He was pleading to be allowed to help me. that had to hurt a lot. i didn't remember my ever begging to help another detective. his past with gideon must been very different. i refrained from asking what had happened.

It seemed like that i was going to get to see mark again. it had been ages since i'd even spoken to him, but this was important enough to me to promote a meeting between us.

I knew that artemis was referring to reed huxley. it was going to be nice to see him again. but before i could reply to artemis' statement, sallee, jo, and shane entered the den. and boy, jo and shane looked relieved to see me.

I had to admit... i was impressed with these things. josh and i exited the mansion through dominic's office, on to the back patio deck and we both headed around to the front driveway.

I called mykaelic over and pointed to the opening above. mykaelic placed a coil of sturdy rope around my neck, then held me and flew, or rather, hovered straight up to the opening.

Finally, i was released from the private hospital and allowed to return to chess headquarters. i had to report to danath gaul first.
Act IV
Maybe danath wanted to see how i could handle being on my own for a change. at any rate, it gave me something to do. i proceeded back to the headquarters to make preparations for this mission. i went to bed early and awoke around 3:00 a.m.
Act III
But jesse was not to be so lucky. he drove the jeep straight into the cube of fire! there was a terrific explosion! i knew jesse had been killed instantly. but i had no time to grieve. thalia was making an arc to check on her handiwork.
