Chapter 8: Alignment Shift

Four hundred rotations of the sketched world had passed since Doctor Karl forced half the mind into prolonged hibernation. Chase woke to the disorienting sensation of having his mind working in two parts. Echoes like double-visions of his thoughts and experiences oscillated between his two selves. Around the arena legions of minds projected strength and encouragement as the moment of Chase’s reproductive completion edged closer on the event web. They were on the cusp of the creation of an entirely independent new mind where Chase’s dual personality would coalesce into two distinct identities. For now Chase stood as two entities facing each other in the arena. Both avatars shared the canine/human hybrid form of a male Great Dane anthropomorph. The arena susurrated with quiet murmurings of excitement, watching the event web and the sketched world where the refinement would occur.

For the scientists in the technical facility the experiment was another attempt to create a new Diamond Suit. They felt having two suited humans mate sequentially with an oestrous bitch would double the likelihood of the suits’ cloning. They were fortunate to have procured the services of the original canine where the first duplication had occurred. Doctor Karl donned part of Chase’s mind. The scientist was demonstrating the process of donning a gem-suit to clients in another part of the world. He took care to show the attentive audience how the crystal wave-front surged across his body.

The faceted orb flowed around his sketched outline, taking on depth in the Chase’s universe. In the arena of minds one of the canine figures gasped with the sensations flowing across his interface. The figure staggered against this twin form who braced his arms to support his mirror. The first figure buzzed with arousal.

Doctor Karl showed the clients how Chase’s reproductive organ was impervious to damage and kept the wearer safe from hazards. After answering some questions the naked glittering human made his way across the flat world to the laboratory where the interface to the other half of Chase’s mind lay on the paper world. Officer Wright held the second facetted orb in his palm, and pressed down to smear the crystals over his hand. Threads from the pearl led directly to the annihilation of worlds, and directly to the creation of a knotted tangle of event lists from a new interface to the other universe.

Chase’s avatar knelt and dropped to all fours at the same time as the human carrying his interface knelt before his partner. Like a needy dog Chase lifted his tail over his back to expose his vulnerable sphincter. His second mind knelt behind, peeling his own sheath back to expose his growing shaft. Like a dog’s, Chase’s penis was a long pink shaft webbed with darker veins and held rigid by an internal bone.
