Loser's Bracket: Tropius vs Nidoking
Tropius and Nidoking face off against each other, with both having a cause to fight for. Though only one of them has a more noble cause than the other
As the two stood on opposite sides of the arena, Tropius spoke first.
“An arrogant person like you doesn’t deserve a chance to be king. What makes you think you are deserving? You are just like Corviknight who keeps taking and taking from my home when you’ve had more than enough of your fill. Tell me, for someone such as you who has more than enough to live a good life, you who risk your own family and life just to gain more than you need?” Tropius questioned Nidoking as he took his handaxe from his hip.
“Hmph! You don’t know what it’s like, I don’t do this because I want to, but because I HAVE to” Nidoking said as he answered Tropius.
“Have to? Don’t be absurd, last I heard of you, you were doing just fine. Earning more than you need already, it makes me hate someone like you genuinely. And I’m a forgiving person, so that says as much about you” Tropius argued.
“Are you done speaking? Or are you going to start the fight? Because I didn’t come here to debate you at all” Nidoking said as he gripped his poisonous warhammer.
“It seems words don’t reach you, then I will make you see your participation in this tournament is completely pointless through my actions” Tropius said as he placed a hand down the floor, sending a wave of plant growth heading towards Nidoking.
“...!” Nidoking stepped away from the path of what seemed like a shockwave of nature, only for it to follow him and sprouting flora that seemed to look like rafflesia’s and started spewing spores.
Nidoking immediately leapt out, feeling himself getting paralyzed, but willed through it as he forced his body to move and taking a pill made from cheri berry, curing himself instantly.
“So you even got tricks of your own, and I thought you only used that handaxe when you showed that pitiful display with Corviknight” Nidoking said, gripping the hammer tightly.
“I have a renewed sense of determination to see things through. I have nothing to lose now, with a very kind master who will see to my people’s needs, and an opportunity to win back my freedom… I still desire to achieve the needs of my people with my own strength!” Tropius said as he threw his handaxe at him before using both arms to send forth a stronger, wider ranged wave of nature towards him.
Nidoking caught the handaxe, and threw it to the side for now.
“Then I’ll show you just how strong my will is, and that it hasn’t changed a single bit, not even enough to take a pity on a pitiful fool like you!” Nidoking said as he swung his hammer right on the ground just as the plant growth reached him.
As the kinetic energy met the plant growth, the poison in the hammer got triggered, and spilt forth a dangerously toxic pool of poison.
The plant growth immediately started dying, wilting down as they got poisoned, with Tropius realizing that he may need to do something about that warhammer.
“Kukukukuku! It seems that Tropius isn’t the only one able to manipulate the environment!” Hypnon commented.
Tropius felt himself getting weakened a bit from the poison, immediately drawing his hands away from the floor and wilting plants.
“You cur… This is a violation of nature itself!” Tropius growled at him.
“A violation? Hardly, I’m merely defending myself, and you should take the blame for using those on me in the first place” Nidoking said as he took the handaxe and threw it at Tropius.
Tropius caught it easily with how he could still control where it went.
“Then I will need to change your place by force!” Tropius said, instead focusing his efforts on the whole arena instead of a concentrated area.
Nidoking recognized what he was doing as he saw grass grow around them, and trees beginning to sprout, it was the same tactic that he had used on Corviknight.
“So you think you can use your seed bombs on me? And you’re the one saying I’m violating nature when you’re turning it into weapons of war. But sure, I’ll gladly poison the hell out of these, it is great fun to see these things die!” Nidoking said as he began to charge ahead, letting the hammer get dragged as he charged in, making a streak of dead grass in his path.
And as expected, seed bombs started raining down on him, which Nidoking completely tanked as he kept charging in.
“What…?” Tropius said as he saw Nidoking tanking every seed bomb coming at him.
“What? Did you think that little trick would work on me? I’ve been training my body to take more hits, mainly my scales, especially from explosions. You think I would have done nothing and prepared myself, fool?” Nidoking asked as he managed to reach Tropius and swing his hammer at him.
“I’ll endeavor, I just have to find some weakness of sorts on you!” Tropius dodged, taking flight as he threw his handaxe again at Nidoking.
Nidoking tried to catch it again, only for the handaxe to deliberately avoid his hand, before it defied physics and started trying to hit him over and over again like it had a mind of its own.
“Annoying piece of wood… I’ll break it soon as I catch it!” Nidoking began blocking the handaxe, finding it hard to focus on Tropius at the same time.
Tropius didn’t waste any time and started sending air slashes at him, the white streaks of deadly air pressure coming straight towards Nidoking.
Nidoking saw it in time and planted the warhammer right in front of him, creating a poison pool at the same time as the air slash being split by the warhammer.
“Gangh…!” Nidoking cried out in pain, the handaxe having buried against his side, he pulled it off, keeping his grip tight on it.
