"The Little Death"

Bliss.

It always amazed him how the most basic sensations that were universal to all, were nearly indescribable. Bliss was a good word, a wonderful word, but still it failed him. It didn't even come close in describing where his mind and body were at.

His nails dug into the mattress, gripping the white sheets as his paws balled into powerful fists. Breathing seemed to become both difficult and easier at the same time. It made keeping his body going in such a primal motion almost difficult. Her lips pressed against his skin, fingertips tracing along his face gently. Small explosions of ecstasy ran the lengths of his body; almost as if they transferred like electricity from hers to his. His paws ran along her soft calico fur on her back, pulling the feline closer to him in a maddening lust. Her nude body was perfect; again a description failed by words. Her legs, wrapped around his back, kept him locked in place as her paws explored his body, only adding to the growing explosive pleasure that boiled within him.

The mink stared down into the feline's brown eyes from above, feeling the tiny beads of sweat grace his brow. There was so much to say with one look into those hazel circles of eternity. However, what they spoke back into his own eyes was exactly what the mink was thinking. Thoughts that could not be verbalized, because society had not the adjectives to properly describe them. To try, would be a sin all in itself. Regardless, they said the same thing his own eyes did. They spoke of the natural, primitive want. The basic desire they both felt as their motions became fast, and their breathing more choppy. He felt her claws sink into his back in both a painful and pleasurable way.

She cried out slightly as he bit his bottom lip, trying to stay the release they both desired in exchange for the longevity they both craved. His heart seemed to beat in sync with hers, her blood vessels connecting to his own as they both seemed to ascend to something greater, somewhere where they became one complete whole.

His body trembled as his muscles seemed to lock in place. He felt the pending explosion building to a point where it could not be quelled. He could feel it growing inside her as well; her almost inaudible mewing agreed. He slowly began to pull away from her, but the calico arched her back, forcing her body upward into his, trying to draw everything from him.

"Don't worry, baby..." He heard her angelic voice whimper to him in a tone that would make angels cry. "I'm safe..."

Letting himself fall back into his calico, he could do nothing but comply. He was not only bowing to his urges, but to her lustful, yet passionate yearnings. He wanted her, needed her, couldn't bear a second of not being connected with her. Her arms pulled him in closer to her, no room between the lovers bodies.

His paws wrapped around fistfuls of her long, straight chocolate and cinnamon hair, which felt like quicksilver between his fingers. Her cries and mews of pleasure and relish came in quicker intervals. She raised herself off the sheets, pressing her muzzle to where his neck met his shoulders, nuzzling that sweet spot where a lover seemed to belong.

His teeth locked together as his muscles went ridged and his body locked.

Her pupils dilated as she gasped sharply, feeling everything align within her body.

Time stopped for the two as everything they had been working toward transformed into the fury of a mental ion storm. All the primal driven natures, all the ecstasy filled bliss, the lustful want, the passionate yearning; all of it seemed to combine into one erotic climax of mind and body that merged the two for a few brief seconds that lasted a lifetime...

The mink collapsed on top of her, feeling his body shake with fatigue from the whole experience. Bracing himself on his elbows so he wouldn't smother her, he stayed fixed in their position, her beneath him, legs still locked behind his back. His heart crashed with a deafening beat between his ears as it slowly attempted to return to normal. His fingers caressed the side of her muzzle, which was only a few inches from his own. Her eyes had instinctively slid shut at the very end; almost like the reaction of a passionate kiss.

"It is..." the mink began through his gasping for breath, "...ungodly... how good... you make... me feel." He panted slowly.

"Yeah, you're welcome..." His catgirl replied quietly, gaining her own breath back, "...you're no slouch yourself..."

The mink couldn't help but give off a slight chuckle; as much as his panting would allow. "If Jenna could only hear you..." He said in a sarcastic tone.

"Smooth, Mick... talking about another girl while you're enjoying the afterglow of her best friend..." The calico teased him, as Mick could see no contempt in her soft hazel eyes.

"Shut up, Abby..." Mick hissed, nipping her ear playfully. "Do you realize how much shit that girl would give you for this?"

Abby nodded, eyes sliding shut again. "Yes. Then I'd have to fire her, and that means I'd lose one of my best waitresses and friends, and I'd be pissed, so I'd have to beat your ass..." She explained simplistically.

"Beat my ass, huh?" Mick asked the calico beauty. "If beating my ass is anything like this, Hell, I'll go tell Jenna!" He laughed as he thought for a moment. "Besides... who's to say her and Alias aren't doing some grunting and groaning of their own?"

With that, Mick let his body fall to the side and away from Abby, breaking their connection. He fell onto part of the bed they had not been using, thus he felt the cold sheets lick his hot sweaty body. Abby momentarily rolled over slowly, letting her right arm fall across him, as she pressed her head to his bare chest of brown fur. In all honesty, Mick loved it when she did that, only he wasn't going to tell her.

Mick tried to push her away from him in a playful, yet gentle way. "Get on your side!" He teased. "You're going to get mine all hot!"

