I know people are itching for Luca's Story Ch. 10, but I am trying to keep some sort of temporal parallel between the two stories of Ronnie and Luca. So here I post the next chapter in Ronnie's story, as that little moment of him and Luca facing each other is going to have a significant impact on Ronnie's story. Hope everyone enjoys... And keep commenting!!!!

Chapter IV--Under the Influence

_I blew out my flip-flop

Stepped on a pop-top

Cut my heel had to cruise on back home

But there's booze in the blender

And soon it will render

That frozen concoction that helps me hang on_

_Wastin away again in margaritaville

Searching for my lost shaker of salt

Some people claim that there's a woman to blame

But I know it's my own damn fault

Yes and some people claim that there's a woman to blame

And I know it's my own damn fault_

-Jimmy Buffet, "Margaritaville"

Waking up, Ronnie found the sun shining in on his face from the open window in Ray's apartment. The smell of car exhaust and the chill of late October were creeping in on him. Ronnie drew the thin covers close, covering his head. "Do you have to let the cold air in?" He murmured with mild irritation. It had been around a month and a half that he'd been with the horse, and their relationship had blossomed and then leveled out to a blissful pattern.

"Shouldn't you be getting ready for work?" Ray retorted kindly. It was already 10:30 am, and Ronnie was still snoozing away, making rough love to his snooze button. They both had to be in at Mario's by noon. Ray had gotten Ronnie a job there a couple weeks after they first met, thanks to one of the less-than desirable staff members storming out after the owner yelled at him for something very much the waiter's fault.

"Fuck it, I'm tired," came Ronnie's muffled voice. Ray sighed. He knew Ronnie was still depressed about his crush. The poor guy went through such bouts of anger and depression when it came to the boy he only knew vaguely as "Luke," a transgendered lapine who was now apparently somewhere in New York City. Ray didn't mind, though. He like taking care of Ronnie, and he knew there was genuine affection there. Eventually, Ronnie would have to get over it. And he thought of the perfect way to do it. "Come on. It's just one more day this week, and then we have tomorrow off together."

"I don't feel like it," Ronnie sighed. His head was splitting. He'd gotten completely shit-faced the night before while Ray was playing at a gig and then passed out before he came home. He managed to hide it by pilfering his booze from liquor stores that were a good distance away. Even if they got an idea of who was doing it, he always moved on to a new location before they became too suspicious of him. Ronnie knew that probably made him an alcoholic, but he didn't care. The liquor made him feel good for at least a little bit.

"Come on," Ray said patiently, pulling the covers away in one fell swoop. "If you get your sexy butt out of bed, I'll take us to that burger place you've been talking about in New Haven tomorrow."

"You mean it?" Ronnie said, turning to Ray. The sunlight in his eyes ignited a new flare of pain in his head, and his stomach churned. Just gotta hold it together until Mario's, he told himself. He could disappear into the bathroom to empty his churning guts without Ray getting concerned about him feeling sick. "What about the whole going across state borders thing?"

"Well, your birth certificate, social security, and ID are all in order, according to Hutch. I think we're safe at this point. He even added a truancy notification and juvenile delinquency charge to your rap sheet to make it seem more real."

"Just what I need," Ronnie said sarcastically. "Couldn't you have made me out to be a model student?"

Ray shrugged. "Hey, a few minor delinquencies will help to cover your ass."

"How so?"

"The cops will look for petty crimes and possession charges, not identity fraud," Ray chuckled. "They see a pattern, they look for the next digits in the sequence," he continued, crawling into bed on all fours and kissing Ronnie lovingly.

Ronnie nodded in understanding, murring as he kissed Ray. Finally, he stood up from bed, dressed only in a form-fitting pair of boxer-briefs, and stretched. Ray watched him with a smirk. "You're one sexy little lapine, you know that?" He said as he stood and continued getting himself ready for the day. Ronnie shook his ass for Ray, his fluffy bunny tail turned high into the air.

"You want a go at this sexy little bunny before work?" He teased, running his hands along his body, sliding his boxer-briefs slowly down until they showed half of his tight rump. Ray smirked and shook his head.

