Gooey Spite
By: Lapsa
For: devilwolf1984
"Thank you again for coming...you didn't need to, I can handle it myself..." The Lucario paused as he steadied himself, taking a deep breath as he pushed his awareness long down the darkened passage before him - goo and slime coating the path for all of its long winding length. "We should be getting close now. If you want to leave, I'll understand."
"No, I've come this far with you, Steel - I'm not going to let some slimy dragons scare me." The sylveon chirped up, his voice full of energy. "Not to mention...if they really are eating anyone who comes down here, it'd be my duty to stop them too!"
Lucario turned to gaze at the sylveon with a half-hearted smirk before walking on, memories crossing his mind in the darkness from all those years back. He had removed the moment in vivid detail as his partner had been taken from him, gulfed in slime. A smaller and more naïve riolu back then was helpless, afraid, running away as echoing screams followed him out of the very cave he now fearlessly walked with purpose inside of.
"Very well, let's get this over with then. Who knows how many more people have been captured by them."
The two would trudge ahead through the dark, the coat of slime getting thicker and thicker with each step until even Steel would have trouble moving through it. They'd soon find themselves coming into a large chamber, a dim light from above barely illuminating the room enough to reveal the details. The chamber would be large and smooth, gooey puddles dotting around on the floor with the subtle sound of dripping coming from above. The Lucario would pause nearly in the center as he looked into one of the pools - his warped reflection staring back as he fought with the rage growing within his mind.
"Are you sure this is the place?" Sylveon wandered around the perimeter of the chamber as his eyes adjusted to the dark, ribbons reluctantly combing over the gooey walls for any signs of anyone else in the room.
"This is it...I every detail is exactly the same." Steel's eyes closed again as he briefly drew himself inward towards his own thoughts, focusing on that steady methodical dripping - the repetitive noise drawing him deeper and deeper until it suddenly stopped. "We're not alone! Watch out!"
"Wh--" Before the sylveon could even react he would be buried under the weight of a sligoo that fell from above - smaller goomey raining down after, the sound of slime dripping from the ceiling replaced by the splats as they hit the ground. Collectively they'd quickly coat the sylveon completely, leaving the ribbon fox to struggle under their weight as he thrashed and struggled beneath.
"No!" Lucario's mind completely gave way to revenge as a ball of energy left his hand - some of the goomey completely erased in its wake as the hate-fueled bomb of spiritual power collided with them. "Sylveon!"
The sickening familiar sight would finally manage to break the calm composure the Lucario had kept until that point as a ball of energy left his hand - aiming towards the growing sluggish mass on the eeveelution.
"Sylveon!" Some of the goomey would be completely erased in its wake, quickly replaced as another spirit ball barely made a dent in the nearly endless horde that continued to swallow up what little of the sylveon that remained visible.
"H-hel-- L-let me go!" Sylveon's plea would barely escape the thick goo that now coated his face, only briefly managing to escape from beneath the mound before it oozed atop him again, this time stifling his struggling with the growing weight.
"I'm coming! Just ho--" Lucario charged forward, teeth bared in hatred. He'd barely avoid running into one of the large oozing masses that dropped before him, blocking his path as it spread itself as wide as possible - more smaller balls of slime dropping from above as Steel would deftly manage to fall into the same trap as his friend.
"Out of my way!" More bolts of spiritual energy would rip through the soft gooey forms before they even had a chance to form into a coherent shape - splattered remains hitting the floor as the growl from Steel's voice echoed up to the small hole above.
He'd slowly find himself locked in a battle with the nearly endless horde as they slowly surrounded the jackal, doing all they could to block his way, turning him around and suffocating any attempt to get to the sylveon. All the while they'd be mocking him with those smiles as they inched closer and closer with each dodge as the chamber flashed with Steel's power.
"J-just run! F-forge--" The sylveon just barely managed to free himself for a second and final time as tendrils now forced themselves into his mouth, the goomey seemingly done with the bulk of the game they had played as the ribbony fairy struggled in their grasp. Lucario was helpless once more to watch on as those tendrils wriggled down into his friend's throat - expanding and contracting as the sylveon's eyes went wide with the sensation of the foul tasting green goop they began to pump into his stomach.
"S-sylveon!? W-what are you doing to him!?"
Again Steel's roaring anger would echo through the chamber as he summoned up the strength he had left to charge straight through the slugs and oozes in his path - eyes fixed on the sylveon as he watched its stomach distend, tense muscles across his body tensing and seizing one final time before going lax as his eyes glazed over with a dull emptiness. The sylveon's flesh would already start to take on the same purplish hue as the slug holding him, soft fur and ribbons almost drooping.
"Get off of him!"
Another flash - this time stopped as an even larger spiral drooped down from the ceiling to block it, the mass able to swallow up the energy with little damage as it smacked to the floor. Goo would splatter across the Lucario as his hateful gaze fixed on the figure, trying to fight against the growling howling anger under his breath as he watched the amorphous puddle slowly form into a towering goodra, its portly body shaking off excess goo as its eyes opened to reveal an unexpected sight.
"Lu-lu~! I knew you'd finally come!" Steel backed up as a chill ran up his spine, eyes widening gas he looked into the familiar blue orbs and the warm smile that looked down upon him now. He could see the entire slug-dragon's body jiggling with joy at his sight, a genuine and uncanny reaction from such a monster.
