The Loneliest Place In The Galaxy Part 10: Revenge of the Bipeds
The tenth part of the LPITG series, where Sam and the other humanoids take over the alien flagship. There isn't as much smut in this one, as I tried to do a bit more plot stuff.
This is part ten of an ongoing story, and I recommend reading the other parts first _(unless you're just here for plotless pornography)__. If you want to skip straight to the smut, search for the word "rump". As always, please feel free to leave any comments or questions down below. _
Of all the places I could be, this was the one I least expected. Five weeks ago I was the only person on Quantine-63, manning a pathetic outpost in the loneliest star system in the galaxy. I had no prospects, no real friends, nothing but a TV to keep me from going insane. No one relied on me, no one looked up to me, and if I screwed up it would likely never matter to anyone but my replacement.
Now, I was on an alien shuttle headed for an alien ship with an alien rifle that shot foot-long spikes resting in my lap. I, along with the four other humanoids on board, was part of a mission to take down an alien flagship, hopefully freeing everyone who was trapped in stasis on board as well. Our group was to disable the communication systems inside the ship, hopefully preventing any alarms or guard coordination. If we failed, the people who’d snuck in via the stasis pods would get swarmed before they could release and arm everyone who’d been captured, and odds are we’d all wind up in whatever hellish experiment the aliens would use as punishment.
No pressure at all.
I felt my hand being lightly squeezed by a soft paw, and I looked to my right to see Lucy was trying to comfort me. Her ice blue eyes met mine, filled with empathetic determination. I squeezed her paw in turn before pulling away, and found that part of the doubt that had clouded my mind was gone. We could do this, we would pull it off, odds be damned. With Lucy by my side, nothing could go wrong.
I slowly scanned the two others sitting in the cabin with us. The first was a human, a sly looking man with raven black hair and a vertical scar on his lip. From his clothing he looked to be some sort of shady mercenary, or an “independent security contractor” as he liked to call it. He didn’t talk much, but he had introduced himself previously as Harkin. The second humanoid was an anthropomorphic rhino by the name of Luther, who at about 7 feet tall was the only one who looked the proper size for the alien architecture. He wore an equally large construction getup, studded with pockets and protective plates. I knew both were pretty good with their rifles, and I’d seen Luther rip a dead bug’s head clean off without breaking a sweat. In terms of teammates, I’d gotten fairly lucky.
Suddenly the door to the shuttle’s cockpit opened, revealing the leader of our ragtag squad. I had heard someone mention his name was Barnes, and also that he was a rather seasoned veteran in the art of war. His infantry uniform was already a tad stained with green alien blood, and from the way he was cockily grinning he was eager to stain it some more. His mahogany skin blended seamlessly with his dreadlocks, broken only by the green headband across his forehead.
“Alright, people, get in gear, we’re docking in two minutes! Keep calm, remember your training, and kill anything that moves!” Everyone began checking their gear, making sure they had clips loaded and sights up. I quickly ran through the mental checklist that Barnes had drilled us on. Clip was in, strap was loose, safety was off. Each of us pointed our rifles up once we were finished, and as soon as everyone looked about ready Barnes brought in the prisoner.
The prisoner in question was one of the aliens, standing about seven feet tall and looking like a cross between a praying mantis and a spider. Its two clawed forelimbs fiddled with a holographic map, and as Barnes nudged it into the cabin I could see it was charting a route of some kind. He motioned for it to stop once they’d reached the airlock, and the rest of us got up and formed up in a square behind them. Harkin and Luther stood on either side of Barnes, while Lucy and I took up the rear. We all got our guns trained on the door, and as the airlock slid open we began marching out in formation.
The five of us entered into a small airlock, a cramped space that barely had room for all of us and the bug. I quickly swept the barrel of my rifle across my designated corner, with the cool steeliness of training taking over. Once the room was clear we turned again toward the outer airlock door, our weapons pointed at whatever was lurking behind it. The bug went through first, tentatively creeping through the aperture with Barnes’s rifle trained on its back. As the rest of us fanned out into the hall and took up covering positions, it crept towards a control panel inlaid on the wall, pressing a button and bringing up a large 3D holographic menu. It fiddled around with the hologram a bit, moving various elements around, then turned around and stuck out one clawed forelimb. The translation device it wore on its head crackled to life, and we all heard its digitized human voice spoke in a low whisper.