"We have to be getting ready, love," he said, striding up to Ronnie and giving him another kiss. After that, he shoved Ronnie's clothes into his arms. "The subway isn't going to wait for us to get down there."

Ronnie sighed and slipped into his clothing. The white-furred, purple-haired lapine rubbed at the slight tummy that was forming on his frame. "I need to stop eating all that Italian food," he complained, striding over to Ray. "How the hell do you keep looking so cut and sexy?"

Ray smirked. "I have a bunny that gives me nightly workouts."

Ronnie sighed. "Maybe I should try being the pitcher for once. Try to get rid of this belly. I look so fat."

Ray rolled his eyes, giving Ronnie's chest a slow rub, and let his hand drift over his belly and under his pants. "You do not. You're the cutest little bunny boyfriend I've ever had."

"Oh bullshit. I'm the only bunny you've ever had," Ronnie said, sticking his tongue out.

"So? You're still cute as hell, and definitely not fat."

"Whatever," Ronnie said, stepping into the bathroom to brush his teeth and try to forget that the room was still spinning like a tilt-a-whirl. He wanted so bad to just puke his guts out, but he wasn't so fond of Ray finding out about his heavy drinking.

Stepping out into the sunlight of the Bronx street was no better. Ronnie made it seem like he was being all adorable as he wrapped himself into Ray's left arm and buried his face into his jacket as if he just wanted to sleep while they strode their way to the subway. Going down the stairs, Ronnie thought he was finally going to get some relief. And then the noxious smell of the New York City subway system hit him in the face. That was the end of any hope Ronnie had of keeping everything down in his stomach.

"Yeah, all over the place."

"Mhm."

"I don't think so. I think I really should take care of him."

"Well I called Harris, he said he was on his way there now, so that at least covers one of us."

"Good to hear. Again, really sorry about this, man."

"Yeah. I'll tell him."

"Later boss."

Ronnie simply lay there on the side of the bed, head hanging mostly off the edge, feeling an awful lot like the way he did that first morning he found himself waking up in Ray's apartment. "I'm sorry, baby," he said. Ray actually believed him to be sick, and even got him some hot chicken soup before he called Harris and then Mario's. The soup still sat untouched on the bedside stand. Consuming anything made Ronnie just want to kill himself.

"Hey, it's alright," Ray said gently, reaching out and rubbing Ronnie's side. "If you weren't feeling so hot, why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't think I was that bad. Then that smell from the subway hit my nostrils..."

Ray nodded. "Sometimes you just need something to be that final straw."

Ronnie nodded, feeling bad that it was his drinking that was keeping Ray--and himself--from work that day. But still, there was some sick little pleasure he was getting from being taken care of by Ray for the day instead of serving up overpriced lasagna to idiots who wouldn't know real Italian if it bitch-slapped them in the face. Ronnie started drifting off, the heaving finally letting up long enough for him to think he'd survive this one. Ray sidled up behind him and wrapped his bun close, kissing the back of his head. Ronnie found himself wishing he could love Ray as much as the horse loved him before he finally drifted off.

It was dawn before Ronnie really came out of it. His hangover left him thirsty and hungry by then, having finally passed over and through him in a maelstrom of vomiting and splitting headaches. Ray was cooking something in the kitchen again. Sniffing the air, Ronnie's stomach grumbled loudly. It was biscuits 'n gravy, Ray's specialty. At some point he must have gone out and gotten the ingredients, Ronnie realized. Not that he would have ever noticed in the state he was in.

Stepping into the kitchen with footsteps like a twitchy zombie, Ronnie yawned wide and hugged Ray close from behind. "Morning, stud."

"Morning," Ray said cheerily enough, turning and cupping Ronnie's face in his hand, stroking the bun's cheek. "Feeling better?" Ronnie nodded slowly, murring into the feel of Ray's hand. "Good, cause I whipped up some biscuits for you."

"Mushroom gravy?"

Ray nodded. "Homemade, too."

