Devastated by a Champion
A story I did based on a piece of artwork that I got with Magnus aka https://twitter.com/wrestlecub. I had a lot of fun with this and hope you all enjoy it.
Another slam to the mat signifies the end of the match. A muscular dingo lays on his back; sweat and bruises cover his body. The muscular blue bear flexing obscures the poor guy's face. Sweat drips from the bear's body, highlighting his muscles for all to appreciate.
"Another victory goes to the champion, Magnus! Folks, I've never seen a champ on fire like this in years. There's no stopping this titan from decimating the competition!" The announcer shouts over the chorus of cheers and chants. Indeed there hasn't been a champ like Magnus. No fighter in years had a streak like his with zero defeats. His reign as champion has lasted longer than any that came before him.
The sounds of the crowd stopped, and everything stood still. With a sigh, the entire scene rewound itself to the start of the match. With a click, everything moved forward. The same taunts, hype, and bravado played out again, with a wolf watching intently. His eyes were glued to the screen taking in the crowd's energy, announcers, and the fighters. Everyone seems to be filled with high adrenaline loving every moment of the match, from the vicious blows to the insane bouts of strength. Everyone was happy having a blast being there. A far cry to how the wolf felt when he steps into the octagon; Every moment he's stuck in that ring is nothing but torment. At first, like any other hotshot, he was ecstatic about being the youngest MMA champion in his division. The fame, money, and rush he felt while fighting was exhilarating to the point it felt like a continuous climax.
Then the problems started after his reign entered its third year. So many new hotshot punks eyeing for the belt did whatever they could to reach his level. It baffled him that so many no-name shits could get enough support to get a title match. When he became champ, he wanted some more experienced fighters to go against him. Two veterans going at it was more exciting than some little shits who buy their way to the top. Did they listen, though? No, they didn't, and he had to deal with the taunts, the shit talk, and so many fans asking how he could handle the younger fighters. Each time the match came around, it always ended the same. More shit talk from the younger guys, more fans chanting for him to win, and when that bell rang, it ended with the little shits on the ground out cold from a single punch.
That's how his undefeated streak started, and it's boring as shit. He used to go up against Dynna Menaugh, Ceaser Strike, and Johnson Boa, each a damn good fighter that would drum up enough hype to sell out the venue each time. These days, he's up against twitchy weasels and some damn mutts. At least the older bears and lions knew how to take a punch. These newer little shits go down too easy. Yet the agents keep up this little show since it rakes in easy cash. It's exhausted the wolf's patience and any enjoyment he had when in the ring. He just wants to feel something, anything, when going in the ring. It feels like nothing but a damn circus now. His agents were lining people up to see the fantastic one-punch champ devastate any unfortunate soul stupid enough to enter the ring with him. Fuck he needs a change of career or something to rekindle that spark in him.
“It's five am, babe. How many times have you watched this?"
“I lost count after the fifth rewind."
Silver didn't turn to see who walked in. Judging from his internal clock, it's probably closer to six am, and the gator was running a bit late. The wolf was lucky to meet his bf Brutus when he was at his lowest point during his reign's second year. He was unfortunate enough to meet a hot little weasel after a match. The guy seemed friendly enough with a passion for fighting, as Silver had. Naturally, the two hit it off rather quickly, getting more intimate as the days passed. Then the ferret showed his true colors, only wanting to be with the wolf for his money. Silver tried breaking it off, but the ferret threatened to post their nightly escapades over social media to out him to the public. This pushed Silver into a downward spiral wanting out of the toxic relationship, but he didn't know how the public would react to him being gay. Luckily while out on a binge, he met Brutus, who, after hearing one too many drunken slurs, beat the shit out of him. Afterward, they talked, and the gator offered to help him.
That help was come out to a press conference with a long sloppy ass kiss (and a secret middle finger to the ferret) while also flipping off anyone that had a problem with it. Coming out skyrocketed his popularity and made more fighters confident to be more open with their orientations. Shortly after that, the two dated for a while, with one thing leading to another. Soon they moved in together and started dating properly. It was not an ordinary way to find love, but it worked out well enough for them; Now, the gator is more worried than ever for his big wolf.
“You need to sleep, babe. I swear you were like this when I got home yesterday."
“I slept a little. Not much need to sleep when the competition is glass jaw knuckleheads."
