(First Book) When 2 worlds collided - Background Info

This is chapter zero, or otherwise known as the background info.
Doctor Professor Nick Sheffield, a young, highly educated revolutionist. He works in Tesla City, a secret government city established in England. The city itself can be seen as an equivalent of the American scientific project "EUReKA".
Nick Sheffield is 19 years old and graduated 3 years ago. He made his master in astrology at the University of London and moved to Tesla City right after graduation. He lost his father when he was 8. His father was known for drinking and driving very often and had a car accident in which he and an older man got killed on the M25 south of London. His mother started to fund an organization which helps people to get back onto the right track.
Tesla City is located between London and Cardiff. Whereas EUReKA's facility of research is "Global Dynamics", Tesla City's main center for Innovation is called "Tomorrow Inc.". Unlike Global, Tomorrow Inc. is rather funded for mainly scientific and not military research.
Tesla City is actually very similar to EUReKA. Housing for families, local shops and restaurants, clean energy (Fusion Power thanks to Global Dynamics) schools, medical facilities and much more.
Nick was participating in a bigger project. It was a project that looked forward into traveling. Not like a traveling agency, but more like interdimensional. He succeeded but due to a system fault he was sucked into a funnel and was transported into the other world. The world that is being occupied by anthropomorphic animals. Nick has to find out what happened and while doing so he fell in love with someone he never thought of loving. He never was sure if he was Straight or Gay, but he certainly was as he began his relationship...
