Christian strode amicably through the headstones slowly and methodically into the day. His sights aimed specifically for a headstone within the abundance of stone carvings all throughout the soft green plains. Servicemen, Officers, wives, husbands, and families of all military backgrounds were all buried here. There was no distinction between the dead, everyone was equal in the range. Down the aisle of the dearly departed, there was an agony no man could conceal. Even as the American flag waved proudly into the clear-cut winds of the environment; a forthcoming sadness shadowed the silence.

And this moment was no cradle to the contrary.

In this young man's appearance, he wore a uniform that parted his ribbings and coated his body. Three chevrons decorated his chest sticker along the tactical ruddiness complexion, giving the young man his symbolic representation while the same décor marked itself along his cap.

Passing the gravestones was hard enough but the strain of knowing the few who passed; Christian's throat lumped as he carried the strain through the long walk. In his haul, flashbacks of his service started to emerge from the depths of his mind. The ruptured shocks of explosives, the pinged pops of bullets, and even the looming whistles of incoming artillery screamed in the backbone of his psyche. But there was a recollected memory that consistently made him suffer the most. The cries of the injured, grieving locals, and the wails of torn humanity ripped into him.

At the end of the column, the young man eventually found the grave he had been looking for. And when he reached the head of the ornate stone etched in the ground; Christian would fall to his knees and grip the headstone softly. Even with all the emotional drawbacks and the discipline he had, looking at the carvings caused all the bottled-up emotions to uncork and flood his mind in reflection. The tears rushed out like a fountain, flowing down his cheeks in suffocating rivers of sorrow. Heat had built up in his nostrils and lumps choked him in the essence of his grief.

This was the Christian he had tried to keep from the world; from knowing what he had become, what he had experienced. But most of all, he tried to keep his emotions bottled up to be someone who others could rely on.

And when he looked at the headstone, all he was reminded of was the cost of not looking out for a friend. There his friend laid, six feet in the dirt, dead, because of him.

"It is not your fault." A looming voice hummed above him. The young man didn't even turn around to look at who spoke to him, his hand still on the engravings of a name the voice did not understand. "You were not there." Christian spat back, his head soon turning. What Christian did not understand was the creature shadowing over him in its dark scaled, violet complexion. "I do not. Yet, I still see what you experienced in your memories. James did not die by your hands; you did not kill him." The creature continued.

Not understanding what this creature was that spoke clearly and correctly, the uniformed man stood and looked at the creature with widened eyes. "What... what are you?" He asked. The creatures' eyes were as bright as its scales, shining in the gleaming sunlight where it stood. Nothing clear and reflective could disparage his senses from recognizing the features of the reptile, even by its grazing tail, sharp claws, whipping tongue, and scarred body.

"A creation of your government, but that does not matter at the moment. What matters is your mind... and the pain I sense in you."

"My feelings have nothing to do with you. Just because you are all big, scary and could probably kill me in the heat of the moment; I will not let you talk me down like a damned therapist."

Such a hostile reply caused the now revealed dragon to cause his head to back up in shock. He did not understand why the human would spite him just for giving the intent to help the human. However, he did not waver and took a sigh in front of the human. "Alright, Christian. We'll talk this out, without going into your feelings." The creature spoke, looking into the man's eyes. "You must be aware this is a dream, correct?" The creature asked.

That caused Christian to cross his arms.

"I should've guessed."

"Good, then let me ask-" That was when Christian glared. "No, I will ask." He spoke, cutting off the creature.

The man would see the reptile close his mouth and let the human talk.

"Why are you here? Why are you talking to me and running me down inside my head?"

That question caused the slithering creature to close his eyes and nod, opening his eyes to open mouth and speak up. "Not to come run you down or cause you any harm. I sensed your pain and decided to discover what is causing it." Hearing the answer from the tongue of the reptile, Christian was silent, his face emotionless and blank. It was unusual for something to tell you it could feel your emotional problems, but it was even more odd to know this thing was suggesting to you-you were in a dream.

"So, you can sense emotion at a nearby distance?"

"If it is that distressing, yes."

".... that means you're inside my room, right now?"

"Yep."

Christian would audibly groan and place his head in his hands. "Marcus is going to be pissed... if someone touches his homework pile, he will not forgive me..." He would speak, causing the creature to chuckle humbly. "He is actually the first one I spoke to and we managed to come to an agreement." The reptile would smirk in turn.

That immediately caught Christian's attention.

"Oh? What was this agreement?"

Like a humbled reptilian, the dragon merely smiled happily and tilted his head slightly in remembering recent events. "I get to learn everything you humans know, how a human lives as a human while Marcus completes all of his homework and studying by at least a month."

"That kid is impossible."