“Oh? He caught it! Kukukukuku! And I thought the clumsy rich dumbass was too slow to do that!” Hypno laughed at Nidoking’s expense.
Tropius held a hand out, trying to get his weapon back, but Nidoking seemed to have a death grip on it.
“This toy of yours… IS ANNOYING!” Nidoking growled and broke the hand axe apart, angering Tropius.
Tropius roared in anger, and charged down at him from the air, using leaf storm while he was at it.
“That… Was the legacy that my forefathers had passed down for generations! You will pay with your life!” Tropius said, losing his temper as he unleashed a blast of sharp leaves right at Nidoking.
Nidoking was weakened a bit from the wound that the axe gave him earlier, but smirked as he started walking right against the strong gust of wind, and though his scales were sturdy enough to endure the attack, he felt cuts in the less protected areas of his body getting cut and bruised by the attack.
“Kukukuku! What a cat fight! It’s almost as fun as when I watch ex lovers fighting each other when the other cheated on them!” Hypno said as he watched Nidoking and Tropius fight like feral pokemorphs.
“It must have been a lame legacy if they hadn't thought of replacing the wood with steel” Nidoking mocked as he sheathed his warhammer and got ready to face Tropius as they clashed on the ground.
Nidoking was being dragged by Tropius on the ground now as he used a free hand to hold onto Tropius, while he began pummeling him with the other.
Tropius roared in anger, and even started biting like a feral pokemorph, piercing Nidoking’s scales as the noble growled and backhanded him off.
Tropius took flight in the air and tried to thrash around to make Nidoking let go.
The two were now high in the air, and Tropius decided to take advantage of this, charging a solar beam as the sun gave him a quicker charge time for his attack.
“...!” Nidoking tried to kick him away, it would be bad for him to get a point blank beam of the solar beam.
Tropius however, grabbed his foot, and kept charging the solar beam, willing to obliterate Nidoking now.
“You savage prick! I won’t lose to you here now!” Nidoking growled as he grabbed Tropius by his muzzle, keeping his mouth closed.
“Mmmpph!!!” Tropius angrily thrashed his head, before uppercutting Nidoking, making him let go as Tropius opened his mouth and tried his best to aim at his opponent.
Nidoking then felt his left arm get injured badly as he got hit with the solar beam, but made sure to wrap an arm around Tropius’ long neck and take him down with him as they fell right back at the flora filled ground.
With a crash, they both laid on the ground, but Nidoking was still on top of Tropius, his arm still wrapped around the neck of the tribal chief. It seemed as if they both were too injured from the crash to move, that is until Nidoking started getting up.
“Oh? Looks like Nidoking is still in the game!” Hypno commented as he watched Nidoking carry Tropius by the neck.
“You fool… Did you think… I’d let go of my position in my life? Did you think I’d let a savage like you, born of common blood, raised in some gutter trash bitch like you get the better of me?” Nidoking said as he held Tropius with one neck and started dragging him to the poisonous pools that he had made.
Tropius was still recovering after the crash, Nidoking had seemed to have used him to soften his landing, letting Tropius take the full brunt of the landing earlier.
But at the same time, Nidoking’s left arm was injured, he could barely feel it as it sizzled from the solar energy earlier, but that wasn’t a problem, he still had his right arm with him.
Nidoking then dunked him headfirst right in the poison, drowning the tribal chief, who began thrashing about with his own injured body.
“Grrr… Hold still you stupid piece of trash! All your kind are good for is to serve the wealthy, like me” Nidoking growled, he did genuinely hate how the poor would always struggle against the wealthy.
“Glrbblrbrbrg!!!” Tropius screamed, precious air being expended as he kept trying to get out of the poison pool.
Nidoking only gripped him harder, pressing Tropius’ face down on the pool before slowly letting go when the struggling stopped.
“Kukukukuku! Let us count! 10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1… And we have a winner! Kukukuku!” Hypno said as he finished the countdown.
The medics were quick to take Tropius from drowning even further in poisoin, and began treating both Nidoking and Tropius.
“So… Did you really think you win? For a noble, you fought more like a peasant fighting for the last scraps of food. Kukukuku!” Hypno asked Nidoking.
“Hmph! Don’t make me laugh, there are no rules to being a noble when fighting. The only thing I care about is crushing people like him who think they are too good to serve their monarchs. It angers me even more when they think they can rise up out of their conditions, when in reality, nothing brings me more joy than to crush their hopes and keep them poor” Nidoking answered.
“Kukuku! I wouldn’t have expected any less from someone born from wealth. A perfect monster too if you become the next king” Hypno said, revelling in the cruelty.
“I’ll take my leave. I’ll be glad to enjoy the rest of my day without being Electivire’s plaything” Nidoking said, leaving before Hypno could say anything.
“Hmph! How rude! I would have wanted to insult both of them even more… Oh well! It’s… PUNISHMENT TIME!” Hypno said as the arena doors opened, revealing some punishers.
