The First Night Out

NOTE: This story begins the morning after Episode 1 ended.

At around 8 AM the next morning, Duke woke up in his bedroom with his hands wrapped tightly around one of his pillows. He had been dreaming about Danielle the previous night, having various thoughts about her from romantic ones to sexual ones...and Duke found that out rather quickly when he noticed that the pillow he held had a warm and sticky spot down around where his sheath was. Even though Duke wore boxers to sleep, his seed managed to spurt through the boxers, covering them and the pillow in a glaze of his cream.

He threw the covers off the bed and sat up, surprised by this development. "No...I can't be thinking about Danielle like this. What would she say if she knew I was having sex dreams about her? Besides, she's not a Kapernian, I doubt that she'd understand how we felt about sex right now", Duke thought to himself, feeling embarrassed about what he had done in his sleep. He liked Danielle, he hoped that they'd be able to become a couple together and maybe she'd let him fulfill some of his pent-up sexual tensions with her someday. However, he didn't feel that it was natural to behave like this towards a human female. He figured that he needed some help and he needed it soon. Fortunately, Duke had a place to go to get it.

After a shower and tossing his semen-soaked pillow and boxers in the wash machine and getting dressed, Duke made a drive from Marino Bay up to the city of Vixen Hill, which was known as the wedding capital of Kapernia. Vixen Hill had many attractions in and near town that catered to close couples, married couples, and newlyweds. Vixen Hill was also home to something called the "Heartthrob Hotel", which was one of many sex clubs located throughout Kapernia. Generally speaking, Kapernians were a horny race, they enjoyed having sex on a somewhat regular basis and clubs like the "Heartthrob Hotel" gave Kapernians an outlet to satisfy their more primal urges. This is where Duke headed to when he got into town, but he wasn't looking for sex, he was looking for someone he knew he could talk to about situations like this. Someone who had experience with dating humans in the past and could give him advice on how to keep his thoughts about Danielle from getting out of control. That someone was his littermate, Ramona.

Ramona started working at the Heartthrob Hotel when she was in college. At first, it was just so she could have extra money to live while attending school. However, after several weeks of averaging close to 1,000 UIC Dollars per week, Ramona figured that there was a lot of money to be had by serving as a legal prostitute. She decided to quit school and focus on serving the needs of horny Kapernian and human males whenever they needed some relief. Fortunately, Ramona was not busy. She always took at least one day off from servicing her clients per week, and Duke called ahead to make sure she wasn't busy.

Ramona, having a membership at a local gym, had an athletic appearance. She was reasonably trim and well-toned, with "C-cup" breasts and decent curves. Her eyes were the same shade of green as her brother's and she had short, dark brown hair that was done up in a bun in the back. When it came to sex, Ramona was usually dominant with most of her clients, preferring to be on top of them, but would let canid males have sex with her doggy-style if she liked them enough.

Normally, when one of the workers at the hotel took a personal day, they would be inaccessible to anyone who walked into the hotel lobby. However, exceptions were granted towards spouses and known family members, so Duke was able to visit his sister in her room. Each worker at the hotel received room and board from the hotel owners, most worked in what equated to single bedroom apartments, though the more popular workers got to stay in more spacious and elegant rooms on the top floor of the building (and charged higher fees for their services). Each worker was charged rent to pay for their room and all utilities associated with the room. Plus, after the cost of rent, each worker also had to pay an additional 10% of their net weekly earnings to the hotel to pay for general housekeeping, maintenance, and other stuff.

Ramona was considered to be a mid-level worker, and was placed on the 4th floor of the seven-story hotel. As such, her service fees were charged by night, whereas workers on the first and second floor of the hotel could charge by the hour. Fortunately for her, Ramona didn't seem to have any problem getting customers, her past customers liked Ramona and word of mouth spread to any horny male who wanted to seek her services. For today though, Ramona wasn't in much of a mood for sex. She was just sitting down in her living room, watching a little bit of TV while wearing an all black t-shirt, and gray sweatpants. This was her day to relax, she had spent the night with five different clients this week and needed a break.