"Your side?" Abby scoffed dignified. "It's my bed, so I think every side is my side!" Mick felt her latch both arms around his body, as she laid her head back down on him. "And I don't care what kind of guy you are, as long as you're in my bed, I'm cuddling with you. So get use to it."

"These terms negotiable?"

"Unless you want to find your naked-ass out on the street at four in the morning, then no, they aren't."

"Well, if you twist my arm..." Mick mumbled, a smile still painted on his muzzle from the erotic feelings that blazed through their bodies. Mick didn't mind having the feline curl up next to him as she did after they slept together. Sometimes she'd be half asleep and half awake, and Mick could feel her vibrating chest when she began to purr. When they first started doing this, he had teased her in good nature, which had caused her considerable embarrassment. Eventually, it just became something he was used to, and almost looked forward to.

He could tell she was falling asleep when her paws instinctively began kneading at his chest gently. Abby kept her claws very well manicured however, never causing him any discomfort. With his left paw, he gently brushed some of her hair from her face.

Abby Thrace was something else.

Maybe it had been nothing. Maybe that first night she had been feeling lonely and any half-way decent guy would have been fine. Or maybe, she had been waiting on him. She waited to cash in on a debt they both seemed to feel toward the other. Abby had made herself very clear, she wasn't looking for anything serious. Just a friend wanting to help out another friend. Mick knew how male/female politics played out down in The Underground. He liked Abby; a lot actually. But anything more than physicality would just be too much for them both right now. He had successfully avoided liplocking with her, as that would be just a little too intimate. Didn't mean his lips hadn't traveled elsewhere. Besides, Mick had a feeling his feline lover felt the same way. They cared about each other, and in a non-romantic implication, being there sexually for the other was about as caring as one could get.

Things in The Underground were odd like that though. The black market that had formed in the fractured cracks of society seemed to almost operate independent from that of everything else. It was like going through the looking glass of what people considered "today's society". It was a lucrative, dangerous place, but if one found a niche, the world of darkness could become your oyster. Contrary to its name, The Underground was nothing subterranean. It was simply a network of people who could and usually would do things for a price. Anything for the right price. Mick had found his place among the illegal deal of arms in this black market of people. His philosophy was that everyone had the right to protect themselves; he simply provided the means. Someone like his friend Alias was one of those people. However, he knew the black fox was more of an offensive person. In this hostile environment, you almost had to be.

Some people would try and convince Mick that his trade, weaponry, was the root of all evil.

Absolutely not the case.

If people were really going to assign evil to an inanimate object, it would have to be money. Money would bring the worst out in people. The concept that greed was a good thing was taken very much to heart around here; however they never called it pious. It was amazing how easily the right amount of money could corrupt people; good people. The Underground saw its fair trade in currency, so much that people had started fighting over control of it. It was a war declared between anyone and everyone. There were no alliances to anyone, only those who you trusted more than others. Mick was a player in this war, so was Alias. One was an arms dealer, the other an assassin who didn't have an issue killing for profit. Perhaps you did have to sell your soul living here. However, it was simply where Mick was in his life. His lifestyle had kept him alive this long, so he learned not to question it. Tragic? Yes. Depressing? Absolutely. Necessary for survival? Undoubtedly. So, it was times like these when he could feel the affection of another person that he somehow forgot his whole role in the madness of The Underground. It was a sense of relief and comfort he could only find in his feline lover.

"You think Jenna would tell me?" Abby asked, head still resting contently on Mick.

"What?" Mick asked. "You mean if they were having nightly excursions like this?"

"Mmmhm." Abby confirmed nodding; head rubbing against his chest.

"I think if they were, and she didn't, it probably wouldn't be her choice. Probably Alias would make her take, like a vowel of silence or something." The mink assured his lover. "Hell, the guy has to be stressed. Getting laid would do him some good."

Abby laughed. "Yeah, maybe. You'd think as much as they go out of their way for the other, something would have happened by now." She paused for a moment, thinking of the odd pair of foxes who cohabited in the same apartment, yet claimed to be just friends.

Mick had first met Jenna a little over half a year ago in the city of Palamont. At that point, both she and Alias were on the run from someone by the name of Xen Hets who basically ran The Underground in that city. Mick had seen Alias a lot of things, but sympathetic had never been one of them. At least until Jenna came into his life. Hets wanted Jenna for ransom against her father, and Alias was the means by which he apprehended her. Mick didn't know for sure, but he had a good guess at why. Eventually Alias proved everyone wrong by showing he did have a heart when he chose not to hand her over. It was a long, drawn out process that nearly cost them all their lives, but in the end Alias took down Hets's organization and the bastard disappeared that night. From there, Alias and Jenna somehow adopted a mutual trust for each other. Of course it was simply his speculation, but Mick always thought that they realized that they truly only had each other at that point. Now, wherever one was, the other was never far behind.

"Then again, I don't know what it's like not remembering the majority of my life, but it's whatever." Abby continued, sighing in sleep as she cuddled against his chest.

