#13 of Love for the Birds

This is a shorter chapter than usual, and there is not so much focus on the sexual aspect of the story.

I'm uploading this now because my brain went into overload and I've already started the next chapter, which will have more sex and more emotional stuff (I hope).

I'm going to admit fully this and the next one are filler episodes to buy more time so I can think on a more satisfying conclusion, because this doesn't end with Justin's story.

When I first started writing Love for the Birds, Justin was originally dead before the story even began... I've changed this considerably from what I had before, and in a way, I've made it even better than what I had before.

Before, the only characters who were consistent with this version were Kali, Orion, Nestor (He didn't even have a name yet) and the kids... except the kids were grown up.

If I can keep this going... the focus, and I hope you can keep with this if I do decide to go this route, the story will eventually change to the kids as they grow and my original main character may take front and center if I can get it to that point. I won't say who the main character was meant to be, but if you've been reading and if you have good deductive math skills, I'm sure someone here can guess. I've left hints through the story.

But anyway, with that big Aspy rant out of the way, this is a chapter all about Justin getting settled into a new headquarters, meeting his wife again and getting to know the eager young guard who's so ready to help Justin in revolt against Nestor. But, does this fellow have good intentions or does he have his own agenda?

Read on and find out for yourself!

Justin Is Home

They had dragged the captured guard away from the village perimeter.

Justin pulled off the hawk's gag, "Justin! It's you!"

The jay bird shushed him, "I know it's me! I don't remember you, though."

The hawk stammered, "I'm Sky! My father went with you and Orion when all our warriors left to fight the wolf tribe to the north. I trained under you."

Justin nodded, "Now I remember! You've gotten bigger." He squeezed the hawk's shoulder.

Sky laughed, "I never believed the things Nestor said about you... Few of us in the guard really like what he's been doing, but... You see our village."

Justin did look. Everything he heard was true; gone were the tents and huts, in their place were stronger, sturdier cottages, big enough to support whole families. "I still can't believe this is where I grew up."

Sky nodded, "The changes are good, but how we got to it, it's just not right. Nestor portrays himself as a good leader, but he's just holed himself in his cabin, ever since his beloved Feroz killed himself. We rarely see him except when he feels he needs to remind us of his presence."

Justin nodded while Lee untied Sky, "The guard are still the warriors, and we still hold our share of the politics around here. Nestor knows that. If we dispute him, if we dispute the council, they must listen to us! I'd have Kali up with me too, she's as good a warrior as any man I ever knew."

He had to ask, "Sky... Do you know if Kali is safe?"

Sky nodded, "He doesn't dare touch your house. He knows how much the people love Maureen. She is the one who brought prosperity, even if it is through... Whoring."

Justin scratched his head, "Really? Maureen? I knew the people found her interesting, I never knew she'd be this important."

Lee helped the hawk to his feet.

Justin had more to say, "Can you get a few of the other warriors to meet with us? We'll have to be quiet about it, but if we can do this... Maybe we can get Nestor without this having to turn violent... As much as I would like to slit that bastard's throat... It's better to try and find a peaceful solution... I've seen more than enough fighting and in just one day since I've been back here!"

Sky nodded, "I know the others that I can get... You have to let me get back in there... Maybe I can get you guys into the village."

Justin nodded, "That would be great."

Lee nodded, "Agreed."

Sky started to walk away, "I'd better get back to my post. You two go before somebody sees you!"

...

The next day, Justin, Lee, Alice and Irving were there to meet with Sky and his team.

Justin was pleased to see a strong number of six with Sky.

Sky was surprised to see the other two, "Is this everyone?"

Justin nodded, "Yes, this here is Lee. The love birds over there are Alice and Irving."

Alice had been pleasantly surprised when Justin gave his blessing for her new relationship with Irving. She knew she had a good friend in Justin then. She and Irving both bowed politely for the seven warriors that just met with them.

Justin saw the birds around Sky, "Are these all your friends?"