As Ramona was getting comfortable, watching daytime television on KVIC-TV, her "hot line" phone rang. The "hot line" phone was linked directly to the main lobby down below. It was put in so that workers on the middle and upper floors knew that a client was on their way to meet them. When Ramona heard her phone ring, at first she growled, feeling annoyed that she was being disturbed on her day off, but then got up and went over to the phone, picking it up and answering it.

"I could've sworn that I told you that I didn't want to see anyone today", Ramona grumbled, thinking that it was a client wanting sex from her.

The male fox at the front desk knew that Ramona was 'off-limits' today, but also knew that Duke was her brother and had requested to speak with her. "I'm sorry to bother you, Ramona. However, your brother is down here in the lobby. He says that he wants to meet you and discuss something important", the male fox answered back.

Ramona knew that Duke was on the way over and changed her tune. "Well, in that case, I'll make an exception...send him on up", Ramona answered in a calmer tone before the fox receptionist hung up the phone.

"Go on up, Duke. Your sister is expecting you", the receptionist calmly told Duke as he used the "family pass" he received from his sister to access the elevator up to the 4th floor. Each worker was given three family passes to give out to family members or their spouse. The family pass any adult members of the family admittance into Heartthrob Hotel free of charge. It also granted discounts on stays with other workers at the hotel if they so desired. In the past, Duke did take advantage of this, but he mostly just used the pass to see his sister.

Duke went up the fourth floor and walked about halfway down the main corridor, before reaching Room 425. On each doorway, there was a sign that gave a bit of information about the worker that resided in that room. Ramona's sign read as follows..."Name: Ramona, Sex: Female, Preference: Males, Race: Canid (Rottweiler)". Then, just below the sign, there was a strip of LED lights that indicated whether or not a worker was with a client. A green light would mean that the worker was free for any client willing to pay the fee to choose, a red light meant that the worker already had a client and was unavailable. At present, Ramona's strip was showing yellow...which meant that she was inaccessible to clients, but those who knew her personally would be allowed access, though they had to knock on the door first.

Duke had been through this several times before and knocked on the door, waiting for several seconds before Ramona came to the door and opened it up. Ramona was unusually tall for a female. Standing at just over 6 feet tall, she was easily able to reach up to wrap her arms around Duke and hold him tightly. The two siblings then nuzzled before Ramona allowed Duke to enter the room. The inside of Ramona's room consisted of four separate areas...a kitchen and dining room area, a bathroom, the living room, and Ramona's bedroom. Most of the room was like that of a normal apartment, but the bedroom was designed to be more inviting to her clients, with a heart-shaped bed, a red and white color scheme with dimmable rose-colored lighting on the ceiling in addition to the standard lighting. But, since Ramona wasn't interested in sex at that moment, she didn't use her 'seductive' lighting and had no intention of going into the bedroom. Instead, Ramona brought her brother into the living room where they sat down on the couch and began to talk. "So, what brings you here today?", Ramona asked her brother calmly and curiously.

Duke looked at his sister and felt a little bit sheepish. It had been a while since he had been on a date and he wasn't sure how his sister would react to the news. "Well...I sort of found a new girlfriend last night", Duke told his sister while rubbing the back of his neck with one of his hands, feeling a bit nervous.

When Ramona heard this, her eyes lit up and she seemed excited. "Really? That's great! I've been wondering when you were going to find someone to date!", Ramona cheerfully exclaimed before putting her arm around her brother and holding him tight. "I'm sure Mom and Dad will be excited to hear about this too", she added as Duke blushed a bit and felt nervous about telling their parents...especially considering that he and Danielle hadn't been on an official date yet.

"Let's just wait on telling them about this, OK? I have a date with her tonight and I want to see how things go for a bit before I introduce her to the family", Duke commented calmly.

Ramona nuzzled against her brother a little and murred. "Alright...I won't say anything to Mom and Dad about this", Ramona answered back before getting a bit curious to know more about Duke's new girlfriend. "By the way, what is she like? Is she another fox, like your last girlfriend was...or is she a wolf, like your first one?", Ramona asked, thinking back to some of Duke's past girlfriends. She knew that Duke had a thing for foxes and wolves and figured that his girlfriend must be one.

"Well, sis...that's kind of why I wanted to talk to you in the first place", Duke mentioned as Ramona looked at him curious as they sat on the couch. "You see, she's not a fox or a wolf, she's human...an Earth-born human", Duke began to explain to his sister. Immediately, Ramona's ears perked up curiously as she was surprised to learn that he was dating a human female. However, at the same time, she understood why he had come to visit her.

