Ellis was close and he knew it. He was pretty sure he’d found the location of a lost temple dedicated to Quetzalcoatl. They’d been careful, getting permission to come and explore. Always with the understanding that they weren’t going to take and sell anything. They were archaeologists after all. He was more interested in the history of it all than what anything was worth.

Probably why he wasn’t the lead on this. Also probably why he was currently alone, far deeper into the jungle than he should be.

He couldn’t leave though. For the rest of them, the survey might be over, but not him. No, not after he’d gotten compelling evidence. The season might be over for the rest of the party, but not him. He’d begged the Director to give him another two weeks. Even just another week to check out his information! Nope. Their papers were only good till the end of the month.

So maybe he’d liberated some gear. Most of it was his anyway. Camera, notebooks, his trail pack, and a few other things. All that he’d taken from the supplies was some camping gear. Didn’t want to die of starvation after all.

Why go through all this over the chance that his translations were right? Same reason why he was down here anyway. The history! Oh there was just something so… he hesitated to say Magical, but that’s what it felt like. It was hard to describe just how it felt. To be standing in cities that were thousands of years old. Handling artifacts that hadn’t seen the light of day in… who knew how long? Not just that either. The general feel of these places. It amazed him how it felt like history was just… weighing down on him. Felt like it was nearly crushing him sometimes.

But yeah, his discovery!

He had been working the fringes of the city and happened upon a marker. Well he’d sat down to have his lunch and noticed his seat had writing! While mile markers weren’t generally exciting, a word had caught his attention. Quetzalcoatl.

Going back to check his notes, he found there had been some items. Icons and the like. No temples dedicated to Quetzalcoatl though.

Closer examination, heaving the rock upright, revealed the truth. The temple wasn’t located where they were. It was several topu away. Which meant it was a few km into the jungle in a place they weren’t cleared to travel or explore in. Pair that with funding getting low, and the fact that he couldn’t exactly place which way the marker had originally stood… Well, the Director hadn’t been exactly supportive. I’ll make a note of it. We can put it on the ledger for next trip.

Pha! That was over a year out.

No, he couldn’t wait. This was one of those things that he couldn’t readily explain. He’d always been… drawn to Quetzalcoatl. As a kid, it’d been written off as, “Well he’s cool.” Growing up? Well, it still lingered. That hunger fueled by his curiosity. A drive to learn all he could. Something about an untouched Quetzalcoatl temple? Oh it was that desire that he couldn’t begin to scratch. It was something that he knew could only be sated by going to explore. To see the temple himself. Even if it was only a glimpse.

With that decided, he’d left a note, took his gear, and left. Ellis stopped now and then to check his maps and compass. He knew how good they had been at measuring distances, but gave himself a little leeway regardless. Just orientate himself and head for that arc he’d drawn. It had to be out there.

There were roads still. Those ancient roads were still used today. Great way for getting gear in and out. Though sadly, the path he’d selected had been mostly upturned by root and tree. Still though, he figured it was best to follow a path. Had to be one, right? Even if it was old and busted, there had to be an old road heading out there.

Hours passed. Each time he checked the map against his compass, it seemed like he hadn’t been going far. It took time though. He could average about a half-topu per hour if he pushed. Which he wasn’t trying to drive himself into the ground. No. He had time. If need be, he’d just let the expedition leave without him.

Ellis took a deep breath and smiled. Stretching, adjusting his pack, and pressing on. This felt… good. Almost like he’d walked this path before. Probably didn’t hurt that so much of the jungle looked the same. But no, he’d always felt good coming through the jungles. Back home, he’d walk trails and spend countless days camping out. He knew what it would take to survive with just a few items.

Rustle.

He stilled at that sound and glanced around. Nerves crawled over his spine slowly. That had sounded like something pushing through the undergrowth. Couldn’t see anything, but that wasn’t unusual. So many predators blended in well. Taking a breath, he pushed forward and began to sing. He was far away enough from base camp that they wouldn’t hear him. So he didn’t worry about belting out show tunes in his best (worst) voice. Just be as loud as he could. Someone walking through the woods quietly was a target. A big dumb human stumbling through the brush tended to drive things off.

Still couldn’t shake the feeling that something was watching him.

It wasn’t long before the light started to fade. He blinked and checked his watch. He’d been walking for hours and it was getting dark. “Guess it’s time to camp,” he said out loud. The last few hours had been filled with him voicing everything that came to mind. He still felt like something was watching him. Observing him. It was an unnerving feeling, yet not an uncommon one. Something about the deep forests and not being able to see that clearly set off some primal alarms.

Getting a camp going was pretty easy. He’d packed a hammock, tarp, and plenty of food. Yum, freeze dried meals. Water was easy too. Plenty of streams, and he could always boil what he collected. It was easy enough to find a little clearing. Matter of minutes to clear the ground for a small campfire. Get everything set up, and even collect some water.

He was just leaning back from his fire when something caught his eye. A flash of something white against the darkening green. A hint of blue that drew his eye. Ellis lifted his head and… froze.

A creature crouched at the very edge of his camp. Bright, intelligent eyes staring at him from behind a screening fern. It waited there as their eyes locked. Long, angled snout pointed towards him and sniffed. The creature itself wasn’t like anything he’d ever seen. Well… it was like something he’d seen, but never outside of movies or TV. It looked like a raptor! Like two legged, barking, six-inch claw wielding raptor. Nothing at all like a giant turkey, certainly not a veliciraptor. Too large for one of those.

Perhaps he should worry less about what type of raptor it was. Maybe he should be more worried about other things. Like the fact he was staring at what should be an extinct creature!

No sudden movements. Ellis kept staring at the raptor as it sat there. Deep green eyes meeting his. Its head tilting ever so slightly one way then the other. A low trill lifting from the creature followed by a coughing call. He jumped a little, ears straining to hear others. There had to be others. Right? These things were supposed to be pack hunters. There had to be anywhere from two to a dozen of the things out there. Just waiting to strike.