Sky laughed, "Just the ones I could get before those loyal got suspicious."

Justin nodded, "Alright! Now where are we going?"

Sky grinned, "Just follow us!"

He and his six companions led Justin's group around the perimeter of the village until they came to single cottage. It was big enough to hold a whole army.

Inside, the whole building was setup like a hookah lounge. There were many beds for soldiers, also many pillows strewn across the floor. There were low tables where people could sit around and enjoy a meal or smoke tobacco.

There was even a communal bathing pool at the end with real running water; how they did that, not even the guards knew.

Even more importantly, Kali was there.

Justin nearly fainted the instant he saw his wife waiting for him.

Kali chirped, "Justin!" She got up to hold her husband again at long last.

Justin ran to her and the jay birds met in the middle as Kali broke down in his arms.

They fell to their knees together as Justin's friends all looked on.

...

Later they all sat together as they got caught up on the past.

Sky told Justin about the dissent that had been growing among the people since Feroz passed away. They knew the vulture had poisoned himself and it made them all question what Nestor could have done to drive him to that.

Kali sat with Justin while they all spoke, adding her own two cents every now and then. Kali told Justin about Javin, about their son, about Maureen.

Justin wanted to meet Javin, anyone worthy enough for Kali would be someone worth meeting for him. He was happy to here their son was starting to talk, then worried when he heard Maureen had taken ill.

Then Kali got to meet Alice and Irving.

Alice was at first nervous to meet Kali when she'd been having sex with her mate for the last few weeks.

Kali laughed, "Oh... If I got mad at my husband for everyone he slept with, then he'd have to for everyone I'd had since he was gone."

Justin preened his mate, "We'd both agreed it would be easier if we kept our relationship open. I mean, for those first two years we were together, we tried the faithful married thing, then Maureen came into our lives. We've opened up more since."

Kali was sad after being reminded of her mate, currently sick at home with Javin and the kids.

Justin noticed the change in her expression, "How bad is it for Maureen?"

Kali rubbed her beak against her husband's plumage, "It started at the end of last month. She'd started to complain about having fever. The shaman's treated her for it, and she's had good spells, but then there's days she can't get out of bed..."

Justin frowned, "And the shaman doesn't know?"

Irving had listened to them speak, "Maureen's your other wife, Justin?"

Kali smiled, "She is my wife, and by extension she is also Justin's wife. She came to us three months pregnant with her son. I saved her... She would have been food for some wolverine, he would have killed her baby. She stayed in our tent and eventually, we both fell in love with her. She's sweet, she's motherly, she's just not someone that we'd ever seen in our village before. She is beautiful and kind, and I love to snuggle on her tits when we sleep."

Irving moved closer, "And she's a pine marten? The old goat in the town said that."

Kali tilted her head, "Goat?"

Justin smiled, "We saw the town our Maureen came from, dear. We've seen the place where she used to live. It's a big building where many different people come and they drink much ales and eat such delicious food!"

Irving nodded, "Iomer's Tavern, named for her father."

Kali nodded, "Iomer is Maureen's son... She'd told me it was her father's name."

Irving explained, "Maureen is a pine marten, a weasel like myself... Do you know about heat?"

Kali nodded, "Maureen explained to me, it's when your females, their bodies tell them it's time for another baby."

Irving nodded, "Right! And for most mammals, if they miss their heat, it's okay, even for a bigger type of weasel like a badger or... Otter." He looked to Alice who giggled that he'd be worried about offending her. "But for common weasels like... Me, like ferrets, even martens. If our females don't breed, they can get sick."

Kali listened, "Maureen's never said something like that."

Irving nodded, "If she's how you say she is, then she probably didn't want you to worry about her."

Kali held his paws, "So... Do you... You know a way you can help my friend?"