"I see...and I'm guessing that you want me to give you some advice on how to date a human", Ramona answered in a curious and calm manner as Duke kept blushing and felt shy.

"Well, yeah...there is that. However, there's something else that I need to know how to do", Duke told his sister before feeling sheepish again. "I like Danielle and I hope that we can make our relationship work. The problem is, whenever I think about her, I feel...", Duke started to explain as Ramona looked at her brother and put her hand on one of his.

"Yes? What is it?", Ramona soon asked, wondering what was on her brother's mind.

Duke started to feel a bit sweaty and nervous. He wasn't sure if he wanted to tell Ramona how he felt about Danielle. He figured she might laugh at him or think that he was a pervert. Still, he was able to conjure up enough courage to tell his sister what was on his mind. "Well, last night, I had dreams about Danielle...dreams that involved sex that got me so worked up that when I woke up this morning, I found that I had...you know", Duke sheepishly explained while shaking a bit, which caused Ramona to giggle briefly. She knew exactly what he was getting at and couldn't help finding his situation a bit humorous.

When he saw his sister's reaction, Duke covered his face with both of his hands and felt embarrassed. Ramona soon noticed this and stopped giggling, giving Duke a lick on the cheek and then nuzzling him gently. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself", Ramona told her brother in a calm manner, wanting to be helpful to her littermate. "Anyway, if I'm correct in guessing this, I'm assuming that you're worried that she'll think that you're only interested in sex, am I right?", she asked curiously as Duke uncovered his face and nodded.

"What am I going to do about this, Sis? I like Danielle and I hope that she will let me have a chance to be intimate with her at some point in the future, but we just met, and I want her to see me as I really am", Duke explained to Ramona as she continued to nuzzle against him gently. "You know what it's like to date a human...how did you cope with your urges when you were dating him?", he asked curiously.

This time, Ramona was the one who blushed and felt a bit shy. "Well, I didn't really have that problem. He was more than eager to play with me and we did it quite a bit together. I honestly thought that he was going to be my husband and that we were going to make some pups of our own together...that is, until his accident", Ramona mentioned, sighing a bit at the end with a tear in her eye. She lost her boyfriend to some tragic accident a couple years back and hadn't been out on a date since then. "Anyway, you have that family pass I gave you, right? You could always spend some time at the Heartthrob Hotel and have your itch scratched so you can keep your thoughts about your girlfriend pure. I mean, if she's been on Kapernia for a while, she probably knows that we get horny very easily and would understand if you wanted to have sex with other females just to release your tensions", Ramona suggested.

Duke listened to his sister's comment and shook his head. "I don't know...I'd much rather have Danielle all to myself, and I think she'd appreciate it if I spent my time and energy on her", Duke replied, wanting to do things the honest way.

Ramona saw what Duke was getting at and nodded. "Well, it's up to you. I can't really give you any additional help here, you'll need to figure it out on your own", Ramona answered calmly as Duke stood up and stretched briefly after getting up from the couch.

"OK...well...thanks for listening, Sis...you've given me a lot to think about", Duke commented as he felt ready to leave to prepare for his date with Danielle that evening. He was still a bit unsure about how he was going to deal with his horniness around Danielle, but he also thought that it was possible that she would understand how he felt. The only thing he felt like he could do was go out on the date and see how things turned out.

Meanwhile, back in Marino Bay, Danielle was out and about, getting ready for her date that evening. It was the first time she had gone out on a date with a Kapernian in almost a year, and she wanted to make sure that she looked her best for Duke. As she got her hair done, had a manicure, and got a new black dress to wear that evening, Danielle started to wonder what going out with Duke would be like. He seemed like a sincere male when they met, and it certainly seemed as if he was interested in her on more of a personal level. At the same time though, this wasn't the first time she felt this way about a Kapernian. The last male she dated (a male fox) seemed to behave in a sincere manner at first, but it turned out that he was just trying to get into her panties and she broke off the relationship.