“Let me download the floor plan and path to your map. Then I will disable the communications array.” Barnes hardly looked convinced, but after a few seconds he motioned Harkin forward. With the rifle still trained on him, the bug began fiddling with Harkin’s wrist map, finally stopping as a yellow path outlined itself on the hologram. From the earlier briefing I knew it led to the bridge of the ship, where we could hopefully shut down whatever was commanding the aliens. Once it was done, the bug turned back to the console and began quickly swiping, poking, and twisting various parts of the hologram until a section flashed vibrant red. The blue dots on Harkin’s wrist map went out as well, leaving only the white structure and the yellow path. “Communications are down. There will be no coordination of guard patrols and no alarms.”
The bug pulled up its own map before scuttling off down the hall toward what looked to be a maintenance shaft. It popped off the cover with ease, set it aside, then hopped down the shaft into the dimly lit passage. Once inside it motioned for us to follow, and Barnes was the first one to do so. Harkin climbed down next, followed by Luther who landed with a pronounced thud. Lucy lowered me down, then jumped down into my arms. Once we were back in formation we all began creeping along the tunnel, following the light of the bug’s hologram.
The maintenance tunnel was only about five feet tall, so Luther and the bug had to crouch down to get anywhere. The rest of us got by with hunching over slightly, and Lucy hardly had to bend down at all. A few times we heard clattering across the floor above us, sometimes sounding like one bug, and other times sounding like a stampede. I also heard a few whispers in the back of my mind which carried thoughts and images, but none of them seemed more than passing conversation. I only clearly heard one snippet, right as we passed beneath what seemed to be a hub of cables and pipes.
So what’s wrong with it? The first voice sounded stern, probably one of the soldiers.
Ah crap, the node’s ejected again. Gonna take at least three hours to fix. The second sounded a bit more bookish, like some sort of alien IT guy.
Three hours? Really?
If we’re lucky. Last time this happened the things got fried while in space, took a full week to get replacements. Three hours is the best case scenario, assuming everything goes perfectly… The voices trailed off as we proceeded down the tunnel, and part of my mind tried to puzzle out what they were talking about.
Eventually the bug stopped, reaching up toward a panel in the ceiling. When Barnes trained his rifle on it, it stopped and began chattering with its translator. “This should be the maintenance area behind the bridge, right in back of the throne room. No one goes back here, so there should not be any need for slaughter.” Once Barnes’s rifle was no longer pointed at its head, the bug went back to pushing the hatch upward. Eventually it succeeded, and crawled upward out of the open hole. Barnes was right behind it, getting a boost from Harkin before helping him up. Luther was strong enough to haul himself up, which left Lucy and I on our own. All of a sudden I heard gasping from the room above, as well as a few expletives from Barnes. Intrigued, I worked quickly to boost Lucy up to the top, taking her foot in my hands and lifting her upward. She turned around to help me, and once we were both out of the hatch we looked to see what the others were so shocked by.
The first thing I saw was the apparatus in the center of the room. It was the size and circumference of a tree trunk, which hung five feet above the ground with what looked like a large bowl resting below it. The bowl was translucent, half filled with some milky white substance that was dripping from a nozzle on the bottom of the device. My gaze slowly went upward, over the various pipes and valves studding it, until at last my eyes rested on the array of tubes radiating out from near the top. I followed one of them off to the right, and I finally spied what had shocked everyone else so badly.
There were six men tied to the wall, each restrained with the same kind of webbing that the bugs had used on me. They were all stuck in a spread eagle pose, seeming to be in some kind of trance, wearing nothing but their bindings. I looked down to where the tubes were going, noticing with horror that each tube was attached to a man’s crotch. I looked over to the other side of the room to see several male anthros in a similar position, each tied down with a tube on their member. All of a sudden one of them seized up, his hips unconsciously thrusting forward as waves of pleasure washed over him. A viscous white substance began flowing up the tube, and once it got to the thing in the center of the room I realized what was going on: they were being milked like cattle, stuck in a dazed state and jerked off until they came, again and again until...what? The bowl was full?
