen either one of them, never got a chance last time we were in Talmaran."

Zeke nodded. "Yeah, they were supposed to be rivals, but when we decided to really start to wander, we lost touch. I wonder if they've bonded like we have? They've had just as much time, almost to the minute."

"Yeah, I remember the day we got the two of you. Best day of my life so far, and I'm guessing Gus thinks the same thing. Wonder what he's been doing...well, I hope we can find out, it's been too long without word from him. It's actually a bit worrisome."

"Maybe he moved away? Or finally decided to go off on his own? There's all sorts of reasons he might have stopped writing."

"I guess...well, gotta at least try him at home. Speaking of, I think we're just about there...whoa." Ral's eyes widened as he took in the sight of the house. Gus had lived in a rather large house to begin with, but it looked like it had gotten a whole lot bigger. It had gained a whole fourth story, and expanded beyond the yard he remembered from years ago. He also realized that some of the houses around it seemed to have disappeared, leaving only the mansion with a rather large yard, some of which was being landscaped in rather grandiose fashion as they watched.

Zeke was thoroughly unimpressed. "How big a place do they need? There's just three humans, and no way Pokémon need that kind of space."

"I guess Gus's dad decided he wanted a bigger house, and he could afford it...what happened to the neighbors, though? Maybe Gus knows."

The two walked up to the door, thankfully still fairly normal-sized, and Ral gave a loud rapping. It took a minute for anyone to reply, but eventually the door opened and Gus looked out, giving Ral a wide grin. "Ral! It's been too long!"

"Yeah, it has!" Ral was a bit surprised at Gus's appearance - more portly than he remembered, and seeming to have more of an arrogant, decadent air about him, like he knew he was important and wanted to shove it in everyone's face. Ral knew that had been a risk, he was a kid from a rich family and definitely a bit spoiled, and it seemed like he'd gotten more into that lifestyle over the years. Still, he was all too eager to give Gus the benefit of the doubt. "What's all going on around here? There's a lot fewer houses and a lot more of your house."

"Yeah, Dad decided to buy out the lots so he could expand! It's pretty sweet! He had a tough time getting some of the neighbors to agree but they came around in the end! But man, has it really been over two years?"

"Yeah, way too long! And you stopped writing, so I could never get in touch with you!"

"Oh, yeah, I stopped doing the whole letter writing thing. Just too much time! Instant communications is where it's at! You should get a phone or tablet or something for us to chat, that'll be way better!"

Ral wasn't sure how to respond to that. "Well, I kind of don't do that whole thing, I go out where you can't really get any good signal."

"Ah, well, your loss! But I'm glad you came by, you're looking well, I guess, maybe a bit on the skinny side, but I guess traveling will do that to you!"

"Er, thanks, you're looking well, too."

"Yeah, looking like he couldn't fit into one," Zeke muttered under his breath. He told himself he wouldn't be mean to Gus to his face, but he really didn't like how the other boy looked. It wasn't nice, but he couldn't help it, it even got to him with Pokémon that were naturally built that way, like Snorlax.

"I've been great! I've been honing my skills as a trainer, and they've become top-notch! I've been considering entering some tournaments, I know I'll just breeze through them!" Gus couldn't have looked more boastful and brash if he tried, chest swelling out in pride. "Have you entered any when you've been out? I don't think you'll ever know how much farther you have to go unless you do!"

"Heh, well, that's not really been our reason for doing what we do, really," Ral responded, trying to avoid saying something that might upset Gus. There was no question his friend had become more haughty, it wasn't just an image, but he didn't want to cause any trouble over it. "Zeke and I have just been traveling, honing ourselves just for its own reward. I don't think we'd find our calling in that sort of thing...really, we just want to see the world, and let the journey strengthen us and make us better."

Gus laughed. "Well, now, Ral, I'm sure it's been quite a journey! But, I'm afraid you've really been wasting your time, it's so much easier to get good when you're not traveling all over the place! I found that I could become a master trainer just by sticking around here!"

"Not unless you're training for an eating contest..." Zeke once again said as quietly as possible.

"But why don't I show you? Our Charmeleons should spar, they haven't gone up against each other since that friendly before you left!" He turned his head towards the stairs. "C'mere, Coal! We've got a match!"

