#21 of Gifts

Here's chapter three of the story for LeiLani And this is where things get steamy and wet so I hope you enjoy.

The carriage traveled across the island at a high rate of speed and many of the girls were excited at the idea of becoming queen but some were worried that they would never see their families again. LeiLani, however, was still hopeful that she would see Nathan. After all, he was the royal ice maker to the king. She looked out the window to gaze at the setting sun on the ocean's horizon. She closed her eyes wishing that she were back in her village.

At last, the carriage stopped in front of the gates to the palace courtyard. All the young girls got out of the carriage and were led inside by some palace guards. They led them to the king's harem where they were all given food and rest for the night. But LeiLani wasn't so tired that night. When she thought everyone was asleep, she got up and silently crept out of the sleeping quarters to the royal garden. The sight of the garden was enough to make the otter gasp. All around there were neatly trimmed bushes, flowers in full bloom and even a big, clear pool. She saw a bench underneath a willow tree and sat down. Then her ears perked up when she heard a noise from up in the branches. "LeiLani," whispered a voice, "LeiLani. Are you there?" the otter stood up and looked up in the tree and saw a blue dragon perched on one of the branches of the tree. "Cousin Nathan?" gasped LeiLani, "Nathan, what's go-" "Shhhh!" hissed Nathan but all he got from LeiLani was a raised eyebrow. The dragon sighed as he climbed down from the tree and sat down on the bench with the otter sitting across from him. "Okay, okay. Sorry about all the shushing," said Nathan, "But look, Jamie hates us. Hates our whole family and our whole village. If he knew that I was your cousin, he'd hate you too. And then, you could be in grave danger. LeiLani, you mustn't let anyone here know that you're part of our family." The otter stood up and looked down at the dragon in protest. "But I don't even want to be here," she said, "Sure I've always wanted to come here when I was younger but not like this. Why do I have to be here?" Nathan sighed as he slowly stood up. "Oh, LeiLani, I don't know the future," said the ice dragon, "But the sea goddess does. Maybe there's a reason." He looked at the young otter as she wore a sad expression on her face. "I'll come visit you again," he said before turning and opened his wings to take flight into the night air.

LeiLani watched as her cousin and guardian left her alone in the garden and then she saw a window over looking the ocean just below the cliffs surrounding the palace. "Oh, goddess of the oceans, why did you send me here away from your familiar shores?" she prayed softly, "What do I do?" So, if she kept her relationship with her cousin Nathan a secret, she knew that her family and her home would be safe. Finally, she was tired as she went back to bed.

The next morning, all the young women were brought into the palace gardens for their first lesson of how to act within the royal court and there was a mouse maid there to have special beauty treatments prepared for them along with specially prepared meals. This took about six months before they were all ready for selection. The king's general, a panther by the name of Aiden, led the women to the royal treasure where they would choose whatever they wanted for their one night with the king. All the girls rushed forward toward the gold and jewels, except LeiLani who just stood there. "You stand not impressed?" the panther inquired as he came up to the otter. "It matters not what impresses me," said LeiLani, "How is one to choose when they know not what impresses the king? Will you teach me?" The panther smiled warmly. "I will do far more than that," he said as he led the otter to a small box on a corner. He opened it to reveal a snowflake necklace. "This was given to me by an ice dragon saying that this necklace would be for she who chooses wisely," he said, "I think he intended it to be yours. And, I believe the king will find it most pleasing." The panther bowed and left. LeiLani smiled as she held the necklace to her breast knowing that her cousin had just given her their people's most precious ornament. She put it around her neck feeling that she would be in good hands.

One evening, the king couldn't sleep. He sent Aiden to find someone to read the daily entries from the royal records to lull the king to sleep. The panther went on to explain that it was an honor to be invited by the king but it was punishable by death to those who would dare approach the king uninvited. LeiLani understood as she entered the room. The king's chamber was not what she expected. Curtains hung all around and they were all almost transparent as she saw the royal records on the stool. She started reading them when an idea came to her mind. "Entry 52," she continued, " 'It was set on this day that Hatari the zebra was wanting to expand his areas at sea'. 'But now that more and more things filled the world, the gods began to long for more space. "Papa," they said to their mother, "let go of Rangi. You need not hold him so closely. If you'll let go, our world will grow. "Papa shook her head. "I love Rangi. I will not let go," she said to her sons. "Do not ask such a thing of your mother." And so the gods turned to their father, but Rangi agreed with Papa. As time passed, it seemed as if Rangi was pulling closer to his wife, and their sons began to fear that they might suffocate in this tiny world. And so the sons of the sky and earth sat down together to talk. "How can we convince them to let go -- just a little?" Haumia asked.' " "And how can you convince me to sleep to a tale like that?" asked a gentle voice. LeiLani froze as she realized it was the king himself speaking. "I must admit that never before has such a tale been found in the pages of a royal diary," said the wolf king, "Here I expected to be lulled to sleep by tedious reports but instead I'm beguiled by a love story."

LeiLani gulped nervously thinking that she would be punished. "So how ends your tale?" asked the king, "These sons? Are they able to have plenty of space?" LeiLani stammered a little but finally answered. "Ye-Yes, my lord king," she said, "But Papa and Rangi would forever miss each other's embrace." "And do you also believe in love?" asked the wolf king as he stepped out in front of LeiLani wearing a pure white sarong around his waist leaving six pack abs visible on his bare chest. He had dark hair that reached his shoulders, gray body fur all over, and what LeiLani noticed first on him were his eyes. Bright yellow eyes they were showing he was a strong and powerful ruler but underneath was a kind and gentle soul longing to reach out for another.