Harkin walked up to one of them, shaking his head in disgust. “We need to cut them down. No one deserves something like this.”
Luther, Lucy and I began moving to help him, but Barnes stopped them in their tracks. “No, we don’t. They’re not going to die anytime soon, and we need to get the bridge secured before the stasis pod people wake up.” Lucy looked about ready to object, but before she could do so Barnes had turned to the bug. “You said the next room was a throne room, whose throne is it?”
“The throne belongs to the queen of this fleet. She looks over the rest of the bridge.” The bug looked around the room we were in, taking in the whole scene. “I had heard… rumors… of her deviant tastes, but I had never seen proof until now.”
“And how many guards would you expect?”
“A large sum, maybe ten in the room.”
A cruel smile spread across Barnes’s face. “Ten guards, huh? Alright boys and girls, let’s go commit some regicide!” The rest of the group, including myself, was uncomfortable to say the least, but his plan made sense and we were going to have to clear out the room anyway. All of us took up positions on either side of the door to the throne room, and once the door went up we rushed through and started shooting.
It was almost like a haze descended right as we entered, a mixture of adrenaline and training that seemed to make everything sharper. As I rushed through the door and whirled to the right, I saw a guard raising his rifle toward us in confusion. It died before it hit the wall, the spike flying forward and pinning it like part of a beetle collection. A door beside it slid open to reveal a second bug, who barely realized what was going on before I impaled it through the abdomen. Three more bugs stood behind it, each knocked back by the corpse of their companion. I rushed forward, firing a shot into each of them before turning my attention to the rest of the room. I swirled toward the sound of a rifle hitting the floor, and saw Lucy was in danger. She was being grappled by one of the bugs, just barely keeping its mandibles away from her neck with inhuman strength. A second bug was a few feet behind her, preparing to shoot her in the back. I quickly lined up my sights and put a bolt through the further one’s head, then skewered the one on Lucy and knocking it aside. She looked confused for a moment, then noticed me and gave a quick wave of thanks. I scanned the room for any other apparent threats, but not a bug was alive save for our prisoner who was cowering in the corner.
With the danger gone and the haze of combat beginning to fade, I finally looked around at the carnage we had wreaked. Green blood drenched the ground, so much so that the metallic scent of it hung in the air. The corpses of bugs littered the room, some suspended in the air by a spike through the chest, others simply lying on the ground and studded with bolts. I saw Lucy was having her own reservations, and together we looked back to see what must have been the queen.
It might have been regal once, towering over those who stood before it, clad in royal blue vestments trimmed with white. But any regal air it once had was gone, stripped away by the spikes driven through its body and the blood pouring out of the holes. It sat slumped back on its throne, its bulging abdomen still hooked up to pipes and machinery behind it. Part of me began wondering what it had been like in life, whether it was truly a tyrant or merely an ignorant fop. Did it deserve a spike through the heart? Were the actions of its minions fueled by malevolence, or by mere curiosity? My mind drifted back to the men being used like cattle just in the other room as justification for the slaughter, but a small part of me questioned how much harm the bugs had actually caused.
I was shaken out of my contemplation by Lucy just as the last sounds of battle died away. Some part of me thought the silence was more than just physical, that some noise was missing from inside my head as well. I realized that during the battle whispers of panic, fear, and agony had been flashing through the back of my mind, all of which were silent now. We both turned to see even more carnage on the bridge, which extended away from the throne like a pier and was flanked by pits with flight computers. Several pilots had been executed at their stations, and a few others had been gunned down trying to run. A few spikes had stuck into the control panels, and some small part of me wondered if that would hinder our ability to pilot the ship.
The three others were walking back toward us with various degrees of emotion. Barnes looked like he’d just won a marathon, with a triumphant grin on his face and green blood splattering his uniform. Harkin was far more stoic, with a stony expression and his rifle held in a tight grip. Luther seemed to be trying to mimic Barnes’s enthusiasm, but I sensed he was far less comfortable than he let on.
