Food For Thought
The latest chapter of Theo and Brooklyn.
“Really Brooklyn, you didn’t have to come.” “Are you crazy? You would have been lost without me!” The red gargoyle exclaimed as he adjusted the large, makeshift backpack attached to his back. It really was just a huge crate, with two thick ropes wrapped around it. “Besides, you wouldn’t be able to carry all this stuff down here anyways.” “Yeah, but didn’t you say Goliath wanted to talk to you about some leadership thing? Sounds pretty important given you’re his second and all that.” Theo huffed as he adjusted his own backpack, smaller than Brooklyn’s but still heavy for him. “Oh uh…yeah, but it’s okay. I was able to rain check it.” Brooklyn said slowly, his eyes looking forward as they traversed a desolate subway track, navigating the winding tunnels and corridors beneath the big apple as they made their way towards the home of the Labyrinth clan. “Rain check it?” Theo prodded. “Yeah. I mean, Goliath seemed a bit peeved, but he understood that I wanted to escort my mate through the bowels of the underground. The Labyrinth clan is full of mutates and forgotten peoples of New York City. I’m also one of the few who knows my way around these abandoned tunnels; who knows what could happen to you?! Could be pretty dangerous!” Brooklyn explained as he confidently puffed out his chest and raised his chin. Theo seemed a bit perplexed at Brooklyn’s answer but scoffed and rolled his eyes as he saw his mate’s bravado. “Well, I guess it is nice to have my mighty gargoyle escort me there.” Theo conceded. “Oh yeah, you sound soooo sure of me.” Brooklyn chuckled sarcastically. “When have I not? You’ve never given me a reason to give up on you.” Theo affirmed as he looked at Brooklyn, a warm smile upon his lips that caused the gargoyle to blush before looking down at his feet, slowly reaching out and offering his hand. Theo happily accepted and entwined his fingers together, letting Brooklyn lead him this way and that as they walked deeper and deeper throughout the dark infrastructure of the underground. Theo could barely even see where they were going, as any light fixtures were sparse and pale. Thankfully, Brooklyn was easily able to see in the dark just fine. “But…seriously, mi amor, what’s bugging you?” Theo pressed after a minute of lovely silence. “Nothing I-….” Brooklyn started before feeling Theo’s eyes bore into his, even in the dark. “I just…I dunno, feel like this is all moving so fast.” He sighed. “W-what do you mean…like u-us?” Theo stammered, his voice wavering. “No no! Not you babe! I mean the whole…Goliath thing.” Brooklyn exhaled as he led them down an adjacent tunnel. “It’s just I’m…thankful that Goliath chose me to be his second. But…now all of a sudden he wants to meet for meetings, talking about leadership and governance and all that stuff. He’s making it seem that he wants me to take over now and I…I’m not ready for that.” Theo nodded, silently listening as his fiancé vented to him. “Besides, I mean I’m happy to help out when Goliath’s not around, but I’m not ready for him to step down. I still want to…to live my life! I want to enjoy more time with you, before I gotta deal with all that responsibility.” Brooklyn continued, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. Theo could sense his lover’s apprehension and squeezed the clawed hand of the gargoyle, stopping in his tracks and facing him. “Hey look, I get it. I mean, it’s a lot. It feels like it was just yesterday you rescued me in that alley, then I blinked and was working for Xanatos; Now, I live in a high rise in Manhattan versus the streets of the city. Next thing I knew, I’m marrying the sexiest man on the planet.” Theo chuckled as he ran his hand up Brooklyn’s arm. “I’m not a man, I’m a gargoyle.” Brooklyn said flatly. “Mi tesoro, you know what I mean! The point is, I don’t think anyone is ever ready for what life gives us you know? Yeah, it’s scary. I feel like I don’t even know what I’m doing half the time in the kitchen, or why Xanatos hasn’t fired me. But we can only take it one day at a time.” Theo admitted as while he could barely make out the gargoyle’s face, he was sure Brooklyn could see his genuine smile. “Yeah…yeah I guess you’re right.” Brooklyn sighed as he leaned into Theo’s touch as the human’s fingers gently cusped the side of his beak-like muzzle. “Well I hope I am!” Theo chuckled. “Oh babe…how do you manage to stay so…positive?” Brooklyn asked as he snaked his arms around his shorter lover. “Well…I guess because I have hit some lows in my life. I mean you know what I’ve been through..and I’d like to think, once you hit rock bottom, the only place you can go is up! And I get to appreciate all the little things in life. And now, I have someone to enjoy them with too.” Theo responded, blushing heavily despite the darkness. Brooklyn didn’t say anything, and just leaned down to hug Theo tightly, releasing a shaky exhale as he enjoyed his human’s touch. After another silent minute, Brooklyn pulled back and looked down. “You know just what to say; I’m so lucky to have a mate like you.” “Well, I’d like to think everything happens for a reason; I wouldn’t change a single thing about the past, as it led me right to you. And while we can’t predict the future, I think Goliath just wants to prepare you best he can. No matter what, you are NOT alone. I’ll be there by your side through it all.” Theo vowed as he leaned in and planted a sweet kiss on Brooklyn’s maw. The gargoyle eagerly returned the kiss, softly pressing their lips together as he held the intimate embrace. With the gargoyle reassured, he led his lover around a few more winding corridors before arriving at the big metal gates that marked the entrance to the home of the Labyrinth Clan. Theo could make out two humanoid figures guarding the gate, and indeed they looked bizarre. The pair of large, praying mantis-like creatures stood outside with what looked like spears. Truthfully, Theo was a bit daunted and gripped his mate’s hand tighter. Brooklyn could feel the apprehension, and turned to