?Addiscend: Revealed Truths Part 2 By Natsuru
"DAD!" Nialus rushed himself forward to the welcoming arms of his father; Daedalus stood in place with proud smile on his muzzle. Once in place, the young coyote didn't waste any time locking his arms around the older canine's body. His head rested and rubbed against the older coyote's shirt. Daedalus brought a paw over atop Nialus' head; rubbing it along the young man's hair, as strands of it were sliding between the ridges of his fingers. "I didn't think that I had any parents. I had thought you were long dead." Nialus was trying his damnedest to hold back his tears, but his long, bottled up emotions took over, and let his tears stream down from his eyes.
"There, there, Nialus; I'm here now." The words that were spoken from the older male were comforting. The gentle hand strokes upon the coyote's head brought Nialus at ease. He felt very happy, to be reunited with his long lost father; he felt like he could cry at any minute now. The other hand of Daedalus tenderly moved upwards along Nialus' body, until it reached the neck; sensually rubbing along it. "That's right, Nialus; everything is fine now. And I'll take care of you, like I should have those many years ago." Suddenly, Daedalus closed his hand around Nialus' neck tightly; choking the young man. In reaction, Nialus placed his hands upon the older coyote's arm, in an attempt to pry it off from him. He attempted to kick the other coyote in the shins, but he was unable to do so; due to becoming weak as he was losing air.
Afraid, Nialus placed his hands on the coyote's arm; in another attempt to pry the limb off from him. Daedalus' answer to that was bringing his other hand around the young canine's neck; squeezing tighter to the point of making Nialus' muzzle open wide and salivate. "Geh hehehe", Daedalus chuckled evilly as a dark aura surrounded his body. Not only that, but it appeared that the older coyote's appearance was changing, as his whole body turned completely black; looking like a demon. His single eye was completely bloodshot red and it appeared to being twitching, as he stared deadly into the canine's eyes.
Nialus struggled to free himself, until his body eventually grew weak. He soon stopped moving as he lost consciousness; there was loss of all oxygen from the body. With Nialus pretty much dead now, Daedalus gently placed the lifeless body on the ground, and gave a few rubs across the head. "Don't fret, Nialus, as I said I will take care of you now", Daedalus's right hand began to twitch wildly, until a fleshy like tendril with a sharp, pointy end sprouted out from the palm; bits of blood spilled out. "Oh yes, you'll be very well taken care of", pointing the sharp end at the canine's throat, Daedalus pulled his arm back; never looking away from the fresh corpse; "You'll no longer be a thorn in the Council's side ever again."
The older male sent his forward; plunging the tendril through Nialus' throat, "GAH!" Nialus was shot awake; panting hard and drenched in sweat. His right hand gripped the sheets of his bed, while his left hand was rubbing along his throat. "It was...just a nightmare, but..." the shaking canine stopped talking for a moment to gulp, "...it felt so real. It really felt like I was stabbed in the throat." Nialus was afraid; afraid of losing his life and he knew it would be too risky to see that Councilman again. Reaching into his pocket, Nialus pulled out two things; the paper with Daedalus' cellphone number and a lighter. Flicking it open, the coyote was ready to burn the piece of paper to ashes.
"If you ever feel the need the need to call me...for anything, just call that number." Nialus gritted his fangs; closing the lighter and throwing it across the room, "DAMMIT!"
Meanwhile at the Howling Moon...
Within the quiet and empty club, Daedalus stood against the wall as he looked out the near the window. It was still storming outside, which was making business short for the day. The coyote was feeling melancholic; sighing slowly and just not feeling the mood to talk with anybody. It was clear that he was thinking about Nialus; wondering if the canine would ever call him. The thunderstorm was giving him bad memories; memories that he wish he could forget. Try as he might, Daedalus could never get away from his past, and that haunted him.
