Chapter 15

What is love

The next day Sarah woke up at the sanctuary and took a shower. The warm water running over her she grabbed the shampoo and lathered her hair. She thought to herself thinking of what had happened, how Grey had attacked her, and how Snow had too. She wondered if she could trust these two, because when she saw them both turn at her a thought ran through her head that she was going to die. She finished her shower and dried off then found some clean clothes and walked out onto the porch and into the morning sun. Taking a deep breath she walked down the stairs and to the door of the enclosure.

For a moment she hesitated looking through the cage but opened it anyways walking in closing it behind her. Grey was not there to meet her as he had been doing in the past so she began to walk around looking for the wolves. She stopped seeing something that regardless of what had happened the night before warmed her heart. At the base of a large rock there they were Grey and Snow sleeping curled up together with Snow being in the middle and Grey wrapped around her and their heads pressed side by side. "Morning you two, made nice with each other I see?" Simultaneously two sets of wolf eyes popped open looking to her and Grey nodded then stood stretching out and padding to Sarah. "Come with me Sarah I wish to speak to you." He stayed a few feet from her turning and padding to the secluded area where they often talked.

Grey sat down and turned his head looking to Sarah "I want to explain last night, it was a test. I was not going to hurt you at any point you have to trust me as you always have. I knew Snow would jump in and stop me and protect you. Unfortunately you were the bait that was needed for me to find out what she is really made of." He stood turning to Sarah who was crouched down nose to nose making her feel uneasy. He took in a deep breath and raised his head offering her his throat for the first time. "I know I said I would not do this unless I was out of this cage but I have made my peace with it and you." She was shocked not really knowing what to make of the situation but a rush came over her, an emotion she had never felt towards him.

She leaned to his throat smelling his soft fur there was something about Grey that she had found attractive but had always kept that hidden. Until now that is she pressed her nose into his fur nuzzling him doing as she had seen watching videos of wolves then kissed his throat. "Thank you Grey I had a feeling that was the case but every time I think I have you figured out I am wrong. Did Snow and you....well....you know Last night?" Grey lowered his head nose to nose with her his piercing yellow eyes locked to her's then he smirked. "No Dr. Estilo she is not in heat for one, and two I think of her as a pack member not a mate. Just because you stick two wolves together does not mean they will mate."

A thought flashed across his mind still looking at Sarah conveying something that words could not say. Then he turned from her and laid down in the grass that was now poking up through the melting snow. Sarah caught the thought that he sent her and she gasped standing quickly and stepped back a bit. Saying nothing else to him she turned walking off thinking she was mad in the head. She sat next to a rock and felt a presence, it was at times like this she realized that her senses had been improved because of her time with the wolves.

"Hello Snow I know your behind me how are you?" Snow came up behind Sarah nuzzling her then looked to her with head tilted to the side feeling something troubling the doctor. "What is wrong Sarah I feel your mind is confused. About the other night I was just mad and vented sorry I took it out on you." Sarah looked up at Snow with a tear rolling down her face as all sorts of strange thoughts darted across her mind. "Snow I think I love Grey, there I said it." Snow tilted her head more and for a moment had a sad look upon her muzzle but shook it off. "Sarah Grey and me are friends he is my teacher not my mate we talked about that last night after you left. I am his student to teach I think it is good for us both, but he is not attracted to me. But.......you are a human not a wolf how will you have pups?"

Sarah could not help but laugh reaching out hugging Snow she was such a sweet simple soul who knew little about the real world but was smart enough to know the truth of the situation. "I don't know what to do Snow in the human relm those who love animals are freaks I don't feel like it is wrong anymore, he is amazing isn't he?" Snow yipped at the hug and nuzzled gently "go to him Sarah he is in pain."

Chapter 16

Spring time

The next month was a magical time in these parts of the country. One where the cold white tundra melts and gives way to the green and wonderful colors of spring. Sarah continued with her research of the wolves Grey was still trying to get Snow to howl properly and she was coming along but it sometimes aggravated him. There was a tension among the three that had to be broken. During a session Sarah and Grey were off talking on a normal recording session. "Sarah what do you humans consider love? Is it a simple matter of lust and mating or is it more?" Grey spoke to her and she thought it odd he was asking such things but answered him. "I think it can be both some couples come together simply for lust to mate and others may be drawn together no matter who different they are." Grey stood turning in front of Sarah searching her eyes for a split second then whimpered and nuzzled her pushing his head under her chin. At first she was taken back by this as the once alpha had never acted so gentle to her and she hugged him back running her fingers down his spine scratching him.

"What is this Grey showing your soft side to me this is most rare?" Grey growled pressing his head against her harder and flicked his tongue out brushing the soft flesh to her throat tasting her. She shivered feeling his tender attention and a moan escaped her closing her eyes. Grey stopped stepping back looking to her then closed his eyes and took a deep breath exhaling slowly. "I love you Sarah there I said it add that to your research. This is what I have come to falling in love with a human of all creatures, I tried to become attached to Snow but it was too late my heart already belonged to you."

Sarah heard his words and stood walking to him touching the back of his head removing the electrode from him. "Now we are one on one just you and me Grey. I hated to admit it to myself but when you took my throat the first time I was drawn to you for reasons I do not know. You are an amazing creature and do not deserve to be in this place. But I have had the same thoughts Grey.....I love you too." Grey stood there listening to her then felt something new as his heart warmed. He stepped to her with soft wet eyes and lowered his head giving himself to her. He murred softly pushing his head into her chest inhaling her unique human scent. For the first time Sarah noticed the male wolf's scent as well it was not bad but masculine, putting her at ease. Feeling his soft fur touch her chest made her shiver then reach out and resume her petting him.

They stayed in this embrace for awhile then Grey opened his jaws grasping part of her sweatshirt tugging at it. "I want to see the real you Sarah not this fake fur that you humans wear. She blushed and nodded standing lowering her hands grasping the sweatshirt pulling it over her head. Reaching behind her she un-clipped her bra and removed it throwing it at Grey landing on his muzzle. He sniffed it then with a flick of his muzzle flung it to the side and looked back to Sarah. "That is a bit better now the rest I won't bite you know that." Feeling at his mercy she did as told sliding her tight fitting jeans off tossing them to the side but leaving her panties on for the moment. She laid down in the warm grass feeling a bit uncomfortable but that was human nature.

Grey sniffed the air and moved slowly to her nuzzling her naked flesh as he moved. His muzzle met her nose and he gazed into her eyes letting her know it was ok. "You are beautiful Sarah why you humans hide your forms is beyond my simple mind. Sit up I know I have not let you touch me please do not just lay there." She sat up and reached out hugging him pulling the 180 pound wolf to her naked body sending an un-pure thought through her body but one that she liked. Sarah curled her fingers dragging them through his fur feeling how strong he really was to his ears massaging them for a moment then sliding back down his sides. She explored his chest with her fingers tracing them over the scar he had shown her months before. His tail waged and began to wash her neck lovingly as the bonded. This was not a relationship of simple lust but one of trust and love. The two came from worlds so different but had learned to push their differences aside.
