Without his mask on, and catching him so flustered in this moment, he became much easier to read. He could have pulled his hand back and stood up, but he hadn't. At this point you looked up into his eyes. And your heart couldn't hold back what it wanted to say anymore. The most taboo feeling of all as you began to express yourself.