give his lover a reassuring smile as the heavy doors opened and a familiar black feline figure with glowing yellow eyes came out. “Brooklyn, nice to see you again.” Talon greeted as he extended his hand to shake the gargoyle’s. Brooklyn clasped back in mutual respect, before the mutate turned and looked down at the smaller human. “And you must be Theo? My sister has spoken highly of you.” “Oh really, that’s uh - wow, don’t know what to say…” Theo chuckled uneasily as he took in the massive humanoid. Brooklyn was tall, but Talon looked taller and more muscular. The panther definitely carried a heavy presence to be sure, and based on Talon’s strong grip when they shook hands, Theo could tell the former was not one to be messed with. As the trio entered past the doors, Theo was in awe. The Labyrinth sprawled beneath the city of Manhattan like the fossilized remains of some colossal, mechanical beast—a forgotten monument to desolation and secrecy. Once the proud domain of the cutting-edge Cyberbiotics company owned by Halcyon Renard, the complex was a vast, multilayered network of tunnels, chambers, and research halls; many of which still hummed with flickering remnants of artificial light and dormant machinery. Steel catwalks stretched over yawning chasms of forgotten infrastructure, while walls of reinforced alloy bore the faded insignias of the corporation that built it. Echoes of abandoned experiments and forgotten technology lingered in the air. The deeper one descended, the stranger and more arcane the technology became, suggesting that the company’s work delved far beyond conventional science, evident by the mutates now inhabiting the metal catacombs. Yet, the initial eerie ambiance was contrasted by the hustle and bustle of its inhabitants.Theo was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. There were creatures of all kinds, mixing and mingling with humans! Even if they were homeless, everything seemed…fine? People were laughing, helping each other out, and conversing as if they were up on the streets at a coffee shop on 5th Avenue. No one seemed to care if someone was dressed in rags or if someone looked like an anthropomorphic crocodile; no one cared how dirty one appeared or that some were huddled around a trash can bonfire. Everything seemed normal, yet different. “Is something the matter?” Talon asked as he looked down at Theo. “Nothing..it is just…nice to see everyone get along down here. It was not what I expected.” He responded back, nodding in confirmation. “What did you expect? That we were running around here like some heathens?” The big black cat asked curiously, his glowing yellow eyes intently staring at the human. “Well…truthfully I did not know what to expect. I didn’t know much about the Labyrinth except that it was a community free for anyone to thrive in, for cast outs and homeless of the like, to be welcomed down here with open arms. You do a good job running the place.” Theo commended. “In the Labyrinth, nobody is in charge. Since there is no government or law down here, we all assist one another with tasks and take care of one another when no one else would.” “Yet, I assume people look to you for guidance? You are the one who greeted me, and it seems the soldiers out there listen to you and follow your instructions? At least, Eliza told me that you make sure people don’t do anything crazy down here” Theo pressed as he walked alongside Talon towards what he assumed was the kitchen space. “He is not the leader, but Talon is just willing to help out in whatever way he can.” A raspy, feminine voice responded, drawing everyone’s attention. A sleek feline with dark golden fur and an olive outfit approached them, approaching Talon and giving him a tight hug before looking back at the gargoyle and human. “Theo, this is Maggie, my girlfriend.” Talon introduced as he finished the hug with a quick kiss. “Ah yes. Nice to meet you!” The human said as he stuck out his hand and shook the lioness’, surprised at how strong her grip was too. “I’m Theo, Brooklyn’s boyf-sorry, fiance.” “Hey…Maggie.” Said gargoyle looked a bit surprised, slouching slightly as if sheepish. Before the air got too awkward, Theo interrupted, “so, is this where I will be cooking today?” “Yes, I know it ain’t what you are used to, in your fancy kitchen up in the Eyrie, but you will have to make due.” Talon said firmly. “Oh this? Relax big guy, this is fine; trust me, I’ll make a meal you guys won’t forget!” Theo chuckled as he began to unwrap and set up his equipment. In this rustic environment Theo moved with a practiced grace, each motion familiar in tradition and memory. The night’s menu was not just a meal; it was a celebration of his heritage. If there was one thing he cherished about his abysmal upbringing, was how his family—mainly his mother and aunts—taught him the importance of food. Cooking, creating meals that warm the hearts of your loved ones, is a language that can bring all walks of life together, and he approached it with the reverence of a craftsman. He began with sancocho, a staple of Dominican comfort food. Into a wide, heavy pot he layered chunks of beef, chicken, and pork, each seared for depth before he added plantains, corn, and other vegetables whose earthy tones softened the slow bubble of the broth. Cilantro, garlic, and a dash of sour orange then brought it all to life. As it simmered, the kitchen slowly filled with a fragrance that reminded him of Sunday afternoons back at his casa, where his mother would cave in and let him add sazón to the meals. Next came the mofongo, another classic from his culture. Theo fried thick slices of the rest of the plantains until golden, then mashed them with roasted garlic and crispy chicharrón. The mixture was dense and savory, shaped into a rustic mound and hollowed slightly to cradle a spoonful of rich broth or shrimp in garlic sauce, depending on the day’s mood. With the oil still hot, he turned to the Tostones; he sliced another green plantain into thick rounds, frying them once until tender, then pressing each piece flat with