The Grey (Poem)
On February 2nd my good friend and I had a very productive day/night in what i call "cinemaxing", better known to others as Theater-Hopping. We saw the films, "The Grey", and then that same day, ok technically the next one, we caught the first showing of "The Lady in Black" at midnight. i am a fan of horror movies and found the latter to be an excellent surprise. Over the course of that one day, i wrote three poems; two Haiku's based on The Grey and "Lady", and then one much longer poem written on a note-pad my friend just happened to have with him, in the pitch black of a theater. That poem i hope to post, it has an intriguing backstory, and is one of the more frightening poems i have ever written.
This poem is a rarity for me, i almost never write Haiku's, as i dont care for limiting myself to lines and meter. But i think i did a fairly good job. The scene that inspired it is after they land, and are walking through the forest with torches.
Comments are appreciated!
Deep, rustling, dark-green.
Torches flicker to morning,
Running from the Grey.