Danielle didn't want this to happen again. If she was going to consider Duke to be her boyfriend, she wanted to know for sure that he thought about more than just what was underneath her panties. If things worked out well enough, Danielle would consider having sex with Duke if he wanted to, but it wouldn't be until she was comfortable enough with him to do so. Besides, she had never taken a knotted male in her vagina before, she'd have to get some practice with a canid-style dildo before trying the real thing.

For now, Danielle wasn't really thinking too much about sex. She just wanted to make sure that Duke was right for her before taking things more seriously. So, after getting her hair and nails done, and getting her new dress, Danielle went home and had a nice long bath in her tub, relaxing in the tub with a cherry blossom "bath bomb" in the water, making the whole bathroom smell like a grove of cherry blossom trees in full bloom. Danielle enjoyed having a nice soak in the tub whenever she wanted to relax, feeling the warm water on her skin and having a supply of "bath bombs" of various scents in her linen cabinet. She normally did this on days where she needed to unwind from work, but she felt like doing it today because she wanted to.

While Danielle was in the tub, across the street, Duke returned home from his trip to Vixen Hill. He didn't feel any closer to solving the problem he was facing involving his horniness, he just hoped that if he did get aroused when they went out on their date that she'd understand how he felt. He wasn't going to force anything on Danielle, if she wanted to have sex with him, he'd be more than happy to accommodate that. However, he figured it would be a while before that would happen, so he just had to do his best to fight his urges, or find another outlet to satisfy them until Danielle was ready.

For now, though, Duke made his way into his bathroom to get washed up for the date, getting into his shower and making his black and brown Rottweiler fur look all shiny and clean. Unlike Danielle, Duke's fur made things difficult for him to use a towel to dry off after the shower, even though his fur coat was not as thick as that of the average Kapernian. So, instead of using a towel, Duke had to stand underneath a device known as a "Turbo Dryer", which was a hot air fan attached to his ceiling that worked in much the same way as those hot air hand dryers worked in bathrooms...only being much more effective. The dryer produced a gust of hurricane-force winds that blew across Duke's body, quickly evaporating the water that was left on his fur and leaving it dry. Once he was sure his fur was completely dry, Duke went into his bedroom and went through his wardrobe, trying to figure out something to wear.

This was the first date Duke had been on in a while, and he wanted to impress Danielle. However, he didn't really have anything in the way of formal clothing to wear. The closest thing he had to formal dress wear was his non-Active Duty "Elite Guard" uniform. The uniform consisted of a navy blue 'coat' with his Elite Guard badge and navy-blue pants with a white stripe along each leg. Because he was a rookie officer, Duke didn't have any medals or merits to his credit, at least not yet. However, as he gained in ranks, he would earn them, as well as special adornments to his non-Active Duty uniform.

Once Duke was dressed and ready for his date with Danielle, he waited until 6 PM came around, taking a little bit of time to think about where exactly he would take Danielle on their date. The boardwalk at Marino Bay had several high-class restaurants that catered to the needs of all different types of Kapernian (and humans). Some catered to more carnivorous types, others catered to vegetarians, and some offered a wide variety of food to satisfy both. Like other canids, Duke was primarily carnivorous, but he didn't mind dating a vegetarian, just as long as Danielle didn't try to force it upon him, he'd be willing to work around it if that were the case. To be on the safe side, Duke decided it was best to choose a place that catered to everyone, so he made a reservation at "Little Italy"...an Italian-themed restaurant that was owned by Earth-born humans that immigrated from Italy many decades earlier. Then, once the reservation had been made, Duke left his house and crossed the street to meet Danielle.

Inside her living room, Danielle was ready for her date, having put on her new dress and cleaned up. She was cautiously optimistic about Duke and hoped that the date would go well. If it did, maybe she would be more willing to be more intimate with him in the not-too-distant future. Of course, if Danielle and Duke became a serious couple, there would be the matter of introducing Duke to her family, a family that was still on Earth and had some reservations about Danielle being on Kapernia...especially her father. However, this was still some time off and a lot would have to happen before she'd even consider doing this.

She continued to wait as the clock on her living room wall chimed at 6 PM on the nose, just as she heard a knock on her front door. Curiously, she went to the door and opened it up, seeing Duke in his uniform standing on her front porch. "Good evening, Danielle...are you ready?", Duke asked in a polite manner, extending his hand towards her. She took his hand and went with Duke to his car, getting inside of it as he made the 15-minute drive from their neighborhood to the beachfront part of town.