Barnes strolled past me, patting me on the shoulder as he did so. “C’mon, love birds, we’ve still got bugs to kill.” Once he passed me he headed straight for our prisoner, who was standing almost at attention in one corner. Barnes motioned the bug toward the bridge, and once it was on its way he followed with his rifle at the ready. “So, can you set a course for an alliance base?”
“Yes, I can.” The bug hopped down into one of the pilot pits, gently wiping some of the blood off of the control panel before getting to work. Holograms of star maps and diagnostic readouts flashed as the bug tapped away at the console, and from what little I knew about the bug’s language he seemed to be doing as he was told. After a few minutes he stepped back from the console, and all of us could feel the low rumble as the ships engines came to life.
Barnes looked fairly impressed, and gave the rest of us a sideways glance before motioning for the bug to get out of the pit. However, before the bug could do so Barnes changed his mind and held out his hand to stop it. “Actually, while you’re down there, is there any way you could show us what’s going down by the armory?”
The bug looked hesitantly at the console, then back up at him. “I am sorry, I can not do that. All internal sensors are disabled along with the communications systems.” The bug thought for a moment, before adding, “The stasis pods would have opened five minutes ago.”
Barnes nodded, and again motioned for the bug to get out of the pit. Once it had done so, he lowered his gun and spread his arms. “Well, I guess that’s it, you’re free to go!” The bug tilted its head slightly before hesitantly backing up. “Yeah, go on, I won’t kill you.” A malevolent smile spread across his face, but I guessed the bug didn’t realize what was going on. It turned and began to scuttle towards a door, its pace quickening as it got further away. Suddenly, Barnes raised his rifle and fired one bolt, barely missing the bug’s head. It broke into a full on sprint, fleeing as Barnes laughed his ass off. He turned to us while still cackling like a hyena, but toned it down once he saw no one else was amused. “Oh, come on, it’s just a dumb bug. It’s not like I shot at a crippled orphan.” He began striding toward the door to the back room, still chuckling a bit to himself. “Let’s get moving, we’ve got some livestock to free.”
We moved back into the maintenance area where the twelve men were still tied up. The five of us worked quickly to get them down, and after ten minutes of cutting and lowering we had them all sitting on the ground. The first ones to be freed were just starting to come to, with whatever euphoric haze they had been held in lifting from their minds. Lucy and I crouched down over the first human, taking him by the arms and helping him to his feet.
“Unngh, what the hell…” He looked down at himself, then at me, then at Lucy, finally giving one defeated sigh.
Once it was clear he could stand on his own, Lucy went over to help tend to the second human. I put my hand on the first man’s shoulder, giving it a firm shake to try and bring him back to reality. “It’s okay, you’re safe. Just take a minute to get your bearings.” The man looked around the room, taking in the bipedal animals running around and the giant dead bugs that could be seen through the door. After giving a second sigh, he sat back down on the ground, and I crouched down to his level. “Hey, can you tell me your name?”
“I’m Mack. Pleased to fuckin’ meet ya.” He halfheartedly stuck out one hand toward me, which I took and shook out of courtesy. Suddenly, he slapped himself incredibly hard, blinking and rubbing his jaw as the pain jolted him back to reality. He looked around again before staring down at his own naked body. “Well, shit, I’m not dreaming.” He rose to his feet, then began wandering around the room in a slow, drunken fashion. “So, what exactly did I miss?”
I followed behind him slightly, cradling my rifle in one arm. A small part of me realized the pure ridiculousness of the situation, almost causing me to chuckle out loud. “Well, we all got kidnapped from Orion Station by a bunch of insect-aliens, who were running experiments on some of us and keeping the rest in stasis. Some of us managed to break free, and now we’re trying to take over their flagship.”
“Uh huh.” Mack looked around before giving me a suspicious glance. “Taking a flagship with seventeen people...pretty fuckin’ ballsy if you ask me.”
“It’s not just us. We’ve got another group already in the stasis chambers, and once they free everyone else and get them to the armory, we’ll have a whole army on our side.”