Yet nothing happened.

He and the not-extinct dinosaur continued to stare at each other. Ellis looked over the thing. Smokey gray and white hide. Vibrantly blue feathers. So they did have feathers! Or at least they had feathers now? Hard to say if it was an evolutionary thing or… Know what? He could worry about paleontology later.

“Um, Hello.”

Well that was stupid wasn’t it? Saying hello to a dinosaur. Why’d he have to wave too? Hi, hello, I notice you’re not extinct. Would you like to come and have some tea? Perhaps with a side of my entrails spilled all over the campsite?

“Hello.”

Ellis froze. Then blinked slowly at the creature. It tilted its head and mirrored the blink. Was it just mirroring him or was it doing something else? Could it be intelligent? At the very least the level of intelligence of a parrot. Certainly had a large enough head to house a large brain. Maybe it was somewhat clever.

Very slowly, he reached up and gave his chest a pat. “My name is Ellis.” The raptor tilted its head. He gave his chest another slow pat, “Ellis.”

Crest feathers lifted as the raptor rocked back and mirrored the chest pat. “Atzi!” came the barking purr. Well, that was certainly unexpected. Far as he knew, Atzi was a proper name. One derived from rain. Certainly fitting, judging from the coloring.

“Hello Atzi, would you like to come join me? I was about to eat.” He spoke slow and clearly, trying English first. Failing that, he could always try Spanish or stumble his way through Aymara.

Those eyes brightened, “Food?” The raptor slunk forward a step, still cautious.

Ellis smiled without thinking and reached for his bag. Food bag rustling as he picked one out, “Yes, food. Not good food, but…” he looked at the package, “Spicy Southwest Skillet? Well that’s not a bad meal.”

He looked back towards Atzi. The raptor was practically atop him. Muzzle mere inches from his face. Ellis yelped and jumped back. Which made the raptor screech and leap back. Powerful legs launching the creature several feet before landing. It skidded and bolted behind a tree.

“Sorry!” he called out, “Sorry, Atzi.” The tip of a nose poked out from behind a trunk, “You startled me. Didn’t expect you to be that close.”

Feathers lay flat as the raptor poked its head back out from behind the tree. “Sorry,” came the mimicked, low whine. “Didn’t mean to startle. Curious.” Oddly, the voice was fairly clear. A little musical even, flavored with soft trills and purrs. “Come to watch digging.” Claws wiggled towards the dirt. “Dig dig, brush,” then a blowing noise.

He leaned forward, “You wanted to watch us excavate?”

The head bobbed and feathers perked. “Yuh, exca… ex… excu...” The muzzle twisted, “Big dig.” A self-assured nod. “Watching dig. People crawl around, write things in books, take,” the raptor mimicked the sound of a camera; “of dirt-things. Then saw Ellis, sneaky out.” Atzi moved to the other side of his fire and settled into a crouch.

This was utterly amazing! Not only had he run into an honest to God raptor, but it could talk! He cast a quick look over the raptor out of curiosity. Hard to tell about anatomy, for obvious reasons. Though tone and pitch of voice had him thinking female perhaps? Felt a little rude to ask, at least this fast after meeting. Maybe if it came up later. “Yes,” he admitted, “I found something and wanted to go investigate.” A little thought formed. “Atzi, do you know about a temple?” She tilted her head curiously. Taking a stick, he sketched in the dirt. “Large building made of stone. Dedicated to Quetzalcoatl.” He sketched the symbol for the god.

Atzi lunged and took the stick from him. Ellis bit back another yelp. There was no stopping the slight shake in his hand after the raptor’s claws brushed his soft flesh. “Big,” she uttered a word he didn’t recognize. Sketching a rough profile of a building, “to feathered one!”

“You know this?”

She nodded and purred, “Yes, is Atzi home. Pack home.” Her head tilted, “Ellis wanting to go see? Make dig there?”

Well, if they were using it as a home, taking an entire archaeological team there seemed rather rude. Not to mention that they’d have paleontologists swarming. Oh heavens, just imagine the papers he could write after this. Just meeting and talking with Atzi would lead to countless grants and…

Well, who know what that would lead to. Certainly a boom in tourism. Though, he hated tourists. Just traipsing wherever cause they paid to come here. Expecting to be treated like royalty. No, tourists could stay out, but he felt that hunger. That need for knowledge. Knowledge that he was certain Atzi could provide. Oh he had hundreds, thousands, of questions. Ones he wasn’t sure she could answer.

His head was spinning just thinking about it. “No, no dig there unless it’s okay. I just want to take pictures.” He reached for his bag slowly and pulled out a camera. “Take,” he tried to mimic the sound the camera made. “Want to see?” She nodded curiously and leaned towards him. He lifted the camera and snapped a picture. Atzi jumped at the sound, feathers on end, and a low growl rolling in her throat. Good thing he didn’t have the flash on.

Showing the image on the LCD screen changed her tone. The growl shifted to a curious purr. “That Atzi!” she called out.

Ellis smiled, “Yes, it’s Atzi's photo.” She looked at him curiously then grinned in return. Which was certainly a somewhat terrifying sight. Seeing that maw full of sharp teeth twist up into a semblance of a smile. “Can you show me your home?” Her head tilted then she started to stand. “Not now. Tomorrow, can’t see that well in the dark. Let’s have some food then start out in the morning.”

At the mention of food, she purred again and dropped to that crouch. “Food good. Leave in morning.” Which as he opened the packs of food, it drew her curiosity more. The raptor moving in closer, sniffing at the packs. “What this?”

Ellis showed her the oddly colored powder inside, “It’s food. Well, it will be once I add water and let it sit.”

