PART: ONE HUNDRED & TWENTY NINE.
W hile Jack had no qualms about waiting in line for anything, he found himself feeling rather embarrassed to be held in the arms of his dear blaziken friend and though it may well have been just his imagination getting the better of him, he was sure he could feel every one’s eyes upon him as he was carried by some great hero like some fairy tale princess.
“Bla…Ziken…Blazi…Ken…ken…Bla…Zi…Ken…Blaziken…Blazi…Ken…Ken”
[See how they look on enviously, as he is carried into battle by the strong]
Blaze announced proudly, her head up high with shoulders thrust back as though displaying how impressive she believed herself to be, something Jack had no doubt the fiery battle junkie was more than capable of proving should any be foolish enough to doubt her. He could feel so many eyes staring at him, almost as if judging him.
“Lucario…Rio...Lu..Car…Rio…Lucario…Rio…luca?”
[Don’t you think you should be saving your strength?]
Lucy noted, adjusting her attempts to reason with her teammate.
“Bla…Zi…Ken…Ken…Blaziken…Blaze!”
[Maybe so, but My Jack is no burden, see!]
The fire chicken clucked, to emphasis this she tossed the poor human into the air and just as easily catching him again. Jack was not enjoying this display of might, finding himself preferring the judgmental eyes of those around them, rather than to be suddenly be flung into the air only to then be none to gently caught like a sack of potatoes. With a strut in her step Blaze too a few more steps as the queue began moving along, Lucy was looking quite concerned as their trainer was tossed again only a little higher this time.
“Lucario….Cario…Lucario…Rio…Luca…Lucario?”
[Please, I don’t think Jack can take much more?]
The coyote pokémon begged, her paws raised to her colleagues’ upper arm as if pleading with the powerful avian to stop.
“Blaziken…Blaziken..Blaze…KEN!”
[Don’t be so weak, see he’s just fine!]
Blaze snorted tossing him one more time just to prove her point before looking down to see his dazed expression, grudgingly she stopped allowing Lucy a chance to try reviving him with gentle taps to his cheeks with her paws. Moving the coyote pokémon aside the fiery chicken gave firm whacks across his face failing to stir him from his faint. The best part of eight minutes would pass until Lucy and Blaze could see the head queue; Jack hobbled along with the aid of his stick; he was awake once more though his cheeks stung with sizeable red welt marks from their less than tender ministrations. Both Lucy along with Blaze had an arm around his waist to provide support. The ordeal had taken much out of him, for a few seconds he considered heading back to the hotel to rest up, though those seconds swiftly gave way to a sense of disgust with himself. Jack outright refused to let himself just submit to how drained he was feeling, how could he not, when his dear pokémon standing astride either side of him as well as those in the breachers were there to support him. who was he to just give up now? maybe it was Blaze’s bloody mindedness rubbing off on him but still he would be damned if he let them down after all they had done for him.
Up in front he could see how each challenger faced a different member of the gym, as the gym member that had just battled would be replace another in a constant rotation, it made sense since it would keep both gym member and pokémon well rested for when their turn to battle came back around again. It defiantly scuppered any sly scheme used by those aiming to go last with the impression they could win by going up against a tired representative of the gym. Additionally, it also meant challengers would not be able to know what or even who they might be facing, until the battle actually started. Jack watched each battle in fascination, his mind analysed each attempt by the challengers in the slim hopes of learning some form of viable tactics, this proved fruitless as the fights would only last but a few moments before yet another pokémon would fall to one the representatives of the gym. With every defeat everyone in line moving up a space as another would try their luck only to be soundly defeated as well, eventually the line in front of him dwindled until at last it was his turn.
“Do you have your entrance token?”
The squeaky voice of a youngish teen asked Jack, he blinked for a moment as she looked at his hand still clutching his participation medal.
“Oh, there it is, please go right on in, good luck!”
She sweetly added waving him through, he smiled and nodded his head to her as he was glad, he hadn’t thrown it away or lost it, it had more value to it than he had known. For a brief second, he had wondered how many challengers had tossed theirs away only to find they couldn’t participate after waiting in line. Making his way over to the far end Jack took a long deep breath before letting it out slowly, with both of his team members taking up positions just behind the lines that marked out the area he was only allowed to be in. on the other side a gangly limbed looking teen a shy short of five feet, strode onto the arena. She looked extremely thin that he could see her ribs. She was dressed in a black mini skirt accompanied with a torn crop top with bright neon purple and green splatter mark designs all over them. Her boots looked like something jack would have expected to see in a mosh pit; though her knee high socks clashed with everything she had been wearing, with one bright blue having slipped half way down the insanely skinny leg. The other was a pale pink but had managed to stay up on its own, she wore a choker around her neck though from how she looked as though; it was the only thing that was keeping her head from falling off of her neck. Her hair was raven blue bob that framed her somewhat shrunken facial features, her day-glow purple painted lips turned into a grin as she looked at him. The gym members eyes one green the other blue locked onto his, her single spiked fingerless glove lazily held on to a pouch that looked like it held two spherical objects with in.