The Marino Bay boardwalk extended along about a two-mile stretch of beach facing The Great Ocean on the eastern side of Mason Island. In addition to having several restaurants, the boardwalk was also home to several night clubs, as well as "The Midway at Marino Bay" (which featured several carnival-type rides and games). Duke didn't know what Danielle would like to do at the boardwalk, so he decided that they'd have dinner first and then do whatever she wanted afterwards. "Little Italy" was located about halfway down the boardwalk, and Duke parked his car in the lot at the far-northern end. Fortunately, the boardwalk featured Pedi-taxi service in where Duke and Danielle could be taken anywhere along the boardwalk via bike instead of walking there.

Duke was able to hail a Pedi-taxi driver and paid the male rabbit 10 UIC Dollars so that he and Danielle could take the ride. "I wish I could've found a parking spot towards the middle of the boardwalk, so we wouldn't have to do this. However, the boardwalk is usually busy on a Saturday night, especially when the weather is warm and clear", Duke explained to Danielle as they rode in the Pedi-taxi together.

Danielle noticed that there were hundreds, if not thousands, of Kapernians and a handful of humans in the area and understood what Duke was getting at. "It's alright, Duke. It's not your fault that this place is crowded", she assured him while their driver was making his way slowly down the boardwalk, doing his best to avoid traffic and other Pedi-taxis. It took about 10 minutes for them to arrive at "Little Italy" when Duke gave their driver an additional 5 UIC dollars for his hassle. The male rabbit appreciated the tip and soon left to find another customer, leaving the couple to their dinner date.

When Duke made the reservation, he asked if he could get a table out on the patio, which was just yards away from the waters of the Great Ocean. Fortunately, there were enough tables in the patio area that were open, so they were able to sit down outdoors for dinner. When the waiter came to ask for their order, Danielle ordered the chicken parmesan while Duke had the three-meat lasagna. Along with their orders, they received unlimited garlic breadsticks and salad from the salad bar if they wanted. It would take a little bit of time for the orders to be filled, which would give Duke and Danielle a bit of time to talk. Duke figured that he should begin, since he hardly knew anything about Danielle and was curious to know more about her.

As the couple sat out on the patio, illuminated by the evening sun as it got ready to go down, Duke figured it was time to learn more about his date. "So...what compelled you to come to Kapernia in the first place?", Duke curiously asked as Danielle looked towards Duke while sipping on a glass of water.

She soon put the glass down and began to tell him about her past. Danielle's first encounter with a Kapernian happened when she was in high school. One of the students in her 10th grade biology class was a male collie and she happened to have a bit of a crush on him. It didn't matter to Danielle what he looked like on the outside, he was an athletic and friendly male, and one who she hoped to have as her boyfriend. She even offered to go on a date with him, which her father didn't take too kindly to. To him, he saw Kapernians as 'stupid animals' and he was hellbent on keeping his daughter from dating one.

However, Danielle knew better. He knew that Kapernians were just like humans when it came to their intelligence and were generally a lot nicer and less judgmental than humans were. This, combined with an opportunity she received after High School to go to college at the University of Mason Island-Mason City, led Danielle to flee Earth and start a new life in Kapernia, regardless of what her father would think.

Duke listened curiously to the conversation, before Danielle placed a hand on Duke's and looked straight at him. "I'm really sorry for the way I treated you when we first met. I was being narrow-minded like my father when I should've known better", Danielle commented as she thought about her father's reaction to how she told him about the male collie and saw a little bit of her father in how she initially behaved to Duke.

Duke held Danielle's hand and sighed. "Danielle...you're nothing like your father. If you were like him, you wouldn't have even come to Kapernia in the first place. The fact that you see us the same way as you would as members of your own kind tells me that you're a kind-hearted and open-minded individual", Duke mentioned. "Besides, you had a traumatic experience when you were younger. I can understand why you were so defensive around me at first", he added as Danielle smiled and blushed a little.

"I'm glad that you helped me get over my fear of Rottweilers, Duke. You seem quite friendly and supportive", Danielle told him happily as another thought went through her head. "In fact, I'm a bit surprised that someone like you didn't already have a girlfriend before we met", Danielle added, making Duke feel a bit shy about that.