“Oh. Neat.” Mack stopped pacing, turning to face me. “Hey, any idea where I can get one of those gun thingies?” He pointed at my rifle, and I could see the cogs turning in his mind.
I wasn’t totally certain he was fit to use a weapon, but I figured one more gun on our side couldn’t hurt. “Yeah, there’s a bunch of dead guards over in that room.” I pointed to the door leading to the throne room. “I don’t think they’ll be needing their weapons anymore.”
“Cool, thanks.” He wandered off toward the door, and as my gaze followed him I noticed that Lucy was talking with Barnes. The room was quiet enough that I could hear what they were saying from where I was standing, and I listened in on what the two of them were discussing.
“Barnes, I was thinking...could, er, should Sam and I stay here? I just don’t want anything coming in here and altering the ship’s course.” Lucy sounded a bit nervous, like she was somehow treading on dangerous ground.
He raised one eyebrow, looked over at me, then nodded once as a knowing smile spread across his face. “Yeah, sure. Go ahead and ‘guard the bridge’, the rest of us will make do.” He chuckled a bit before wandering off to help someone else. After he was gone, Lucy looked over at me and gave a small smile. She hardly exuded confidence, seeming like she wanted to say something but didn’t have anyone to share it with.
After several minutes, all of the former prisoners were armed, and they headed off with Barnes, Harkin, and Luther to go search and destroy. It was just Lucy and I, and once the last sounds of their footsteps had faded she walked over to where I was standing. Her arms were hugged tight to her chest like she was cold, and her ears were back like she was ashamed. “Sam, could we talk?”
“Sure.” I sat down against the wall, and motioned for her to do the same. To my surprise she lay down on her side, placing her head on my lap. I tried to comfort her by stroking behind her ears, and her tail gave a few twitches in response.
She let out a long sigh before continuing. “I just… I just feel like I did something wrong. I mean they did do a bunch of stuff to us, but…”
I finished her thought for her. “But you can’t help but feel guilty.” She nodded slightly, seemingly comforted that I had the same feelings.
“The way they ran, and they almost seemed… panicked. Like us.” She rolled over onto her back, looking straight up at me. “Is it wrong that I sort of regret it?”
I let out a long sigh. “To be honest, I don’t know. Morality isn’t really an exact science, not everything can be branded absolutely good or evil. I say just go with your gut, if it’s got you this worked up…”
“Yeah…” She rolled back onto her side, enjoying the ear scratching I was giving her. “At least I’ve got you.”
“And I’ve got you.” We sat there for a moment, basking in each other’s presence. There was something pure about these moments we had together, and right now it seemed like we were in the eye of the storm. There may have been conflict ahead, but for now we could enjoy a moment of respite. Lucy quietly slipped away into sleep, and I wasn’t far behind.
I found myself in what looked like a shooting range with a rifle in my hands. I didn’t know how I had gotten there, but I knew what I had to do. A wooden target popped up, and printed on it was an image of one of the aliens. Without really thinking I took aim and blew its head apart, watching the wood splinter as the bullet ripped through it. Suddenly the target wasn’t wood, but an actual bug, with green blood pumping out from where its head used to be. A second target popped up, this one also a bug. I heard a scream of terror as I took aim, which shifted to a wail of agony as a bullet tore into its abdomen. A third target popped up, then a fourth and fifth, each crying out as I put them down. Part of me wanted to stop, to apologize, to somehow make up for what I’d done, but my body wouldn’t obey. It just aimed and fired like a well oiled machine, taking life after life, mowing down scientists and engineers and doctors and janitors without a second thought. The merciless reaping continued for what seemed like an eternity, until finally a loud, droning alarm went off.