"W-what?" Lucario found himself nearly falling as he reached out with his mind to find a familiar aura coming from the beast, just barely able to keep on his feet as memories flooded into his mind. "I-it...it can't be."
"It's me, Sam...Don't you remember?"
The goodra wobbled forward as it spoke, Steel instinctively backing away as his mind still grappled with the disbelief of what stood before him. He'd briefly turn his gaze over to the Sylveon again - precious time robbed from him as the now already barely recognizable form continued to melt into a chubby portly sluggish mass. Once pink and white fur now purplish and the fluffy fairy tail now little more than a fat blob that oozed onto the floor as antenna lazily moved about where long ears once stood - drooling even more lime over the already gooey soft body.
"We spent so much time together, how could you forget?"
"I-it...it can't be...b-but you-you were...I watched..." Lucario felt his body tremble as his fists loosened up - some part of him wanting to believe his lost friend was still alive, tears now starting to stream down his face as he tried to fight them off.
"I was here all along, waiting." The goodra raised up one his hands as he reached for the jackal, inching closer and closer by the second. "I missed you so much."
"N-no!" The movement was just enough to briefly snap the Lucario from his daze, what little energy he had left manifesting as a small blade of energy that sliced the hand off completely - goo dripping from the wound.
"Aww...com'on Lu-lu, don't be like that!" The goodra let out a soft groan as the hand slowly regenerated, its expression unchanged as the same taunting smile remained wide across its face. "I've waited so long to see you again...we've all waited."
Steel would feel the cold gooey wall press against his back, a few clammy shivers darting across his spine as he was cornered now amid the creatures, his gaze moving up to the drizzle of goo that fell now in earnest from above. More goodra, more goomey, more sligoo falling down into the pit and reforming into their shapes, helping the fallen as they all inched forward with those same unchanging unflinching expectant smiles - beady eyes reflecting the glittering distant light from above.
"We've been waiting for you to join us." The goodra before him spoke again, inching forward once more with both arms outstretched.
"S-stay back! T-this can't be you, you can't be Sam!"
"I know you can't recognize me in this new body, but its me Lu-lu...and I'm so much better than I ever was~" The goodra began to wobble closer again, its eyes never leaving Steel's own - those blue orbs drawing in all the jackal's attention and awareness as his heart began to beat faster and faster. "They erased that silly old body...all those nasty painful thoughts...all those bad memories. I'm so much better...and they can make you so much better too."
"N-no...n-no..."
"Lu-lu, don't fight it~ Youi know deep down you want this, want to join us. You want to be happy, to feel safe and loved and warm within our embrace." The goodra reached out again, this time meeting little more than a twitch as its gooey claw trailed along the Lucario's face - leaving ga trail of clingy slime in its wake that drooped down the jackal's cheek and seemed to soak into his skin as the dragon's voice became even more comforting. "You can be so much happier; you can be with me again~"
"S-Sam..."
"You can be so much happier, with us~" Its hand moved down to Steel's cheek now, holding the jackal's gaze to its own.
What little resistance and strength he had left would drain from him as the warm gooey body pressed against his own - everything but its face just fading away into a warm creamy thick nothing. He wouldn't even feel the goo seeping into his flesh, wouldn't feel his body twitching agnd fighting as it was slowly dissolved away the gooey cocoon he was slowly encased within - goo soaking into his thin soft coat and climbing up along his limbs to slowly change every inch of him just as it had changed the sylveon he failed to protect.
"So much better~" He'd only be able to focus on that soothing voice now as it filled his ears and mind, drawing him deeper and deeper as his eyes glazed over - now seeing the face of his own friend instead of the face of that gooey beast. Soon the voice would itself fade into an even more soothing choir - a chorus singing about how better life would be as they drowned out what little thoughts were left in Steel's mind. The taunting happy faces closing in around him would seem less sinister, warmth pushing deeper and deeper into him as searing pleasure rippled across his spine.
"S-so much better...S-Sam...I..." A weight on his head would soon force his eyes shut as the last site he saw was a pair of green eyes staring at him where blue orbs once were, warm goo coated the last bit of his exposed body - slime flooding into his ears and mouth. Insides would dissolve away as his mind was left swimming in a sea of goop that started to eat away immediately at his thoughts. Even still the voices would continue, guiding Steel along down that thick sticky river as the changes started to take root - former self fading away as the seconds turned into an eternity.
"So safe...so warm...so happy~" The voices would grow louder as his own thoughts were taken away. His body would already be gone by the time his mind had finally left; A portly gooey belly would've already replaced his bipedal toned frame, a single goopy thick tail emerging from the short thing wagging mass behind him. Every trace of who he was would be lost - horns, markings, every iconic feature gone and replaced with the same draconian face still staring down at him - antenna drooping across his head as a mouth formed out of the gooey mess into a wide smile.
Every bit of Steel would be lost forever in that instant. When his eyes finally opened again he'd be a Lucario no more - he would be no more. Dull green eyes would look back into the sea of smiling faces - joining them in their silent slick revelry at two new members of their growing hord - two more victims of the pit to add to their ranks as they waited for more to join them.