"Well...you see...for a long time I didn't really seek out a mate of my own. My sister works at a place called the "Heartthrob Hotel" and she gave me a "family pass" that allowed me to visit there anytime I wanted to. "I didn't really give it much thought back then. I felt like I needed to satisfy my sexual urges, and used the pass whenever I needed it", Duke continued. "However, once I joined the Elite Guard, my thoughts started to change. I came to realize I didn't want to live alone all my life and just have sex with random females just to satisfy an urge. I wanted a mate and a family, I wanted to make my father and the rest of my family proud, so I cut down on going to the "Heartthrob Hotel" and started dating on my own. It's not always easy for me though. My natural biological urges still interfere with my thoughts at times and I have to fight them to keep my thoughts pure whenever I dated someone...usually, it didn't work", Duke admitted to Danielle while they sat together at the table. That was when Duke suddenly blushed deeply and turned his head away from Danielle for a moment.

"I don't know if I should be telling you this, but last night I sort of had thoughts about you. I felt really bad about it when I woke up this morning, thinking that I shouldn't be having dreams about you being my mate when we've hardly known each other. However, these damned hormones of mine keep driving me crazy. I don't know what I'm going to do about them", Duke commented, feeling sheepish about admitting his secret to Danielle.

Danielle shook her head and then let out a sigh. "Duke...I'm not ready for sex yet, with you or any other Kapernian. It's not that I wouldn't want to at some point, I just want to have more time to get to know you better before we take it to that level. I appreciate your honesty and I know it's not easy for you to hold back your feelings, but it's going to take some time", Danielle mentioned. She considered his tone to be sincere. It appeared as if Duke was speaking to her as a male who genuinely cared about Danielle beyond sex, but had trouble fighting his natural biological urges. That was when she got an idea about how she could help him with those.

"Duke...you said that you had a pass to the Heartthrob Hotel, right?", Danielle asked as she knew what it was from advertisements on TV. Duke looked back towards Danielle a little bit and nodded. "Well, why don't you just continue to visit there whenever you feel a sexual urge coming on. I won't mind if you keep doing it for a while...at least until I'm ready to start having sex with you. I just want to help you with your problem", Danielle suggested as Duke's ears perked up and he seemed a bit surprised.

"You mean...you don't mind it if I have sex with other females?", Duke asked curiously, not sounding overly eager since it was Danielle who he actually cared about.

"For a little while...I'll let you know when I feel like I'm ready to try it with you", Danielle commented just as the waiter came over to their table with their main courses, and the conversation was tabled so they could eat. The food at "Little Italy" was as good as it looked, tasting a lot like that you'd expect at a fancy Italian restaurant on Earth. They enjoyed their meal, had a little bit of dessert and then left the restaurant shortly after 8 PM, about the time when the sun was going down and it was starting to get dark.

As they made it back to the boardwalk, Duke was holding Danielle's hand as he looked to her curiously. "So...where do you want to go now? We could head on over to one of the night clubs if you'd like, or maybe the "Beachfront Matinee" for a movie, or if you'd like to have a little bit of fun, we could go down the boardwalk a bit to the "Midway at Marino Bay". Who knows, maybe I'll be able to win a prize for you playing the carnival games", Duke suggested to Danielle, wondering what she wanted to do now.

Danielle wasn't in much of a mood for movies or dancing, but she did find the carnival somewhat interesting. It had been years since she last went to an amusement park and she wondered what the Midway at Marino Bay was like. "The Midway sounds fine by me, Duke. Let's go there", Danielle answered a few moments later, still holding onto Duke's hand as they started to head down the boardwalk to the Midway. Fortunately, it didn't take long to get there from "Little Italy", it was only about 2 city blocks down from the restaurant, so they got there after just a couple minutes of walking.