Ronnie smiled warmly, and then poured himself a cup of coffee, loading up on the powdered creamer and sugar. Ray gave him a look. "I know, I know. If you wanted cream 'n sugar, why are you drinking coffee?" Ronnie said at the look, sticking his tongue out. Ray only chuckled and shrugged. The big horse really never understood ruining a perfectly good cup of black coffee.

Ray finally finished up with the biscuits 'n gravy, and turned to lay out three saucer-sized biscuits on Ronnie's plate. The apron he was wearing was Ronnie's favorite. It was rainbow colored and had in white letters "Kiss the cook, he's gay!" Ronnie stood up and did just that before Ray went off to get the pot of gravy. Coming back, Ray said playfully, "Well had I known this apron would work, I would have put an arrow pointing down."

Ronnie grinned devilishly, then lifted the apron, pulled down the hem of Ray's pajama pants, and kissed the deliciously large trouser snake that Ray possessed. He giggled and put it back into place, giving Ray's crotch an affectionate rub.

"Hey now, you keep teasin' we'll never make it to New Haven today." Ray sat down to his own hefty helping of food.

"Mmmm I wouldn't mind," Ronnie said, seductively licking the gravy from his fork for Ray. Ray only laughed.

"You're bad, baby."

"And spoiled, too," Ronnie replied, taking a heaping pile of biscuit sopping with gravy. "Between the food and the sex, how could I think of leaving your arms?" He giggled.

Ray smiled warmly and stretched his arm out across the table, which Ronnie took immediately. It was things like that that gave the horse hope Ronnie wasn't going to just run away like he'd done before. He hated to admit it, but he was hooked on his bun, and the way he squeezed Ronnie's hand showed it.

Ronnie simply kept devouring the biscuits, his greedy stomach demanding so much after a day of clearing everything out. "So we're still on for Louis' then?"

Ray shrugged and nodded. "You seem to be much better now, so I figured we could still be on for that. What do you think it was that made you so sick, anyway?"

Ronnie shrugged. "Maybe a stomach thing. I finished off that fried rice sitting in the fridge while you were at work Friday night. It might have turned." Ronnie knew that wasn't it, but at least he wasn't lying about finishing the Chinese food.

Ray nodded slowly, finishing off his last biscuit. Somehow, something kept eating at him about this whole thing. He sighed slightly and picked up the plates. Ronnie stopped him, taking the plates away from his equine lover and going to wash up. "You always take care of everything," Ronnie said.

"I guess I just like taking care of my sexy little bun."

"Well let me take care of my sexy stud for once," Ronnie giggled. As he started washing the dishes, he lifted his fluffy bunny tail and arched his back, putting his ass out on display for Ray. It wasn't long before he felt him stand right up beside him, grinding firmly into Ronnie's rump. Ronnie bit his lip, pulling his rump back in slowly to pull Ray up against his back. "Just can't resist my sexy ass, can you?"

"Never in a million years." Ray said, rubbing down Ronnie's belly, his hands slipping into the mostly naked bun's boxer-briefs to find a hardening member. "Neither can you, apparently."

"Never in a million years." Ronnie whispered, laying his head back so the pair could engage in a deep, passionate kiss. It didn't take long for Ray to pick Ronnie up in his arms and carry him back into the bedroom.

It wasn't long before Ronnie found himself laying on top of Ray, making out with him passionately while Ray's fingers reached around to his rump, applying some lubricant to his tight little bunny hole. He had gotten much better at taking that prodigious girth, but Ronnie still couldn't do so without at least a little bit of lubrication to help him out. He murred and smirked at Ray as he felt the large, flat head of Ray's cock press against his ass. "You want in, stud?" he whispered. Ray could only nod, his breathing heavy after the long oral session Ronnie had given him to get his motor running.

Pushing back, Ronnie bit his lip in concentration as he forced the head of the thick member past his sphincter, gasping slightly as it popped its way in. He moaned softly and rubbed Ray's chest. Pushing back further, he gradually buried the entire length inside, feeling Ray's thighs against his ass cheeks. "Mmmmm so full..." he moaned, leaning back as Ray rubbed at his own six inch member. Simply sitting there, Ronnie thought about how he could just sit like this all day, enjoying his lover being so buried inside of him.