a tostonera before a second fry made them perfectly crisp. Sprinkled with sea salt, these morsels were simple, irresistible—an ode to the island’s love for bold texture and flavor. Finally, there was the chivo guisado, one of Theo’s favorites. The goat meat had marinated overnight in vinegar, bitter orange, oregano, and thyme, absorbing every note. Theo browned the meat until the edges caramelized, then stewed it low with peppers, onions, and tomatoes until the sauce thickened and the meat nearly fell apart. Theo loved it as it was the most intense of the dishes—bold, spiced, and unforgettable. Not everyone may have liked it, but Theo figured it should be included in this trifecta of a menu alongside some sides of rice and beans. As the dishes came together, Theo didn’t just cook—he told a story. One of ancestors, of hands that cooked before his, of his family, connecting through time to bring forth a comfort many yearned for - a home cooked meal. It took about 1.5 hours or so, but eventually Theo stepped back and admired his work. He gave a call that the meal was ready and within minutes, a line formed from the denizens of the Labyrinth as they eagerly awaited this free meal. A few helpful individuals helped him serve the different dishes as Theo was just one soul, but it helped him as it allowed Theo to interact with these kindred spirits. As everyone grabbed their choice of dish, soon the sounds of laughter and conversation filled the space. The air was buzzing with delightful lip smacking and warm bellies as they consumed a home cooked meal in gods know how long. “I gotta say Brooklyn…your fiancée knows how to cook.” Talon said as he sighed in delight at finishing his plate of Mofongo amidst some sides. “Yeah…yeah he does.” Brooklyn agreed as he was introduced to and loved the goat-based dish, gazing at Theo lovingly who was busy in conversation amidst a small group of mutates and humans alike. Brooklyn failed to hide a prideful smile as his mate was engrossed in explaining his cooking. “How did you meet him by the way?” Maggie asked as she joined the conversation, finishing the last bite of her plate. Brooklyn hesitated, before he explained his fateful meeting with Theo. The minutes dragged on as he ended up going on about how they grew close and eventually professed their love for one another, their miscellaneous escapades, to him proposing to Theo, and finally to them planning their wedding. Brooklyn had to pause, as he realized how fast his life was changing; if you would have told him that he would be falling in love with a human two years ago, he would’ve called you crazy. “Wow…that’s some story.” Talon remarked as he held Maggie close to him. “I’m glad you found your person, Brooklyn.” Maggie replied as she hugged Talon tightly and looked up at him with a warm smile, which the bigger black cat returned. “Yeah, me too. It’s crazy how things have changed now that he’s in my life.” Brooklyn sighed as he kept staring at Theo fondly, who was currently talking with some of the people and mutates as he kept passing out meals. “Is he gonna cook for the wedding too?” Talon chuckled. “I keep telling him no, but he’s picky about the food. I don’t know if that’s just him speaking as a cook or as the groom-to-be.” Brooklyn responded in kind. Talon was going to continue but another mutate pulled him aside and spoke to him. Brooklyn couldn’t make out the conversation as Talon nodded in understanding. “Excuse me. I have to go take care of something.” Talon informed them before walking away, leaving his mate and Brooklyn alone by themselves. The air was silent for a few minutes before Brooklyn sighed and turned to face the yellow cat. “Sorry for being weird earlier.” He confessed. “Oh..that’s fine. It’s no trouble.” Maggie responded, a bit awkward. “I’m happy you have Talon. He’s a great guy, with a great head on his shoulders..” Brooklyn commented. “Yeah, he’s my rock. It sounds cliche, but I can’t imagine my life without him.” “I know exactly what you mean.” Brooklyn agreed as he looked at Theo, who gave a warm glimpse back at the former before waving. “And hey look, you and Talon have a cute kid together!” Brooklyn added which steered the conversation in a warmer direction as Maggie was elated to talk about her newborn son. The duo spent the next couple of minutes talking before Maggie had to leave to go check on said child. Meanwhile, the red gargoyle returned back to his human who seemed to be finishing up serving the food. “Hey babe, how was it?” Brooklyn asked as he embraced Theo followed by a sweet kiss. “I think it went well! A lot of people loved it. I was on the fence of making Bacalao but…after seeing more eh…fish-people, I’m glad I didn’t!” Theo chirped warmly. Brooklyn’s smile faded a bit before he held Theo’s hands. The talk he had with Maggie eased his insecurity regarding relationships but he registered his diffidence wasn’t really fair to his current lover and kind of undermined how he felt towards Theo. “Hey um…I just wanted to…apologize to you.” The gargoyle said after a few seconds collecting his thoughts, trying to cut through his anxious feelings. “For what?” Theo tilted his head. “Well…being awkward around Maggie. I realize…it wasn’t fair to you. I don’t know why I reacted like that. I mean, I’ve been honest about my uhhh romantic past..and Maggie was–I mean, well, I guess we weren’t really dating but I thought we were getting close, but nothing happened. And you were right next to me and-“ Brooklyn began to confess before a solitary human finger graced his beak, causing the gargoyle to go cross eyed before looking down at its owner. “Mi noche, I get it. She was someone you were interested in, but she didn’t reciprocate it. And now you have me, and it felt weird seeing her again while you’re with me, right?” Theo prodded knowingly, with Brooklyn nodding and hanging his head in shame. “Brooklyn, look at me.” The second-in-command of the Manhattan Clan looked up slowly, embarrassment & guilt etched on his face. “Cálmate...you’re fine. I get it; it can be uncomfortable