Lonely was scanning the glistening sand for seashells, one of her favorite things to collect. She discovered some cowries and a conch in the sand and cleaned them, placing them in her leather saddlebag on her pony mare hitched nearby next to her huge escort's Shire stallion. Her hulking anthro pegasus bodyguard followed her at a respectful distance, his gaze ever alert and nostrils flaring out wide as he scented the wind for signs of danger. He smelled something and partially unsheathed his big blade, cocking his head and listening.

"My lady....something isn't quite right, stay where I can see you, please." Magnus ordered courteously, Lonely nodded, her burgundy velvet dress blew in the sea wind.

"Are you hale, dear Magnus?" She asked. He stepped closer, she kept looking for shells with him much closer than usual.

"There's a scent on the wind and some slight sounds too. Something stirs."

"Shall we depart, sir?" Lonely asked kindly, putting away her last shells.

"Yes, perhaps. If we are ambushed, I want you...no, wait. May I touch you momentarily, my lady?" Magnus asked, ever professional despite being from a barbarian tribe.

"You may." Lonely nodded with a smile; she liked Magnus a lot, her bodyguard had started to become a friend as well, he'd been a gift from her boyfriend's father. Magnus squatted and picked up the mule mare from under her legs and back, lifting her with a heave onto a high rock ledge, she settled and pulled in her dress and belt tassels close.

"Yes, good. Stay there, no matter what, I know you have a soft heart and wish to aid others, but I am charged with your protection, I humbly ask you do not leave this perch until I okay it." Magnus said, bowing with a sweeping motion quickly and pulling out his sword the rest of the way, nostrils flared; the horses grew restless.

"You have my word! Please be careful!" Lonely pleaded, she cast a holy shield and armor-toughening spell her priest friend Father Dixon had taught her before his sudden departure, surrounding the pegasus stallion in a temporary magic shield and increasing his resistance to damage. Magnus assumed a battle stance and looked around with a snarl, his fangs bared, heaving the air, which was thick with an animal stench. Lonely cowered on the ledge shakily and recast the shield spell on her bodyguard.

"Thank you, my lady. Ahhh...you stink, my lurking foe! Come out from hiding and face me, if you dare!" Magnus let out a war cry, beating his mighty solid chest, which was painted with barbarian symbols. The ground shuddered as his enemy approached, Magnus and Lonely's equine ears turned forward alertly. They both gasped. An enormous brown minotuar bull lumbered slowly toward them, drool leaking from his maw, his loincloth stretched by his monstrous male arousal as he eyed Lonely hungrily; it was clear what his intentions were. He was even larger than Magnus, who was the same brutish size as Lonely's mortal angel boyfriend James, both men were no runts. The minotuar bull was the size of a semi giant or ogre, Magnus thought to himself, but no matter. He'd fight him still.

"Come on! You won't lay a foul hand on that mare!" Magnus screamed, spit flying from his equine lips, the minotaur withdrew an elephantine axe from his back sheath, his manhood bobbing under his loincloth as he laughed lowly at Magnus, who snorted loudly, charging him with a whoop. Lonely shook in fear but recast the priest shield spell on the pegasus stallion and also a healing over time spell as well. Magnus drew his sword back and sliced the brute across the waist, spraying blood all over both of them. He roared at the bull, who drew his arm back and backhanded Magnus, who went flying but dug his sword into the sand to slow himself. The minotaur lumbered toward's Lonely's ledge and Magnus got in front of him again, feeling Lonely cast another heal over time on him, Lonely gasped and cried out as the minotaur picked huge Magnus straight up, something no foe he'd faced protecting her had ever done. Magnus kicked with his mighty equine feathered hooves and knocked a few of the bull's teeth out, but still the minotaur held him steadfast. Magnus neighed fiercely and bit the bull with his fangs, drawing blood as he sank his long canines into the bull's shoulder, the minotaur dropped him but got down and gored at Magnus with his mighty horns, sticking him in the flank, Lonely healed Magnus quickly as she could, muttering the spells Jacob had taught her in Latin. Magnus lifted his sword high and started to charge, but the beast-man kicked him in the stomach with a cleft hoof even mightier than his own, winding him as he went flying to the rock that held Lonely, dazed. Lonely was casting healing and shield priest spells as fast as she could, her arms shaking badly. Magnus had been right; she wanted to help.

"Magnus! No..." Lonely gasped; she'd never seen her fearsome protector come even close to being bested in combat, she considered selflessly letting the bull have her to spare Magnus' life; she wished to honor her promise to him, but she wouldn't watch him killed, she cared for him. "Magnus!" Lonely screamed, crying; the bull was pummeling him mercilessly, Magnus put up a fight and his big draft stallion tried to aid him, but the minotaur frightened him away with a savage roar that made Lonely cower. Magnus withdrew his backup dagger from a hilt in his boot and stabbed the bull in the ribs, but it was far too little. The bull rushed him again and Magnus passed out; unlike Lonely's boyfriend James, Magnus relied on offense, and couldn't take a beating like James specialized in.

"Magnus...forgive me, my lord! Please....spare him, and I'll go willingly." Lonely bartered despite her terror, shaking all over and hopping down, arms up and standing before the limp form of Magnus bravely despite cowering. The minotaur eyed her ravenously and laughed lowly, drooling again, he roughly pawed at her and turned her head, looking her over as breeding stock for himself and his clan. The bull snorted deeply and tied Lonely's wrists together tightly with a leather thong and held the other end, he started to lead her away, she quietly muttered a series of healing spells on Magnus as she was roughly dragged by the bull, she fell and was dragged behind him as she fought to keep up, but he was 8 times her size and she couldn't match his gigantic strides.