It was a stormy night and outside in this rough weather were Daedalus and another coyote; seemingly female. The male had a hand covering his left eye; lots of blood was dripping through his ridges. On the ground across from him was his wife, Allison. A hand of hers lied across her abdomen, where she had a wound at; she was losing a lot a blood and there was no guarantee that she would make it. Using his other hand, Daedalus crawled himself over to Allison to check up on her, "Allison, Allison, please wake up. Please, let me know you're ok."
Worried and afraid of his wife's wellbeing, tears had started to drip from Daedalus' right eye; onto his mate's cheek. And it wasn't just his tears landing on her cheek, but also the blood that dripped through his ridges were also falling down on to it as well; it was a good thing the blood was wash off from the rain. Slowly opening her eyes, Allison looked up to see the tears falling from her husband's eye, and the look of despair present on his face. With little strength she had, Allison managed to chuckle at the male, "W-why are you crying...aren't you s-supposed to be...my strong coyote who...never cries?"
She brought one of her arms forward to caress her husband's cheek, as she attempted to bring herself up. She cringed from an alarming amount of pain she felt at her abdomen from doing so; Daedalus grasped her wrist as he helped her back down to rest, "Please, Allison, you mustn't force yourself. You need to save as much strength you have left." Watching his wife suffering from the pain, all Daedalus could do was just shake his head in disbelief; thinking about how all that had happened was his fault. "Oh Daedalus...I'm so sorry...but I'm not sure I'll make it. So...you'll have to..." The male's ears twitched from the words of his wife, at which point Daedalus stopped her from continuing on, "No, don't say that; don't even think that. You'll make it; we'll make sure of that, you just need to..."
Daedalus was instantly cut off and his eye went wide and seemed to shimmer. With the little strength she had, Allison managed to bring herself up and passionately kiss her husband. Their lips soon parted, "Heh, what; did you think...I would ask you to mercy kill me? I just want...you to promise me that...you'll look after and take care of our pups...whenever you see them...again." With his fangs tightly grit and more tears released from his eye, Daedalus gave a nod of his head; assuring Allison that he would keep that promise. Feeling relieved, Allison smiled as tears were falling from her eyes; quietly thanking her husband before slowly closing her eyes.
After making his promise to her, Daedalus came to a sudden realization about she want him to do. Look after and take care of their pups, whenever he should see them again. Did that mean something; were their children somewhere else? "Allison, wait; where are our pups? Are they safe; did you hide them somewhere? Allison?" There was no response, Allison's body lied resting on the ground; her peaceful smile never left her muzzle. Checking her pulse, Daedalus could feel his heart shatter in distress. "No, Allison, don't leave me"; his voice was in whisper; blocked out by the rough pouring of the rain. Along with rain, his tears were falling on Allison's cheek, as he tried hard to keep himself from sobbing, but he was finding it very difficult to do so, "ALLISON!"
Alone now, Daedalus starting sobbing; thinking about how he could have found a better way to prevent all that happened. He lost everything; he felt that he once again all by himself once more and it was painful than ever. He had lost his first lover and his second lover's life was taken before him, and now he had no idea where his children were; afraid of the thought they were probably being killed as of now. There was a sudden splash and the coyote's ears twitched in reaction to the sound. Turning his attention in the direction of the splash, Daedalus was greeted with the appearance of another female coyote; Esmerelda.
Her hands covered her mouth and her eyes were wide; it was clear that her expression was that of shock. She immediately ran over to Allison and held her body, "Oh my God, Allison. Allison, please, speak to me." As with Daedalus, Esmerelda wasn't given an immediate response; Allison was long dead. "No. No. NO!" Tears were streaming from the coyote's eyes, as she held onto the body of Allison; Daedalus watched her cry her eyes out, before he lowered his head in disappointment. Putting a cease to her crying for a moment, Esmerelda's expression had changed to that of anger, as she turned to face Daedalus.