Ral and Zeke watched, and waited...and waited...until they heard heavier-than-expected footsteps from the stairs. When Coal finally appeared, Gus looked back at the two like the proudest parent anyone could imagine. "Here he is! All primed and ready for action! You're gonna be blown away!"

One of the things Zeke envied about Ral was his poker face; for him, hiding his disgust was becoming a considerably greater effort. To him, Coal looked nothing like a proper Charmeleon. His body was soft, pudgy, definitely fat for their kind. It lacked any semblance of strength, of the muscle tone that came with the hard work of training. His claws were clearly dull and rounded, probably worthless to cut even paper. His gaze was lazy, carefree, like he wasn't even concerned about the scrap. Zeke stood in stark contrast; sleek and toned, even thinner than average but with obvious power, claws and fangs honed for defense and attack, eyes sharp and alert, everything about himself keen and powerful. And yet, even with this clear disparity, Coal looked smug and cocky.

"Let's go out and have a battle on the road! We don't want to make a mess in the house, Dad'll have a fit!"

"Uh, right, yeah..." Ral stepped aside and let Gus and Coal take the lead, shooting warning looks to Zeke, whose expression he could read like a book. I know how this looks but keep yourself in check.

Zeke's eyes flickered back at him. No promises.

They stepped out to the road, standing a fair bit away from Gus and Coal, who were chatting and laughing with each other, looking completely unconcerned. "They don't seem to be taking this seriously, Ral," Zeke mumbled.

"I know. Well, don't underestimate him anyway..."

"I don't know how that's even possible." With an annoyed grunt, he stepped forward, steeling himself, watching as Gus gave Coal some encouragement...and a Poffin, which Coal bit into and chewed as he approached. Zeke's irritation continued to flare up; cockiness was one thing, but this was ridiculous.

"So, how's my rival doing?" Coal said it off-handedly, as if 'rival' was something essentially meaningless.

"I'm not your rival. To be my rival, you actually have to fight against me and mean it."

"Jeez, grumpy guy...traveling life must not agree with you. Gotta put some meat on those bones, yah?" He chomped down the last of the poffin in his hand and then took a rather absurd stance, ostensibly for combat but it looked more like something out of a cartoon.

Zeke couldn't help himself. He looked back at Ral with a nasty expression and mouthed This is a joke, right? Ral's expression stayed neutral, but there was a look in his eye that Zeke could read well, that Ral certainly hadn't been expecting something this bad either. With a sigh, he turned back to the hopeless Charmeleon, readying himself for what he was sure would be a quick battle.

Gus, on the other hand, seemed endlessly pleased. "All right, Coal, you're showing him already! Now get to it!"

Coal nodded and charged forward...or, more accurately, loped forward, with a slow and lumbering gait, a hand raised up to strike. Zeke just waited and let Coal approach, then grabbed the hand as it came down towards him, stopping it with little effort. The pudgy Charmeleon barely had a moment to be surprised before Zeke swept his legs and sent him tumbling to the ground. Slowly he rolled himself to a sitting position, shaking his head as he stared at Zeke. "How'd you do that?"

"You wouldn't last two seconds in the wild, you fucking disgrace," Zeke snarled, not loud enough for even Coal to hear the words, though the tone was obvious.

"You sound pleasant. Well, I'll bet my flame beats yours!" Coal breathed in and fired out a thin jet of fire that barely traveled to Zeke, who barely even felt the heat from it. He countered with his own blaze, a massive salvo that completely engulfed the other. When the flames and smoke cleared, Coal was cowering, looking well and truly pained by the blast.

Gus seemed stricken for a moment, but then was right back to his confident self. "Coal, it's okay, you're doing great! We've got them right where we want them!"

"Is he for real?" Ral asked quietly. "Gus, what happened to you?"

"Right, go and use your special move!" Coal shook himself off and got ready, crouching down like he was going to pounce. Zeke didn't really expect much at this point, but still stood ready just in case. He certainly didn't expect to see Coal roll himself into a kind of ball and start rolling towards him, certainly not fast enough to be much of a threat. By the time Coal actually got to him he was pissed off - he'd been all ready for a fight, with what was supposed to have been a potential rival, and what we was getting was an insult. He stopped the rolling Charmeleon with one hand, grabbed his exposed tail with the other, and pulled him into a mighty swing over his head, spinning him for a couple rotations before letting him go flying into the road several yards away, completely knocked out.