“That's not the point, and you know it. You're starting to scare me, hon." Silver winced hearing that. Whenever he would spiral out of control, he never had to worry about the feelings of others. His family abandoned him, and most of his friends were surface-level, only hanging out with him to improve their social standing. Now, he has someone that will stand with him through thick and thin. Yet here he was destroying himself while his lover watches helplessly. He sighed, turning the tv off to lean into his boyfriend's arms.
“I'm sorry, hon…I…I just…"
“I know, babe, I know. You met someone recently that wrestles for a living, right?" He gave a noncommittal grunt, feeling exhaustion finally catching up with his body. “Well, talk with him and see if he can help you out. Now's the perfect time since your contract is up for renewal." Silver nodded, not listening, focusing more on Brutus' soothing heartbeat. In the back of his mind, he thought it might be a good idea. Lucian seems like a good guy who'd be eager to help him out. Who knows, maybe he'll be able to take on the champ if that cute tiny human puts in a good word for him.
Three Months Later…..
“This new heel is tearing up the competition, ladies and gentlemen! After humiliating and dominating Lucian, the Hugmage, he has gone through the roster, absolutely crushing all who get in his way! The champ Magnus can no longer ignore this ferocious beast and has issued a challenge! Will this rampage be quelled by our titanic bear, or will he fall to the ferocity of this vicious wolf?!" Silver paused the video idly, sipping on a vanilla shake with Lucian. The human looked giddy with excitement. Not that anyone could blame him. He gets front-row seats to see two giant men beat the shit out of each other. Silver was less enthused since his first appearance was tainted with the promoters wanting a new heel to spice things up. The wolf never enjoyed being treated like the villain due to history painting his kind as a common boogeyman. Still, he can't deny the excitement it's drumming up for the match, and he's promised that his persona could change after this story was wrapped up.
“So are you excited, Tony!? You'll get to go up against Magnus!" Lucian asked, scooting his seat closer to Silver resting his head on a floofy bicep.
“Of course I'm excited. Been a while since I've felt this pumped for a fight since my first title match. I wish it could've been done as a face but can't get everything you want."
“You'd be an awesome face! You're great as a heel, too, hehe. It was a rush being in the ring with you, especially when you went into the zone!"
Silver snorts, ruffling the human's hair and finishing off his shake before resuming the video. Tomorrow was the day he'd face off against his idol. He wants to do well, but he wants to lose, in all honesty. To have his streak broken, his fans crestfallen, and more importantly, all the shit-talking to stop. Since he departed from the MMA circuit, many of his fans have been stirring up trouble. They've been butting heads with fans of the wrestling circuit shit-talking that he would decimate the entire roster. All that's been thrown at him are some low-tier listers to drum up hype. Lucian, though a jobber, was the only big name he got to go against in this league. Hell, he didn't even face any of the D-tier listers. This setup and hype going against Magnus was just an elaborate tryout. He just hopes he can impress the big bear next week.
A Week Later….
Silver stood in the ring, surrounded by the screaming crowd, ready for the match to begin. His heart was beating a mile a minute as he waited for Magnus to appear. The anxiety was starting to gnaw at him as he waited to pick up the smallest of sounds. The lights buzzing above, the camera crew's shuffling, whispers among the announcers, and Lucian's shuffling into the ring while straightening out his ref attire. It unnerved the wolf to feel so vulnerable, so scared at the prospect of a fight. So many years facing off against an assortment of fighters had steeled his nerves to the point he could face someone three hundred pounds heavier than him, and he wouldn't flinch now though he was worried if he could even perform well against a similar-sized opponent. A smile formed as he stretched, waiting patiently for the match to start. He felt alive again, a feeling he'll hold onto for as long as possible.
Magnus strode down from the stage to the ring; the stadium erupted into cheers. The large muscular blue bear smirked, adjusting his black mask and elbow guards staring down at the wolf, eager to get his paws on the canine. He climbs into the ring, never breaking eye contact with his opponent.
Silver gulped a bit, staring right into Magnus' eyes, feeling that bears breath on him. It feels like he's staring at a legendary beast, holding itself back from demolishing him right then and there. Lucian pushed them apart, explaining the rules of the match. Aside from no weapons, everything else is fair game to do. The human looked between the two before raising his hand to signal the start of the match.