"Not really, he was quite accepting of us."

To a surprising response, the man did not do anything for a few moments. It was not until there was a change in the supposed weather conditions that caused the uniformed man to look at the purple-scaled beast with even more questions of his own. "What are you exactly?"

"... Marcus and I just went with the term 'Dragons' just to make it simple."

"Fucking nerds..."

Implicitly, the dragon did not really understand the perception of what Christian meant by that; yet that didn't stop the dragon from continuing. "Arguably, you humans are very... different than what I was expecting." The male implied, looking Christian in the eye.

The human merely shrugged, staring right back into the creatures' purple, radiant iris. "What did you expect?" He asked, curious.

"War-like savages whose natures were built on making cultures and societies off of the pillaging of others." Replied the dragon, earning a chuckle from the young man.

"... eh, you're still on point. It is just a little bit off on the pillaging bit."

That earned a respective confused look at the human. "What do you mean?" The male queried.

Christian sighed as he would understandably sit on the grass. Even if the ground was not real, the man wanted to sit. "We normally like to wipe things off of the face of the earth." He responded, to which he earned the dragon's more surprised flare of emotion.

"Tell me, how long has this been going on?"

Looking up into the sky, the soldier gave a long, exhausting sigh before he looked back at the dragon. "This will take a long time... but if you're okay with changing the scenery to something a little bit more... comfortable; that would be spectacular." Christian noted.

With the flicker of the dragon's eyes, the scenery of the graveyard would shift into a magnificent blur. Through the dipping of headstones, the shifting of the grass, and the sensation that the air around them was being sucked out from their lungs; the area went from a sulking and grief-stricken area to a more luminous location.

A massage parlor in Thailand.

At first, Christian lumped over as he suffered a headache. But when the sights of half-naked women were walking around with shiny skin pigmentations and were swooning across the aisle to garner potential business; the man felt like he was in heaven.

"What is your name dragon?" Christian asked the male, walking over to the creature.

"Arcanus." Replied the dragon.

"Well, Arcanus..." Christian spoke whimsically as he would lean over and place an elbow on the shoulder of the dragon. "The name's Christian... if you haven't already known it... however, considering you are doing me a favor by making me relive my greatest memories. I will tell you anything you want to know as long as we keep on coming back here. And who knows... you may discover a little piece of heaven..." Smirked the man, still giving Arcanus a look of interest as there were many imagined women moving around him; causing Christian to nearly back up and let them carry him to his room.

"What do you say Arcanus... deal?"

"Deal."

"You know, I didn't expect you dragons to be so goddamn horny all the time." Marcus grumbled. It had not even been five minutes since he had encountered the crimson dragoness and yet there were five situations where either the female was approached by a larger black dragon or they had witnessed another female getting mounted in the dimly-lit tunnels. The dragoness, who had called herself Selkie, held the similar attributes of holding a familiar aesthetic of messy, unwashed scales in front of him. These dragons lacked any forms of hygiene, their scales having a glossy look of dried-up cum stains all throughout their bodies.

And the smell!

The stench of moist cum and sweat permeated Marcus's surroundings, making him haunch a tight breath whilst these large creatures of habit and mind continued forth.

All this Queen could do was laugh and the presence of the dragonelle's mind would reach out to him.

"Do not worry Marcus. We might be rough, tumble, and breedy; but our strength in numbers and in mental fortitude keeps us one step ahead of your... FBI."

To hear the Bureau's acronym used again, Marcus sighed. "To be fair, I am still trying to wrap my mind around about the government being after you. Shouldn't you worry about the NSA, or even the military stepping into the area and taking full control of the city?" The human asked. Even with his ragged clothing, stepping over the silky, hard ground that made up this material of silk was still something to get used to as he wrapped his mind around the very fact that this was bigger than he was.

Dragons wouldn't hurt him, would they?

At that thought, Marcus would see Selkie, like a crimson wall, whip her body around and stand in front of him. It kept the man from moving forward as the dragoness stood twice his height, an indication of her sitting on her hind legs to give herself the height.

"No we won't."

Marcus gaped at Selkie, very much confused at what she was saying.

"No you what?"

"No we won't harm you Marcus." She elaborated. And with that, she would let her eyes do the talking, letting him gaze into her golden eyes. In looking, Marcus could see the glow behind the pupil, a glowing golden iris that illuminated part of her face.

At that moment, there was a flicker which caused Marcus to illuminate another thought.

"Yes, Marcus. We are connected and yes... it is what you think it is."

"So... like a Hive Mind... right?"

"Yes."