Gus was gaping at the sight, looking completely, and genuinely, flummoxed by this turn of events. Zeke rounded on him, looking angrier than Ral had seen him in a long time. "That was fucking pathetic! You call that a battle? That wouldn't even qualify as acting!"

"Zeke!" Ral's voice was warning, telling him not to go further than that.

And then, suddenly, Gus's face turned a deep and and he started screaming at the two of them. "YOU ASSHOLE! YOU CHEATED!"

"Wait, what?" Ral and Zeke said in tandem.

"I'M THE BEST TRAINER EVER! NO ONE'S EVER BEATEN ME! AND YOU DID ALL THAT STUFF THAT WASN'T EVEN IN REAL BATTLES! YOU CHEATED, I'M GONNA REPORT YOU, YOU'LL NEVER BE ALLOWED TO TRAIN AGAIN!"

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Zeke exploded, unable to contain himself. "You haven't trained a goddamn day in your life, and it shows! That...thing doesn't even count as a Charmeleon, it's basically a Snorlax! And because you can't stand up to an actual fight we cheated?!"

"SHUT UP! I WON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH CHEATERS! FUCK OFF AND DON'T EVER COME BACK!"

Gus turned on his heel, storming back inside, not even taking a moment to grab Coal and bring him inside. The slam of the door did seem to rouse Coal a bit, but he stayed on the ground, clearly also out of sorts if not quite as vocal about it. Ral and Zeke exchanged exasperated glances; this turn of events had been about as unexpected as it could get.

"I'm gonna have to go talk to him later, I think," Ral finally said, as they started walking away from the house.

"You sure you should even bother?"

"Gotta at least try...but I have to let him cool off for a bit. I've never seen him that pissed off...this doesn't feel like the Gus I used to know. That bothers me, you know?"

"You'd know better than I would...but he didn't leave me with a good impression, so forgive me if I'm less inclined to think well of him than you."

"Fine, fine...we'll set up camp before I do, so you don't have to come."

"Now that I can get behind. Let's rock."

Hours later, the sun was setting, and Zeke had prepared a fire and was tending to it. He enjoyed camping out, being out in nature was his element. He was more than ready to eat, but wanted to wait for Ral to return. Zeke wasn't sure why Ral was bothering with Gus, the guy had seemed like hopeless dead weight to him...but it wasn't his place to tell Ral what to do or not to do. Still, he'd give his opinion any day of the week.

Finally, he heard footsteps in the brush, and looked up to see his human partner approaching camp. He didn't exactly look happy, though it couldn't have been a total loss, Zeke would know if that had happened. "How'd it go, then?"

"I think I smoothed things over, for the time being at least."

"Really? Did he admit that he was wrong about things and that maybe he's not really that good of a trainer at all?"

Ral sighed heavily as he sat down by the fire. "Of course not. What he said was that even the best lose once in a while and he lost it because it was so unfamiliar, but that he knew things would be better next time, and our victory was clearly a fluke and he'd be watching for any shady business."

"Of course," Zeke growled darkly. "Little fat spoiled pig, probably doesn't even know what real training is."

"Zeke..."

"I'm not gonna be nice, Ral. That was the biggest fucking disgrace I've ever seen...if anyone had seen that mockery of a battle I would have been ashamed. I know you always wanna be nice and forgiving to everyone and I don't have any problem with that, but there's a point where you gotta face reality."

"I know..." Ral rubbed his eyes tiredly. "Okay, real talk. I couldn't believe it when I saw what a farce that was. I mean, Gus...I never really thought he was the kind of person who would be a big-time trainer, he's always talked big about it but I just felt like that wasn't the kind of life he'd really want. But...I mean, looking at that, I don't think he knows the first thing about training. He certainly doesn't seem to have put any real effort into it. And the way he reacted...he said he'd never lost a real battle before, but I wonder if he's ever had a real battle."

"There's no way he has," agreed Zeke. "And Coal! That chunky lizard's never been properly trained. Okay, I know that some Pokémon would rather be pets than fighters, and hey, that's their choice. But be a fucking pet then, don't act like you're some hotshot battle wizard! I'll bet he's been fed as many lies as he has Poffins, probably made him think he didn't have to do anything to be good...also probably Gus's doing, since he'd be the type."

