A little cup of love CH.2
The days pass by, the clock ticks on. Why are you here.
As you stare off into space, the muffled sound of her voice draws you back to reality, “Soooo… Anon, I have so many ideas on what we could do! So we could go on a double date with my friend later when I get everything sorted out. We could go to the park and have a nice picnic there..." Soon enough you tune her out again, soon fading to a muffled jumble of noises.
You stare at the door and think to yourself, 'She really thinks we're something, Jesus. How am I supposed to get out of this?' Returning to reality, you notice that she's stood up now, stretching as her tail wags.
“Come on Anon, let's get back to the bedroom, it's starting to get dark. I've got so many ideas on what we can do together, I'm so excited!" You double take at her saying, 'It was getting dark' looking at the door you notice the faint streaks of light weren't showing from under the crack… Just how long had you been sitting here? Before you get to answer your own question, you're yanked from the sofa and dragged along by the Jackal once more.
As you're heaved onto the bed, you stare at the ceiling waiting for her to inevitably wrap her arms around you. Slowly she snakes her arms around you, pulling you closer to her and letting out a content sigh, placing her chin atop your head she snuggles into you.
“Love you, Anon. Goodnight," She sighs out before taking a deep breath, followed by a rhythmic pattern of breathing. You shift yourself to face away from her to get comfortable, leaving you face to face to a bedside table with a bottle of pills sitting atop it. Squinting, you look at the label on the bottle, barely able to make out the words; “Thorazine" craning your head back, you look at the Jackal behind you, fast asleep with a smile spread across her muzzle.
Turning back to look at the bottle you groan. 'Someone will think I'm missing, they'll call the cops and I'll get out safe and sound.' you reassure yourself. Closing your eyes, you wait for sleep to overtake you.
Groggily opening your eyes, you glance around to the bedroom you've grown all too used to. Rolling to your back, you stare blankly at the ceiling of the room, a single thought screaming out at you, 'How long have I been here?'
Familiar light taps of paws draw your attention to the bedroom door, Jacquelin taking a few quick steps in, holding the bed tray you've eaten off of multiple times before.
Placing it down, she crawls into the bed next to you, grabbing the fork and repeating the same routine of feeding you as you watch TV. You idly stare off into space while the TV slowly fades to black as the show ends. You feel a slight shifting to your side and you quickly turn your head to look at the Jackal beside you.
“Anon, you've been awfully quiet these last few weeks," she murmurs, grabbing your tied hands before pulling them to her chest. “I think I have something that'll switch that right up." A slight smile spread across her muzzle.
Kicking her feet off the side of the bed, she takes the tray, placing it on the nightstand before hauling you off the bed, pulling you to the living room in an excited skip.
“We're gonna visit the communal gardens on the roof!" Prancing in-place, she quickly claps before half skipping half running back down the hallway soon returning with a large coat.
“It's cold out so, let's share a jacket." She lets out a giggle before continuing “Just like all those cute couples do."
You stare her down for a minute refusing to talk before an idea strikes you.
“That'd be great… Ech- hun." You cringe at the words leaving your mouth, and for a moment you're not even sure this'll work, but it's the best shot you have. Forcing a smile you give a slight nod. “I'd… love to visit the garden with you. It'll be- SO much fun." Hearing your words, she lets out an excited gasp before cupping her own cheeks.
“OH YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE IT!" She nearly yells out, prancing to you, she pulls you to a stand before draping the jacket over both of your shoulders and placing a hand to your cheek. She pushes on your cheek to make your gaze lock with hers. Closing her eyes, she leans forward and gives you a quick peck on the lips before pulling back to look you in the eye with a smile.
“Don't make me break that pretty face, Anon." Snickering as she finishes the remark, your breath hitching as the threat comes out so casually. Soon, you're unwittingly dragged out the front door, the sudden assaulting light nearly blinding you. Hissing out, you shut your eyes to alleviate some of the pain, blinking a few times as your vision returns, feverishly looking around for anyone that could help you. You desperately want to yell out to anyone, but with the Jackal pushed up against your side, you ultimately decide not to.
As she drags you along, you glance at her, a genuine excited smile plastered on her muzzle. Dragging you to the building's edge she stops and looks to the distance.
“Quite the fall, isn't it hun? Wonder if anyone has fallen down." She quietly remarks, not bothering to turn to you. Looking down to the drop your stomach turns “Hah, y-yeah…", you unconsciously scoot back from the edge before you're dragged along once again, letting out a yelp you're forcibly pushed down into a nearby hammock. Taking her position behind you, she rests her head atop yours and lets out a sigh.