With that thought out of the way, Marcus sighed as he would think about the implication of a Hivemind. However, as he continued, the dragoness spoke before he could think some more. "However, I would prefer if you thought about our debauchery. Comparing our actions as a primal instinct makes me want to invest in it some more." Selkie uttered. Just to make it worse, the motions of her tail flicking back and forth seductively didn't make her appeal much better.

Marcus could definitely tell Queen Selkie was more than eager to get down to the sexual bits while literally passing another tunnel full of moans, grunts, and the wet slaps of skin-to-skin contact. Dragons mating out in the open seemed to be common here and the fact this place was called a sanctuary was another implication that there were way more dragons doing this than what he was seeing inside the converted sewers. What was worse, the crimson dragoness allured a nearby black dragon that towered two times the human's height to follow by her side, leaving a nearby silk-green dragoness moaning helplessly on the ground.

Looking at the size of the dripping shaft trickling a puddle of white, Marcus could only fear the looks of pleasure from the green dragoness laying on her back nearby. Still, another dragon took the male's place and buried himself into the female, beginning the next sensation of breeding for the female. By the look of things, these dragon cocks were the size of his arm, making the human widen his eyes in realization of their mass and scale.

And yet, Selkie displayed her composure, even if engorged in a continued state of euphoria.

"So, Marcus; have you ever mated before?"

"No... not even close."

"Not even a feminine kiss?"

Selkie would sense some tension in the air around Marcus at that moment. It was easy to tell he didn't even get that. "Wow, if I could turn you into a dragon; you would be treated like a King." The lusty dragoness humored, looking to Marcus from the side. Marcus, however, was even more contemplative of the thought, causing Queen Selkie to laugh even more.

"Incredible Marcus, even deep down; you have some fascinating thoughts! Maybe if you wanted to, we could work on it together!"

"Work on what?"

"Easy." Selkie purred, soon beginning to delve deeper into the tunnels. Her paddles and sprinting dash into the sewer was enough to cause Marcus and the dragon to begin making a paced run to follow the horny dragoness. Sensing Marcus having a hard time catching up, the nameless onyx dragon lowered his body and motioned the human to climb on top of him.

Not wanting to run into a tunnel he didn't know too well, Marcus obliged and climbed aboard the male's neck and hoisted himself along his backside. There, Marcus tried not to get too wavered around the creature's talons, to which the buckle was enough to make the man widen his eyes and scream as the dragon sprinted at full throttle.

"Ayeee!"

To hear a human screeching out in the sewers, that would alert the dragoness even as she ran.

"You should not have done that..."

"Right... voice carries." Marcus voiced himself in thought, hugging into the male dragon while galloping further into the tunnel. At that moment, he wished he was a dragon, not wanting to deal with the utter scream he just bellowed. Even for dragons, they were smart enough to let their moans and sounds of sex be at an absolute minimum; a scream was enough for anyone on the surface to hear something.

"Let's just hope you're wrong... or things might get really crowded in here."

Whilst in the result of Marcus's incredible display of bravery, the human could be able to see several dragons beginning to rush throughout the tunnels. Whether getting up from fucking the nearest dragoness or patrolling, Marcus could see that these dragons were going to deal with anyone who had gotten curious. The look in the nearest dragons was clear enough his actions had caused this. Potential death was a thought he did not want to answer for.

"Keep it to yourself Marcus, these dragons have fought them before. Worry for the humans who still attempt to kill us."

Hearing the dragoness tell him to shove those thoughts out the window, that made the man choke up and cling even harder into the dragon.

"I still don't understand. Why would the government make you all but keep this all hidden when you and I are coexisting at this moment?" Marcus asked, just before he smacked himself out of the stupidity of that question. "Right, power and secrecy... that's what the good old government loves." The man sighed to himself, causing the dragon to pick up the pace. In regards for his talking to himself, the crimson dragoness would be seen slowing down; her body was now easily seen while the dragon closed in.

Upon listening to the human think and talk to himself, Selkie grew concerned.

"Hey, I said keep it to yourself. I didn't say have a full-blown conversation with it!"

"That's how I think Selkie!"

"Is that what humans normally do?"

"If they have something on their mind, yes. It helps get us through difficult problems."

"Ah... well, you were thinking about your government. You know what I think?"

"What?"

"They would rather kill everyone in this town just to cover this all up. Your government, by our experience, would exterminate us if given the chance. What would they do to you if you were found to be among our number?" Selkie implied, not including the very fact that the sewer walls began to shift into cavernous passage. "You would be imprisoned for terrorism charges or lock you in a cell and throw away the key."

The truth was a feeling which had the effect of setting someone free. The unfettered truth, this truth, it chained Marcus upon hearing the dragonesses' thoughts on this. It was uncomfortable, horrifying, and sickened Marcus right down to his spirit. What was worse...

Selkie was right.