"HEY DAEDALUS", Esmerelda grabbed the male by the cuff of his shirt; angrily staring him in the face, "You were here this whole time, right? So explain to me what happened here." Daedalus was hesitant to respond to her; he just lowered his head downwards; "I'm sorry, Esmerelda, it's all my fault. Because of me, Allison is dead; the Council killed her as they also attempted to take me out." Esmerelda couldn't believe what she was hearing; the grip on the cuffs of the male's shirt had tightened, as she bared her fangs. In her anger, she punched canine hard in the face and fell to the ground. "I've always knew that you were a terrible man; that you couldn't be trusted. I never knew...just what Allison saw in you. And now...because of you...my sister...my only family is dead." She had her fists balled up and more tears were falling down along her cheeks, "I hate you, Daedalus Deninhime."
Holding nothing back, Esmerelda starting kicking the downed canine repeatedly in his abdomen, while also repeatedly saying how much she hates him. Daedalus didn't do a single thing; he just lied there on the ground and allowed himself to get kicked by his sister-in-law. To him, he felt that this was the punishment he deserved, and he just went with it. "I HATE YOU", the last kick that Esmerelda sent to Daedalus was to his face.
Back in reality, Daedalus rubbed where he was kicked in the face at; the flashback was painful for him to recall, and he could still feel the pain from Esmerelda's attack. He gave a sigh as he looked around the empty the club, "Maybe I should have this place closed for today; I don't really feel like working." There was a sudden thunder strike; prompting the coyote to look out of the window, "And the weather outside just guarantees that I won't be getting a whole lot of customers." Taking a step forward, Daedalus came to a complete stop once he felt a vibration from within his pants pocket; his cellphone was ringing. Pulling out his phone, he took a look at the numbers on the screen; they were unknown to him, "Could it be?"
Clicking on the answer button, Daedalus placed the phone to his ear and replied, "Yeah!" There wasn't a response for a moment until, "Hey, is this you, Daedalus?" The canine's eye slowly widened as he recognized the voice on the other end. It was Nialus; he couldn't believe that he actually just called him. "N-nialus, you actually..." the older canine was cute before he could continue on; "Listen, I just...wanted to meet up and...chat with you about things. Do you know a good place where we...could meet up at?" Daedalus was speechless; no words could express how happy he was feeling right now, to have his son speaking to him. "Hey, are you still there?"
"Oh yes, sorry; I'm still here, Nialus. And I think I know the perfect place for us; a simple diner downtown." On the other end of the line, Nialus was still very hesitant about what he was doing, but he did wanted to know more about himself. That is, if this Daedalus person really did know anything about him. After a brief sigh, the young coyote complied with the older man's offer, and asked what the name of the diner was and what time they should meet. "The name of the diner is La Aliment et Doux. It shouldn't be too difficult for you to find, and as for the time we should meet up, I say maybe somewhere between seven and eight in the afternoon." Nialus was silent for a moment; contemplating the decision he made, before he replied back with an "Ok."
Daedalus gave a toothy grin, "And don't you worry about anything; I'll pay for all of our meals. It'll be my treat." Nialus didn't know exactly how to express himself as he listened to the coyote talk. To him, it felt like the older canine was trying too hard to get them both into a better relationship. "I can't wait to see you at the diner, Nialus. It'll be as if we were out on a date." Nialus cringed; that coyote had used that word again to describe how their day would be spent. Nialus felt sick to his stomach from the use of that; it made him want to vomit. If it was true that this Councilman was his father, then why on Earth would he be making such a disgusting joke? Was he just fucking with his mind? "See ya!" After that, Nialus had ended the call, which in turn caught Daedalus off guard, but he wasn't bothered by it. He just smiled as he returned his phone into his pocket; walking over to the exit, "Well now, it's been decided. I won't be working today after all."
Back in Nialus' room, the coyote just sat in his bed; thinking about how stupid he was about agreeing to meet up with Daedalus. He theorized that things would end badly. On the other hand, maybe things wouldn't be so terrible and if he played his cards right, he could probably learn some things that may help to take down the Council. The coyote was put on edge once he recalled images of the nightmare he experienced last night; that awful dream where Daedalus turned into a demon and killed him. Looking at the drawer beside his bed, Nialus opened it to pull a dagger out from it; looking at his reflection as he stared at it. "I'll take this with me as a just in case. If that Councilman dares to try anything funny with me, then I'll either stab him in his other eye or in his throat. That should allow me enough time to escape from him."