“So ya be liking wot ya see, huh?”
The teen chuckled, opening her small mouth she stuck her tongue out and down as far as it would reach to show off the series of tongue studs running along her oral muscle.
“If ya can beat me, I’ll even suck ya dick!”
Jack ignored her the best he could she was trying to play mind games with him.
“I’m quite legal ya know, eighteen last year so how about it, ya wanna ride dis hot bod?”
The gym member chuckled lifting the side of her skirt up just enough along one side to reveal she had no underwear on, Jack retained his composer the best he could as she continued to talk.
“Got me no bra either, not dat I be needing one”
She grinned wide enough to show how she had her teeth sharpened, her free hand opened her pouch and drew out one of her pokéballs in readiness to begin the battle.
“Lucario…Cario…Luca…Lu…Car…Rio…Lucario…Lucario…Rio…Luc…Cario…Lucario!”
[When we defeat you, and we shall, I will not permit Master to mate with a female so unworthy!]
Lucy barked flinging her arm to the side as if to emphasises her words, the thick black lips of her muzzle had curled back as she snarled at the human female.
“Blaziken…Ken…Bla…Zi…Ken…Blaziken…Blazi…Blaziken!”
[Jack, I forbid you from mounting this excuse for a female!]
Blaze clucked menacingly, her flames bursting into life.
“Blaze…..Lucy”
Jack spoke with a firm commanding voice, both of his pokémon froze on the spot from the tone of his voice, he waited for a few moments before speaking again.
“She’s playing you, now Lucy take a deep breath, calm yourself and step forwards, we’ll start with you first.”
Lucy gave a slight whimper at first, then took a long slow breath, just as she had been bidden, she felt more at ease now. Her tail had even started wagging slightly as she felt his palm gently lay between her ears.
“Lucario…Lu…Ca..Rio…Lucario”
[You are correct master, thank you]
The coyote pokémon sighed, steeling herself she strode forwards ready to do fight while Blaze meantime was tensing and un tensing her talonlike fists, she was angry, fit to burst even. Though not at her trainer or the opposition but at herself, for foolishly falling for such an obvious ploy like some inexperienced fighter.
“Well, we’re ready when you are…little miss”
Jack called over to his opponent, her smile fell away from her face as she glared at him.
“Ya gonna be eating dem words!”
She snapped at him, her playful tone now gone, reaching back her hand she tossed her first pokéball, burst of blue light erupted as the amorphous purple sludge like entity took form. Jacks initial thought that it was a muk or grimmer but he was soon to push that aside; it was far too big. The answer to his mental query would only be answered when its form had finished taking its shape, he flinched as he realised much to unease what they would be facing off against, it was a swalot.
“Me babies toxic drool, it be amazing, just slip in ta his mouth an…tada! all dat excess fat be gone, baby even be making me cum in the process!”
Jack face palmed, he wondered if she was ignorant or just stupid.
“Sooo, let me get this straight?... you let it digest the parts of you don’t want?”
He asked unable to keep silent at this point, his opponent just grinned as she responded to his question.
“Baby get fed, ah be staying sexy thin and baby be making me cum good”
Jack eyes hardened at this, his mind recalling the images of the salazzle and still living remains of its trainer. A firm grip on his shoulder brought his mind back to the present, it was Blaze.
“Blaziken…Bla…Zi…Ken…Blaziken…Ken…Ziken…Blaze”
[Don’t let her get to you, she’s trying to get into your mind]
The fire bird squawked, her eyes where fierce and wild as ever but her tone was reassuring. Giving her talon like hand a thankful squeeze, in turn she gave a nod as she stepped backwards out of the arena bound to await her turn in the upcoming battle.
“Okay Lucy, time to shine like I know you can”
Jack spoke with a clear, firm tone to which the lucario looked back and gave a sharp nod in response. Turning his gaze towards his opponents’ side of the field he took several breaths letting each out slowly to help calm his mind for the battle ahead.
Jack watched the gym member carefully; he did his best to ignore the provocative attempts, though the more he refused to take the bait more encouraged she seemed to be. With her arms behind her back, she lent forwards letting the half torn neck line to hang down as if trying to display her breasts. Though being so thin there had not been much to expose, he did get to see more outlines of her ribs though, this made him feel very uncomfortable and just desire to force her to eat hearty meal.
“Such a bad boy, ya be lookin’ at me tits aintcha? Tell ya wot, beat me an ah’ll also gives ya a boob job, canna be no fairer than dat.”
She giggled with a crass sense of glee, standing upright once more the eighteen year old placed her small hands on what could hardly be classed as hips, a cocky smile still playing across her lips.
“Steady Lucy, be ready to doge if needs be”
He mused reassuringly to the lucario before him, the swalot was a poison type so caution would be needed in dealing with it. Some attacks would be detrimental if it had the hidden ooze ability, it would pretty much turn any health stealing moves against the Lucy, which meant drain punch was out of the question. Anything that would take time to charge up or leave her immobile for a few moments after use would lead to getting poisoned by any number of counter strikes. Confidently the Lucario took up a defensive stance, she could smell just as much as she could sense her humans caution, in truth she had never faced an opponent like this, it looked so strange to her like an animated pile of sludge. Part of her wanted to turn her nose up at the disgusting thing, but her trainers’ attitude towards it held her in check.