She was so right.

And what was worse (or right depending on who was walking), the light became brighter and brighter. The tunnel, while the couple of dragons rushed through the deep cavern of rock and silk; the sounds of society began to gloss the shiny reflection upon the surface of the silk and the rocky foundation of the passage. It didn't take a moment for the dragon to stop suddenly, causing Marcus to nearly slide off with a small outcry.

At the peak of light and the overshadowing of large bioluminescent trees in the vast expanse; Marcus could only marvel at the complete size and scale of what he was seeing.

A dragon city with buildings and glowing wildlife.

"Common human, let's get you to your own sanctuary." Selkie smirked.

Christian had never felt so content with himself ever since the dragon first revealed himself to him. Feeling the suckle of Thailand women sucking him off and riding him like hungry whores. Memories of these good times reminded him what he had missed so much, even while the dragon that controlled the memories observed every detail of this memory.

True, this entire elaborate synthesis of memories had provided enough stimulation for the dragon to examine what the man desired. To Arcanus's benefit, he did receive the information he was looking for with similar cooperation between himself and the human enjoying himself. Christian enjoyed being the bottom feeder of this relationship, but pleasure was pleasure and nothing could change that.

Even if the dragon took his information from the human willingly.

What Arcanus discovered about the man was almost as appalling in revelation as the first time he found out he had a consciousness… when the humans first started to threaten his life in a bloody firefight! There was a great deal of information to stomach this time, a fact Arcanus would settle in sleep.

Whether or not Christian would like to admit it, his memories made the dragon look slightly more aged; as if the male witnessed a lifetime and experienced it tenfold.

Given at that moment, Christian knew it was time to wake up.

And when the dream was brought to an end, the first thing on Christian's mind was the mind-splitting headache he felt paired with the soreness of his body. He knew he played host to the dragon's desires, as well as his own. However, he did not expect to have a migraine akin to one of the worst hangovers he had ever experienced.

The man groaned in the afflictions of his headaches and gripped the seams of the bedsheets. Christian ripped them off his body in a dramatic and impatient fashion before taking the moment to twist his lower body to instinctually place himself in a seated position on the bed. There, the man would try to relieve himself of his headache by placing his left hand on his forehead and the right on the cushions.

He tried to get a feeling of his hands by feeling the soft mattress absorbing his weight and the soft material of the bedding; he felt sweat upon his head and soreness rubbing along his body frame. When he had time to gather his compulsions, there was a surprise to be felt: There was the dry feeling of cum all over his inner left thigh, enough for him to feel the contents along his groin.

Christian smiled when he knew that was real.

Then Christian's smile turned to horror as the same figure of the purple dragon entered his room.

“Fuck…"

“Yeah, that was both a dream and not a dream at the same time." Arcanus smiled. The very fact that the dragon's cheekbones lifted and displayed all those sharp fangs in an assortment of many toothy grins; Christian's horrified expressions nearly made the human faint in front of him.

Just seeing the color of the human's face drain of all color made Arcanus bellow laughter.

Bellowing laughs was enough to shake Christian out of his stupor. “H-hey! That's not funny, you scared the shit out of me!" He roared. That soon caused the dragon to sharpen his looks and pressed a single claw to his maw to motion Christian to shut the hell up.

“It was pretty funny, but you shouldn't yell so loud!" The dragon whispered in a shushing tone.

“Look, I didn't expect this. Sometimes I get fucking hammered and have similar experiences okay?" Christian implied, soon rubbing his hands all over his face in order to get him out of the mindset of being in such a mood. “To be fair, I don't even know why you were created. That is, you were created by humans right?" The man asked.

Hearing this, Arcanus gave Christian a deep sigh.

“Yes, yes we were. I don't know how and I don't know why, but you humans created us."

“Well… shit." Christian sighed. To hear the human make such a response like this, the dragon had to ask to sate curiosities senses. He could see the human beginning to sweat and shake slightly, his eyes were wide and a sense of terror lingered over him.

With a tilt of the head, Arcanus looked at Christian weirdly. “Your government?" Questioned the dragon.

That earned a nod from Christian. “Yeah... they will be after us." He implied grimly. With a single movement, the human would stand up in his raunchy sweats and walk towards one of the mirrors in the bathroom. “You have seen what we are capable of, right?" Christian asked of Arcanus. He even turned his head to look at the tall and imposing reptile in the room.

This question caused the dragon to cringe in what little thought he had of Christian's experience.

Seeing the reaction, Christian turned to the mirror and looked at himself in deep contemplation. The dragon sensed the human was terrified, anxious, and very much concerned for Marcus's and his friends wellbeing. “The government is capable of doing much worse. If they were capable of creating you, they are capable of killing you. I don't know who is involved or how deep this runs, but we are not safe here." He admitted, shaking his head at every horrible thought that came to his mind.