The Midway extended along about a 6 block stretch of the Boardwalk. It was home to several different rides, such as the 150-foot-high Ferris Wheel, the hydrocoaster known as "Splashdown", and the magnetcoaster known as "Daredevil", in where at the top of its highest peak, it descends downward and then suddenly leaps upward over a 100-foot-long gap in the tracks, only to land safely on the track on the other side of the gap. It was the first magnetcoaster in all of Kapernia, and the first one to feature an intentionally placed gap between one end of a coaster's track and the other. There were safety concerns when the coaster was built, but they were addressed by putting emergency hoverpads on all the coaster cars that could activate if the riders were in danger of falling. Plus, the ground at the bottom of the gap was made of 4-foot-thick foam rubber padding, that would cushion any impact in case the hoverpads failed. It has been forty years since the ride has been built and there had yet to be a single accident on it.

In addition to the rides, there were a number of carnival games, pretty much all of them were like the ones found on Earth, so they were quite familiar with Danielle as they walked through the park. There was no admission fee, all the games and rides operated on a ticket system, where individuals could purchase strips of tickets to use in the Midway. Upon arriving at the ticket booth, Duke walked up to one of the cashiers and purchased 50 UIC Dollars' worth of tickets, which equated to 200 of them. He figured that between him and Danielle, 200 tickets should be more than enough to have a good time there.

Upon buying the tickets, he gave them to Danielle, so they could be put inside her purse for safe-keeping. They were going to be staying together at the Midway, so it made sense for her to carry them. "So...where should we go first? Do you want to take a ride on Daredevil? I guarantee you won't have anything like that back home on Earth!", Duke playfully asked Danielle as they stood close enough to the coaster to watch a train go down the big hill and then suddenly leap upward over the gap, flying 75 feet in the air with no track underneath before reconnecting to the track on the other side.

Danielle suddenly felt queasy after seeing this and shook her head. "I don't think I'm up for riding Daredevil. Maybe we could start with something a little tamer?", Danielle responded as she had visions of her plummeting to her doom if she rode Daredevil.

Duke understood and brought her towards the Ferris Wheel. "Say no more, my dear. We'll take a ride on the Ferris Wheel instead. That way, you and I can get a look at what the city looks like when it's all lit up at night", Duke suggested. Danielle liked the idea, even though she regularly went to Mason City, she never had a chance to see what it looked like from a distance. So, she agreed and the two of them got on the Ferris Wheel after Duke paid the 8-ticket fee for the two of them to ride (4 tickets each).

Once they were strapped in, the wheel began to turn, raising the couple upward into the evening sky. The cars on the wheel faced towards the west, which gave Danielle and Duke a view of the orange and red sky as the day was coming to an end with dark blue skies off to the east towards The Great Ocean. Also, just north of due west, the skyline of Mason City could be seen. Downtown Mason City was located about 20 miles from the Midway, but it wasn't hard to pick it out the largest city on Kapernia from that distance. Many of the skyscrapers (most over 1,000 feet tall, with a few over 2,000 feet tall) were lit up with yellow and white lights in the windows. Some of them had exterior lighting that gave the buildings a soft blue or white glow from a distance. One of the buildings, had a large illuminated globe of Kapernia on top of it that rotated slowly and changed colors from within thanks to a system of LED lights put on it.

When their car got to the top of the Ferris Wheel, it stopped for several moments, giving Danielle a chance to see all the lights and even get out her cell phone to take a picture of the city. "This was a really good idea, Duke. Thank you for suggesting this", Danielle told Duke in a polite tone, making his tail wag a bit while he touched her cheek with his hand gently.

"I figured that you would", Duke answered back in a soft manner as Danielle allowed him to touch her cheek. Then, after several moments, the wheel started to bring them back down, stopping at each car to let one group of passengers off before starting again. It took about a minute for the wheel to reach the bottom, letting Duke and Danielle off after the 4-minute long ride. By now, Danielle was becoming more comfortable around Duke. He seemed to be honest and he treated her with kindness and respect. Out of all the Kapernian males she had been with before, Duke was the first to display all three of these traits to Danielle, in her opinion.

From the Ferris Wheel, the couple went around the Midway to various other rides and attractions. They took a ride on the bumper cars, the merry-go-round, the "Disc Jockey" (a ride like the "Trabant"), and later they took a ride on "Splashdown". Duke also took his chance on some carnival games, trying to win a prize for his date. He tried the baseball toss first, but had no luck. Then, he decided to give the shooting gallery a try. Considering that he was trained to operate firearms by the Elite Guard, surely Duke could win something there. It cost 10 tickets to participate in the shooting gallery against 7 other contestants, but the winner was guaranteed their choice of prize. The goal of the shooting gallery was to shoot out the red star on a sheet of paper with BB's before anyone else could.