That didn’t stop her from snowing her nose into the bag, sniffing, then pulling back with a shocked face. The raptress snorted, shook her head, then gave a mighty sneeze. “Don’t smell like food,” she declared. “Can go hunt.”

As tempting as fresh meat sounded, he wasn’t sure about his butchering skills. “Maybe later,” he offered a quick smile, trying trying his best to seem charming. Also to not laugh at the freeze dried meal that still clung to the edges of her nose. “Trust me, it’s a lot better once it’s had time to re-hydrate.” She crouched closer to him, expression seeming unsure, but willing to test. “So you live in the temple with your pack?”

She nodded, watching him curiously as he prepared their food. “Yes, been pack-home for long time.” Her muzzle crinkled as she thought a little. “Long as any can remember. Old ones have many, many stories to tell. More than most care to keep track of. Though some curious, love story, learn stories, become new Storyteller in time.”

“Oh? If you’re not a storyteller what are you?”

Feathers perked, “Huntress. Mostly. Love to explore, watch people. Could have been Guard, but Guard-Lead decide too friendly.” Her feathers lay flat, “Don’t like,” she uttered a word he didn’t recognize, “coming around home. Find ways to drive them off without revealing.” She looked at him cautiously, “Not gonna bring others are you?”

He held up a hand, “I swear it’ll just be me.” At least as long as he could manage. “Take only photos, leave only memories.”

The raptress extended a finger towards him, “Claw swear.”

Did… did she just ask him to pinky swear? That was certainly unexpected. He only offered the briefest of pause before curling his little finger around hers, “Claw swear.”

Atzi breathed out a pleased trill, “Good, unbreakable bond! Now,” she pulled back and tapped at her chin with a claw, “need to figure out way to sneak you in. Don’t want Guard to sniff-hunt you.”

“We can put our heads together and think about that. For now,” he offered her a steaming pack, “food should be done.” She took the pack and gave it a dubious sniff. Though the wary look melted as the rich, spicy aroma wafted against her snout. “Careful, it’s hot.” He reached for a camp spoon, “Might want to give it a minute to cool before…”

She was already nose-deep in the bag. Happily scarfing down the Southwest Skillet-less meal. He ate his at a more sedate pace. Sipping water as needed to combat the spicy dish.

Dinner done, the pair of them settled by the campfire and shared stories. Ellis happily telling her about legends from other cultures. In return, she shared stories about her pack. Ellis’ fingers itching to jot it down in a notepad. He could do that later. Certainly had a good enough memory.

It wasn’t until she bumped against him that he realized they’d been moving closer. “Atzi?” She trilled quietly, “Can I touch you?”

She blinked, firelight glistening in her achingly beautiful eyes, “Touch? OF course Ellis can touch.”

“I know, just seemed rude to without asking.” He chuckled, “Always get warned about touching without consent.”

Atzi blinked, “What’s consent?”

Ah, of course. With a tight-knit pack, they probably didn’t have to worry about certain issues. “It means you’re giving permission.”

She blinked, “Ellis hasn’t done bad, so of course Ellis can touch.”

Even with her permission, his hand was shaking slightly. Her skin was soft, warm to the touch. It was far softer than he’d imagined, like a soft leather. A light purr rolled up her throat as he felt up her cheek, leaning into his embrace. She leaned more of her weight against him as his fingers found a spot where her feathers met scalp. Plumage standing on end as she groaned. The sound obviously one of pleasure. Her eyes rolling back as that thick tail thumped off the ground.

Atzi leaned so heavily into him, that Ellis was leaning back. Further. Further…

Thud.

He hit the ground with her sprawled half-atop him. Now he could feel just how warm she really was. Not to mention how solidly muscled her body was. His cheeks went hot as she writhed atop him. The raptor seemingly oblivious to how her hip stroked his groin. He bit his lip and stopped scratching, trying to will himself to not have an erection.

“Errrrrmmmph,” she snorted, “Why stop touching? Felt good!” Her head twisted, nose bumping his chin.

Oh it was really, really hard to explain. “I, uh…” he couldn’t help but think about how long it had been since he’d been with anyone. Not since that stop-over in Tijuana… “Just, ah…” he faked a yawn, “Been walking a lot today.” He nodded towards his hammock and tarp, “Should get some rest.”

She snorted and let her head fall to his chest, “Is late.” Her muzzle turned to the air and sniffed, “Rain coming… Need shelter.”

Ellis tilted his head and sniffed. It took a few seconds before he heard the familiar thudding of rain coming towards. “I’ve got some shelter here. Not much, but happy to share it.” Quickly extracting himself from under the raptor, he lead the way to his tarp. Atzi sniffed at the nylon as he sat in the hammock and began to take off his boots. Then that got her attention more. Her curious gaze watching as he hung his gear up. He hesitated at removing his clothes, but then decided… why not? Taking off most of his stuff until he was just in undershirt and boxers.

About then, the rain began to hammer their shelter. The tarp happily shrugging it away. Atzi trilled quietly, “Is good.” Then busied herself with sniffing at his clothes some. All while his own vision faded. The scant light offered by the fire fading as the rain extinguished it. Ellis took the opportunity to slide into the hammock and under a light cover. Then darkness.

He listened to Atzi sniff about a moment before she looked at him. Eyes faintly glowing in the dark. The raptress drifted closer and tugged at his hammock, “What this?”

“It’s a hammock. A simple, light way to carry a bed around.” Her eyes angled as she tilted her head, “A travel nest. Not that durable, have to be careful about it getting cut.”

“Ooh,” she trilled, “nice. Very nice.”

And then he felt it. Her claw slid over his belly as the raptor moved in. Weight shifted atop him again as she started to crawl in. “A…” he tried to keep the shake out of his voice, “Atzi, what are you doing?”