being in the same space as an ex, or feeling uncomfortable at least. I mean she wasn’t your ex, right?” Theo reassured as he brought his boyfriend in for a warm hug, sighing happily as he rested his chin on the other’s shoulder. “Let it out hon.” Theo whispered additionally. “You know I’m the last person to ever judge someone because of their past, Brooklyn.” “I know darling…but still, it wasn’t respectful to you. I–“ the gargoyle tightened his hold on the human, before he was interrupted by another kiss. “Brooklyn, I love you but callaté already. It’s no problem, really; I didn’t think that much of it honestly. Is there anything else you wanna share? You don’t have to if you don’t wanna.” Theo stated as he traced a finger around his lover’s chest. Still seeing the sad face on that cute beak of the gargoyle, Theo grinned and adorned a thoughtful look. Brooklyn’s heart melted at the words of comfort; how could he say no to a face like that? Brooklyn spent the next minute or so explaining his relation to Maggie. “Awe mi azuca…so you thought she liked you cuz you saved her?” Theo surmised as he rubbed his thumb along the back of Brooklyn’s hand, having migrated them to sit on a nearby rustic couch. The gargoyle’s demeanor seemed to have lightened up, exhaling & looking forward as he focused his thoughts. “…I guess? I mean, looking at it now I guess it was kinda foolish to think she’d like me back just because I was helping her out. All I wanted to do was… spare her from what I went through with humans you know? I think I just…wanted to feel needed.” “Yeah, I get it.” “Ugh, now I feel gross. I shouldn’t just do things with the expectation of getting something back! Especially romance! I don’t even know why I got weird with her when we were alone, I’ve interacted with her before and I was fine!” Brooklyn scolded himself, face palming. “Hey…that’s not it.” Theo regarded as he turned to face his lover and braced his arms. “I know you, Brooklyn. You don’t do things quid pro quo” “Squid poor what?” “Quid pro quo. It means ‘something for something’, and you do not do that. The Brooklyn I know acts out of the kindness of his heart. He wants to help because he wants to feel useful, and he’s a team player. I can’t tell you how many times you’ve told me you’ve helped others in need and I love that about you. I guess with this Maggie or with anyone else you’ve tried to date, you weren’t doing it because of some savior complex, but because you just wanted someone you can love and care for.” Brooklyn was silent and listening, emotions running through him as he was embraced. “It means alot you’d even tell me all of this. Even if I didn’t think twice about the whole Maggie thing, it speaks volumes that you’d own up to what you thought or felt even if it meant I may have been upset. You know what that means?” “Hmm?” “It means I made the right choice in choosing a partner.” Theo revealed to Brooklyn fondly, reaching up to cup that muzzle of his and lidded his eyes as he locked gazes with him. “Most other guys wouldn’t have said anything at all. The fact you did say something, means you have integrity and a good heart. And I couldn’t be happier spending the rest of my life with such a thoughtful guy.” “Well…I’m clearly not a guy…if you hadn’t noticed.” Brooklyn smirked, leaned back to show off his humanoid appearance, slightly flaring his wings and waving his tail. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Theo wrapped his arms around Brooklyn’s neck and leaned forward, negating the other’s sarcastic response. “But how about after I get cleaned up here, I help you forget all about your past flings and the like.” Theo whispered into Brooklyn’s bat-like ear before giving it a lewd lick. Said gargoyle shivered in response before looking down at his human and smirking even wider. ________________ “Mmmmhhh that’s right; what a good boy, swallow it all.” Brooklyn growled, pressing down on Theo’s head as the gargoyle could feel the other’s chin finally press against his own balls. The human stifled a small gag, but had dutifully swallowed his lover’s entire length down his gullet. The duo were currently on the couch in Theo’s apartment, having returned from the Labyrinth Clan with a few hours to spare. The gargoyle was sprawled out, lazily drooping his wings across the cushy loveseat as he watched with immense satisfaction how the other dutifully worshipped his long spire. His eyes bobbed up and down in time with the human pressing his lips to the base of his shaft before coming up and nursing on the tip, and repeating all over again. The human wasn’t infallible however, as he eventually pulled off completely to catch his breath. The hung gargoyle’s cock bobbing with some strings of saliva dripping off it, as the human rested on his knees as he wiped the slobber from his face. “Mmh…god I wish I could…deepthroat it longer” Theo coughed as he gazed up at his fiancé hungrily. ”You can try…” Brooklyn cooed back, as he spread his legs and rested his arms behind his head. He sighed as he looked up in relaxation, showing off his lean yet muscular body. His chest and abs flexed somewhat while his tail flipped lazily back and forth. “Knock yourself out.” ”With how big your dick is, I just might.” The human answered as he dove back in, beginning at the gargoyle’s legs before steadily tracing up the body. Theo took his time kissing, licking, and biting all over Brooklyn’s skin. He never imagined worshipping the gargoyle - or really anyone like this - but things were different when you were in love. He traced his tongue and pursed his lips to Brooklyn’s knee before they danced up to the inner thigh. The gargoyle shivered and exhaled deeply before inhaling sharply as he felt his balls stimulated. He moaned and shook a leg as he felt each testicle swallowed into Theo’ soft mouth. He cracked open an eye and peered down below, seeing his lover burying his face where his sack met the underside of his shaft. The human looked back up and locked eyes with him, as if caught doing something he wasn’t supposed to do. Brooklyn