It was morning when Koren finally woke in her bed. She shifted and looked over to the left of her, so used to having Alex beside her it had become habit that he was the frist person she would look at when she woke. When she saw it wasn't just a bad dream she lowered her ears and took a deep breathe. She missed him badly. She sighed and climbed out of her bed, moving to get washed up and changed before she slowly made her way down to the dining hall. Koren was the frist to get there, followed shortly by her father and mother. Naomi twitched her tail and moved over to Koren, gently petting her head and looking to her. "Sleep well?" Koren shook her head, her ears lowered against her head as she pushed some of her hair out of her face.
Naomi lowered her ears and sighed softly before kissing the top of Koren's head then moving to sit down in her usual sat. Nicholas remained silent, sitting by his wife while he looked to his daughter, taking note of the tired and worn look that was over her. After a moment Samuel walked in followed by his son. Samuel looked at Nicholas before looking to Koren, looking a bit surprised she was even showing herself. Samuel sat down across from Koren, Soren sitting beside him and looking to Koren. The young cheetah stood his ears up and looked over her while Koren kept her eyes glued to the table, her hands resting in her lap while Samuel spoke softly. "Are the plans still on?" He looked to Nicholas who nodded a bit while Koren lowered her head some. The maids began laying out plates loaded with food in front of them. Nicholas and Samuel began eating while Soren was watching Koren in silence. Naomi lightly toyed with her food, looking to Koren who only pushed her plate away.
Nicholas watched her then growled his words. "Eat Koren.." The feline looked to her father then shook her head, remaining silent. Naomi grabbed onto Nicholas's arm to keep him from raising his voice to her Koren. "Leave her be...you have done enough." She looked to him with a frown before she went back to eating. Samuel huffed a bit, wondering just how defiant Koren was. Soren shifted and finally began eating just as a guard came into the dining hall, speaking out to Nicholas. " Sire...there is a visitor for Koren waiting in the throne room." Nicholas blinked and looked at Naomi while Koren lifted her head, looking a bit confused. Naomi sighed and stood up. "Finish eating...I will escort her." Nicholas growled faintly while Koren stood and left the dining hall with her mother.
A few minutes later Koren walked into the throne room and looked up to see who had summoned for her. Koren thought her heart was going to leap out of her chest when she saw Alex standing there with the guards watching his every move. "ALEX!!" He looked up when he heard her and braced himself as she ran to him, hugging him and still managing to make him stumble from the impact. Koren hugged him tightly as she buried her face against his chest for a moment, closing her eyes tightly before opening them seconds later and lifting her head to look at him. "Alex.." She purred and smiled when he return her hug, gently petting her head while kissing her forehead then whispering. "Hey kitten...relax." He smiled then looked up to see Naomi staring at him with wide eyes before she stepped forward, moving to stand behind Koren and tilting her head a bit. "Your Alex?" He nodded some while gently holding onto Koren's shoulders given she was reluctant to let go of him.
"Yes..I am Alex..and I came here...for Koren." He looked to her with a smile as she began purring heavily, gently holding both his hands into her own now while Naomi looked a bit stunned to see how happy her daughter was reacting. Naomi took a deep breathe and spoke softly. "That will not be easy and you know it." Alex nodded some and looked to her again. " I know...but-" He was cut off by Nicholas letting out a snarl as he walked into the throne room, making his way to the three of them while Koren moved between him and Alex. "What the hell are you doing here boy?! I told you before I left your castle that you will never see her again!" Alex stood his g round, grabbing Koren's shoulders and gently pushing her to stand with her mother while he replied. " And I am here to prove I want her...and I want peace...if I didn't care for her then I wouldn't have traveled all night to get here." Naomi growled and pushed her husband back a few steps while Samuel was standing back a few feet watching with his eyes narrowed while whispering to Soren. "Shit just got harder..." Soren nodded some as he growled lightly, his voice rough even with whispering. "No worries...that girl will be mine before long...even if it means killing the human." Samuel looked to his son then sighed, stepping forward and speaking up. "Your a bit late boy...she is already promised to my son." Alex blinked and looked to Samuel before shaking his head. " I think koren deserves to make that choice on her own...she surely is old enough to know what she wants and who she wants."
Nicholas rolled his eyes and shook his head while Samuel laughed hard for a moment. Nicholas looked to Alex and hissed. "No she doesn't get to make that choice! She is to do what she needs to do as a princess and if that means marrying Soren then-" Nicholas, Samuel and Alex all jumped when Naomi let out a yell. "ENOUGH! All of you shut up! Nicholas do not stand there and claim she doesn't have a choice! Koren is old enough to know who she is in love with and if you would stop thinking like a king and think like a father you would see it...GUARDS!" Naomi looked to the guards and growled. "Prepare a room for Alex." Nicholas looked just as floored as Alex while Naomi turned back to them. "Koren will make this choice on her own...Alex can stay here as long as he needs until Koren speaks up and makes her choice...and you will not run him off do I make myself clear Nicholas?" The large male lion, the king of this anthro kingdom stared down at his wife with wide eyes and in silence for several moments before nodding a bit. "Alright...fine..." Nicholas turned with Samuel and left, leaving Koren to let out a happy squeak and jump to hug Alex again, nuzzling against him and purring heavily while he hugged her in return, a smile on his face as he began petting her.