“Being careful.” Her tone was so matter-of-fact. “Don’t want damage Ellis-Nest.” Then she stopped as if a thought occurred to her, “Does Ellis give consent to join?”

What else could he say? “Of course, just be…” He grunted as her weight dropped on him, setting the whole hammock swaying, “Gentle…”

Atzi curled against him, the raptress longer than he was tall. Her tail curled and hung off the edge of the hammock. Her warm form pulled close to him by the nature of the hammock. Soft, spiced purrs washed against his cheek as she wiggled and got herself situated. “Cozy,” came the huff.

“V-very,” he responded nervously. Though, it was nice. Her warmth and the softness of her skin and feathers… Ellis found himself turning to sniff at her plumage. Smelling only the rich, green scent of earth and jungle from her. “Good night, Atzi.”

“Good night, Ellis.” She yawned, tongue brushing his cheek. Then wiggled in closer to him. Low purrs soon turning into quiet snores. This was… comfortable. More so than it had any right to be. He nuzzled her head and was rewarded with a quiet purr. Closing his eyes, he breathed in her scent again. Just inhaling that as the day caught up to him. His own slumbering sounds joining a moment later.

Morning came slowly. Ellis groaned as a gentle warmth woke him. He lay there, waiting for his mind to catch up. He was out in the jungle, miles from camp. He’d fallen asleep with a decidedly not extinct raptor curled against him. Now he woke with that warmth against him. Oddly, he also felt damp. Not the sweaty damp from sleeping in the unbearable humidity, but some other form of wet. Something familiar, yet alien at the same time.

Then something slithered against him. More accurately, it was sliding against his morning wood. Something warm, slick, and inviting. A puff of air accompanied a chuff and trilling purr. He shivered, thinking it was a dream. At least until that warmth circled his tip and trailed down his shaft. Ending with a nose bumping his sac.

Eyes shot open, finding his vision blocked by a stormy gray rear. Atzi’s backside loomed over him. The raptress perched atop him. Her powerful hunter legs easily straddling him and standing on the floor. All but trapping him between cot and cunt. It was dark out, the sun only just starting to rise. Which meant that a soft, green light illuminated her backside. Not that he needed it. He could smell Atzi’s own excitement. Feel the warmth pressing against him

Ellis could just make out the outline of her lips. Glistening, swollen, and waiting for something. He tried to hold back a shocked gasp at the sight. Her tongue pulled the sound from him regardless. Body arching off the hammock as she drew him into her maw.

Relief came as the raptor pulled back and craned her head. “You’re awake!” she chirped. “Had thought on how to sneak you past guards. Just have to make you smell like me. So started to rub against you some.” That would explain the damp on his undershirt. “Then you got all excited,” her clever claw curled around his cock and lifted it. “So decided to have a sniff. Then a…” her tongue raced around his cock, “lick.” Oh fuck, that lap was almost enough to set him off. “Is that okay?”

What the fuck did she expect him to say? No way in God’s green Earth was he going to tell her to stop. The thought that she wasn’t human didn’t even cross his mind. “Yeah, it’s more than okay.” He huffed, nose practically rubbing her pussy. He licked his lips, tasting some of her pussy juices. “Might want to lick too.” He half-joked.

“Okay!” Atzi promptly sat down on his face. Mashing her pussy back against him and nearly smothering him. He tried to gasp, but found his face full of raptor cunt. His cheeks went red-hot and his cock pulsed with arousal. Fuck me! He’d never thought twice about face sitting. Now that it was happening to him? Being utterly trapped under a female that clearly knew what she wanted? He’d be damned if it wasn’t the more arousing thing he’d ever experienced.

He didn’t have a second to think about the possibility that he was already damned. Not as she began to rock back against him. Hungry little barks sounding from the raptress as she dove down. Sharp teeth barely grazed his flesh. Despite the danger, his cock surged to meet her attention. Rewarding her with a hearty drop of his precum.

She trilled and lowered her head. Kneading his thighs with sharp talons as she suckled on his length. Ellis tried to match her attention. Nuzzling into her and licking, exploring the alien pussy. He’d never been known for being a cunning linguist.

Yet she seemed to enjoy it. Her voice rising and purrs pressing down against him. A gasp washed over his lap, the raptor turning her head to moan. All while her tongue curled about his flesh and began to milk and pull at him. Eagerly suckling upon his spire as he tried to minister to her minge. His tongue found something, a swollen button tucked behind her lips. Giving it a curious suckle, he was rewarded with a squeal and a squirt. The raptor bucking against him.

No way in hell he was going to last. Especially not once she began to buck and grind. Rocking the hammock between it’s ropes. Forcing his head back as she all but fucked herself on his face. Still, he wasn’t going to disappoint. Curling his lips around her clit and suckling even as his eyes rolled back.

It was no surprise that he came first. Pent-up length exploding in her maw. Atzi dove down to suckle on him, greedily lapping up his cum. All while she continued to buck and grind. More than happy to use him as a masturbation toy. Her tail arched high, curling up to show off before… She threw her head back with a barking call. Soaking his face and neck with her juices. Those gloriously powerful, feathered hips shook with her climax. Ellis staring up at her, dumbstruck and grinning.

He didn’t have long to bask in his afterglow. The raptor was up first, looking back at him with that toothy grin. She stepped off the hammock and sniffed at him. “There! Smell like me now.” Her eyes went cross, staring at a shock of cum on her muzzle, “Smells like you too.” She lapped it up with a giggle. “Start walking?”

“Y-yeah,” he panted, “do you want breakfast first?”

Atzi perked again, “Food good! Yes, food then walk.” She looked over him then out, “Fast as you walk… midday…” then another toothy grin, “Unless we stop for more…” she purred a word he didn’t know. Though judging from how her fingers curled around his cock, and the look in her eye; her meaning was clear.