gave a toothy grin, excited by the thought of his erect penis laying over Theo’s face. He subtly ground his hips into the human’s face, making sure he got a good feeling and whiff of his excitement. “Yeah you like that don’t you?” Brooklyn huffed. The human could only offer a needy whine as he nibbled, face turned sideways, as he traversed up and down the turgid spire. Theo’s left hand reached up to tug on Brooklyn’s nuts while the other hand went to play with the gargoyle’s entrance. This warranted an unexpected but pleased hiss, pressing back into Theo’s hands as Brooklyn surrendered himself. Theo’s heart rate increased as he was given full access. He tugged periodically at Brooklyn’s orbs while pressing a thumb to his lover’s tight pucker. He felt the meaty entrance and the textures gracing his digit, which provided a similar feeling to the sack he was kneading. He kept pressing with a firmer pressure, into both the testicles and the opening until finally the latter opened up to him. Brooklyn moaned as he felt the human’s thumb sink into him, clenching tightly as if to not let go. Theo did not relent as he then swallowed the red shaft in front of him, giving his fiancé a thrice fold sensation of both suckling his cock, squeezing his balls and getting fingered. Brooklyn’s legs got a bit antsy, moaning in delight as he was subjected to this lewd combination. However, before anything could significantly escalate, Theo pulled off much to the chagrin of his gargoyle. It was not in vain; however, as the human then clambered upon his mate, burying his face into the other’s chest. As Theo moaned contentedly with Brooklyn, he started to gently frot against his sweetheart and rub their shafts together. Brooklyn, meanwhile, was softly spasming with joyous rapture, thrusting his hips in time with Theo as he was ridden. There was a brief pause as the two began to move as one, their shafts hugging each other as Theo held them closely. Brooklyn’s possessively lathered over Theo’s neck and shoulders while his claws squeezed and pricked over the human’s soft skin. It never ceased to amaze him how different yet similar his human lover was. How his skin could be as smooth as his was yet different in certain areas. Brooklyn threw his head back, exposing his neck to be attacked by Theo’s kisses as the human stroked their phalluses in tandem. It was here their differences were evident: Brooklyn’s foreskin being tugged back and forth exposing the head briefly while the human’s cut length rubbed along the underside of the gargoyle’s. Brooklyn was longer, about ten inches in total while Theo’s was only a little more than half the length, but the latter had some more girth on him. Theo continued to grind against Brooklyn’s well endowed cock. Some sweat built up on their upper bodies while their lower bodies were instead coated somewhat in a mix of their pre. Theo’s trail of kisses eventually led right to Brooklyn’s waiting beak, the duo now passionately exploring each other’s mouths. It was almost unfair, given that Brooklyn had a longer snout-like beak, his tongue was a lot longer and easily dominated Theo’s smaller mouth, not that the latter was complaining though. They easily silenced the other’s needy moans as they held each other tightly, Brooklyn’s wings splayed lazily while his tail possessively coiled around one of Theo’s legs. The human caved first though, no longer holding out as he lifted somewhat, reaching below to shift the gargoyle’s red dick back against his own orifice. “Gods just shove it in me Brooklyn; don’t keep me waiting…” the human cried out. It did not take long before the gargoyle lined up and shoved in. Theo gave a pathetic cry as Brooklyn sank most of his length into the tight human’s rear, tugging the man onto his lap. It was an intense sensation as always, the initial penetration. If it was not for their many copulations, Theo definitely would have had a more painful time. Now, it was more a familiar pinch, with the slippery precum easing the connection for them both. The human whined as he gyrated his hips a bit, trying to stretch himself out; his own fingers clenching the edge of the couch as he adjusted. Theo then looked to Brooklyn, witnessing the gargoyle trace his claws down the human’s body, one hand cusping Theo’s rear possessively while the other began to teasingly twiddle with the human’s equally leaky shaft. Just briefly, the human could see the twinkling of Brooklyn’s ring shimmering across the necklace it was laced through, reminding Theo of his own silver band on his own finger. What occurred next was some intimate riding. Heated grunts accompanied the soft slapping of flesh as Theo bounced on Brooklyn’s cock at different tempos. Sometimes the human would oscillate back and forth or side to side to give his fiancé a differing experience. Other times, he’d let Brooklyn take command, leaning forward as the gargoyle would just pound up into him; squatting repeatedly was a workout as Theo had come to find out! Theo moaned, slumping into his lover’s arms as he let the gargoyle do most of the work as the minutes ticked on. The writhing human buried his face in the red neck of Brooklyn and entangled his fingers into the white, wild mane. Theo arched his back as he could feel the entire length of his gargoyle’s member fully embed itself inside as both took turns letting their heads hang limply or focus intently on the other. “Mmmh, I’ll never get enough of you, mi amor” Brooklyn growled as he let his fangs trace down the brown skin of his lover all the way up Theo’s black, curly mop of hair. He stopped Theo from riding further before he suddenly spun the human around. Brooklyn hoisted Theo’s hips up somewhat and allowed his fiancé to brace his feet on the former’s knees, riding him in a reverse cowgirl position. Brooklyn looked up at his smaller lover in a hungry gaze, guiding Theo to bounce up and down in his own rhythm, his clawed hands prickling at that bubbly human rear as he lazily lifted the human up and down. Meanwhile, Theo could only lean back, bracing his hands on