Missing Something: Chapter 2
Story. Part 2 of a series.
It's his day off, damn it all. The last three days have been hell, and he'd shouldered them all without complaint, so this, lying in bed peacefully, comfortably, he should get this. He deserves it. Instead, somehow, all he can muster is some inexplicable feeling of guilt.
In truth, the next he opens his eyes, August is surprised there's still even a single shaft of sunlight spilling through the east facing window of his bedroom. He rises until he's seated upright and, bare-chested, stretches his tremendous arms in the cool air of his condo, accompanying them with an equally tremendous yawn. Scratching at some minor itch in the fur over his ribs, the wolf slips out of bed and pads toward his bathroom door, looking forward to a nice shower with his memories of the previous evening.
Before he can get there, however, his eyes catch on something glinting innocently on his dresser and he scowls and grumbles something fierce. Kid left his damned keys. And August isn't the kind of guy not to take them back.
As he continues on his path to the shower, he thinks, There goes my day off.
The spray of the shower is already hitting his pelt, the fur forming moistening spikes and hanging heavy from his body, when August hears the tinkling of china and the scratch of the bristles of a broom clearing away the mess at the door of his bedroom. It isn't long after that the dainty footsteps of a young lion approach the drawn curtain of the shower and the respective dainty feet slide into the porcelain tub just behind the huge lupine figure.
August twists at the waist to behold this new—conspicuously nude—companion, only to seem him sink to his knees, wrap two lithe arms around a thickly muscled thigh and bring his lips to its first, eyes closed, brow slightly furrowed, chest heaving with the deepness of his breaths. The large wolf grins and turns bodily until he towers over the unmaned, straw-furred, rapidly dampening lion with both paws planted between spread knees.
“Eager for it," August says, grin and voice both dripping with smugness, “Aren't you, Finn?"
August isn't sure when he got hard, nor when he slipped most of the way out of his sheath, but he assumes it was not long after Finn joined him. He also knows that at his words, Finn immediately keens and rises on his knees to push his muzzle against the rapidly swelling base of August's cock, using a single dainty hand to slide the sheath down over the knot and tuck it snugly behind. From there, the diminutive lion begins to lavish kisses, licks, the occasional slight nibble along the lupine length.
August groans into the echoing, open air of the bathroom and curls a large paw to Finn's head, gently rolling his hips against the lion's jaw. “That's right, boy. Play nice." His free hand wraps around his prick and angles it down to point at Finn's lips, pre dribbling slowly onto his muzzle.
Without further urging, the boy acts on the implication—his mouth opens to accept the thick, throbbing member, slides in one smooth motion until the tip presses into his gullet and his lips press against the knot—aided only by a gentle thrust from August's hips. He moans wantonly around the dick in his mouth, and the attached wolf grunts in appreciation. Like following the steps in a dance they both know well, Finn slides back just as August pulls his hips opposite, before both press in, again. And again.
They quickly find a common rhythm, and—perhaps not quite so quickly—Finn works August to his tipping point. And past it. With one hand, wolf pushes lion as far on his knob as he can go without tying the boy's muzzle, and with the other, he grips himself just below his knot and shoots hot, thick, and fast down the swallowing throat wrapped around him.
Panting heavily, August rides out the pulsating pleasure, but murmurs, “Pressed for time, so we can't get to much more." He heaves a sigh. “But later, for sure." He receives a sigh of acceptance, finishes in Finn's mouth, then, hoists him up to have a proper go at washing them both. “Good, good."
It's several hours later when August finds himself returning to the silver sedan on the street where the encounter between the Baltimore kid and him began. As soon as he's parked just across the way, he fires off a text to a number on an “If Found, Call" card on a keychain, receiving a reply almost immediately:
its august. left your keys. meet back at your car?
Christ yeah thanks. I just got out I'll be right there.
The wolf turns the key in the ignition and lets the late Autumn chill drift over his vehicle. He observes that the front of the bar and, really, all the businesses along the avenue look different in the daylight, distantly ponders whether Geoff himself will…
It's only a half hour before a bus arrives nearby and off steps Geoff, who scans the street for a long time before finally spotting his car and making his way to it. August pushes the door open and steps out, flagging the human down with a wave. He sees what he believes to be a smile in response, but no change in that slightly swaggering pace.
August jaywalks toward Geoff's car, and the two converge on a point just ahead of it. When they meet, August pulls the formerly abandoned keys from a denim pocket and dangles them just out of grabbing range from Geoff.
“So," August chuckles, muzzle in a cocksure grin. “Drinks in exchange for the delivery service?"
“It's barely half five," counters the human, though he's grinning, and the other male is sure he'll acquiesce.
“One, then. I'll even buy."
“Hmm… Deal."
They're back at that bar, and they're talking over beers and hard ciders. Geoff is telling him some story involving his friends/roommates and their outrageously bad advice, and August isn't sure, but he thinks they might spend a great deal of their face time with Geoff simultaneously copulating. He also thinks he doesn't know them well enough- nor, honestly, care enough to know- to ask. But he laughs heartily, warmly at the story.
“You could've met them," Geoff says off-hand, “If they hadn't ditched me. Though I suppose we would've ended up taking a bus or cab together, so we might not even have run into you."
August snorts a brief laugh, then, replies, “Actually, I was at the door when you were leaving the bar. We'd have run into each other, at least."
Geoff's face scrunches slightly into a look of mild confusion. “Wait, but… So, you followed me back to my car?"
August's hands come up, placating, one open-palmed, the other holding up his bottled brew. “Swear on my badge, I just wanted to make sure you got home okay. Anything beyond that, to be fair, you kind of pushed for."
Geoff shrugs. “Well, I ain't mad about it."
They both chuckle.
“Me either."
A brief, not uncomfortable hush comes over them both, but Geoff breaks it first. “Not sure the same could be said of your…" He pauses, probing for the word. “Roommate?"
August shakes his head, and his ears flop ever so slightly.
“… Cub?" Geoff tries even more uncertainly, and he's met with an incredulous grimace from the wolf. “Well, I don't know."
August can feel his composure slip just a little bit, for God knows what reason, but however stiffly, he clarifies, “Partner. Romantic. Technically."
“Ah. Then, I—"
“No worries. You haven't stepped on any toes. “
Geoff sighs with relief, and August sighs with a completely different emotion.
“Good to know," the human replies, taking a swig from the apple-tree-emblazoned bottle in his hand.
August feels the need to dig a little deeper, and if pressed, he would be completely unable to express why, but he adds, “In fact, Finn—that's his name, Finn—was just surprised that someone had stayed until morning. Really, he, uh… likes when I've been about with other guys. Gets him going."
Geoff seems to be following, nodding with his cider at his lips, and could, perhaps, guess where the conversation might go next. But whether he can or not, August makes it clear.
“I'm certain he'd be greatly interested, if you wanted… to come back around? Maybe even meet him?"
Geoff looks away and is silent for a moment, but after just that moment, he tips his bottle back, finishes its contents, and meets August's gaze with a dark-eyed leer of his own. “I'm so there."