And he’d be a fool to say no.

“Sounds like a plan!” Ellis grinned and started to sit up.

Night had fallen by the time they reached the temple. Atzi was guiding Ellis along, his hand resting on the small of her back. His clothes were soaked, and not just from the rain. They’d stopped several times along the hike for food, rest, and of course, Snu Snu. She was practically insatiable. Luckily for him, she also seemed to be easy to bring to climax. More than that, she was tight! His cock still tingled from the sheer warmth of her slit around him. Not to even mention how it had milked him…

Needless to say, it was worth not seeing the temple in the daylight. Though under the light of the full moon, it was still stunning.

“Wow,” he breathed out.

“Asst!” she whisper-hissed at him, “quiet. Smell not stop sound.”

Right, right. He had to remind himself to keep his awe silent. He couldn’t resist a quiet, “Awww,” before they slipped out of the brush. Atzi either not hearing, or caring. Guess they didn’t get 90s movies out here.

He stayed low, hand one either her hip or her tail. Trusting the raptor to know when to move and when to stop. More than once, she would stop short and he’d nearly run into her. Once she even hissed and thumped him with her tail. He dropped to the grass and stayed as still as he could. Not even daring to breathe until she gave the all clear.

Maybe he was raised on one too many movies. Just maybe he was hoping that there would be some tricky part. Something where they’d run into a guard. He’d nearly be discovered. Then, only through quick thinking, he’d get away. Though if that happened, then it’d have to be revealed that someone he trusted had betrayed him. Either with Atzi being a double-agent, or the Director showing up.

Life was a far cry from movies though. Atzi was capable and knew this area well. Which she should, since it was her home. They made it to a side entrance without any mishaps and got inside. “Okay,” she uttered quietly, “Should be safe. Far from sleeping chambers. Pack stay there at night, except for guards.” He felt her shift before her muzzle bumped him. “Should be able to use light if you have one.” He could imagine her smile, “Since you can’t gawk without.”

He grinned and unhooked the long, bar-shaped light from his pack. “Excuse me, some of us didn’t grow up in an ancient wonder.” The solar-powered light flicked on. Low at first so as not to blind either. Though Atzi still pulled away with a quiet grumble. Her eyes narrowed as he lifted the bar overhead and stared.

Murals. Murals everywhere. All of them looked to be perfectly preserved. Their vibrant, amazing colors showing off daily life from centuries past. His jaw all but dropped as he turned the brightness up and swept the wall. White LEDs showing off every last detail. Just… what could he possibly say in this moment? Hundreds of thoughts raced through his head as he just stared. Atzi looking at him curiously, waiting for him to say something.

“Wow.”

Yeah, that’s about right. Three little letters to sum up everything he felt and saw right now. Just… “Wow,” he repeated. Ellis fumbled his camera out. Atzi catching the light when he dropped it. Then holding it up helpfully so he could snap some pictures. “Thank you,” he smiled.

She returned the smile, “Of course for Friend Ellis.” Feathers perked proudly as she held the light in both claws. Happily pointing it where he asked.

This went on for several minutes before she asked, “Want to see more?”

Oh eh could spend all day here. All week. Hell, the rest of his life if he could. “I would love to see more.” He put the camera back and reclaimed the light.

“Good,” came a trill, “Though stay back few feet. Just in case.”

He wasn’t sure what he needed to stay back for, but was glad to. Lingering a few seconds behind her. Always letting her get to corners first. Waiting as she checked before following behind. The sounds of the jungle outside quickly faded away. Replaced with just the sound of their breathing, her claws on stone, and his boots thudding along. Needless to say, she was far more quiet than he.

Yet, despite being half-blind and utterly devoid of stealth, they once again made it without incident. And where did they make it? Well, he could only hazard a guess. Especially as she lead him through one corridor after another. Every path leading them higher and higher. Right up until…

She pushed through a door and poked her nose though. The scent of the jungle washed past him, carrying the scent of the raptress with it. His eyes couldn’t help but drift down again. Peering at the hint of slit under her tail. Lips glistening with her lingering excitement and a bit of his seed. Plump, lovely, and oh how he longed to have them pressed to his face again.

They could do that soon enough. Other matters tugged at his attention now. They’d talked about what to do on the way here. Finally settling on the idea of her keeping him hidden, bringing supplies as needed. All while keeping him company of course.

Atzi waved at him and pushed through the door. Ellis followed and found himself at the summit of the temple. Breath caught in his chest as he looked out over the jungle. “No wonder we couldn’t see it,” he breathed out. The jungle had all but consumed the temple. Making it look like little more than a mountain. Yet from the top, not even the trees could block his view. It wasn’t the view that drew him in though. It was the temple chamber itself.

It was every bit as preserved as the rest of the temple. Rich murals showing off rituals, history, and at the center of it all was a eh?cac?zcatl. A cut conch shell worn by the god Quetzalcoatl himself, also called the Wind Breastplate.

“Wow…” he found himself drawn towards it. Eyes dancing across the wonderful spiral and glistening insides. It caught the light from his torch. Seemingly amplifying it and casting it back at him. A rainbow of colors swirled inside. It called to him like a beacon. Fingers itched as he stepped forward, staring at it. Barely even noticing Atzi beside him. The raptor matching him step for step.

Almost as one they reached towards the shell. Wind raced up the temple, blasting them with enough force to make the pair stumble. Ellis dropping his light as his fingers brushed the eh?cac?zcatl.

Flash! Crack!

It was like the world’s brightest flash went off before him. Thunder filled his senses, deafening Ellis as it threw him back. He tried to cry out as the light consumed him. Yet… it didn’t burn. Didn’t hurt. It felt strangely comforting. Warm. Welcoming. It was as if he were being welcomed home after a long journey.

Then it was over.