the edge of the fluffy couch as he began to ride in earnest trying to get his mate to finish. “¡llename, papi!” Theo cried out as his own cock flopped about as he slammed down over and over again. He loved how possessive Brooklyn could get, relishing in throes of intimacy. Brooklyn couldn’t help himself as he latched onto the supple skin of Theo’s neck, asserting his dominance as he raised and yanked the human down repeatedly over and over as his instincts kicked in. Theo could do nothing but be Brooklyn’s plaything as he surrendered himself to his lover’s antics. His legs quivered as he tried to maintain a rhythm but was helpless as Brooklyn took over their dance and began to rut up into him with wild abandon; he briefly locked eyes with his gargoyle lover and for a moment, everything else melted away as each individual focused solely on making the other feel pleasure like they’ve never felt before. The rest of that night was full of other passionate words & acts that would leave any abuela more shocked than watching the climax of their favorite novela. Life had never really been the same for Theo ever since he met Brooklyn. In just a little less than a year Theo went from being homeless & working the streets, to now working for one - if not the - richest man on the planet as one of his personal cooks. In just a little less than a year he went from being kicked out by a family he once loved & trusted, to a clan who accepted & cherished him with open arms and without a care for his past. In just a little less than a year he went from feeling like he’d never find love, to falling head over heels for a gargoyle. It all seemed so…whimsical..no, ironically capricious. His life felt like one of those moments where you don’t believe it happens until it actually happens. Given his past, Theo knew he was not one to judge, but it was almost impossible not to when he found out about magic and cyborgs and everything else in between. Life with the Manhattan clan was never boring, he’d say that. Now, two nights after their coupling on the couch, Theo was pacing around near some parapets, much to the slight amusement of Eliza Maza - police detective, cherished member of the Manhattan clan, and Goliath’s lover. “Relax Theo, you’re gonna wear out your shoes going back and forth.” ”The sun is about to rise, and the clan isn’t back yet. How could I relax, Eliza? Please tell me, I would love to know.” Theo responded, his voice laced with sarcasm. ”And here I thought Brooklyn was the sarcastic one.” Eliza gave a soft smile, before sighing and looking back up at the sky, steeling her face somewhat to mask her worry. Theo just rolled his eyes and gave a dramatic exhale, resting his arms on the parapet as he looked out over the city. “Hey look…I get it, you’re worried about the clan, about Brooklyn. I feel the same way towards Goliath, everyday, and the big guy always comes back to me.” Eliza comforted, walking up and resting near an adjacent parapet. ”How do you deal with it? I mean…I know this comes with the territory, being uhh - part of the clan and all. But I dunno…I wish there was some way I could help. At least you’re a cop and can actually contribute,” Theo lamented. ”I deal with it the same way I would with anything else Theo - with trust. The gargoyles have faced countless threats, and have always come out on top. Trust Goliath, Brooklyn, and the others. They know what they’re doing; their instinct is to protect. Trust that they have a plan and trust they know how to survive. And then if something goes sideways, we go from there.” Eliza responded in a smooth tone, reaching out to rub Theo’s arm in understanding. ”What is it you said they were dealing with again? Some kind of turf war? Or is this another plot by that Demona person or wait..who is that Shakespeare guy again?” ”Nothing too magical or otherworldly this time…” Eliza started, trying to summarize what had been occurring for the past couple weeks - from Dino Dracon has caused ever since being released from prison, to Goliath getting arrested, and everything else in between. One could imagine the bewildered look Theo adorned when Eliza kept adding more and more drama to the ordeal. ”Wow…so you guys had to deal with this, while dealing with Goliath’s trail to determine his uhh humanity no errr…sentience? And before that you had to deal with this Thailog guy stealing the baby, your nephew, born from two mutate parents? Wow…I need a drink.” Theo huffed in exasperation, somewhat throwing his hands in the air. ”Yeah well…never a boring day with the clan.” Eliza sighed in defeat. ”And atop of all that, you got suspended from the NYPD because you decided to admit your love for Goliath, on the witness stand? …Do you want a drink too cuz I think you need it more than me.” ”You know, I think I’ll take you up on that once all this blows over.” ”You really think it will blow over? I mean…what you did…that was…” ”Oh, you mean that,.” Eliza gave a disappointed scowl, looking still forlorn. ”No that’s n-not what I meant, sorry…” Theo said before turning to face the police detective. “I mean what you did…wow…you told the whole world, about you and Goliath. No minced words, no beating around the bush, you told everyone about your truth and stood by it. Even if you somehow lose your job, you stuck by him. The cojones that took. I mean, I thought I had it rough when I came out, so I can understand how scary it probably was for you.. how despite the immense consequences you could face because of it, you still stuck by YOUR truth.” Eliza looked at him with sincerity, before closing her eyes and looking back at the skyline below. “Yeah well…don’t dismiss your own struggles either Theo. I may have gotten vilified by the public and maybe won’t be able to work for any police force again, but I did not lose my family like you did and end up, you know, surviving on the streets.” She looked up at him and could see the conflict on the young man’s face. “…now it’s my turn to say sorry.” ”Nah, you’re good…I mean, yeah, it sucked losing all my loved ones and getting kicked