The otter nodded her head in reply but she dropped the diary on the floor and knelt down to get it when she saw the king's hand touch hers. That's when they looked up and felt a spark light up between them. If the otter had skin, her blushing would give her away. The wolf was also as stunned as she was. "Uh... what's your name?" asked King David as he came out of his trance. "It's LeiLani, sire," she said softly. Then they both heard foot paws enter and Aiden had come to lead LeiLani back to her quarters. "You'll read to me again," said David getting up and helping the otter onto her feet. LeiLani left with the panther and thought she felt her heart race. "You must tell no one of this night," whispered Aiden to the otter as she arrived back at the harem and lay in bed with a smile on her face.

The next morning, the king would spend one night with each girl and find out who would be his next queen. One by one, they all left unselected. While this was taking place, LeiLani sat in garden feeling so depressed with her heart heavy. She kept wondering if she would ever be next or if she would go home like the others. After that one night of reading for the king, David was all she could think about.

Finally, the day came when LeiLani would be sent to have one night with the king. She wore a red saris along with her snowflake necklace. Aiden led her down the hall and she was clinging to the panther's arm tightly. He looked down at LeiLani and smiled. "He will be the fortunate one to choose you," said Aiden softly, "He will be the one to whom congratulations are due." LeiLani let go of Aiden's arm and the panther left her alone. She took a deep breath and entered the bedchamber of the king. It was more quite than before. "The diary's on the stool," said David's voice, though it sounded tired, "You may begin when you are ready." LeiLani looked around though she saw no sign of the wolf king anywhere. She looked at the very same scroll that she read before but she didn't go near it this time. "Is there a problem?" asked the king as his foot paws could be heard padding slowly towards her, "Did they not tell you I weary at this procession of candidates?" Suddenly, the gray wolf himself appeared as he looked up and stopped. "Wait... you were the one who read to me before," he said in realization, "You tried to beguile me with love stories." Then he saw the snowflake necklace. "Is this your only adornment before your one night with the king?" he asked. LeiLani nodded. "I was taught that when you visit a king rather than expect a gift, one should bring one to lay at his feet." She removed her necklace and presented it to the wolf. "This is my most valuable possession in the world," she said, "It is my past, my present, and my future. And all of it is yours." The wolf came over and accepted the necklace. "They say that of all commodities, love is the easiest, and most cheaply purchased," said David as he set the necklace gently upon a table. "If it is for sale, my lord, it is not love," said LeiLani. "But even you must have a price?" asked David as he came back over to LeiLani. "I'm neither a buyer... nor a seller of love," she said softly. David could feel his heart race for he knew he had found the one, but he wanted to be sure first. "Suppose, my lady, a man offered you a more treasured gift say, a kingdom," said David softly and LeiLani felt tears in her eyes as she sniffed a little. "The only gift I would accept... is your heart," she said with a tear rolling down the side of her face. Now it was David's turn to have tears as he caressed her cheek. "Then it is yours," he said in a half whimper with his tail swaying slowly, "Tell me, LeiLani, who are your people? Teach me of your ways." LeiLani smiled and she replied, "My father taught me that it takes the grace of the sea goddess to conceal a matter and the honor of kings to search it out." David smiled as he heard this and he got down on one knee as he looked up at the otter. "Then marry me," he said softly, "And we shall spend an eternity discovering this... truth together."

LeiLani nodded and she watched as the wolf stood up and brought her to his chest in a warm embrace. She looked up just in time to see King David lean his head down to kiss her and the moment their lips met, it was true love at their first kiss. "From the night we first met you were the only one I thought about," said David as he nuzzled the otter in his arms, "And I made so many excuses to avoid the candidates." They continued kissing till the king stopped her and he took her through an archway and into an open area filled with trees and a bigger pool that made the pool in the harem garden look like a puddle. "Would you do me the honor of having a moonlight swim with you?" asked the wolf as LeiLani gasped and smiled at the sight of the clear water. "It would be an honor," she said as she slowly removed her dress to reveal her beautifully formed body and dove in first into the water. She swam around happy to feel the flowing water go through her fur again. Soon, she saw the gray wolf dive in naked as well. They both met in the water and embraced each other to kiss deeply. The wolf then held one of LeiLani's breasts in his hands and began to suck on the nipple making the otter chirp in pleasure. After a moment or two, they both started to kiss again as LeiLani breathed some air into her king's lungs before she drifted down to suck on his long, hard member. The wolf moaned as some bubbles came out of his nose as he tried not to open his mouth, but he found it very difficult not to open it. Once he felt his member was all the way hard, he had LeiLani spread her legs apart so he could lick and rim at her virgin clit. She moaned and bubbled a bit as pleasure coursed through her. And seeing that they were both ready, the swam to the surface and lay upon the dry land as the wolf lay on his back and LeiLani crawled up to him and placed her vaginal folds around his member. The otter whimpered as she slowly went up and down on her king's shaft but David sat up to kiss her lovingly and he humped her gently for a while until they both felt their orgasms approaching. They let out loud moans as their orgasms were released at last.

They both panted in their afterglow as they snuggled each other lovingly. "So, I guess this means you're officially my husband?" panted LeiLani and David gave a soft chuckle as he kissed her nose. "It means that I've finally found my new queen," he said with a smile.