"I wouldn't be surprised...he probably spoils Coal like his parents spoil him. And at this point, I think that's a great deal. We've seen that before, but never this bad...I don't know that there's anything I can do about that, he's influenced by his parents more than anyone."

"If it were me, I'd write it off. Not worth the hassle to keep that kind of friendship up. He doesn't appreciate it. But I suppose it's your prerogative." Zeke shrugged. "Anyway, grab the hot dogs, let's chow."

The fading sunlight was of little concern as the fire continued to roar. The conversation drifted from the unpleasantness to more enjoyable things, and it seemed like the stress of the earlier misfortune had waned in them both.

"Look, all I'm gonna say is, that Mr. Mime had it coming to him. I know a rude gesture when I see one!"

"That doesn't mean you throw him into the cotton candy machine!"

"Hey, if you're gonna get yourself banned from a carnival you might as well do it in style!"

"I'll take the option of not getting banned at all, thanks. You don't know how hard it was to talk them into letting you off easy!"

"I still say you shoulda doubled down and hucked him into the deep fryer. I coulda jabbed a two-by-four into his asshole and served Mr. Mime on a stick."

"Now I'm thinking I shouldn't have stuck up for you at all."

"See? I'll have you trained yet."

Ral snickered. "I thought I was the trainer?"

"Yeah, well, we don't seem to do much by the book, do we?" Zeke suddenly stood and stretched. "Ah, gimme a bit, this lizard needs to drain his lizard."

"Knock yourself out. Just don't start any fires, or that's how I'll make you put them out."

"You think that would work? My piss is more flammable than gasoline."

"Yeah, that's why it's supposed to be a punishment."

Zeke just chuckled and trod off, putting some distance between their campsite and his relief site. He hadn't told Ral he was going to drain himself in two ways, one considerably more fun than the other...not that his trainer would care, but it still felt a bit awkward to just say that to him. After a couple minutes of walking, he decided that was far enough, and set off to business. His cock was already hardening in anticipation, making it easy to fish out of his slit and get himself some relief. He sighed a puff of smoke through his nose as he emptied himself against a tree, the slightly steaming fluid hissing a bit on contact with the cooler bark. Satisfying, but not like the next part...

He paused. There was another light in the area, it wasn't just his own tail. Immediately he was on guard, though trying not to show it too much...if they were trying to ambush him, he wanted to be ready to counter it. He could hear quiet footsteps and rustling in the nearby brush, and kept his breathing steady...

A presence was trying to sneak up behind him slowly.

He wheeled around, snarling, coming face to face with... "You?"

The startled face of Coal looked back at him. "What? How'd you know I was-"

"We're not made for stealth, dumbass, you've got a fucking warning beacon on your tail!" Paying his erection no more mind, he pounced on the Charmeleon, quickly and easily pinning him despite his girth.

"Ouch! Hey, get off!" Coal was waving something around his his claw, some kind of cloth, and Zeke snatched it up without a word. One slight whiff was all it took to know that it was some kind of chemical whose purpose could only be nefarious.

"Well, well, what have we here? Seems like someone was trying to catch me by surprise and drug me." Zeke tossed the rag to the ground and incinerated it with a bolt of fire; it went up like a light, just like it likely would have if Coal had actually gotten it to his mouth. "What were you gonna do after that? Throw me in a ditch?"

"Leggo! I needed to make Gus happy again by showing you cheaters up!"

"We're not cheaters, you fat fuck. You're just a worthless twit..." Zeke's eyes trailed down to the other Char's groin, seeing his red cock jutting out of his slit. "...Hmph. So that's what it was. Drug me up and rape me, leaving me violated and you victorious. Amazing that you thought that was something you could pull off, never mind that it was something all right to do."

"I can do what I want! My trainer's the best, and he makes me the best!"

"Fucking delusional...I think it's time to teach you a little lesson." He suddenly shoved Coal onto the ground, and before the portly Charmeleon could react, Zeke had him pinned fast to the ground, one arm and his tail gripped with a single clawed hand. As Coal struggled to get himself into any better position, he felt something hot poke at his own tailhole, and his eyes widened.

"Wh-no! Y-you, you can't!"

