Chapter 6: Greave
Imported from SF2 with no description.
Sometimes I would like to cut my brain out of my head. Especially in time like this! All the way through the ceremony for Toby's parents I couldn't help but to think about the history of religious art and compare the different points of view about God and the death of the different popular religions. And now all I can think of is how much a great job had done the embalmer restoring Nicolas' and Catherine's bodies. It's not that I'm a jerk or that I am senseless, it just that my brain tend to run from any situation too emotional by rationalizing it, but in that kind of situation where nothing is rational, I just lose focus. Yet again, look at me, running again. I'm pathetic. Wait, as I was saying a last goodbye to these two people that were so important to my friend, Toby started to run out of the church. I run after him.
"Toby! What are you doing? You should be with your family to say a last goodbye for your parents, not running like that! "
"Sorry Mister David, but I can't take it anymore. Please put me under full control!"
"No way! Why would you want me to do that! "
"But Mister, thinking hurt too much! I just want to stop. .."
"There's no way I can do that! In fact no more links until you have finished morning your parents."
"But why..."
"Shut up and listen to me! If you don't, there will be consequences! Now I think I do know what is best for you, especially right now! You will do exactly as I say and ask no more questions! You have some obligation to fulfill and I order you to fulfill them! "
"Yes master..."
"I hope I am not interrupting anything important, but we are about to close the coffin."
"No Michael. We were about to go back inside. Right Toby?"
"Yes Mister David."
Look like I lost my temper, and I give the full of it to Toby. I never had any parents, so I think he should be as much as possible with them, even if they are dead. Wait a minute! Did he have just called me "master"? No, I must have been mistaken, and he in fact said "mister", as usual. Well, now it's time to go to the cemetery.
...
Today is the day of the opening of Toby's parents' testament.
"The testament of Catherine and Nicolas Wargner will be opened in the presence of Toby and Michael Wargner, sons of the testimony's owners. David David will act as a witness of the opening. I should inform all of you that I will record everything. Now, let's go with it. "
He just takes a letter opener and, well, opened the testimony.
“So let see. “This testament represents Catherine and Nicolas Wargner last will. It takes priority over any prior testament.
“"In the case of the death of only one of us, everything will go to the widow, as stated in the wedding contact.
“"In case of the death of both of us, 60% of Wargner and co. will go to Michael. The other 40% of the company will go to Toby, as well as everything else we own." That's all there is. I feel the need to inform you that if one of you would like to contest this, you will need to prove that your parents were not capable to take this decision, the existence of a more recent testimony or that your parents had the intention of changing this but didn't had the time to do it."
“Everything will be alright, thank you."
“Really? I'm surprised you didn't contest the fact that you only have parts in the company!"
"With all respect, it's not of your business, but I'm also the new head of the company. As today, I own almost as much myself than Toby is. So I'm more than happy with that situation. Now if you would excuse me, I would like to sign the papers so I could get back to the company. "
"Yes, certainly. I already prepared them. You only need to sign here, then David will sign as a witness and I will finally sign to notary the transaction. "
We did exactly that, and then Michael exited.
"Now, I will need the two of you to sign a lot of documents. When we will finish, you, young Toby, will be rich."