Ray, however, had different ideas. He was ready to go, and pushed Ronnie onto his back, sitting up and getting onto his knees as he did so, and pushed Ronnie's legs high. In doing so, he managed to push a little more of his length inside, moaning loudly. Ronnie's own cock squirted slightly in reply to this. "Just can't wait to fill me, hm?" Ronnie moaned, wrapping his legs around Ray and pulling at his hips to keep him buried.

"You know it, baby," Ray said. After several minutes of bringing their foreplay and lovemaking to a head, Ray did just that.

Before the couple could pull away from each other, leaving Ronnie empty and pouting for more of Ray's member buried inside of him, Ronnie reached to the bedside stand and opened a drawer. Inside was an assortment of their love-making accoutrements. Laying atop everything, however, was a thick tube-shaped plug. He smirked devilishly at Ray.

"You know we're going to New Haven as soon as we're done," Ray cautioned as he watched Ronnie lubing up the plug with copious amounts of KY.

Ronnie nodded. "I know," he said with a smirk. "I want to be there still carrying your seed inside of me," he murred. "I've been wearing it around the house a lot lately. I think I can endure a trip there and back," he giggled.

"I'm thinking I'm having a bad influence on you. You're getting to be quite the little kink," Ray said, kissing Ronnie affectionately as he went to clean up. Ronnie immediately made sure he pulled his ass into the air and carefully pushed the plug home before doing the same.

"Hey, nothing wrong with a little bit of kinkiness," Ronnie said as he cleaned off and then got dressed.

Ray had to admit he was impressed as he watched Ronnie walk with him towards the Toyota he was borrowing from a friend for the day. Ronnie didn't show any sign he was carrying that large plug deep inside his bunny butt. Ray was wearing a long-sleeve maroon shirt with jeans and high-top boots, a leather jacket drawn close to him against the late October chill. Ronnie was wearing exquisitely tight designer jeans (which had been stolen, unbeknownst to Ray), a pair of sneakers, and a big thick hoodie that was solid black with a pink skull on the front.

The ride over to New Haven was pretty quiet. Ray had to admit he was loving the experience of driving someplace other than New York City for once. It was like a whole different world, Connecticut was. Getting cut off was no longer a second-by-second experience, and the shriek of car horns wasn't everywhere. In fact, the only times he did have an issue with a fellow driver, it was always a New Yorker.

The pair listened to music, shot the shit, and generally enjoyed each other's company as they made their way to Louis'. A taxi was pulling out just as Ray was pulling into the lot, and Ronnie seemed to practically bounce in his seat with excitement. Or was that because he was enjoying the plug a little too much? Ray found himself thinking with a smirk.

Stepping out, the pair approached the door. The smell of the place was marvelous, and both of them were practically ravenous by the time they stepped inside.

Which is why Ray was so confused when Ronnie had come to a dead stop just inside the doorway. His bun had that familiar, dark look in his eye whenever conversation about Luke (Luca, Ray had to keep telling himself. Ronnie may not accept it, but Ray had had enough transgender friends to know what they went through to be what they are) came up. Following Ronnie's gaze, he found himself looking right at Luca Reingold. In her hand was a picture of Ronnie. Ray couldn't help to notice just how much happier the bun looked. Sure, Ronnie smiled in his presence, but in the picture was a smile that was brilliant as it was genuine.

"Ray, run!" Ronnie shouted. Ray didn't think, didn't try to bring resolve to this situation. He was too distracted by the severe contrast between his Ronnie and the Ronnie of the picture. What happened? He found himself wondering as he dashed into the driver's seat of the Toyota and starting the engine.

The pair was half an hour back to the city before Ronnie so much as said a word.

"Bastard."

"Luca's just trying to make sure you're ok." Ronnie shot Ray a venomous look. He'd said the wrong L-word when it came to referring to Luca. Ronnie said nothing more the entire way home. Ray just let him be.