The bull led Lonely through a treeless bog that reeked of sulphur, she kept her head hung down as she tried to keep up behind her captor, who, she was grateful for, hadn't turned around since tying her. He yanked her ties and she fell again forward into the peat, her beautiful dress soaked and muddy, her full hair clinging to her face, she was crying softly, frightened. Suddenly her captor turned his ears forward, tossing her aside like a ragdoll, she cried out and stayed low, knowing better than to fight the giant. Hoofbeats echoed through the bog, which normally was impassable by horse, but the hooves had been enchanted with lightning magic, and they crackled with each stride of the two stallions coming in fast, breathing heavily and roaring thundering neighs.

"Baby!" Lonely cried, her voice desperate and frightened, "Be careful, my love! Magnus, oh, you're all right!" Lonely gasped with a shudder, the men wished to tend to and comfort her, but the enraged look in their eyes told her things were about to get violent. Lonely crawled away and hid out of sight under a thorny bush, she saw the 8 hooves of James' trusty Belgian stallion Diablo and Magnus' Shire stallion Crusher. She heard steel clanging and saw blood splattering all over, so much it sprayed even where she hid, she was afraid and tired but still she cast more priestly spells on both men as they savagely tore into the minotaur with a ferocity she'd never seen in them, both James and Magnus completely overtaken by sadistic, maddening battle-lust.

"If you touched her, if you hurt her, I swear to Christ I will rip out your intestines and feed them to wild swine! To me! Yes, me, you revolting filth, I'm going to kill you..slowly." James huffed, tanking the minotaur and keeping his attention on him, his ebon wings spread wide, the bull landed mighty jarring blows on James' thick spiked shield, behind him, Magnus was beserking in full offense attack mode, sending massive amounts of blood and gore flying. The bull backhanded both men and sent them crashing into the ground, their armor clanging, Lonely gasped and recast more healing spells on them, but the tide had turned, and it was clear they were too hot-headed to stop; they were going to kill the foe for his fatal transgression of kidnapping her.

"Die, putrid slime!" Magnus roared, his eyes crazed with battle lust. James and Magnus both flapped their mighty black and white respective wingspans and dodged the bull's increasingly uncoordinated attacks, Lonely whimpered watching the fearsome bloodbath. James screamed in complete enragement and cast an enormous ball of lightning at the brute, savagely electrocuting him and making him convulse, blood spraying from his weakened muzzle; James lifted his morningstar over his head, his huge biceps and chest widening, and with a scream of out-of-control-savagery he planted the heavy spiked ball on chain into the minotaur's skull as behind him, Magnus impaled him with his longsword through his spine; blood and bone and brains spattered everywhere, Lonely felt her stomach heave and she crawled quickly to the side of her hiding place and threw up from beholding the gory, violent scene. The minotaur fell with a thunderous crash and convulsed, bleeding out, as Magnus and James both beat their hulking chests and roared their gruesome victory, covered in blood and gore. Lonely was still shaking; this was so unlike her normally gentle James, though she knew and accepted he had a hot temper that he'd always protected her from. James spied her and some of his male killing instincts eased off, he rushed to her side, accidentally being more rough with her than he ever normally would in his adrenalized state.

"Lonely....my baby girl...my beautiful....my precious flower......oh I love you....darling, did he....did he hurt you, tell me, are you hale my darling rose? Lonely?" James begged, accidentally pawing at her in his gory armor and shaking, she tried to reply and kiss him and he grabbed her rougher than he meant to and hotly kissed her face and neck, holding her close possessive and protective, pulling her close as can be in his raven wings and burly arms.

"James....JAMES!" Magnus knocked James over the back of his head with his armored glove, bringing him to his senses; Magnus was used to the bloodlust, but he could tell James wasn't. "We are frightening her! She's too polite and sweet to tell us, but we are. Ease off." Magnus pulled James backwards physically and James struggled and floundered, reaching out for her with his arms and wings like a young boy being seperated from his favorite toy.

"No, no Magnus, wait! I....oh...baby girl...I'm so sorry, oh, how dreadful you had to see all that! I'm sorry darling, forgive me, forgive us! We..." James stammered, more like his normally sweet and bashful self, again Magnus whacked him.

"James! She loves you, I see it in her eyes, but she's traumatized. Come, man, let's get her to a healer. Lonely...I'll properly thank you another time, dear little lady. Did the brute hurt or touch you, little one?" Magnus asked fondly, James bit his hand and shook in concern and rage, terrified his beloved girl had been harmed. Lonely tried to snap out of her PTSD daze and shook her head fast.

"No, my lords! Thank you so much, Magnus, I'm so pleased to see you hale! James...darling...I love you!" Lonely and James lunged at each other passionately and Magnus broke them up with sturdy arms and a loud whinny.

"Enough, love birds! Come Lord LightningSword, let us get her to a healer." Magnus reminded.

"Yes, immediately!" James shouted, still worked up from the bloodlust, they both lifted Lonely onto Crusher behind Magnus as if she weighed nothing and took off at a frantic gallop, Lonely holding onto her protector tight as her big boyfriend took up the protective rear on Diablo behind them, the thunder of their steed's huge hooves deafening. Magnus secretly pondered how he was going to make this up to James and his father, although the gentle giant hadn't been a bit angry at him, only crazed with worry for his girlfriend. This weighing heavy on his mind, he shook the reins as they all rode swiftly onward.