Light faded too quick, leaving Ellis on the stone floor. He blinked against the suddenly brighter sky and groaned quietly. “Atzi?” he tried to call out, but his tongue felt strange. Like it was too long and thick. Had lightning struck them? They were certainly high up, but there wasn’t a storm. He supposed stranger things had happened.

“Eerrmph…” the groan came from behind him. Ellis tried to turn and look but his body felt strange. Heavier than he should, somewhat unweidly. He tried to remember what to do in case of a lightning strike. Not exactly something covered in normal first aid. He did feel warm though. Strangely warm. Especially since the warmth was focused somewhere around his crotch.

“Hrrrrff,” he grunted in agreement. Blinking away the spots that filled his vision. The flash must have screwed with his eyes, cause it looked like he had something gray sprouting from his face. Long and gray and… that couldn’t be his hand could it? Clawed with only a couple fingers and a thumb.

With great effort, he managed to lift his head and look around. Well… something was wrong. He didn’t remember being naked.

Certainly didn’t remember being a raptor.

Ellis blinked dumbly at himself. Every thought just circling around, I am a raptor? Before trying to rip away. Only to get pulled back into that single whirling thought.

A low groan, then the sound of someone trying to get up only to fall over. “Haaaa...hoo…” Ellis blinked and rolled his head around. There was his body, yet it looked slightly different. He blinked, eyes fighting to focus as his too-human mind fought what the body knew to do. He… well his body sat up with a frown. Mouth working as strange, guttural noises came out. His body tried to stand again, wobbled, then fell forward to land across his flank.

The snort human nose bumped his new, longer snout. Brown eyes blinked in confusion, “Hoowww…” the word came out struggled, “Dooo you…” tongue worked against the different teeth in the shorter mouth. “Stand up,” the words came slowly, but worked themselves out eventually. “Without a tail?”

He knew the voice. Ellis had heard it in voice recordings countless times, but the tone, the cadence…

Muzzle wrinkled as his tongue rolled against sharp teeth. “Aaaa…” the noise was easier, though the next part took some work. “Atttzzzzi?”

It was weird, watching his own face twist into her grin. That wide, toothy grin as eyes lit up. “Yep.” The human started to sit up again, but then just slumped against Ellis’ new, raptor flank. “Takes a bit out of ya, doesn’t it?”

Ellis rolled his head and groaned, “Wrrrrrhhhhat happened?”

Atzi leaned heavily into his flank and blinked. “Had heard of it.” Her voice was coming smoother now, eyes starting to focus a bit more. “It is,” she uttered a word he didn’t know. “A…” nose wrinkled as she tried to find the word, “change of perspective.”

Both hands came down to his hips as Atzi sat up and looked around. “Wow, it is dark out here, isn’t it?” Ellis tried to look where she was and realized…

It was bright.

Or at least he could see the available light better. That’s why his… Atzi’s face had looked different! Could see so much more of it, not to mention… it looked kinda like when he used the UV camera. So she could see a bit more like birds. Well… he could. Though was this permanent? Would he be stuck in her body for an hour? A day? Longer?

The questions were whirling around in his mind. So much that he didn’t notice Atzi talking. “Ugh, can’t really see much. Though your smell…” she sniffed and licked her lips, “and taste…” Atzi’s eyes widened a bit, “And… what is this?” She… well he now after the Swap, leaned a bit harder against Ellis-raptor. There was a strange tightness in his pants, silly things. Though she understood why he, and some of the other tribe members wore clothes. What with their softer skin and dangling parts.

Right now one of the dangling parts wasn’t hanging so much. Starting to get uncomfortable. Atzi shifted against Ellis, grumbling as he worked the belt and pants open. Certainly easier with the more agile human fingers. Where he’d fumbled and fiddled in his raptor body, Atzi quickly got his pants open. A breathy sigh broke from the newly swapped human as his cock sprang free to lay on his belly.

Which lead to curiosity. Ellis had enjoyed getting it rubbed. He reached down to stroke and shivered at the feel of it. “Oh…” then feel the head, “Oooh!” came the exclamation.

As he stroked his cock, Atzi’s mind drifted back to what had gotten him excited. The taste of pussy juices that lingered on his lips. On the hike, he’d noticed Ellis licking his lips and staring a lot. Those looks, paired with her own excitement, had lead to the trek taking longer. Now? Well, change of perspective was a good thing. Still wasn’t used to standing up, but didn’t have to. Not with Ellis laying on his… her side. Though the raptor was looking distracted, staring into the middle distance. After all they’d been through, surely Ellis wouldn’t mind if he just crawled over her and…

Ellis felt Atzi shift, but dismissed it. Probably trying to get used to standing again. His mind was whirling and racing. Trying to pick out all the differences in their bodies. Vision was obvious. Hearing was a bit worse for sure. Touch felt about the same. Scent…

He turned his head and sniffed, eyes narrowing. Could pick up all sorts of things now. Green, earthy, rich, musky. His human nose had just scratched the surface of what was out there. He narrowed his eyes and sniffed, trying to focus. He could smell so much now. The scent of everything overwhelmed him. He picked out a scent, something nearby. Salty, more than a little musky, but with that underlying hint of chemicals. Was he smelling himself? At least his body? Ellis focused on that and sniffed a bit more. There was something. Oddly familiar yet he couldn’t quite place it.

Then something rasped on his hip and the raptor shuddered. Awareness started to come back, head turning to where Atzi was kneeling. Before he could look at the swapped-raptor, Atzi dug her nails into Ellis’ hip and gave a hard scratch.

