The landscape was always swaying, grassy plains and fields of sunflowers tended to by the zephyrs as it drank the abundant sunlight. Pollen caused the sunrise to glow scarlet and pink out on the horizon as Auroch took in a deep breath of morning air. He trod down the side of the valley, the carpet of grass broke in places where the purple-gray rock walls rose up.

A river took up most of the valley's bottom, rushing from distant glittering mountains past Auroch's hooves to snake off into the ocean. The river rapids gnashed with ethereal cold teeth at the boulders just beneath the surface, gradually wearing them down over a timespan only nature could appreciate. As he took in the scenery, the Taurian's double was reflected in a gravelly pool. The creature was a gigantic, muscular rendition of a bovine with shaggy brown fur and a set of long horns one could hang rugs on.

Running his fingers through his beard, Auroch looked about for a spot to set up fishing when a shadow passed over him. It was just one of the local pterosaurs winging itself around in a wide loop until it descended up the river a few field lengths away to roost on something. That was when he noticed something flapping in the breeze- a tattered piece of cloth. Attached to a tilted pole, which it took a few moments to realize was actually the mast of a small ship. That was strange. Certainly none of his tribe ever sailed these treacherous rock strewn rivers. His hooves crunched over wet gravel as he made his way toward the site.

Only half of the long, narrow boat clung to the boulder it was pinned against. The wooden face of some draconic creature formed the front of the rails, much less fearsome now that the vessel was in splintered ruins. Anything or anyone that might have been inside was long ago washed out into the rushing waters. Not exactly. There was something crouched on the bank of the river, sitting sprawled back where she had crawled up away from the river. Despite himself, Auroch stumbled to a halt when he spotted it and at the same time it turned its body around to look up at him.

It was vaguely shaped like a Taurian, albeit much smaller and skinnier. It stood up, giving him a better picture of the thing. Bare, pale skin except for the furred clothing it wore as well as red and damp locks tumbling down its flat-faced head. Its chest and hips swelled slightly- had to be female.

Auroch raised a hand in greeting while setting his fishing pole aside so as to not be taken for a weapon. In response the creature barked at him, if it wasn't some sort of language. She limped back a step. Not injured as far as he could see but rather it was the sharp gravel that she was having trouble navigating on. Only one of her hoofless feet had a sandal on while the other was bare and at the mercy of the sharp ground. She had to be some sort of prey animal he figured, though without the rest of the boat's crew for comparison he could not be certain.

He gave a whistle and patted his knee, "Come,"

Snapping his fingers didn't do the trick either. The female was continuing to back up against the river but wasn't paying much attention to the water. When her sandaled foot caught a rock the wrong way, she shouted as she fell backwards. One of the lanky limbs was only inches away as Auroch tried to grab her, leaping forward. She was being carried away swiftly.

With fishing pole in hand, Auroch leapt between the boulders zigzagging above the creature as the waters carried her. His hoof cracked one of the rocks as he rebounded off of it, landing between a set of boulders. Jamming the fishing pole in between the rocks, he held on with one hand against the current as the flailing creature tumbled toward him.

Bracing himself, Auroch made his way slowly but steadily toward the bank with the creature wrapped in his other arm. The both of them escaped the rush of water and were left alone dripping and breathing heavily. A sharp pain shot from his bicep as she bit him.

"Yeeeow!" He shouted, jostling her about until she released him. He immediately sat her on the ground and then grabbed her by the arms, encircling both of her wrists with a hand as he held her. Her teeth hadn't been able to pierce his thick hide at least- definitely a prey animal, just frightened.

"Shh. It's okay. I won't harm you," He said as soothingly as he could, running his free hand over her head.

After wrenching herself around a few moments, the creature's shoulders slumped and she stood still.

"There you go," Auroch said, "Good girl,"

She shot him some kind of look when he patted her on the head, but he couldn't tell what she may have been thinking. He started leading her up the slope back to the village.

--

There were quite a few stares and comments as Auroch led the creature up through the grassy lanes of the village. Sigrid glared at them the entire way with what she imagined as glowing emeralds of fury shining out at them between her hanging locks.

"That's a funny looking rabbit you got there!"

"Aww, cute,"

Kissy noises? Seriously? The woman hung her head in frustration.

Soon she was being led down a path between corn fields toward a big barn standing beside a farmstead. It wasn't different from any other she had seen, except she was currently playing the part of livestock. The big Taurian secured her to a post by a length of rope tied around her wrists. She snarled at him when he stepped back. Her attention was drawn to something behind him as the doors to the barn parted with a light creak.