At the La Aliment et Doux... 7:34 pm...
Nialus and Daedalus had arrived together at the appointed diner; walking over to their seats as they entered. Once they both had taken their seats, Nialus moved himself over to another seat; he didn't like sitting directly next a member of the Council. It was understandable to Daedalus; Nialus had every reason to be cautious, but the older didn't let it bother him as his smile never disappeared. Even after noticing the dagger that his son carried, didn't make him lose his composure. There was a long silence between; neither of them making an effort to start up a conversation. In fact, all Nialus was doing was watching Daedalus from the corner of his eye; making sure he wasn't planning something.
Feeling that their silence was going a little longer than it should have, Nialus turned to face Daedalus as he was about to speak. "Hi there"; before he could speak, Nialus had stopped and brought his attention to the new voice he heard. Standing before him and Daedalus was a husky with lavender colored fur; about the age of nineteen. "I'm Miwa Nakagoshi, and I'll be serving you as your waitress for today", she introduced herself to the men as she handed out the food menus to them; paying extra attention to Nialus in particular. "Hey there handsome; what will your order be for today"; she slowly fingered his chest in a teasing manner. Nialus was flustered and sported a pink blush across his muzzle; he was quite shy as he wasn't used to talking to females. Not helping was the fact that she was clearly flirting with him, "Uh...well...I guess I'll have the...um..."
Daedalus snickered as he found it to be quite funny to see Nialus; who before now was all badass and attempted to kill him, including himself. But now, here he was suddenly acting shy; as if his badass attitude never existed. "I'll order for him and by extension, I'll order for myself as well. We'll have the steak, a cup of coffee, and for dessert, we'll have the Poire belle Hélène." After writing down their orders, Miwa smiled as ran off into the kitchen to prepare their meals. Once out of sight, Nialus turned and glared at Daedalus, "There was no need for you to do that, y'know. I could've ordered my own food." Daedalus shook his head and chuckled, "Oh really now; from the way how you were acting, I didn't think you would ever order. I'm guessing that was your first time ever talking to a woman."
Nialus growled through his fangs as the older was pushing his buttons; his claws dug into the table as he clawed along it, "Is it quite possible that you're also a virgin?" Angered, Nialus balled up a fist and slammed it against the table, "CUT THE SHIT, OLD MAN." There was another moment of silence, but this time it was a short one as Nialus began asking some questions; "So, are you really my father?" Daedalus gave a nod, "Yes Nialus, I am. And to prove it..." searching through his pocket, the older coyote pulled out what looked to be a locket and opened it to show a photo to Nialus; "...here's this." The young man took the locket and gazed at the photo; seeing a cub version of himself being held lovingly by Daedalus and Allison, "Who...is this woman?"
"That's Allison; my late wife and your mother." Nialus leered at the older coyote; the look of mistrust was evident on his face. For all that Nialus knew, the photo was probably fabricated, but taking another look at the photo did seem a little bit familiar to him. "So, you mentioned that she is late wife. Am I to assume that she was killed by someone from the Council? Someone, like you, perhaps?" Daedalus lowered his head in regret; even if Nialus didn't know who killed his mother, the older coyote still considered it his fault, and he did feel as if he killed Allison himself. "Well, you are right that about it being someone from the Council who killed her and...it really was my fault."
Nialus bared his fangs; just from the older canine's answer, had made it clear that Nialus couldn't trust him. Daedalus had just flat admitted that he killed someone who was supposedly his mother. Was it due to hatred; did Daedalus not what the concept of love was? The young man was right; there was no way that this person from the Council was father, which then brought up another question. "So then, oh father of mine; why are you working for the Cou..."