“How gentlemanly of ya, baby give ‘em da taste of ya mud shot!”
The gym member bellowed, almost straight away the swalot began compacting its upper half only to what could only be considered projectile vomiting, a sizeable globule of foul smelling greenish brown mud that it had managed draw up from whatever passed as its disgusting stomach. The putrid sludge came speeding at Lucy ass he pivoted aside to avoid it; a hissing sound could be heard behind her as it landed against the ground just behind her. The smell made her want to vomit just as much as it made her feel a little woozy, shaking her head clear she forced her attention back towards her opponent with a much more healthier dose of respect for the danger it possessed.
“EVADE!”
Jack called out, even with what remained of her spikes she could still pick up on the tell-tale changes in his aura. She twisted aside as she rolled on to the floor coming up in a crouch and kicking off against the ground with her paws, even as her trainer called out the next command, she had already started moving towards the swalot as a blurring pace of speed.
“EXTREAME SPEED”
He announced, though by the time the last few letters of the command had left his lips the jackal pokémon was already across to the other side to deliver a flurry of blows, her opponent jerked with each and every impact. The swalot began discharging more of its vile slurry, forcing Lucy to leap back out of the way. Landing easily just a quarter of the way back to Jack. The Lucario allowed herself a broad smile, the amorphous blob wasn’t that tough, true its mud based attack could hurt her but it wasn’t anything she couldn’t avoid. So why was her trainer so ill at ease with such a weak opponent she had the clear advantage over it.
“TOXIC SPIKES!”
The human female bellowed; Lucy blinked a few times as she tried to comprehend what had just happened even as her own human called out to her though his words took longer for her mind to comprehend them.
“EXTREME SPEED, LUCY….LUCY!”
She gave a sudden jolt as she realised all to late the jagged spikes of crystallised toxins came shooting above her to land around Jack, for a moment a chill ran down the lucario’s body, she had felt his desire for her to disrupt the poisonous blobs attack but this time she had failed to acted upon it, besides none of the projectiles even touched him let alone having virtually no effect on her either, so why did he seems so concerned.
“Bla…Zi…ken”
[Tag me in Jack]
Blaze announced firmly, Jack resisted the urge to look back towards the fighting chicken of fire. He knew she was right, Lucy still had ways to go before she was ready to battle yet.
“You sure Blaze, you know what’ll happen?”
He noted, but he didn’t need to see the blaziken nodding her head or hear her conformation to know she fully understood the repercussions of swapping Lucy out now.
“LUCA!…Rio… Car..Rio…Lucario!”
[NO! Master, I can win, keep me in!]
Lucy barked, she didn’t want to stop now, not while she was winning. Couldn’t her human understand she was the perfect one for this match up.
“Lucy, please”
Jack asked softly only to be ignored, grabbing her pokéball it extended to its full size causing the jackal pokémon to flinch. Looking down dejectedly she started stepping backwards until she reached the border line at which point Blaze began to step over as she stepped out.
“I’m Sorry Lucy”
Jack whispered softly as Blaze spoke to her too though in a less than tender tone.
“Blazi…Ken..Blaziken…Bla…Zi…Ken”
[Watch what your actions have wrought]
The moment the blaziken’s first talon like foot stood onto the ground of the arena than she trod upon one the jagged spikes, there was no way for her to avoid them while focusing upon the battle, so she did not even try to. Lucy’s eyes widened as the realisation at last set in, her paw like hands raising to her muzzle in horror at her own hubris. She hadn’t even considered how it might have affected her team mate, worst yet she had defied Jack who had already seen it even tried to avoid it happening but she had failed to act when instructed.
“Lu..Cario!”
[I’m..I’m Sorry!]
She called out, but Blaze ignored her as she felt the sudden creeping of pain starting to creep up along lower sections of her powerful legs.
“If you can learn from this, then it’ll be okay”
Jack noted putting the lucario’s pokéball away, exhaling slowly he brought his mind back into the match as the young woman on the other side just smiled smugly, saying.
“See, ah’m not dat bad, let ya deal with wot ever dat was”
Raising an eyebrow he wondered just what she meant by that, true she could have had her swalot attack the moment Blaze had stepped over the threshold, marking her as the new opponent. No that wasn’t it, her poison type pokémon had taken damage not to mentioned expended a fair amount of its own strength with its own attacks and with both of them not being allowed to utilise anything to help recover their pokémon, giving her swalot a chance to catch its breath was the next best thing.
“Thank you, allow us to show you out gratitude by not going easy on you”
Came his response with a slight side ow of his head, Blaze clucked as she cracked her knuckled in readiness to show her own appreciation too. Jack knew a beak could not smile yet he was sure he could see a wicked grin from on the blaziken’s features.