“Ahh!” he couldn’t help but cry out as nails dug into his hip. It sent shivers of raw pleasure through his body. The electric jolts shooting up his hip and through his body. Shuddering through his prone form. He felt his feathers stand on end before the jolt reversed and surged down his body. Every ounce of that raw, breath-taking pleasure focused on his groin. The idle warmth there surging up and rendering him speechless. Atzi kept scratching, each scrape of nails on Ellis’ hide sent another wave through his body. Soon enough, he was squirming, something warm and wet trickling down his thigh. It was hard to breath, harder to see. Lights danced before his eyes as his head rolled.

Instinct had his tail lifting, muscles shifting and pulling it up. Without a thought, the raptor shifted on the stone floor. Ellis found himself half-kneeling, tail pressed to Atzi’s body. He felt himself distantly aware of the similarity in his pose and the standing posture that Atzi had…

Squelch.

Eyes snapped wide as something pushed into him. Logically, he knew that Atzi was pushing her… his cock into his… her… body? Oh this was confusing. Ellis could barely think, let alone keep track of who was what gender. All he knew was that he was in a female raptor’s body, and he was being fucked.

“Ahh,” Atzi panted as he leaned forward, “this feels…” the words fell from him as he leaned over Ellis. The raptor groaned, biting her lip as she shivered. Walls clenched around the cock as it pushed deeper. This was unlike anything she’d experienced before. There had been some experimentation before. Buying and using cheap toys, a couple flings in college, but this? It felt like she was on fire.

Each thrust drove an animalistic grunt from the raptor. Atzi knew her… his body far better than Ellis did. Nails found the right places to scratch. Feathers were tugged and hips smacked. He lost track of everything. All that existed was the pleasure. Lights danced and flashed behind his eyes as the raptor arched. Eyes rolling back as her form shook. Her body trembled as she had her first ever orgasm as a female. The intensity of it it drove a barking call from the raptress.

“Oh… Ah!” Atzi’s noise of surprise, then pleasure cut through her own haze. Ellis felt his body thump off hers, then warmth. She could just feel the twitching of his cock and the warmth filling her. Mingling with that warmth that lingered from earlier. Ellis’ breath caught as she felt the warmth. Shocked at just how well she could feel it pooling in her. Waiting. Then, as Atzi pulled out, some followed. A shiver raced through the raptor as the seed dripped from her freshly fucked slit and oozed down her thigh.

Atzi tried to catch his breath, “Wow,” the new human grinned. “That was certainly something else. No wonder you couldn’t go as much as I’d wanted,” he barked a laugh and brought his hand down on Ellis’ flank.

Gray cheeks went red-hot at the crack, “Atzi!” Ellis hissed, trying to get her… his… fuck guess it was her? Keep it simple, yes Ellis was a he, always had been, but the body was female. However, there had always been the odd little mood… So female worked for now. Ellis tried to get her mind off that burning ache. That rolling need that burned through her lower half. It had been a slow, steady itch. A need that hovered on the edge of her awareness. Now that she’d been fucked, it was a steady, roiling flame. Stoked by Atzi’s wood and coaxed into a roaring fire.

She took a shivering breath and shook her head, “How long does this last?”

Atzi leaned against the raptorial flank, “My… I mean your…” his fingers dipped to tease the lips.

Ellis nearly leapt to his feet. Only Atzi’s weight and her own unfamiliarity with the body kept it to a jerk, “No! Yes… First thing’s first, how long are you going to be in my body?”

It was strange to watch her own human form blink in a now familiar way. That wide-eyed, slow motion that she’d come to associate with the raptor. The swapped raptor tilting his head one way then the other as he thought. After a good minute of thinking, he shrugged, “Dunno.”

“You don’t know?’

It was really hard to focus with Atzi’s fingers teasing her slit. The raptor clawed at the ground, fighting the urge to buck into the fingers and flag her tail. Atzi was either oblivious to Ellis’ growing distress or didn’t care, “Well, could check the elder’s scrolls. They’re written in a funny language, like…” Atzi squinted and looked around, “How do you manage with these eyes?!”

“I use the flashlight. There,” Ellis nodded at it.

“Oh yeah,” Atzi grabbed and swept the light around. “Looks like those.” He pointed.

Ellis could see the script before the light was on it. Now that they were lit up, oh it was so easy to tell what they were. She breathed a sigh of relief. “I can read that if you can get me to the scrolls.”

Atzi nodded and leapt to his feet, “Can do… whoa!”

And tripped over his own pants. “Stupid… things!” he dropped and rolled, fighting with them. Ellis sighed and tried to get up to help. Standing and balancing was another task that she wasn’t quite ready for. Had to lean a lot further forward with that tail. It felt like she was always on the verge of falling over, but didn’t. That thick, sturdy limb easily counter-balancing her head and torso.

While she was busy getting upright, Atzi had found the source of his problem. Those boots. He yanked at the strings and freed his feet. Didn’t know why Ellis insisted on wearing those either. Pants and underwear came next, getting kicked away. Much better. Even with the dangling parts, he felt far better without any pants on. Same for that pack that was on his shoulders and weighing him down.

Ellis watched Atzi strip half-naked, started to say something, then just sighed. She could always come back for her things later.

With just the shirt left, Atzi took lead. Boldly wielding the flashlight to illuminate the path. Ellis did his best to follow, wobbling and staggering. The odd balance still throwing her off. Not to mention the feel of that large, curved talon tapping and catching on stone. Not that Atzi was in any better shape. He quickly found out why Ellis wore boots. His feet weren’t quite as hard as he was used to. Thankfully, once they were inside, the worn stone was relatively gentle.

Back down the paths. Ellis looking in awe at the markings he’d missed before. Bits of dye that had been rubbed into the walls and floors. Things he’d missed before were now vibrant with her new eyes. Ahead, Atzi was grumbling some, sweeping the light around for the same markers she picked easily. Thankfully, he knew the way well enough. It was just annoying how some of the familiar paths were nearly hidden. Stupid human eyes. Though the ears were great. Could hear all sorts of things when he focused. Ellis’ staggering steps. Drip of water ahead. The group of guards coming up the path.