Then there was that.

Alias was like Mick; he didn't talk about his feelings because it wasn't anyone's business. However, it was hard not to notice the effects Alias's amnesia took on him. Simply stated, Alias didn't remember who he was. That was the cold fact; he simply couldn't remember anything prior to about five years ago. When he first started doing business with Mick those many years ago, the mink had been curious about who this enigmatic assassin was. Mick poured months and quite a bit of money into doing background checks on Alias, trying to find anyone who knew anything about him. But it was like he spontaneously came into existence. He had no social security number, no birth certificate, nothing. There was no record of a black fox fitting his description anywhere. It was easy to believe Alias's story by his demeanor. He'd drink to keep the frustration of not knowing anything about himself to excess. Mick couldn't exactly say he wouldn't be doing the same if it were him. However, that wasn't what concerned Mick. What concerned him was what Alias was capable of.

"I have my theories, but what do you think that's all about?" Mick asked.

However, Abby could only shrug at this. "Slipped one day and bumped his head in the shower? Post-hypnotic suggestion? Alien abduction?"

Mick laughed at her last suggestion. "Alien abduction?"

"I don't hear you coming up with anything better..." The calico muttered.

"Well, I suppose the truth is out there."

Balling her paw into a fist, Abby punched Mick in the side hard enough to get a quick reaction from him.

Mick jerked as her fist met his side. "Hey!" He cried out through stifled laughter. "Easy!"

"You asked for that one. You wonder why Jenna always gives you shit, well go figure when you're always being a smartass." Abby grumbled. "Really though, I mean you've seen what he can do. How ridiculously good he is at... well, what it is he does. If you had mad skills like that, why hasn't there been anyone down here to look for him?"

"What about the Shadow Player?"

"That psycho who beat the hell out of you at Waverly Hill?" Abby asked.

Mick scoffed under his breath. "You make it sound so bad when you put it like that..."

"He was more likely trying to kill you both." She continued, ignoring him. "We don't even know who the hell he is, much less what he wants. Hopefully, he doesn't know who we are either. There has to be someone who's looking for him, without an agenda to put him down. I mean, if the Shadow Player were just trying to get in touch with Alias, why go to such an extreme?"

Abby had a point. Alias was by far one of the most talented soldiers of fortune he ever had worked with. He had a pain tolerance that went beyond insane. He didn't have a reaction time. No, it was more like an instinct of what to do. Having seen Alias in a fight, Mick almost thought Alias knew the moves before they went into play. His bones were so strong it would take a sledge hammer to fracture them. It went beyond unnatural. No one, no fox, horse, mink, anything, could take the abuse he did and live to tell about it. Not naturally. You couldn't fall off a speeding car, going nearly eighty miles an hour, and then tell of it later. Alias had on both counts. Honestly, he should have been dead so many times over. Mother nature hadn't gifted Alias with his abilities. But who or what had; that was another matter entirely. Something he had spent hours in his head trying to figure out. He never brought up either of Alias's personal issues around him. It was like an unspeakable taboo that if you knew anything about the fox you knew not to even go there. But every once in a great while, Alias had slipped, letting out small confessions regarding his state of being. Collectively over a time, Mick had started to piece the puzzle together.

"I don't know, but I'm too damn tired to try and figure it out now..." Mick replied, voice tainted with sleep; his brain refusing to go down the Alias mystery tonight.

"Meeting tomorrow?"

Mick nodded. "Yeah, nothing out of the ordinary. Wanna get together after?"

"Can't..." Abby turned him down. "Late shift at Delirium... there till last call..."

Mick listened, as he felt the familiar vibrations reverberate from her chest to his as she lost herself in sleep. He wouldn't be surprised if in a few minutes her paws began kneading his chest softly, which would cause him to eventually drop off to sleep as well.

However, before sleep came to Mick, he heard a different kind of vibration. It wasn't the deep purring sound from Abby, but something much more high pitched. Looking over at the night stand next to her bed, Mick saw his cellphone walking slowly across the hard wood surface, vibrating quietly. Reaching out with his left arm, he moved slowly as not to disturb the sleeping catgirl.

As his fingers met the smooth plastic, he couldn't help but wonder who on earth would be calling him at this hour? He guessed it could be a client or supplier that wasn't from Arcadia and in a different time-zone. Working his thumb between the folds of his flip phone, he soon found that it was not a call but a text message.

As comfortable as a mink could be, wrapped between the sheets of an attractive girl he had just slept with, he found himself quite the opposite. He would have sat up straight in shock and horror when his eyes scanned the small screen had Abby not fallen asleep across him.

Coming to Arcadia

Expect to be seeing you

Don't disappoint

The number was untraceable, Mick knew this. He just couldn't believe she had found him! Mick didn't think he'd ever hear from her again, and he thought he made it quite clear that he hoped this was the case. Severing ties with this chick wasn't really a debate, considering she about got him shot by federal agents the last time they were together.

Mick hoped she wasn't coming back to finish the job.