The sound dragged me back to the conscious world, and I quickly realized that it wasn’t part of the dream. Lucy sat bolt upright, her ears, swiveling to try and locate the source of the sound. We both got up, scanning for any potential danger, but we found nothing but an empty room. After a moment the alarm crackled into what sounded like static, then gradually twisted itself into a digitized voice. “Attention! Attention! This is an announcement that pertains to all bipeds on board. First, I wish to thank you for not killing me. You may have butchered the rest of my friends on board, but you left me unscathed. As a token of my gratitude, I have rigged the ship to be flooded with pheromones. Normally I would use the ones that would make you all kill each other in a bloody frenzy, but since I am feeling kind I have used the ones that cause uncontrollable mating urges. Do not worry, the pheromones will wear off in a week. Have fun!” The voice cut out, and Lucy’s ears perked up at some sound.
“I hear hissing…” Lucy was looking around for the source of the noise, while I backed up and tried to hold my breath.
“Just try not to breathe any of it in, we just have to… to…” I accidentally inhaled and found myself breathing in the sweet smell of Lucy’s loins. I tried to follow my own advice, but once I had gotten a taste I was helpless to stop myself from breathing in more. A familiar haze descended over my mind, and I looked over to see Lucy undergoing the same changes. Reason and logic were quickly crowded out by animalistic desire, and as the pheromones took hold I began tearing at my own clothes. My shirt came off easily enough, but in my muddled state I had a hard time puzzling out the intricacies of a zipper. I looked over to see Lucy quickly disposing of her own uniform, tearing it to pieces instead of bothering to unbutton anything. I finally got the zipper undone when Lucy rushed over to me, grabbing the waistband of my pants and yanking them down to my ankles. She hopped back, dropping to her hands and knees with her rump sticking up towards me.
I didn’t bother getting my pants the rest of the way off, instead opting to simply drop to my knees. There wasn’t a rational thought in my mind, just an unbroken mantra of fuck, mate, and breed. Some abstract corner of my mind became fascinated with the idea of getting her pregnant, of filling her womb with a litter of half-breed children. The rest of me was busy getting my hips lined up with her already dripping slit, and once I was ready I stuffed myself into her.
I let out a guttural grunt of pleasure as the moist heat of her vagina slid down my member, squeezing reflexively as she took me to the hilt. Her initial gasp slid into a sensual moan as I began jackhammering back and forth. Normally I would have gone slower, would have given her a chance to savour the sensations, but my mind was preoccupied with the singular urge to shoot my seed into her belly. I slammed into her again and again, my balls slapping against her with each brutal stroke. Her hips pushed back into my thrusts, doing their best to maintain their posture and not collapse under my assault. The rhythmic friction of my shaft against her insides made me wild with lust, driving me to go even faster. Her ecstatic groans pleaded with me to speed up, to thrust harder, to drive myself into her wonderful silky depths with even more gusto. A small part of me noticed her body falling forward onto the floor, leaving her paws free to pleasure herself even further. He moans turned into screams, and she began convulsing while I kept hammering her pussy.
She began contracting even more, her whole body pulsing and shuddering, the throes of her orgasm magnified tenfold with each thrust. The feeling of a hand on my cock intensified to a warm, wet vice, her body clenching down on my invading organ and driving me up the wall. I could feel my body preparing to burst, with my muscles tensing and thrusts beginning to slow. With one last heave I went as deep as I could, pressing her wet, furry crotch into my own. A burst of pleasure erupted from my balls, shooting hot white cum into her with the force of a fire hose. She almost drooled into the floor as my seed filled her womb, her contractions squeezing out the last few dregs left within me. That abstract part of my brain began to spin up again, filling my head with thoughts of our union. It was an unholy thing, a man laying with a beast, succumbing to carnal pleasure… and yet this perverse nature made it all the better. This bestial lust was amazing, bringing untold pleasures to the both of us. It was well worth any price we paid.
These musings came to a halt as I pulled out of her, leaving her to slide into a trance of ecstacy. My cock was drenched in our combined juices, dripping a bit onto the soft floor. I had half a mind to lay down beside her, to enjoy the afterglow like civilized folk, but before I could rest the thoughts of an animal took back over. I felt vigor rushing through my body, and I looked down to find myself already semi-hard again. I quickly kicked off my pants and shoes, tossing them aside as I began striding toward the door. There were more bitches to breed, more wombs to fill, more places for me to spread my genes. If the pheromones really lasted a week, then it would be a week of animalistic rutting.