Irving traded glances with Alice and Justin, both of whom offered no help. The stoat gulped before he spoke, "We've developed ways to combat the heat... Some girls can have a medication that helps them control their heat... But I don't have anything like that, Alice obviously doesn't need it since she's an otter... We would have to go back to the town and that's a day's walk from here."

Kali nodded to show she was still listening.

"We could also have surgery so she doesn't enter heat anymore, but that's more expensive and we'd have to take her even farther from here to an experienced doctor; we don't know how she could take the trip." He hesitated, starting to blush, "There is also a third, more immediate solution..." He looked at Alice and the otteress gave him a simple nod of approval, followed by that smirk he'd come to adore. "A male weasel, like me, would have to mate with her."

Kali understood, "I see."

Irving blushed, "I-I know that probably sounds like a ploy, like I'm just saying this just to lay with your mate, but it's true."

Kali calmed his worries, "It's okay, I believe you and... If you must do this, then you have my blessing."

Irving gulped, "And where is she?"

Kali got up, "At home..."

He stammered when she pulled him to his feet. He looked at Alice again.

The otteress only laughed then waved him off, "Have fun, Irvy!" She didn't want to tie her mate down, not when he was still so young. Then she felt a scaly hand on her shoulder. She looked up and saw Justin's smiling beak.

"You should go keep Irving company... This'll probably the only time he gets to have three girls in bed."

Alice blinked, "You're serious?"

He laughed, "Did you not see how my wife was looking at him when they left? She's a fierce huntress that one."

Now Alice was intrigued, "Really?" That was all the prodding she needed before she left the tent to follow her mate and Kali.

...

Maureen grunted where she lay, bundled tightly with a smooth, scaly arm around her as she struggled to sleep.

Javin lay by her side, worried for her well being. The cobra looked up when he was sure he heard Kali returning.

Kali brushed aside the beaded curtain which separated their new bedroom from their den.

Javin smiled to see her, then his expression changed when he saw the two tall mustelids who followed her inside. He started to get up, "Is this... A visitation, Kali?"

Visitation, that was the word they were starting to use, their euphemism for what their life had become.

Kali shook her head, "No... These two are friends from the outside... What are your names again?"

Irving introduced himself, "I'm Irving and this is..."

"Alice!" The otteress shook hands with the confused cobra.

Kali explained, "They know what is wrong with Maureen... They want to help."

Javin was listening, "Yes?"

Irving gulped at the size of the big serpent, "Um... I-I... As I'm sure you can p-plainly see, I'm a weasel, a stoat really. Um... Your Maureen, she's a weasel too... She's in the middle of her heat." He could smell it from where he stood, but his fear of the snake was controlling his hormones. "She's sick because her heat won't end unless she is mated by another weasel... If we don't do this, she'll get sicker, and she could die."

Javin listened calmly, "If it will help Maureen and if she'll consent... Then you may, but..."

Kali explained now, "Our Chief Nestor has appointed a new law that during visitations, someone must be available to witness said mating and be sure no male gets out of control and hurts one of us. So we will have to be present to make sure Maureen is safe."

Irving nodded, "That sounds reasonable. So... Should we get started?"

...

"Now, when do we start on the attack, brother?"

Justin looked up from the meal that had been prepared for him by one of the seven dissenters. "Attack?"

Sky put his arm around Justin while the other six all ate, drank and smoked together.

Lee had opted to stay out of it, remembering the last time an overly happy raptor like Sky had invited him to eat.

"Yes, Justin! The attack against Nestor and his guard."

Justin liked the food he was given, but had to disagree, "Sky, I'd already told you, I'm not going to fight Nestor. I'm going to meet with him. I still have to believe that underneath all of that exterior, there is still someone good in there, someone who will listen to reason."

Sky sighed and shook his head, "Ah... You old men and your talk of peace! People like Nestor don't listen to reason! He's a selfish bastard who cheated on his first wife and let his mate kill himself. A real man knows how to satisfy his hen! A real man can keep his mate happy! Nestor's no real man! He's a spoiled brat who suckled too much on his daddy's thumb."

