lizards appear to do less-than good things to him.

It's still pretty good comprehension with so little time! His parents would be proud.

A man in metal – 10

I think I'm making great advances, I can understand about half of an ounce of a fragment of a piece of what i need for a basic understanding of their language. In fact, I can tell that today is the cinvinçe of Lustan. Wich means it's the fifteen of lustan, which is the fifteenth month of twenty. Now, I need to learn “Don't kill me please!" and “I come in peace!". Oh, and “You'll never catch me alive!" for good measure. Let's see…

Suddenly I hear the familiar door familiarly opening to show a not so familiar space lizard. It's labcoat, I assume bringing lunch… and a device of some sort. Looks like a tablet but it has cables all around that she's somehow balancing over her shoulder. She just stands there looking behind her every once in a while. I think she's waiting for someone.

“…"

“…"

The awkward atmosphere is only making things feel more uncomfortable. I need to break the ice. Let's see…

“No, nice weather we're having right?"

“…"

“Oh, wait, it's space. It's always the same weather. Ahahaha…"

“…"

Well, that didn't work. If anything it just made look like an idiot.

“Look, human, I'm going to be direct."

That doesn't sound good. She's frowning and probably would cross her arms if she could.

“I know that you've been fooling around with the men. Let me make it clear that I'm not interested in whatever you may be trying to do."

“Eh? Oh. Ohhh…"

“Yeah. That. Now, what those bloke heads want to do with their life is not my concern, but don't think I'll be the same."

“Well, I'm glad that not everybody is a horndog in this place."

“What?"

Oops. There goes my mouth. Calling her companions horny rapists is not going to make things any better.

“Wait, are you telling me that THEY are the ones who started it?"

“Ehhh… yeah?"

The lizard closes her eyes. Then looks up, then down. Then she sighs.

“The worst part is, human. Even though you're an alien who could very well be shifting blame to someone else and I have no reason to believe anything you say…"

I can't believe the gall of these people. No shame for kidnapping me at all, she even has the gall to call me untrustworthy. What a…

“I am not even surprised that it is the case."

Wait, mind. Don't think anything you might regret later.

“Look. I just wanted to tell you that I need to make a couple of tests."

“Tests? Like what?"

“Just reading your blood pressure and things like that."

Looking at the device, I severely doubt it.

“Look, I think you should be truthf-“

Before I can finish talking, the door opens again and the three other lizards enter.

“Is he ready yes, OB77?"

“I am trying to."

“Well, get on with it."

“Meh. Human I need you to give me the translator. It'll… interrupt the readings."

Hmmm… well, I am not a genius, but even I can tell that they are hiding their true purpose here, and they don't want me to find out. Still, I think I can manage without the translator… hmmm...

“But I won't be able to hear what you say!"

“Well, we-“

“We can tell you when it's done. Right PA11?"

“R-Right."

Not believing a second. But if I make it look like I care, they will not suspect anything.

“Hmmm…"

“Human, you will do as you are told. Or else…"

He's showing me some kind of black square with metal nubs on the end. I'm going to assume it's a weapon. PA11 jumps in place and moves to the side of the captain.

“Captain! He doesn't even know what a çenta is!"

“Oh, he's gonna know soon enough."

“Captain! There's no need for violence here!"

“If you think you can convince him, do so. If not…"

I don't think I want to know what that thing is. The others seem to find it excessive on some form, if the surprised faces of everyone else is an indication.

“Human, believe me, I'll tell you later okay? Just please…"

The idea of a space lizard pleading me would be incredibly cute… in other circumstances. Here, it feels horrifying.

“Okay, I'll… take it off."

I pull the translator from my ear. Suddenly, I feel a lot more nervous.

“[…] is it out, OB77?"

“Yes. He […] understand."

_ Well, I'm understanding some things. Not all though. Now, I need to try to make it look like I'm completely clueless. Ok, Derek, concentrate._

“[…] that was easy. I didn't think it would work. You are really attached to this alien, are you, PA11?"

“Well, captain, it's… complicated."

“Oh, […]. This is why […] of getting too attached!"

“Yeah, 11, you know we're gonna reach […] in […]"

“I know, 41. I know."

Oh, damn. He didn't use a number. I can't tell what he said. What was the number part? Did he use a different way of saying it? I…

Wait. PA41 knows I can say swear words. He totally did it on purpose. He's trying to gauge how much I can understand from them. I don't change my expression.

“So, we should start now. I'll take the left."

“Remember to put the shackles AND hold him. […] can work badly if I do this wrong."

That sounds bad. Like, really bad. But 41 is looking at me, I know he's expecting me to react. I'm not gonna fall for it.

“41, help 11 with the shackles. He won't be able to shake me off."

Well, did the guy that is half my size say that he could hold me off? Pffft.

“C'mon, 11."

“S-Sure."

They position themselves at both sides. I don't move a muscle. If I were to get in position, everything will be ruined. They gesture me with pushing motions. I just look puzzled.

“Maybe we should have told him beforehand."

“Well, OB77, I didn't hear that piece of […] before."

“You didn't ask, Captain."

“You two stop arguing."

“Yeah, you tell, them 11!"

The bickering seems to never end with these people. No matter. I eventually have to take the hint before captain trigger-happy tries to get out his piece again.

“Oh, he did it."

I look at them with a puzzling expression, like a dog waiting to see if his master rewards him. Apparently, it is the good decision, since both 11 and the captain quickly secure the shackles on the bed, leaving me in oh-so dreaded paralysis. I make a surprised face and try to wriggle.

“Stop […]! I can't do anything if he's […] like a […]!"

I deem my theatrics enough, and look at 11 with a sad expression. He looks away from me. Wow, I'm good at this emotions thing. But I have little time to contemplate my ability at drama, since the lab coat, takes out… a needle!? Oh, damn, they are going to sedate me or who knows what. This time I'm truly wriggling.

“Oh, no, he knows what a […] is!?"

“I dunno! Just make him stop, I need to […] before I put the […]!"

“Hold him up captain!"

“I'm… trying! This thing has the strength of a […]!"

“Human, please calm down!"

“PA41, he can't hear you! I'm […] him!"

“No, stop it! Don't hurt him!"

“What do you even […]?"

“Fuck you, 41! Don't-"

_ BZZZZZZZZZZT!_

I don't even register anything else. Everything fades to black.
