Silver Lake Ch.2
So this is Chapter 2 in the Silver Lake series edited by Reks-Hatake Thank you sooooooooo much! >.< Also I'm sorry that this is so short, but I thought that it was the perfect place to end it and I didn't want to write anymore. Oh and btw I wrote this in 2 hours. Oh and here is chapter 1 http://www.sofurry.com/page/192732/user
Vincent jumped out of his chair having woken himself up with his scream. As his heart stopped trying to beat its way out of his chest he noticed that he had woken up the human that he had saved. As his eyes slowly opened Vincent moved closer to him wanting to make sure that he was okay. "Hey, how are you feeling?" Vincent asked while constantly telling himself that this wasn't his mate and he shouldn't kiss, hug, or try to comfort him in any of the ways he would a mate. Once the human he saved got his eyes fully open and the room came into focus he saw Vincent and the most horrified look came over his face. "Oh dear god.... p-please don't kill me." He said covering his face with both hands and wetting the bed. Upon hearing this Vincent knew that this human knew his secret and that he would never trust him, so he made his decision on how he was going to handle this. He leaned forward and grabbed the human's arms with both of his hands and pulled them apart forcing him to look Vincent in the face. "I'm sorry you had to see me that way last night, but I couldn't stand seeing you like that." He said with a sad and tired look as he remembered all too clear the sight of the smaller human being beaten. "I couldn't control my self, but I want to let you know that I don't mean you any harm and that I would really like for this information to stay between us. I don't want to end up in a cage either in some zoo or a government testing place." He added, trying his best to look pathetic and worried.
The Human, who's name was actually Drake Vegas, didn't know what exactly to think about this man who had saved his life. On the one hand if it hadn't been for this mysterious stranger he wouldn't be here now to worry about anything, but on the other he had killed two fully grown men without even breaking a sweat. That thought alone caused a shiver to pass though Drake's slim frame and his steel blue eyes to widen a bit. Sighing inwardly at the fact that he could knowingly hurt another person physically or mentally, he met the man's ice blue eyes and nodded. "I'll agree to keep what I saw to myself on the condition that you explain everything to me, you owe me that much." Drake said keeping his voice even with a slight firmness to it to show that he was serious.
Vincent almost smiled as he noticed that this human was just like his mate, even while scared almost senseless he still managed to act as though he was fearless. "All right I'll tell you everything, though you may not believe me. Also; not here, I don't want every curious nurse to know." He said relaxing a bit and moving back to the chair that he had slept in. 'Maybe this won't be as hard as I thought after all.' he thought to himself. "So what is your name? I figure if I'm going to explain my best kept secret I might as well get to know you. Mine's Vincent by the way." He said extending his hand to Drake, making sure to go slowly as not to frighten him.
Drake almost flinched away from the offered hand, but he managed to dig down into his reserve of self-control and shake Vincent's hand. "I'm Drake, I would say it's nice to meet you, but under the circumstances I don't think that applies." He said making sure to stress the fact that they weren't friends and probably wouldn't become anything more; though he did start to find himself just a little bit attracted to the perfectly chiseled body of the werewolf. 'Even though he is absolutely beautiful, saved my life, and the only decent guy I've ever met, he's still a killer.' Drake thought to himself as he also felt his heart starting to soften for Vincent. Drake had been single his whole 20 years of existence. The absence of which caused him to look for any reason to like someone especially if they were sweet or kind to him.
'Well maybe not.' Vincent thought as he caught the careful wording Drake had chosen. "So what were those guys beating you for? I mean it had to be something bad, they looked as though they were going to kill you." Vincent asked, trying to spark up a conversation and get closer to Drake. Drake didn't answer for a minute or two and Vincent was about to say something else when finally the boy answered, after lowering his head to hide his tears. "They were hired by my mother to teach me how wrong it is to be gay." Drake said as the first of his tears dripped from his nose to the bed sheets. The reality of the whole thing was just starting to hit him, when the thugs had first told him he had been in shock. Then when he witnessed Vincent's strength he forgot completely about it, and now it was all finally hitting him. He sobbed.
Seeing Drake hurt like he was both physically and emotionally made Vincent mad, the fact that it had been by the boy's mother actually made Vincent growl out loud and clench his fists in rage. "I can't believe your own mother would do that all in the name of your sexuality." He said, not loudly, but softly. The quiet volume only added to the coldness in his voice, giving his eyes the power of chilling anyone's soul just from glancing at them. The reaction to this news both frightened Drake more than he had been the night before, and surprised him. He wasn't used to others caring what happened to him, much less reacting this strongly. "Why do you care, you've never even met me before last night?" Drake asked, his voice trembling a bit from the look on Vincent's face. "I care because for one no mother should ever harm their child, and secondly I lo...like you for some reason even though we've just met. You remind me of someone I used to know a long time ago." Vincent said slowly changing from the cold dangerous werewolf he was just a few seconds ago, to the warm and caring friend he usually seemed to be. He also silently scolded himself for almost admitting that he loved Drake for he could tell that this was his long dead mate. He didn't know how he knew it or how Danny could have turned into Drake when he died but he did.
Drake caught the slight slip Vincent made but chose not to say anything, instead he changed the subject. "So I assume that since you brought me in you've also talked to the doctors and you know when I'm getting out?" He said forming his question into a statement as well, which made Vincent smile as it brought back memories of his human life. "Yes, you should be out in about four to five days, depending on how fast you heal. But I'm guessing that you heal fast so you should be out in three." Vincent said, cringing a bit at the end as he realized that he was assuming that his mate was reincarnated as Drake. Drake looked at Vincent with a very shocked look of both surprise and curiosity. "How did you know I healed fast? No one but my mother and father know that!" He said frowning a little. "I.. uh.. j-just assumed." Vincent said, his stuttering speech making his lie obvious. "No, you knew, how did you know?" Drake pushed, completely forgetting to be afraid of this mysterious man who sat only a few feet from him. Vincent was backed into a corner and reacted a little rashly. "I just guessed." He said letting anger color his words and his face, then getting up he added. "I have to go, I need to get my car fixed." and with that he walked out before Drake could question him more. "How did he know?" the boy asked the empty air around him before laying back and staring at the ceiling thinking hard about Vincent.