out of the only home I’ve ever known. But at the same time, it was a blessing in disguise. As twisted as it sounds, back on the streets whenever I huddled by the warmth of a back alley bonfire, or wrapped myself in an itchy blanket under a bridge in Central Park, it felt good that I could be…me. I did not have to worry about being shunned for being myself…for liking guys; The way I swung was no longer a worry, ya know? I had to focus on just getting food and shelter, not hiding who I was. So I guess, in a way, it was worth it, because now, I have a new family, and a boyfriend ah - fiancé, who are there for me.” Eliza was silent for a bit, before nodding and offering another smile, standing up and stuffing her hands in her red jacket. “Yeah, when you put it that way, I guess our guys are worth all the trouble huh?” ”Yeah, who knows. Maybe even one day, I could uhh ‘come out’ again like you did; though, I dunno if I’d blast my love for Brooklyn all over the news or anything.” Theo snickered, trying to ease this deep conversation. Eliza rolled her eyes, “I don’t think it will really be your choice. Like it or not, Theo, people are going to hear about the wedding bankrolled by one of the wealthiest persons in the world. Not sure how much longer you will keep your relationship with Brooklyn solely confined within the Eyrie Building.” “Speaking of bankrolled, how did you help Brooklyn get me a ring?” “What, don’t like the band?” Eliza teased, “No no I do! But we both know gargoyles, the clan, don’t really have money like that.” “Don’t worry about it Theo. How we got the ring raises suspicion for you, but not your wedding being fully funded by Xanatos and Fox?” ”Hey now, they insisted! Who am I to refuse such a gift? Besides, knowing me, I’m gonna be making sure the food is cooked to MY liking.” Theo chirped back. “Did you even RSVP for it by the way? I need to know if you want chicken or a veggie dish for your main meal.” A hearty laugh followed by a light-hearted punch on Theo’s shoulder was Eliza’s answer. They returned to gazing back at the sky, with purple & semi-orange streaks begin to grace the horizon. Theo still couldn’t help but nervously tap his foot as he waited. As if sensing Theo’s trepidation, Eliza spoke up. “Hey, my brother wanted to know if you were still interested in making the soup kitchen thing in the Labyrinth a recurring event? He said they all loved it a few days ago.” That seemed to do the trick as Theo blinked a couple times before responding. “Oh yeah..y-yeah! Of course! I’m down for that. They really want to make it a regular thing?” “Yeah, especially with the increasing number of homeless finding a home down there, it’s getting a bit challenging trying to coordinate food and other resources.” Eliza replied as she brushed a strand of raven hair behind her ear. “Say no more. When I was homeless, soup kitchens or community centers, they were a light in the dark. I’m more than happy to return the favor now. Plus, it gives me something else to do now and then. They wanted to do it monthly, right?” “Yeah, starting slow until they can get the community behind it involved and such. Half of these guys are still shell shocked from being mutated by Dr. Sevarius so, don’t be alarmed when you see them; they’re friendly.” “I’ve seen nearly all walks of life growing up in the city. Then stuff I’d never imagined seeing, once I met Brooklyn and the clan; not gonna lie, it made me a bit nervous seeing bugs as big as me or talking crocodiles or cats that shoot electricity, but after they all got to eating they didn’t phase me one bit.” Theo exclaimed, cool as can be. “The only cats that do that are my brother Derek - Talon - his girlfriend Maggie, and Claw.” Eliza started to list. “And these guys were experimented on by that mad scientist, funded by…Xanatos?” “Yup.” “And the evil clones of the gargoyles also live there too?” “They aren’t evil, they were just misguided. Brainwashed in a way.” Eliza gave a sheepish look. “Also created by that same scientist? So down there. It’s like a big Kumbaya? Nearly all the people who wanted to destroy you guys, now live peacefully down there?” Theo responded aloud, as if trying to emphasize how dubious it all sounded. “Hey hey - yeah it was a patchy start, but it all kinda worked out. My brother keeps them in check. And well, they all found a home with each other. I wouldn’t be asking you about this if I wasn’t 100% sure it wasn’t safe, besides my brother trusts you now and he’s always been a suspicious cat, no pun intended.” “And you all are just…cool with Xanatos now? Wow I never imagined my boss was…like this.” Theo blew out his lips, trying to wrap his head around all of this. “To be fair, you met him after all of that. He’s…different. I mean, I’m not buddy buddy with him but, I can at least trust that he won’t hurt the clan. Well, the clan trusts him, Goliath trusts him, so I have to.” Eliza shook her head and pursed her lips. “Well that’s a start. And hopefully nothing crazier happens from here on out!” “You keep saying that, and you are gonna jinx any peace that comes our way.” Eliza huffed, “anyways, you’ve seen how friendly they are down there in the Labyrinth, but if you don’t want to, it’s no sweat.” “No no it’s fine. Really it is, it’s New York City, I’ve seen weird, met weirder, and I’m sure you have too.” Theo gave a scoff a second later. “Really if anything, the only problem I’d have is Maggie; may or may not give her a stank look or two after I found out she broke my poor Brooklyn’s heart!” Theo exasperated, clutching his chest as if he’d been dramatically stabbed. “Brooklyn didn’t have the best of luck when it came to wooing others. First Maggie, then Angela, Delilah, Zafiro, Griff…got a list of people to get through if you wanna go down that route.” Eliza rolled her eyes. “Damn. Brooklyn got passed up that much huh? Well, good thing he ended up with his best choice yet!” Theo boasted confidently. “Quite sure of yourself huh?..” Eliza clapped back playfully. The two locked eyes quickly; the shocked expression of Theo met the