Justin had listened, but did not agree with Sky's way of thinking, "It still wouldn't solve anything if we just attack Nestor before we can establish some common ground. I've seen over and over, fighting doesn't solve everything."

Sky became exasperated, "But you were one of our best warriors, Justin!"

Justin scoffed, "No I wasn't! I was a warrior, nothing more. Not anymore... I'm through with fighting... I just want this to be over so Kali and me can sleep in the same bed again, so I can feel her upon my waist as we make love."

The hawk sighed, "I can tell you still love Kali... Even when you had those other two... You can't fool me." He started to tease, "You had your way with that otter, eh?"

Justin laughed, "Actually, she had her way with me. I was taking a bath, she came in and she climbed on top of me then... That was all she wrote." He did feel himself harden from the thoughts about his times with Alice. Soon, that would end once she and Irving decided to make their union official. He groaned when he felt a hand go to the crotch of his pants.

Sky chuckled as he casually helped the smaller male out of his mammalian garment. He was pleased to see the warrior bird already showing from his avian slit. "Let me help you with that, Justin. It's the least I could do for all the teachings you gave me."

The 28 year-old bucked when the larger 24 year-old male put two fingers around his growing cock.

The other defecting guards saw what their leader was doing to Justin and chose to help him. Each discarded their loincloths before crawling around the table to hold either Justin or Sky as their group started to wake up more.

...

In Kali's house, Irving, Alice and Kali had all three undressed.

Irving, who had never seen a female avian nude, was surprised to find her with no breast. She was still a very attractive female but if he were to pick, he'd definitely go for Alice's small tits with her fat nipples. Then again, from where he stood, Maureen had a fuller pair than his mate.

Kali, meanwhile, couldn't help herself. She held Alice's little breasts once they came out, "Mmm, they are small, but still so squishy." She tittered softly while she pinched her nipples.

Alice had to bite her lip. She'd never had another female touch her like that. She was again thrown off when Kali got to her knees and started licking her vulva right in front of Irving and Javin.

Irving had to ask, "Is she always this aggressive?"

Javin laughed, "Wait 'til she gets you in bed."

Alice had to hold herself against a wall while she let the older female lap her pussy.

Javin escorted an already aroused Irving to the bed where Maureen lay.

The pine marten had started to wake when she heard the familiar giggles of her mate, knowing Kali had probably brought someone home.

Javin got on the bed first so she would see a familiar face first.

Maureen opened her eyes, "Have I ever told you how creepy it is to stare into this unblinking eyes of yours, Javin?"

The cobra hissed as he laughed, "Every morning when you wake up, dear." He helped her to sit up, "Maureen, this young man here is Irving."

She nearly shrieked when she saw the young stoat.

Irving jumped back when he saw her expression.

The other two girls had to stop when they heard Maureen's fearful reaction.

Javin held her, "Maureen! What's wrong?"

Maureen kept staring at Irving, his face just like the one who killed her fiancee, who tried to rape her, who drove her away from her loving father. "M-m-murderer!"

Irving understood. He quickly covered himself with his own tail as he sought the words he'd wanted to say when he met her.

Javin was confused again, "Murderer? You know this man?"

Irving got on his knees as he felt tears rush to his face, "Please, Miss Maureen... I am not that man. I apologize deeply for what my uncle did." He looked up at her to show her how truthful he was being.

Maureen sat up on the bed, looking at the young stoat as he groveled, "You're his nephew! That means you are the same!"

Irving bowed his head in shame, "No! I am not! I am nothing like my family! I know our reputation! I've heard all the whispers, all the insults, everyone saying how I'd be no better than Fritz! I used to look up to them and now I realize how wrong I was to do so."

Now Kali was at her mate's side as she continued to stare upon the stoat with disgust. The bird held her mate, "Are you saying... His uncle is the man who..."

Maureen sniffed sadly, "Who murdered the father of my child..."