“Y'know Anon, I was worried that something might've happened between us, and you didn't want to talk to me," She mutters, you shift slightly to push yourself away from her and swallow an invisible lump in your throat before replying
“Of course not- Er… Jackie, dear. Just feeling a bit under the weather." She lets out a little gasp before squeezing you tighter
“Oh Anon! You gave me my very own nickname, I'll cherish it forever…" Humming a familiar melody her grip on you slowly loosens, taking your chance, you pull away from her trying to create space between you two.
A quiet 'Huh?' behind you would catch your attention, before you could turn yourself around you're forcefully turnt face to face with Jacquelin staring you down with wide eyes with no discernable expression, her normally wagging tail coming to a stand still.
“Anon, why did you pull away from me?" A hint of anger belying her monotone voice.
Your mind kicks into overdrive to make up an excuse on the spot, “I-I was just making room to turn around and face you, h-honey." you blurt out in an attempt to calm her down. Pulling you closer she stares into your eyes for what feels like hours before lifting a hand, placing it to your cheek she slowly strokes in a back and forth motion, a small smile finally reappearing on her muzzle.
“This is why I love you, you're so sweet to me." Emotion returning to her voice, inwardly you sigh in relief before you're forcefully turned again to face away from her, the jacket draped over both of you dropping to the floor unceremoniously, a snicker emanates from Jacquelin behind you.
“Oh no! The jacket was swept off by the wind, how cold you must be, you furless little thing… Come here let Jackie warm you up during this cold sunset!" You can't help but recoil internally at the overly sweet line, honeyed with cliche. Shivering in the cold wind, you crane your neck behind you at some feeble attempt at locating any other living soul around, the attempt cut short by an abrupt embrace from the Jackal, a quiet sigh escaping from her.
“You don't know how long I've wanted to do this with you, Anon. Lying down, cuddled up, watching a beautiful sunset…" Pulling herself away she scratches at the side of her chin and lets out a chuckle, “I'm ah… a bit sorry about the whole lashing out thing earlier when you wanted to get comfier and face me, hun. I knew you meant well," giving a toothy smile as she runs a furred hand through your hair.
Swallowing the lump in your throat you merely nod, having trouble finding the words in your throat. “S-sure, Jackie," Shutting your eyes, you attempt to focus on your own thoughts, attempts at escape, ways to get attention on you, ANYTHING to keep you sane here, any misguided hope, anything to keep you working to get out of this hellhole.
Minutes that feel like hours drag along before you're roused from your thoughts by a light tugging at your hair, trying to shrug it off you sit still attempting to refocus again before hearing quiet mutters from the woman beside you, Shaking your head you keep your eyes closed thinking the muttering to just be empty sweet nothings being tossed your way. As you try to drown out the muttering they only get clearer and clearer by the moment, soon able to make out what she's saying.
“I thought I'd never have this day... Here with you, lying here, but I was given this chance and I took it, you've been so happy here... I don't ever want it to end, I want to stay here, in this moment, you and me, forever."
Your body locks up at those last few words, you fear the concept of being here an extended amount of time, let alone forever. Every single instinct in your gut is screaming at you to run, hobble, crawl, do ANYTHING to get off this roof and make a scene.
Meanwhile, your self preservation instinct tells you the complete opposite, this woman is unhinged, she doesn't see the stress, fear, and anxiety she's put you through for… god knows how many days, she'd tear your throat out at the smallest sign of you raising your voice above a whisper.
“I.. ehm… I uh... w-would… uh… would-" choked words come out in staggered steps from your throat, you can barely figure out what to say before more words come mindlessly pouring out “Would… love to s-spend time with… w-with you…" You can't help but instantly regret saying that, shaking your head you remind yourself 'If I can get her to trust me, I could get away with more… hopefully.'
You feel her perk up slightly before a light groan escapes her, sitting herself up she carefully pulls herself from the hammock before turning around and promptly pulling you from it as well.
“C'mon Anon, the sun finally set. Gotta get back home before it gets TOO cold. Even if I'd love to go camping one day, I'd rather do it in the woods… maybe have a few hijinks there too!" She lets out a giggle as a light blush creeps over her cheeks. You give her a blank stare, running on fumes at this point. Looking away you give one more survey of the area before being dragged away. Anything, lit up rooms, people walking by, smokers going for their break… anyone.