focused eyes of Eliza, before both erupted into a full minute of whole hearted laughter. “Ouch detective! Didn’t know you got jokes too! All cops as funny as you?” Theo snickered. “Nah just me.” Eliza smiled as she stretched out her arms in a big stretch. “But hey, at least you don’t have to deal with Goliath’s ex who is hell bent on destroying humanity, the clan, and everything in between - me especially.” “Hmmm you dealing with Demona? Haven’t met her yet but maybe you DO have it harder” Theo agreed as he stuck his tongue out. It was quiet for another brief moment, the winds of the city dashing around them as the current periodically kicked up as the night slowly ebbed. “You know…it really is nice to have another human to talk to about stuff like this. I mean, you been in the clan longer than I and I know other people know the gargoyles like Matt and Xanatos and all them, but…you get it.” Theo added. ”Well, not much of us gargoyle lovers out there.” Eliza remarked wistfully as she leaned forward on a battlement, resting her head on her arms . Not a minute later, they could hear the tell-tale cry of the gargoyles, the faint screech into the daybreak signifying their return. Soon, the small dots in the sky turned into more distinguishable blobs and colorings. Both humans waved them down, the clan rapidly approaching Castle Wyvern. “Thanks for getting me to chill out.” Theo stated as he turned back to Eliza one last time, scratching his ear a bit in displacement. ”If you ever need to talk, you know where to find me.” She responded, as she gave a shoulder bump back to him. ”…you remind me of my older sister, ya know.” Theo thought softly. ”Sister? I didn’t know you had one.” ”Well yeah…come from a Dominican family, got a few siblings.” Theo stated as if it was an obvious matter-of-fact. “She was always kind and no matter how much I annoyed her, she always made time to make sure I was alright.” ”Did you ever keep in contact with them…your family, after you got…you know.” ”Not really. I tried but most would not even look my way, and the ones who could stand the sight of me, never spoke to me. After a while, I just…grew tired of that coldness. I saw mi hermana at a grocery store once, but…I didn’t approach her. I did not want to make things awkward or anything. But she’d probably be the only one who’d sit down for a coffee. Not sure if she’d understand who I am…but she’d be happy that I’m happy, that’s for sure.” ”Well, why not try? I’m sure I can be nearby if you fear anything bad would happen but from what you described, I’m sure she’d be happy to reunite. Besides, I think she’d be over the moon to witness her baby brother getting married too.” Theo gave a surprised look toward her. “Invite her to the wedding? A gay wedding to a gargoyle? Maybe when pigs fly sure!” He lamented incredulously. ”Well hey, after all you’ve witnessed or been told by the clan, you think pigs flying could be out of the question?” Eliza smirked before making space for the winged creatures to land. Theo was lost in thought of it all before a familiar red, clawed hand waved at him to capture his attention. “Uhhh hello, Earth to Theo. You there?” the red gargoyle asked. His wings folded back on his shoulders, giving that characteristic look of a cloak as Brooklyn hunched forward. ”Oh, mi amor!” Theo gasped, before quickly wrapping his fiancé in his arms tightly. Brooklyn gave a slightly surprised look towards his human before warmly hugging him back, burying his snout into the other’s neck and inhaling that comforting scent. ”I guess you missed me?” Brooklyn asked rhetorically as he pulled back and gently cupped Theo’s chin and neck, his eyes fondly staring back. ”What do you think?” Theo quipped back, before locking his lips tightly to the gargoyle’s long beak. Brooklyn softly groaned in the kiss, feeling the human’s tongue gracefully trace his fangs before pulling back. ”Yeah…I missed you too.” Brooklyn blinked, as if coming out of a daze. His own arms entangling around Theo as both held each other closely. “Also Theo…” The familiar voice of Eliza broke Theo and Brooklyn out of their intimate moment. ”You don’t annoy me. Not yet anyways.” Eliza teased warmly as she was still in the arms of her own gargoyle, the brooding Goliath looking back at his clan and then at Eliza, with a soft smile of his own. Brooklyn raised a brow before turning back to his fiancé. “Care to explain? I feel I missed out on something.” ”I’ll tell you about it, after YOU tell ME what happened tonight! You didn’t get hurt did you?” Theo worriedly retorted as he looked over his gargoyle. ”I’m alright, and I will tell you about it, tomorrow. Sun’s almost up and I want to give you all my attention when I wake up.” Brooklyn explained as he did his best to reassure his mate. After a brief back-and-forth, Theo grunted in defeat, sucking his teeth. “Ay coño! Fine, tomorrow then. But you better take me on a date!” Brooklyn snickered as he hopped atop a nearby parapet and squatted, looking out as the sun’s rays began to creep over the skyline. The rest of the clan took their iconic poses as they slowly began to petrify with the daybreak. “I’ll think about it.” Before Brooklyn could turn to stone sleep, he felt a sharp pinch in his tail followed by a tug. He looked under his wing and before he could respond before Theo gave him a deep kiss, followed by a quick yet naughty grab at the gargoyle’s loincloth, fondling his prize. “You’re necio, but you’re lucky I love you.” And before Brooklyn could retort his skin hardened to stone, his mouth agape, arms & wings outstretched somewhat. To the ignorant eye, it looked like the gargoyle was caught off guard as if frightened, facing the other way while his brethren faced the sky with their typical fierce poses. Theo gave a satisfied grin as he got the last laugh in a way. Good thoughts permeated his head as he bid Eliza a goodnight and returned to his apartment located a few floors below the castle. Eliza gave him a lot to think about, but one thing’s for sure, he was happy to have another person he could turn to.
