Garreth hadn’t needed to sleep for a week, so he wasn’t used to waking up. He also wasn’t used to feeling so... small. Though still covered in fur, and a quick feel of himself showed he had a canine muzzle. He had so little muscle on him he felt human again.
He climbed to his hind legs, backwards but still meant for upright movement. Being able to see his feet stunned him. Seeing ahead of himself with his own eyes also felt weird. Having been huge for so long, coming back down to these proportions felt humbling. He was fragile. Helpless. After feeling strong and powerful for the past week, it was difficult to come to terms with this again.
The cave seemed empty. No one in sight.
Garr felt a shiver down his spine, and the fur on his back rose. He took a few tentative steps forward. His steps echoed throughout the cavern. For the past week he sensed the entire cave and everyone in it. Now he was small, alone, helpless, able to see only what was directly in front of him.
He called out.
He couldn’t hear himself.
He saw flames out of the corner of his eye. He turned to look but no fire was there. Only the distant cave wall.
Garr almost started thrashing and screaming just to hear himself—he’d had this dream before, many, many times in the past. He saw flames again. Houses on fire all around himself. He turned to look, and this time they persisted. No heat. No flickering on his fur. Only his canine hands reminded him he wasn’t asleep. Just as the sense of being trapped in a recurring dream hit him, he turned.
Something was coming out of the flames. It stood twice as tall as the church steeple. Blood red scales. Green lines up and down his flanks. The dragon’s chest puckered between his forelegs, which also jutted out. His neck had lines of muscle running up and around it. The dragon stared at Garreth.
Right about now, Garreth knew his father would snatch him up and carry him away. He willed his father to stay back and let him look because he wasn’t afraid so why should he run?
Garr stepped toward the dragon. The dragon continued breathing flames in all directions. Garr slowly approached, more definition coming out on the dragon’s body. The underbelly. Garr wanted to see it more clearly.
As if hearing him, the dragon turned to the side, flaming another part of the village, more homes, the church itself. Garr could see it now. His stomach. Dozens of little muscles under his chest and going all the way down between his legs.
The dragon was hard. The penis was easily half the dragon’s body in length.
The perspective began to rise. Garr had control of his height, and now he approached the dragon from the air. He liked these dreams in his youth. He could see the dragon from more than a ground perspective. Now he was eye level with the dragon’s penis. The dragon noticed Garr and looked down his flank as he approached.
Garr knew the dragon sensed Garr had no fear. In his dreams, the dragon always knew Garr wanted to admire him, so he stopped flaming things and allowed him. Garr ignored the penis and placed his hand on the dragon’s flank. His stomach was like a sculpture, and the muscles lining it could have moved a mountain. His hand wandered up his flank and explored the foreleg. The back of his arm radiated strength. Garr’s own penis came into his field of vision but did not obscure it.
The dragon lifted his arm so Garr could see his chest and stomach clearly, and now Garr could see everything. All the details he missed as a youth. He ducked under the dragon’s chest, and now he could feel these giant muscles with his own hands. Each could have been a bed to lie on. Lowering his leg, the dragon stood with his feet close together, puckering his chest and his stomach for this lone admirer. Garr explored these bulges, examining how the muscles interacted while he looked down on Garr from high above.
Garr felt movement around him, and he turned away from the dragon’s chest.
More dragons walked about now. More blood red lizards, wings outstretched, all looking at him, the last person in the village who wanted to stay and admire their magnificence. They were walking just for him, showing Garr what they looked like in motion, knowing he wanted to see more and he never wanted them to stop.
They were getting bigger. The first dragon nudged Garr forward with his head, and Garr walked on air toward the others—no not on air. Garr’s feet touched the ground. Perspective seemed to be warping, and then Garr realized he himself was growing to meet them. This happened in his dreams often as well. No flight. He could meet the dragon’s eyes because there should be no height difference. He should be able to reach anything he desired, and as he walked, he became taller, coming closer to eye level.
But the dragons wouldn’t stop growing. Arms bulging outward. Veins popping up. Dicks stretching and filling so some of them were lifted up by them, feet unable to touch the ground. Muscles lining the back pushing against the neck muscles that spiraled up to the dragons’ heads. Chests swelling large enough to pucker against the ground.
Garr found a voice again as he watched these twenty dragons in motion around him, walking through the flames of his burning village and untouched by all of it.
“You are beautiful.”
At his words, the dragons around him all paused and regarded Garreth. They continued expanding and presenting their bodies to him, showing him how they moved and making them bunch up and grow just for him as his reward for showing them reverence instead of fear.
Garr wouldn’t run from them. He hated his father for taking him away from such beauty. Garr’s length began growing. He became taller. His chest began to obscure his downward vision.