"Rather than continue with your annoying questions about the Council; how's about you keep your muzzle shut about that organization, and just enjoy our time together right now?" Nialus was pissed; how dare this man just up and cut him off from asking his question. He wasn't going to let that stop him; he was going to demand to know more, even if that meant he'd have to get violent. "I'm back", the sudden return of a familiar voice had caught Nialus' attention; it was Miwa who had just returned with their meals. "Here are you meals, good sirs. That'll be three hundred and seventy-four dollars, please." Nialus was taken aback; that was a pretty high price for two steaks, two cups of coffee, and two plates of Poire belle Hélène, but he wasn't going to complain. Seeming to forget or he just didn't believe his words; Nialus was just about to bring out his wallet to pay for his portion of the meals, until Daedalus place the appropriate money onto the table, "Here you go; three hundred and seventy-four dollars. Plus a tip."
Miwa bowed her head in thanks and went back into the kitchen. Once gone, Nialus looked back at Daedalus in annoyance, "You didn't have to do that. I could've paid for my portion of the meals myself." The response he was given came in the form of a smug look from the older canine. Choosing to ignore him, Nialus went onward to eat his food and his eyes sparkled. The food was incredible; it tasted better than what he usually had back at the Resistance. It was very strange; why would someone he viewed as evil be willing to go out of his way, and treat him to such delicious meals. Was it possible that Daedalus was attempting to lower Nialus' guard; trying to put him into a false sense of security?
A warm smile was present on the older coyote's muzzle, "Hehe, I see you're really enjoying your meals." As Daedalus took a sip of his coffee, the younger coyote placed his fork down against one of his plates, "Another question; why are you doing all of this? Why are you trying so to be nice to me?" As Daedalus was just about to take a bite of his dessert, he put down his fork and replied that he was making up for lost time. The older canine got behind Nialus and hugged him, which caught him off guard; his only reaction to suddenly being touched was to go for his dagger, Daedalus placed a hand over it in place to keep him from taking it out. Nialus felt uncomfortable; being touched by a Councilman, but it felt sensual.
"Listen Nialus, you should know that I'm really sorry for not being there for you past twenty years." His words sounded so sincere; Nialus felt himself coming at ease from hearing the older coyote's voice. "I never forgot about you, Nialus, and you should know that, as your father, I love you." Nialus' eyes suddenly went wide and he felt his heart beating; those words spoken by Daedalus really hit the young coyote at a soft spot deep inside of him. Nialus was confused; emotions were filling him and he didn't know what to think about Daedalus. He could feel tears starting to well up in his eyes, but he absolutely refused to cry for this man. But it was proving difficult for him to hold his tears in; leaving him with only one solution.
Managing to break himself free from Daedalus' hug, Nialus ran outside into the rain and out of sight of the diner. Daedalus was left awestruck and Miwa was concerned, "Oh my, do you think he'll be ok?" Worried, Daedalus exited out of the diner and went into the direction that Nialus headed; finding him in the alleyway just next to the diner. The young coyote held his head up; letting the rain pour down onto his face to hide his tears. "Nialus, I know what you're feeling right now, and it's alright for you to cry. I don't think anything less of you." Nialus glared and growled at the older canine; stomping his way over to him. "You actually think that I'm crying. That is something that I would never do that; not for you, not anyone. You see these so called tears, old man; these are nothing more than rain drops going down my face." Nialus was lying; he was distressed and Daedalus knew this, "Nialus."
Wanting to comfort him, Daedalus stepped forward and pulled Nialus closer to him; placing a hand under his chin and lifting his face upward so they could face each other. The older canine pulled the young man's face forward, until their muzzles were locked with one another. While Daedalus had his single eye closed, Nialus eyes had widened and he sported a pink blush. Nialus didn't know what was going on right anymore right now; just that his father was swapping spit with him. Although it felt nice and Daedalus was handsome to him, the young man did struggle to break free from the kiss. Though, just as he was calming down, Nialus returned the kiss to Daedalus; closing his eyes and allowing his tongue to dance with the older canine's own tongue in such passion.