Wait.

“This way!” he hissed and dove for a wall. Going face-first into stone as he missed an alcove he was certain was there. Ellis pulled up short, then stiffened as her nose picked up new scents. Sharp aromas that she didn’t recognize. She ducked and tried to help Atzi to his feet. If they were fast, they could get into the alcove on the other side of the hall.

They were not fast.

Several shapes, human and raptor, rounded the corner and came up short. The humans carried old, brass lamps, which they held aloft to illuminate the scene before them. A familiar gray raptor with bluish feathers stood, hunched over a half-naked stranger. The two fumbling as they tried to get to their feet. Both frozen, mid-tussle as they stared at the new group.

“Atzi?” the lead raptor chuffed, “What is this?” It stepped forward. The sharper scent identifying him as male. The deep black hide and reds and greens of his feathers that much more vibrant in Ellis’ eyes.

Before Ellis could try to bluff his way through it, the human under her grinned. “Um… Might have found a friend. Showed the temple, and did,” there was that word again. Xitlakuepali. Her Nahutal was rusty, but with context, Ellis was certain that it was Change. Fitting, if simple, term for what happened.

The lead raptor sighed, rolled his eyes, and turned to mutter something to the others. It was something that got a laugh, but made Atzi’s cheeks flare hot. “Take him to the elders. Let them know we have a new Pack member as well.” The guards swept in and helped Atzi to his feet. Readily helping escort him down the hall. Though a few were whispering and giggling at him, their hands roaming under Atzi’s clothes to examine the new body.

Alone, the leader turned to Ellis. His gaze swept over her face slowly. Those piercing, amber eyes made her squirm. After a second, he nodded his head, “I am Itztli. Guard Leader of the Feathered.”

Ellis tried to mimic that nodding bow, “Um… Ellis. I am an archaeologist. Was out at a dig west of here, found a marker. Then found Atzi and…” she waved down at her body. Watching as the raptor moved up closer. “Not in trouble am I?”

His laugh puffed against her neck, “No, but the Elders will decide what to do.” The raptor sniffed, leaning in to bump his muzzle to Ellis’ neck. “Mmm… how are you feeling?”

Cheeks went warm as the male moved in. Ellis’ body happily responding by growing more excited. She wanted to say Hot, but felt like that would be inappropriate. As would asking him other questions. However, there was a new scent in the air. Something sharper, decidedly more musky. “Um, well it’s all a little shocking. I jussssSST!”

Words cut off into a hiss as his talons found her haunch. Where human nails had rasped, his dug and scraped. Ellis’ eyes rolled back as her insides clenched. The raptor barely able to get out a gasp as her tail hitched. The warmth surging higher as his talons wandered over her flank and hips.

“Don’t worry,” the low rumble shook across Ellis. Itztli moving alongside her, his flank touching hers. Her gaze dropped as he kept working, catching sight of the male’s hardening manhood. Pointed with several pronounced ridges along his belly, and a thick base. It throbbed, deep red against the gray of his underside. “I’ll be gentle your first time with a,” he uttered a hissed word. His powerful form sliding up behind hers, “I am a bit large though so…”

Ellis gasped as the raptor easily mounted and drove into her. Bright lights danced before her eyes as the female shuddered under him. A barest thought danced through her mind. Itztli meant Obsidian Knife. Much as he stretched her, he should have been called Macuahuitl.

Her head rolled, catching the barest glimpse of a light ahead. Several shadowy shapes, and a familiar voice. Seems that Itztli wasn’t the only one sampling the newcomer…

Whatever thoughts she had were lost as his teeth found her neck. “Been wanting this for a long time…” he hissed and bit again, pulling himself sharply against her. Ellis couldn’t even cry out as he made her peak. His ridges pulling against her insides. Feeling unlike anything she’d ever dreamt of. It was all she could do just to keep standing as the male’s weight came to rest on her haunch. The steady crack of his hips off hers matched only by the pleasured calls further down the tunnel.

“And that,” Ellis purred at the wide-eyed hatchlings, “Is how I came to be a Storyteller for the Pack.” Of course, her story was somewhat edited, safer for them. A few embellishments added as well. No good storyteller would just tell the straight truth after all. Just keep enough of it in.

Wide eyes blinked, “Is that true?” Huitzilin trilled at her.

“OF course it is, my little hummingbird.”

“Can’t be,” puffed the darker Metztli, “all magic!”

Huitzilin turned on his sibling, “Magic is real!”

Ellis rolled her eyes and smirked as they argued back and forth, laying her head on her foreclaws and watching. Her gaze drifted across at the pack that lounged about the main room. A blush crept across her cheek as she saw Cuicati give Atzi a kiss, the lady’s hand resting on her sizable belly. About seven months along now. She watched Atzi wander off to join the other hunters. Her attention roaming to look at Ellis, “What stories are we weaving now, Sasanilli?”

Sasanilli, her new name. Just as Cuicati had once been Susan, but chose a new name after her Xitlakuepali with Othli. “Ones that rile up the young ones it seems.”

Cuicati settled down beside the raptor with a sigh, “Well, it is all true, little ones. Though I wonder who had it harder.” She smirked, “Your mother having once been a male, or me, with;” she ran a hand over her belly. “Oh… that’s a kick. Do you want to feel?”

The hatchlings forgot their squabble and came rushing over to feel. Each one a different color and pattern. Four in her first, though two obviously belonged to Itzli. “Might have had it easier with the eggs.”

“Certainly had more fun,” Cuicati grinned, “heard you howling for many nights.” She poked Ellis’ side, “A dozen of our best xitlaami and only four eggs? Most would have a dozen from just four of them.”

Now that made her cheeks burn red hot, “Enough!” she hissed, “We can tell them about that when they’re older.”