Arcanus stopped peering into the human's mind the second he started thinking about what his kin had the power to do at a whim. “What is your advice then?" The dragon asked.

Whenever a towering dragon of nearly seven feet in hind-height, that wasn't a question which Christian would ever fucking anticipate from a medieval AC-130. “The fuck? All I know is that the FBI is literally an investigatory body and the CIA is a unknown spyshadow all over our fucking nation. Knowing the government, the CIA, NSA, and FBI are looking into us without going public about it. Hiding like the fucking Iraqui's is the only thing we can do if we are not wanting to do shock and awe." Christian hissed at Arcanus, nearly causing the dragon to try and hush the man down again.

“Okay… Well, there hasn't been a killing or any indication of us being spotted by the government this time. If anything, you and I are in a position to get some people to our side." Arcanus implied, looking to the close-blinded windows. There was enough of an indication that the weekend was something to admire, especially when the student population in the local perimeter. He could sense a large number of horny teenagers and young adults 'exploring' themselves or their fellow classmates.

It was so much fun having this kind of advantage.

As for Christian?

He just shrugged. “Sure, we can do that, but we risk getting discovered. If you can be able to influence some people, by all means. Just don't get the people who work for the government…" Christian sighed.

All Arcanus would merely do is nod and smile before deciding to walk over into the kitchen.

“Deal, just please get some food for me. This is going to be a long day. I have the munchies."

“You do not have the munchies Arcanus."

“Why?"

“Because you would have another government body coming after you."

“Oh? And what is this organization?"

“The FDA."

“Alright, but get yourself in order; we have some people to influence!"

Location: Hive City designated as 'Dragon Sanctuary', Odessa Underground

What had once been considered a rock formation had been swiftly churned into a massive underground system. The sights of the illuminated caverns and the widened depths of an expansive and yet complex network of tunnels, dens, and even structured buildings whether wide, tall, or circular fascinated Marcus to the extreme. He watched as he held onto the black dragon in the flight, observing the lush and uncontrolled wildlife that had expanded so far and so wide.

Below the passing trio, the observation of sexual practices were evidently recognized as both the smell and sounds of multiple females crying out and males moaning out into the four winds were heard from even this high into the air. It didn't help that each dragon glowed with bioluminescence, causing the sight of wide-scale orgies to be seen as piles of dragon bodies stacked up. Whether this was the true nature of dragonkind or the implication of an organized body didn't matter… These reptiles were breeding at an exceedingly rapid rate.

It was not as if this example of mass copulation didn't already tell Marcus how they were already expanding at such a rate.

How bioluminescent trees, plants, and even dragons came to be in this clear display of evolution mystified Marcus to extremities. He looked down at the black dragon and he did not see any trace of the dragon's bioluminescence, even the dragoness that flew nearby hadn't coursed this direction either.

Possibly descendants developed more unique genetic traits and passed it on to who knows how many generations? Because from logical deduction, he knew that the black dragon and Selkie were definitely from an older generation of dragons. Just entertaining the possibility of genetics being carried, passed down, or evolved shocked the human, but he was more fascinated with the possibilities that came with it!

Nothing fascinated the human more than this reality of fact. The environmental conditions were tropical by far, and it showed that dragons either adjusted to establishing a new environment or terraforming it. Just noting the race was showing signs of hyperfertility displayed a concern, but the fact that this cavern was carved out, expanded, and highly developed? There was something in this cavern which guaranteed the dragons survival…

After all, life needed three things to survive: Food, a mate, and protection.

There were dragons mating all over the place, that answered itself. Due to the sheer size and scale of the hordes of dragons flying all over the place, the dragons definitely displayed their potential in numerical and strength in power. The one remaining question was food… but because there was wildlife developing all over the area, Marcus assumed food supplies originated there.

And while protection was sound, Marcus started to think about the females.

“Oh the females…" He thought to himself.

The resounding _thunk _of the black dragon landing in front of what seemed to be a replica of a house caught the attention of the human as he began to dismount the male. Even the tall and slender Queen of crimson managed to silk her way into the frontal position of the young man. “Here you go Marcus, this is your house in this city. We don't understand how your society works entirely, but we will try our best." Smiled the dragoness humbly.

Dragons smiling didn't make Marcus comfortable after seeing that many teeth.

Once Selkie saw the look on Marcus's face, the dragoness' smile faded away; the rest of her look displayed purely business. “If you need anything in the future, one of my daughters will be inside the house looking after you. She will address any issues that may occur in your stay down here." With that, Queen Selkie would move up to the black dragon and so openly rubbed her hips against his.

“Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some work to do."

Not even a moment that passed by, Selkie would sway her hips and make her way towards a distant alley between two large buildings across what looked like a stone pathway…

With the black dragon following close by.

Left alone to his own thoughts, at least, for the moment; Marcus examined the area around him. The flat surface he stood on was neither rock nor earth, a greenish silk which felt softer than cobblestone and had the sturdiness of metal. When he looked at the material in-depth, applying more pressure with his foot caused whatever refined material within to glow brilliantly. He widened his eyes and noticed the bioluminescence was within even this material. Eye candy was enough to describe this effect of material and his attraction for the dragons intensified even further.

What was even more apparent, this floor padding of silk extended to the house itself. He could see the fine-tuned structure was made of this similar silk material and the path leading to the front door was a spitting image of this fact. One instance of this difference in structure was the yard and the garden, which glowed brilliantly like a flickering essence of greater life. Whatever allowed this to grow, Marcus was sure it was even more powerful than what meets the eye. As such, his vision creeped upon how his house was surrounded by this wildlife, like a cabin huddled deep inside a cavern while a city was built.

Marcus could tell he was in the outskirts of this city and he felt the flight took a long time to reach this point.

Oh he was going to enjoy investing himself further with these dragons. Fortune smiled on him with their intervention with Arcanus's assistance on his homework, but he could tell the dragon was desiring knowledge for the sake of his existence in this world and why he was made. Humans threatened them and Marcus was one of the few they liked… Arcanus sending him here to be safe was a sign of this desire to protect…

Or invest.

Taking one step after the next, the young man made his passage to the front door; he followed his path to the doorframe and prepared to open it. Each step emitted even brighter sparks of light with even different shades of coloration. And when his hand touched the silk handle, the feeling of a strange substance caused the man to pull his hand away; it was so soft and yet his grip purchased something else. It emanated the hardiness of metal, but there was evidence of a secretion which somewhat oozed from the padding.

Instead of investigating this material, Marcus would wipe the material on his pants and he would knock on the door. This time, the silky door did not secrete any fluids onto his hands; but the impacting resonance radiated a bright and outward effect of yellow bioluminescence which spread from his impact on the door and spread throughout the frame. Even the house radiated a small ripple of this light, but the intensity was not strong enough to carry the light even further.

Once his knock carried in the intensity of light, the doorknob would twist and the door would open to reveal the dragoness who waited for him. What was unveiled would be described to Marcus as the most beautiful dragoness he had ever gazed upon. The female was of a unique shade of magenta scales and a young, slender body-frame. She looked young compared to the large dragons who flew, a sputtering of youth and the learnt mindset of a gentle spirit. Kindness matched her looks of appeal and innocence influenced the manner of her actions.

Once he gazed into her eyes, Marcus knew to respect the dragoness with her welcoming gaze.

“Come in Marcus, my mother made sure to make a den suitable for you during your stay in the Sanctuary." The dragoness was quick to speak in her noticeable nervousness. She was not used to bearing others this kind of treatment, but welcoming the human into his own dwelling for his stay was expected of her.

So, Marcus nodded and accepted her gentle nature and courtesy by walking in. “Thank you for welcoming me in." The man spoke with such grace as he walked in. He knew disrespecting her would be unbecoming of what these dragons were providing for him. Lest he forget, he was the guest and not the host. These dragons were humble, kind, and appealed to their own nature, so he would give them their right to live free and prosperous.

Covered in decorations ranging from hanging bioluminescent lights to the unique silk-strewn cushions and chairs; it was easily recognized that whoever made these cushions and designs were very specific to appeal to Marcus individually. His eyes resonated in the perfection and unique architecture of the living spaces and the stairs leading up to a plethora of bedrooms.

At the spire of garnering his observation of the living room, Marcus was quick to address the dragoness and bow his head to her. “This is a very well-made house, and I'm sorry, I'm afraid I haven't aquaintenced myself with your name. Besides being the daughter of Queen Selkie, who might you be, ma'am?" He asked, his display of complete courtesy was evident by how well he was being treated by these dragons.

More than what he could say for the retailing companies.

To be on the receiving end of the human's request to know her name but also commended upon such a job laid out; the light purple dragoness bowed her head and soon closed the door. “I am Aurora, thank you." She replied to the human in kind, so simply winding her excitement with the stillness of her tail and the tucking of her wings. The female shone the human in and so she would show the rest of the house to him. With a slight brush to his side, Aurora slid past Marcus from his left and easily rushed to the center of the living room.

“Are you okay if I give you a tour or would you prefer if you would wish to find out in exploration?" Aurora asked.