"Ah! Good day, Elder. What do I owe the honor?"

Brunha stood a head and shoulders above even Auroch. Her frame was big and pudgy, covered in the white and black pattern of many dairy cows. Though the breasts on her looked big enough to put an entire herd of dairy cows to shame. The human stood about as tall as mid-thigh to this Taurian.

"I was out for a stroll when I caught wind of all the hubub, so I had to poke my nose in and see what all the excitement was about,"

He gestured toward the back of the barn.

"I found her down by the river. Never seen anything like her before,"

Brunha gripped the long, braided black mane that fell over her shoulder. She absently stroked it as she examined the creature. Only a moment later her expression warmed.

"Looks like you found yourself a little human doe,"

The elder approached the woman cautiously and crouched down, still imposingly large next to her. The human seemed unsure what to make of this Taurian, but at least it was some improvement in her mood.

"Uh, careful elder. She bites," Auroch cautioned when Brunha started to reach out.

"The red haired ones can be a bit feisty. But I'm sure she's a good girl,"

I can't believe these cows are treating me like this! I'm a warrior of the frozen north! I- ooohh. That feels kind of good..

Brunha was running a finger along the woman's neck and up under her chin, tilting her head up. She then took hold of the front of the fur tunic and tugged the garment down to expose a set of small but perky bosoms. A blush came to the human's fair skin but she still didn't move as Brunha gently probed one of her breasts pressing each of them ever so slightly, before taking one between two fingers and giving it a faint pinch.

"She's still fairly young," Brunha reported, "Not producing anything yet, but with the proper diet she could make some tasty milk,"

The big cow smiled at the human as she ran a finger down the side of her face, pinching a lock of wet hair.

"But for the present, we should get her out of these sopping clothes or she'll get sick,"

--

A barrel was hauled into the center of the barn, sloshing with water. Auroch added a few chalky tablets and stirred the concoction with a stick, churning it into a frothy pleasantly smelling stew. Meanwhile, Brunha was crouched in the corner of the barn as she peeled off the human doe's soggy clothing.

"Alright dear. Let's get you nice and clean,"

The human doe's furless, skinny frame was shivering slightly atop her long legs. She covered her breasts with her hands and stood piegon-toed, but couldn't quite hide the fluffy red fuzz between her legs. Her face looked up expectantly at the big cow. Such a graceful being, just not cut out for the cold. Brunha scooped the doe up, hugging the poor thing to her warm chest for a moment. The elder's motherly energy had time to exert its full effect, putting the human at ease. Rubbing her back sympathetically, Brunha carried her over to the waiting bath. Before lowering her to the water, she placed a kiss on top of the red headed noggin.

Once her bare skin met the soothingly warm water, the human seemed to relax. Any traces of anger were gone as she fell slack and allowed Brunha to methodically move the sponge over her body covering it in frothy suds. The cow's hands were able to easily encircle the wrists of the human as she lifted each of her arms up to scrub down the hourglass curve of her body.

Brunha spread one hand over the doe's chest and leaned her forward, lifting her partially out of the water so she could scrub soapy circles down her back. The water lapped at her bare butt, a trail of suds streaming down between the bubble shaped cheeks. Her head hung forward allowing her hair to mask a face of pure bliss.

When the bathing was complete, Auroch stood by with towels aplenty- hanging from each of his arms and horns. Brunha dried the doe off and bundled her up nice and warm. The human's head was bobbing as sleep tried to take over. Brunha picked her up and again held her to her chest.

"She really seems to trust you," Auroch said, "Would you like to keep her? It seems you can train her better than I,"

The grin on the elder's face answered that question. Auroch brought out a leather collar and affixed it to the doe's slender neck, checking that it fit properly.

"I thank you for the gift, dear," Brunha said, "She'll come in handy around the house,"

The broom moved over the wooden panels, banishing the dust and sunflower leaves from the front porch of the cottage. Another day's chores completed. The human looked over her work as the breeze ruffled her clothing. Armor and axe had been traded for a dress and broom.

Hooves crunched on the dirt as she turned around to find the big cow walking up the dirt path. Excitement fluttered in her chest as her owner returned, the same variety that dogs had known since being domesticated. She rushed down the garden path and opened the gate for Brunha as she lumbered past with a load of groceries from the market. The cow paused to pet her doe on the head before leading the way inside the cottage.

Another day was done and soon to follow would be another dinner and night curled up with her owner on the couch with a blazing fireplace to keep warm. The domestic life and a set routine wasn't nearly as bad as she had always imagined. In fact, it was downright enjoyable.
