Originally Maya had sceduled an orientation briefing to teach Hira about Excalibur protocols for 1600 hours today, but she postponed it until in the morning when Sam informed her that Hira had gone to watch the educational disk.

Hira went to her cabin and locked the door, then activated the program Sam had given her.
The hologram of a very attractive collie girl appeared as Sam had said, and began to speak. "My name is Tracy." she said. "I recorded this to teach the finer points of canine and human intimacy. "
"My name is Hira." Hira replied. "I am interested in mating with a male human and a female canine like myself."
The hologram nodded, and began toexplain the anatomical differences first, pointing to a whiteboard which showed a detailed anatomical drawing of two human penises and a canine penis as she spoke.

Tracy changed the slide again, and this time it showed two canine females from the rear view.

"Admiral, if we didnt have to slow down to replenish their water we could cover this Expanse faster." Tina said. "If you'll all examine the datapads in front of you I believe I have a solution. Theoretically it would be possible to dock, and thus to replenish their water while in hyperspace."
"Yeah but even if we can synchronize our hyperdrives, we would still have to deal with subspace turbulence...riding eachother's jetwash when linking up." the Lee's chief engineer added.
"Thats why we remodulate our shield harmonics to filter it out." Kara chimed in. "Theoretically it could work."
"I agree." Callie said.
"Alrahght." Maya said. "We'll test it soon's yer all ready. Next issue." she paused then "S' come t' mah attention that a lot a' yer crewmen're in need a sexual relief....an' in this Expanse we don' have the luxury a' planets lahk Aphrodite III t relieve that tension. T' that end, many a' mah crew're open t' the ahdea a' facilitatin that relief."
"Respectfully Admiral, many of us are not comfortable with mating outside our species." Jim pointed out. "That said, I do agree tensions are high."

"As fer waste disposal, normally we'd jus' purge the sewage tanks when they git full, but we're alone in this Expanse...we caint count on resupplyin....s' we bin usin' a reclamation system t' remove usable parts from the waste an' resequence it t' usable materials. Ah'm not jus talkin about fertilizer fer the hydroponics plants, but actually breakin it down at the atomic level an' resuin the base elements t' make everthang from paper t' bullets. Tina kin send ya the specs fer the system."
"You can make stuff from it?" Dana asked. "You don't mean....food?"
"Theoretically it could be used to make food too, but we have only used it to make non-food comsumables like ammunition and paper." Tina explained.
"What about meat?" Mike asked.
"Our selection a' farm animals have a healthy breedin' population in cargo-bay 4." Maya said. "Meat won' be a problem fer many years...s' hope we aint in the Expanse that long."
And so on it went, the meeting lasting several hours.