Marcus, so enamored by the majestic glimmer of the female's scales; he did not recognize the question as it was pointed out to him. “What?" He asked whilst his senses came to him.

She was so perfect to him that even as he eyed her for far too long, it caused the dragoness to notice his affectionate interests or points of lust by his human nature. That caused the female to understand a little bit of what he was intending, the human element and lack of control was an importance she wanted to explore.

“Do you wish to be provided a tour or would you want to explore the house?"

Taking the moment to take off his backpack and place it over to the side, Marcus stammered and nodded to the dragoness. “Uh… yeah, I am going to explore the house." The human answered in reply. He was wanting to at least focus his attention onto something else, not wishing further embarrassment for himself and the dragoness before him. Marcus would be quick to pace over to the kitchen, just as Aurora smirked as he would walk around her and nod in respect.

That was when Aurora spoke up. “Just for your information, the house has a second floor and a basement; do take care Marcus!" She advised, waiting where she was whilst the human directly headed to the kitchen.

Turning his head, Marcus would look over to the dragoness and smile in admiration. The twinkle in his eyes showed his appreciation enough, something the dragoness could see all the way from across the room. Awkward to see a human smile, the dragoness carried on his appreciation but didn't know how to feel about the smile coming back at her.

It didn't take long before the human went into the living space of food, drinks, and respite. There, in the wide berth of the entrance, he spotted a silken rectangular counter with enough space for drawers on the left side of the counters facing the other counters perpendicularly by a few meters. There was enough space to pass between the countertops, but the lack of a stove and any sign of electronics was the only wake of where the dragons were in their expansion.

Sighing, Marcus understood that there were limits to many abilities; but he could likely assume he was brought here to help in the dragon's expansion. However, their kindness and welcoming gestures gave the human the impression that they were of a moral race; so he would merely bypass the problematic issues of the lack of electricity and walk towards what seemed to be a pantry.

What could be called a stash of food did little to measure up to the sheer stack of fruits and vegetables lined up specifically for Marcus. The young man widened his eyes as there were no signs of produce he had recognized from this group. No apples, no peaches, not even an orange or a watermelon. All he could see was what resembled an array of strange, glowing, vibrant bioluminescent fruits that hung together in a pinged array of purple skin. Moisture coated the skin of the crop and the sweet smell of them was enough to make even the young man hungry again.

Taking that chance, Marcus shrugged and grabbed one of the purple glowing fruits at random. The feeling of the plucked fruit along the base of the object was as soft as a pear. He could see the vibrant glow of the piece and observed the coloration of it. With enough observation taken, Marcus shrugged and took a bite out of the fruit.

Damn did this thing taste so good!

Widening his eyes, Marcus took a big chunk from the piece of fruit. The secretion of glowing fluids illuminated his vision as the contents inside the crop made the young man appreciate the new tastes he was experiencing. Whether or not he was suspicious of the food, he didn't care much about it.

Happy and content with the product he sampled, Marcus turned around and started to walk out of the kitchen to talk about how good this piece of fruit was.

Until something sickening began building up inside his stomach. By the time Marcus realized what was happening, he would find himself exiting the Kitchen entrance to find Aurora. It was sudden, but he would feel a sharp pain jabbing at his senses, originating at the stomach and then growing throughout his body in vibrant intensity.

The dragoness would be looking at Marcus at the time, watching his happy expressions. That was until the human's emotions registered something terrible in his body and the man's smile turned into confusion as he would grip his stomach instinctually and lean against the wall.

Marcus groaned as he felt his stomach churn even harder, forcing him to bend over as the pain intensified. Aurora widened her eyes and called for help in a perching yelp. Not long after the pain started, the first effects of this horrific feeling began to escalate; first by an abdominal gag-reflex and then the gut-wrenching motions of his mouth throwing up the contents of everything he ate.

First it was the food… then there was blood. Marcus was throwing all of it up, everything that he felt that was already expended by his own internal organs. His own acidic reflex couldn't even account for the amount of fluids he was giving out… even the ones he didn't even want to know he had in his body. Marcus felt himself being cooked alive, he felt it in his head and throughout his body.

Looking at Aurora, Marcus showed his terrified gaze… his strength was leaving him and his vision began to darken. He could only hear Aurora trying to plead for him to stay awake and the incoming voices of nearby dragons.

The moment Marcus closed his eyes, there was something there… waiting for him. It was an unknown dragon he could see hiding in his psyche, waiting for him as he drifted close to unconsciousness.

At the pinnacle and peak of near unconsciousness… the dark dragon spoke.

_“Sleep, human. You are now ours…" _

Then, darkness took him.

Announcements!

Good afternoon everyone!