Danielle stood and watched as Duke sat down at his assigned station and waited for the signal to begin sounded. After a few seconds, the bell rung, and all eight participants controlled their machine gun-style BB guns, shooting at the stars. It didn't matter how it was done, all that mattered was that the star was completely shot out of the paper. So, Duke tried to shoot it out by making a circle around the star. However, after finishing a disappointing 5th in the competition, he figured that wouldn't work. So, he paid another 10 tickets to give it a second chance, this time firing at the star directly. This seemed to work much better for Duke as he had good aim and good eyesight, he was able to get every last piece of star from the paper and when the second match was over, he had achieved his goal. He finished first and he asked Danielle to pick out the prize of her choosing.

The booth had life-size plush dolls of various breeds of non-anthro domestic dogs. Amongst the choices were collies, German Shepherds, Siberian Huskies, Labradors (both black and yellow), and even a few Rottweilers. Duke expected Danielle to pick something like a collie or a lab, since while she may not have been afraid of him, she might still have a fear of non-anthropomorphic Rottweilers. However, Danielle surprised Duke and picked a Rottweiler as her prize. "I wanted to get a prize that would remind me of you", Danielle told Duke when she hugged her plush Rottweiler in her arms, making her date blush and wag his tail. It certainly seemed as if things were going well for the couple tonight.

They stayed at the Midway until Duke spent all 200 tickets, leaving there at around 10:30 and getting in another Pedi-Taxi to head back to the parking lot. Once they got back, they got into Duke's car and drove back home, arriving at Duke's house at around 11 PM. When they got back, Duke helped Danielle out of the car as she left her plush Rottweiler behind for the moment to embrace Duke. She gave him a kiss on the lips and held him tight.

"I really had a good time tonight, Duke. This is the best date I've been on in a very long time", Danielle told Duke softly as he hugged Danielle around her upper body and held her for as long as she held him. Meanwhile, inside his pants, Duke started to feel his maleness come out of its sheath, making him feel a bit nervous.

"Dammit...not now!", he thought to himself in frustration, sensing his body reacting to Danielle's touch and making him hope that she didn't feel him growing erect for her. Fortunately, Danielle let him go after a few moments, causing Duke to relax a bit, all without Danielle knowing about his doghood trying to interfere with their date.

"So...when would you like to go out again? I'd really like to spend another evening with you", Danielle asked in a cheery and eager tone, accepting Duke as her boyfriend and making Duke feel a bit antsy. Although Duke didn't worry about Danielle finding about his erection, it didn't stop him from growing erect for Danielle as his conscious mind tried to tell his biological urges to calm down.

"Why don't I give you a call tomorrow night and we'll talk about that. I've got some things I need to take care of tomorrow during the day", Duke answered back politely, not bringing up the fact that those "things" he was getting at was a trip to Vixen Hill to do something about his horniness before it got the better of him.

Danielle agreed and soon grabbed her plush Rottie out of Duke's car. Alright, in that case I guess I'll talk to you tomorrow", Danielle answered before going back over to Duke one more time to kiss him on his nose. "Have a good night...and try not to think about me too much!", Danielle replied before crossing the street heading back home. Although Danielle didn't feel his erection, she knew he was getting one, but Danielle knew it was because of her being so close to him, so she didn't mind it that much. Besides, if things continued to go well between them, it would only be a matter of time before she'd be willing to try having sex with him.

For now, though, Danielle went home, changed into her nightgown and then settled into bed. She brought the plush Rottie into the bed with her and held it tightly in her arms. She started to think about what it might be like to have Duke in bed with her, to feel his warm body against her own and to feel his strong arms wrapped around her body, holding her close. It made Danielle feel a bit warm and wet downstairs, but not quite enough to attempt having sex with Duke. She did, however, decide it was time to start warming herself up to this possibility and figured that she'd buy a canid-style dildo in the morning to practice. She knew she'd have to get used to taking a knot if she had sex with Duke, so this would be a good way to train for that. In the meantime, she simply snuggled her plush Rottie and fell asleep, having thoughts about Duke all night long, much like how he had with her.