"Why not? If you can, I can. Besides, I could do a lot worse to you...you tried to ambush me, I would've been well within my rights to slit your throat and leave you for dead. Lucky for you, I'm not that kinda guy...but I'm also not the kind to just leave you alone for crossing me. Go ahead and shout, no one's coming to help you."

Coal didn't have time to protest further before his tailhole was split open on Zeke's cock. He yelled out in anguish, it wasn't that it was too painful for him to take but it was supremely unpleasant to be made into a bitch for a Pokémon he'd wanted to conquer...the second humiliation was worse than the first, even though Gus wasn't around to see it. It was one thing to be beaten in battle, but like this...

Zeke's grunts couldn't be heard much over Coal's cries. The fitter Charmeleon was putting all he had into his thrusts, only concerned with getting his own rocks off. It didn't matter what Coal felt, as long as he felt Zeke's seed burning in his gut, a sign, if only temporary, of how much better he was. As it was, Coal had pretty much stopped struggling, though he was still making plenty of noise; it seemed he'd figured out how incapable he was of opposing Zeke, and had resigned himself to just riding it out.

The worst part for Coal was that he wanted it to hurt, to feel awful...but there were tingles of pleasure, both from the contact with that special spot inside him as well as he cock being ground into the dirt underneath him. The pleasure was the worst of it all, he didn't like this but could do nothing to stop the sensations...just as he could do nothing to stop Zeke, either time he'd faced him. His weakness had been laid bare before him, thrust into the stark light, and felt tears start to roll down his face as he realized just how worthless he really was.

Zeke didn't take long to finish the deed - within just a couple of minutes, he slammed into Coal, unleashing his load into the pudgy Charmeleon. Even as a Fire-type, Coal could feel the heat felling his gut, and to his shame it triggered his own climax, though it was hardly a pleasant sensation as he felt unwanted pleasure shoot through him, dumping his load onto the dirt beneath him. Once again, Zeke had bested him, and on the worst level, too...it was like a mark on him, one that he didn't know if he'd ever be able to rub away.

Uncaring, Zeke pulled out of him, wiping his cock off on the used lizard's ass. "Pathetic. Maybe you'll learn your lesson now, and not act like you're anything more than a pet. Maybe you should consider yourself honored that I'd even stick my cock in your pudgy ass. Most Pokémon that looked like you wouldn't get a second look. I'd much rather fuck something small and tough." He turned around and started walking away, stopping only to throw one last warning. "Come after me again, and you'll wish that I only rape you."

With that he trod off, leaving Coal behind. Slowly, the chubby Charmeleon stood, tears streaking down his face, nothing left to distract him from his feelings of worthlessness. Dismally, he waddled back off towards the city, not even bothering to hide his disheveled state; at this point, his pride was in such a tatters that it hardly mattered if everyone knew just how badly he'd been put in his place.

Ral was cooking over the fire when Zeke came back, acting like nothing had happened. Ral knew better; he'd heard something happening, and judging by the sounds of it, someone had come to regret going after Zeke. "Did something happen over there?"

Zeke nodded casually. "Coal tried to ambush me. I took care of it, don't worry."

Ral gave him a look. "You were over there a long time...you didn't hurt him, did you?"

"Of course I did. But nothing too serious. He decided he would try to drug me and rape me, so I just did to him what he was gonna do to me."

Ral wasn't exactly comfortable with that, but he knew better than to get in a tizzy over it. Rape wasn't exactly uncommon between Pokémon, frequently used to establish dominance or humiliate opponents, and it was definitely considered fair game to turn it back on a Pokémon that was going after you. He couldn't imagine such a thing in human society, but that was just the start of the differences between humans and Pokémon. "Well, as long as you didn't do harm to him and he'll be able to get back home all right."

"Promise with all my heart, Ral."

"Okay...well, I guess we'd better get some sleep then."

"Right. Good night." Zeke curled up next to the fire, listening to the crackling of the flames as he tried to drift off. Maybe he was a bit harsh with Coal...it couldn't have been all his fault that he was that way. But he had tried to rape him, even if it probably couldn't have ever succeeded...if he was willing to give it like that, it would be hard to fault him for doing in kind back. He just tried to put it out of his mind - with any luck, it wouldn't have to happen again.