At Daedalus's place...
It was around midnight by the time the two coyote's entered the apartment. While inside, Nialus took a moment to look around the place, "No need to be worried, Nialus. I can assure you that my place is safe for you to stay the night." Nialus was entirely convinced, but as he continued to look around he could see that the older coyote's words seemed to be true, and at the very least he was appreciative of him allowing him to stay the night. He sat himself down onto the bed, "Thanks...I guess." In a flash, Daedalus brought himself over and hugged Nialus once more, "As I said back at the diner, I'm going to make up for all the lost time. I'll take very good care of you; I promise you that much." Nialus attempted to speak once more, but immediately cut off by the older canine locking their muzzles together again. However, Nialus wasn't vulnerable this time like he was back outside at the diner, and in response he kneed Daedalus in the gut; making the older canine keel over in pain to the floor.
Although irritated by the older canine's actions, the blush that Nialus sported remained on his face. "Listen; don't instantly think that everything is alright and that we're all buddy-buddy now. Besides, I haven't really accepted you as my father." Clutching his abdomen, Daedalus snickered as he was getting himself off of the floor, "That was...a good one...son. I see you've...trained yourself a lot for combat preparations." Nialus shook his head in annoyance; he felt that everything to Daedalus was nothing more than a joke to him, although it did make a smile appear on his muzzle. However, Nialus switched back to a serious look, "Anyway, if you want me to accept you as my father, and win my...affections, you'll have to work for it."
Seeing that Nialus was being serious, Daedalus stopped messing around and nodded his head in agreement. The older coyote had lost his son once, and he didn't want to lose him again. "Also, seeing as you are a part of the Council; I want you to help me and the Resistance take them out." There was moment of silence between the two; that was a pretty gutsy move of Nialus to ask for a Council member's assistance, as he wasn't sure if he'd be turned down. However, to the young man's surprise, Daedalus agreed to help the group that Nialus worked; explaining that he was disgusted with the way they handled things. However, Daedalus soon made it clear that if he was going to provide assistance, he would have to do it his way; something of which Nialus wasn't too keen of. "So, do we have a deal here", Daedalus brought out his paw as he awaited for Nialus to shake it; though hesitant at first Nialus decided to go along with it, "Fine."
A loud thunder roared after the two shook paws; prompting them both to look towards the nearest window. After their paws broke apart, Daedalus walked over to the window and looked out it; lowering his head and ears soon after. Seemingly worried, Nialus asked the older coyote what was making him feel depressed all of sudden. "He's...still out there"; Nialus raised a brow from the response, "Nialus...there's another thing you need to know. You have...a little brother." The young canine's eyes had widened; he found this revelation to be just as shocking as Daedalus being his father. "You...can't be serious", Daedalus slightly turned his head to Nialus; the look from his single showed that he was very serious. "So then...who is he?"
"His name is...Daemon."
Outside within the storm; somewhere at the slums within the city of Addiscend, there was little shack. Within the shack was young coyote boy; about the age of seventeen. He wore a white shirt, blue shorts, red and white shoes, and a red cap. He was busy working on a sketch as he was eating on some apples he had with him; ignoring the water dripping through the roof of the shack. Despite the situation he was currently in, he seemed to be keeping a positive look as he worked on his sketch art. What he sketched seemed to be a happy family of four coyotes; each of them with names written above their heads: mom, dad, brother and...Daemon?
The artist of the sketch was none other than Daemon Deninhime and he seemed very pleased with the sketch he finished. A tear ran down the side of his face and dropped down onto his art, "Come on now Daemon, you know this will never become a reality." With the sketch in his paws, the young coyote walked over to the door and opened it; holding onto to it as he felt the strong winds blowing. He brought out his paw that held the sketch, "This happy life within this sketch, is nothing more than a fairy tale ending that will never happen." After those words had left his mouth, Daemon had let the strong winds take his sketch; watching it fly away within the storm.
End!