I greatly apologize for the massive delay, but after a time of trying to get my life together and also to endure the Texas Winter Storm that fucked many of us over; I am now able to begin returning to the writing theatre! Considering that University Life still continues to ramp up intensity, I will continue to do my best to ensure a chapter is made!

Thank you all for your patience and I hope you all will have a good evening,

Location: Odessa Sewers

The silence deafened the deep sewers of the city. Every corridor, chasm, and deep tunnel was a honeycomb of dark scales in the tapping of water. Nothing remained of the fecal matter that once drowned the area in its stench, no dirty water puddles were even combed in the local area. But what came with the absence of what came before, the influence of what drained the sewer still lingered in mass.

Here they waited for the humans above to come down.

Up above, the dragons sensed their numbers gathering in the city. Many humans were loading weapons and preparing for the venture into the sewers. Marcus's scream had attracted their number and gave them justification to embark into the area. Only a few of the humans who had some form of supervision over the operation had a headache over the briefing inside an undisclosed location.

Taken from the memories of the humans who had gathered to the briefing, they were here for more than just what was reported from the screaming in the sewers last night. The dragons knew what the FBI was up to and what they were going to do.

The humans weren't coming down to save Marcus.

They were coming to exterminate everyone.

A _Kill _Order.

Laying in wait, the dragons easily picked up the indications of the enemies mission parameters and a few who would conduct field experiments on the 'subjects' who would be 'incapacitated' from the following assault. Like a telepathic tether, the dragons who waited for the humans relayed the information down to the second wave, who then relayed the information to the greater Hive.

Every dragon would soon know the intentions of these humans, a fact which they would regret as a meager force of fifty agents would come from their vehicles and separately spread out to enter the sewers from the drainage tunnels and go further in.

Mistake number one.

To observe the mental apparatus as the supposed 'strike teams' moving into sewers, the humans had displayed no known understanding of what the dragons were capable of.

Mistake number two.

It seemed from psychologically analyzing their thoughts; the humans going into the sewers assumed the dragons were uncoordinated and lacked the numbers to deal with them. Five teams went in from spread out angles and their numbers dispersed to cover more ground throughout the sewer system.

Mistake number three.

Finally, in recognizing what they were dealing with and just how strategically outmatched these humans were; a single voice in the telepathic bond was heard as a familiar dark dragon started to emerge from the darkness of the tunnels.

"Attack. Kill."

At first, a small fireteam would encounter the first wave of dragons emerging from the dark and lanky tunnels. One was a former Sergeant of the Marine Corps and the two others were former cops inducted from public recruiting drives. The Sergeant would hear the taps and motions of movement ahead of them and ignited a flare. When he threw the illuminating stick of flame into the darkness…

That was the end of the humans as the dragons were already charging after them. The Sergeant roared as the other two agents fired into the crowd. Bullets bounced off of the dragon's scales in the short burst of gunfire; only a few well-placed marks managed to penetrate the underbelly of one of the dragons. That ended with the dragon being taken to the deeper tunnels to recover.

While the Sergeant and his men screamed as they were tackled and clawed to death. Their limbs and blood were scattered all over the place, everything was taken and brought into the Hive City for analysis. The only thing remaining from the three humans was the blood that was splattered all over the place.

Gunfire had alerted the entire team and the fatal end of the sergeant and his teammates explained too much to what was happening now. Too late was the advantage of surprise, but with superior numbers and tactics; gunfire would reign all throughout the sewers. Men and women alike would scream as they were picked off from being overrun by a simple charge or were surrounded… The field scientists who were with the team were captured by the dragons. They would have their entire memories absorbed by the dragons in the conflict and killed where they were standing.

Not a single human survived this attack.

Except one woman who was blackmailed and forced into this assignment.

At the end of three minutes of engagement, the dark dragon would begin to walk upon the more gathered elements of the FBI as their bodies were scattered all over the place. He was surprised, however, that two dragons lay on the floor of the entrance into the tunnel; dead. The male sighed as he would cover the eyes of those dragons who perished where they were. They had completed their charge in protecting the broods inside The Sanctuary.

And when the dragon finished ordering the other dragons to take the dead to the city and the human corpses for examination; Arcanus' voice would seep into his mind and the influence of the leader came swift and fast.

“Ancalagon, destroy the communication devices on the humans and then examine them. The humans cannot be able to pinpoint our exact home location."

“It will be done."

After the presence of the father of the species finished ordering the dark dragon to his duty, the now named Ancalagon would smile slightly before he would motion for the other dragons to start cleaning up. “You are so fond of them, Arcanus… let us see if Marcus is as cooperative as you think he is." Ancalagon spoke to himself, soon turning his head and beginning to return to The Sanctuary.

Ancalagon and Arcanus knew they had little time left.