The wolf barely registered the bell ringing. He dropped the awestruck act glaring the bear down, snarling at his opponent, offering up his paws to the bear. The champ never turned down a contest of strength from all his matches. What better way to start the match than to show how much stronger he was than the champ.
"So puppy think he's stronger than me, eh? Heh, I'll bite; this could be fun." The bear grasps the hands of the canine, and the two immediately press against one another, snarling. Muscles tensed as the two showed their strength, pushing back and forth, not wanting to lose any ground to the other. Silver strained himself, trying to gain ground against the bear, but he was losing ground instead. Step by step, Magnus pushes the canine back, slowly grinning as it dawned on Silver what a mistake it was to start the match with a lockup. “Looks like I'm stronger, pup." The bear pushes Silver into the turnbuckle slamming that back against the pole before hoisting him across those broad shoulders. He paraded the canine around before tossing Silver into the air, jumping up and grabbing the canine's head, slamming him hard into the mat.
Silver groans holding his maw, stunned from the slam. He barely registers his legs being lifted into the air. Groggily he looks up to see the bear grinning at him again. Oh, Fuck! Was the only thing to cross Silver's mind before the champ flipped him over, bending his legs and spine in a boston crab hold. The canine yowled in pain as he attempted to crawl towards the rope. He was a hair's breadth away, only for Magnus to laugh before pulling him back to the center of the ring to put more pressure on him. The bear smirked, seeing the wolf writhe in pain on the mat. He couldn't help himself slowly bending that spine more to see how much his opponent could take.
Silver whimpered, wondering if the bear was trying to break his spine. He's at his limit, unable to take the pressure raising a paw to tap out. Magnus saw this in time to break the hold standing over his opponent, who's nursing their back. The bear spread his arms, hyping the crowd up before grabbing a fistful of the wolf's headfur and pulling the poor canine up. The bear smirks, trapping the pup in a full nelson spreading the boy's legs. The crowd was chanting now, knowing what the champ was about to do. He raised the wolf before bringing him down onto his knee but avoiding a full groin shot.
The wolf yipped, feeling that knee strike him between his legs. He thanks whatever higher power was watching to prevent his balls from suffering any damage. However, it didn't help that the blow was still painful. He felt himself get raised once again for another blow. “Magnus! W-wait!" His pleads fell on deaf ears as pain shot up from between his legs again. The bear released him, causing him to stagger to the ropes to lean on for support. The poor canine suck in the air, trying to fight through the pain. So far, he hasn't been able to touch the bear at all. He's just been a practice dummy for the champ.
Magnus followed close behind, giving the pup a moment to catch his breath. He almost felt terrible the puppy hasn't been able to get a blow in…well, almost. The bear had a reputation for completely demolishing anyone that treats his boy, Lucian, badly in the ring. He can't disappoint his fans by not working the canine over. Magnus growls before spinning the wolf around to face him, tying his arms up in the ropes. He grabbed the wolf's hair again, forcing that head back to expose that muscular chest. He licked his lips, appreciating the wolf's body, noting how much time and effort he must have put in his training. The champ backhanded that chest hard with his free paw, causing the wolf to groan in pain. The crowd went wild as the champ backhanded that chest several times before backing off.
God, this match has been the most humiliating moment of the wolf's life. He's taken a beating before, but this was just to humiliate him. Those backhands don't hurt, but it's a code from one wrestler to another. You're a wannabe wrestler while I'm the real deal. You don't deserve my best. It frustrated the wolf, yet it excited him at the same time. He felt the ropes give, causing him to fall forward onto the mat. Slowly he got into a kneeling position only to feel those strong paws on his head forcing him against those black boots of the champ.
“Heard you mutts enjoy musky boots." The bear taunted, rubbing Silver's face across the rough leather. The wolf could only growl in defiance, unable to resist. The bear smirks, ready to end this match; He thinks Silver's been humiliated enough for one day. He wraps a paw around the canine's neck, chuckling as the wolf tries to pry the paw off him. Magnus raises the wolf into the air with one arm making the crowd go wild appreciating how strong the champ was. “Nighty night, mutt." Magnus teased before slamming the poor canine down.
Silver coughed in pain, the blow knocking out the air from his lungs. He didn't have time to recover as the champ sat on his chest, resting that bulge near his face while flexing above him. The ref slid over to count the pin. Silver's face burned in embarrassment, wondering if he should just accept the loss or try to keep it going.
1!...
2!...