This was the part of the dreams where his father always took him away, but not this time. Garr ran to them, his height rising up to meet their eyes with every step, arms pushing his chest muscles out farther and farther.
Nearly eye level with them. The closest dragon’s penis poked so far out between his chest Garr reached it first. He rested his hands on it.
Garr’s height shot up and his own body doubled in thickness. The dragons now looked up at him. Garr knew they admired him now. The few times he made it this far in his dreams, they always ended with him releasing. Garr finished now, and with each pulse his body changed:
Fur retracted.
Limbs altered.
Scales replaced the fur.
He couldn’t stand upright anymore, so he dropped to all fours.
His penis continued to lengthen and push his legs apart.
His height rose.
At the same time, the dragons fell further and further downward, losing their scales, standing upright.
They became humans looking up at him as flames roared around.
Garr knew they admired him because he could see himself from their point of view. He was the blood red dragon. He had green lines up his arms and neck. His chest was so large it became mountains the people had to strain to see beyond. His thighs were thick enough to need a cartographer to navigate them.
Garr breathed fire all over them, but the flames did not touch them. They still admired him.
“I... I...” he slowly found a voice. “I never made it this far in my dreams before.”
The townspeople below spoke all at once. “It’s where you always wanted to end up.”
“Thank you, Ethrix.”
“This moment in your life had a tremendous effect on you. Helping you deal with your urges helps me as well.”
Garr’s arms swelled. His chest pushed his dick against the ground. His height slowly rose, and Garr widened his stance to accommodate his muscles fighting for position. Garr looked himself over through the eyes of the townspeople, gasping and marveling at his own form.
“I never knew I loved him.”
The townspeople answered. Their bodies were distant now, but Garr heard them clearly. “Everyone who stays past a year tends to have a moment like this. So many of you saw a dragon in your youth but instead of fear, you felt something else.”
The townspeople began morphing into various canines and felines and lizards and birds, some on two legs, others on four, catching up to Garr’s height. He saw the blue streams connecting them to Ethrix in the distance behind himself. The flaming buildings vanished, and Garr could sense the entire cave as a whole again.
He received memories from some of the others: one person saw a sleeping dragon as a young man and just a casual walking survey of the body before him gave him a reaction he had never felt again until he came to this cave. Another person found a dragon feeding in the forest and actually walked up to him and stood between his legs for some time, the dragon never knowing he was there.
So many others had this reaction. Seeing so many memories from so many other people confirmed all dragons were muscular monsters. Human stories portrayed them as fearsome and destructive. The people who remained in this cave saw them differently. Now he could put it to words: they were beautiful creatures.
He felt a paw on his scaly shoulder, and Garr looked. Linus was holding him. He nuzzled Garr with his snout.
“Ethrix indulges us from time to time. He helped me live desires I never knew I had.”
Garr saw the feline’s memory: he had been in his twenties when he first saw a dragon. Two of them sparring on a mountain pass. He hid and watched. Without realizing it, he had been touching himself, so he whipped it out and finished. In his dreams, the dragons noticed and came to him, and suddenly there was no height difference. They mounted him one after the other, making him bigger in the process. Sometimes he dreamed the more they mounted him, the bigger he became. Ethrix had recreated that dream for him, now possible to live it himself and not wake up just when things became good.
Garr licked him on the muzzle. “Thanks for being part of mine. You played Jixai well.”
Linus patted his shoulder, then his pectoral. “My pleasure, but it wasn’t difficult. All I had to do was exist.” He licked Garr’s pec and squeezed it.
The others began to disperse. Everyone was half the height of the cave, but some were morphing into smaller things.
“Did you ever see another?” Garr asked.
“No, just those two. Always wanted to meet others. So when a Kobold made me the offer, I had to see one again. It turned out to be even better than I hoped for.”
Linus turned and led the way deeper into the cave. Garr followed, taking great pleasure being the dragon from his youth, but even bulkier. He could feel the muscles pushing on each other. He felt his cock swinging, brushing against his stomach. He felt his shoulders flex against his neck. He wondered if he could move a mountain as he looked at the four-legged feline, who bulged excessively as well, penis twice as long as his body leading the way.
“Most people run in fear of dragons. I always imagined it had to be some kind of virtue that I didn’t. The few people I told about it said I deserved to be roasted that day. Lucky my father was there, but I knew that blood red dragon wouldn’t have harmed me. Even back then I was sure of it.”
“You might get to live it again,” Linus said. “Sometimes Ethrix idly lives our dreams, too. Anything can happen here. I’m sure you’ll end up part of someone else’s dream.”
“Yours, I hope.”
Linus smiled as his penis grew two yards longer and he had to widen his stance to make room for it.