No! He's not gonna let this end without landing at least one blow on this bear. With little strength he had left, he kicked out of the pin. The audience roared in excitement and surprise that he could kick out. The ref held up his paws, indicating the pin was interrupted at the two and a half count. Magnus snorted in amusement at the wolf. He assumed the wolf wanted a bit more time in the spotlight, and he's more than happy to punish the boy some more. The bear pulled the dazed canine up, attempting to sling him into a corner to have some fun with him.
Just as he was about to be slung, Silver gripped Magnus' arm before reversing the sling sending the bear into the corner instead! The bear growled, gritting his teeth in pain as his back hit the turnbuckle hard. He couldn't help but smile at the wolf's tenacity. Ok puppy. For that, you deserve a treat. Magnus went limp in the corner playing possum to lure the mutt in.
Silver stood there panting, unable to process what just happened. He got a blow on the champ and took the wind out of the bear from the looks of it. His tail wagged as he ran to the corner full speed, ready to get some momentum going for him. Though he knew it wouldn't go that way. He couldn't stop as he saw Magnus grin at him before jumping up and kicking him straight in the muzzle. Of course, it was too easy, the bear laid out the bait, and he fell for the trap hook line and sinker. Silver gripped his muzzle, writhing on the ground. At least he got a hit in, and if the bear goes for the pin, he'll let the big guy have it.
Magnus chuckled at the wolf walking towards the canine. Rookies are too easy to get with playing possum. The adrenaline and excitement make them easy targets. Looking over his opponent, he could tell the wolf was done. One hit to make him not look like a jobber was always enough for anyone going up against the bear. Usually, the bear would be obliged, but this wolf deserves to be finished with something special. He's sure that Lucian would enjoy the show as well. Grabbing Silver by the nape and his shorts, the bear deadlifts the canine over his head before throwing him out of the ring. The poor boy hits the barricade, and he yowls in pain, nursing his back. It's going to be a minute before he can climb back in. The ref starts the count, and the bear decides to excite the fans eager to try out a new move.
Silver crawled his way to the ring after the ref held up six fingers. He didn't want this to end with a technicality. He climbed through the ropes only to be gripped in the head by Magnus. He felt those biceps tighten around his head in a headlock. The ropes hold his feet up as he feels the blood rushing to his face. Soon everything was going dim.
Magnus smirked, ready to execute his new move, and the pup was all too helpful getting into position. Once he felt Silver's muscle going lax, he completed the move slamming that handsome mug into the mat. He pulled the canine to the center, rolling the poor pup on his back. Silver's tongue lulled out of his maw, wholly knocked out. Magnus sat on that chest again, flexing, and finally got that three count. The bell rang, with the ref announcing another victory for him. Magnus kneeled next to Silver, putting one paw on the chest while the other pointed to the crowd.
"Let this be a lesson to any punk that comes in my ring! This is what happens when you mess with my boys! Cause I'm the King! Of! This! Ring!" The crowd chants along with Magnus as he basks in his victory. He makes a mental note to keep apprised of Silver's progress. Having this pup around could be fun for him and the other S-tier boys.
Silver lays on a bench, groaning. He lies with a wet towel on his head as he does his best to soothe his headache. The wolf had no idea how he got into the locker room but was grateful to whoever dragged him here. Some promoters came by to show him the match ratings and expressed interest in pairing him with other fighters. The wolf was grateful for the opportunities, but he only wanted to sleep off this beating.
“Still around pup? I might've gone a bit overboard." Silver moves the towel a bit to see Magnus out of his gear, smirking. The wolf smiles a bit before sitting up slowly.
“Nah, you were great, man. Been a long time since I felt anything other than boredom in my matches."
“Hah! Anyways I was hoping to run into ya." Silver's ears perked up a bit.
“Why?"
“Lucian wanted me to drag you to a D&D session he has planned."
“Oh, I don't think…." Magnus sat next to the wolf, wrapping an arm around him.
“Come on…it'll be fun, and besides," the bear leans in to whisper, “I ain't done thrashing you around, pup." Silver shivers a bit, not understanding what he means, but he's eager to find out.
“A-alright, I'm game though I know nothing about tabletop stuff."
“No problem! Lucian's a big fantasy buff, so he'll walk you through it!" Silver leans into his idol, eager to see what the future holds for him…..hopefully, a strong bearhug.~
