A dragoness has a rather bad day working in a saloon. Is this her end?

This is what will ((Hopefully)) Be my coming out of retirement story. Given I'm sure I'm rather rusty be brutal with your criticism It's really apreciated.

The year is 1890 The old west is in it's twilight years. The magics of Kitsunes, Dragons, and Unicorns long forgotten. Though their traits are still considered a rarity. The invention of new more powerful firearms making the nigh invincible scales of a dragon less and less of an edge in fights. While the far more grievous wounds lead to many ding before the unicorns healing powers could take effect. While Kitsunes were all but forgotten entirely. Leaving most of the remaining ones as little more than foxes with an extra tail. Magic reached it's peak just before the end of the renaissance after which it slowly started to fall out of practice as more and more inventions made in irrelevant. Though as the west died magic started to rise again aiding and indeed coexisting with science. Our story takes us to one of the first to rediscover their powers. In a little dusty town known as Armadillo.

The quite almost calm sound of the clinking of shot glasses against the stained and cracked bar only broken occasionally by a curse from one of the select few furs who played poker in the back room. The rest of the saloon was occupied by seven tables almost all of them holding at least one fur or scalie. Most of the bars patrons made up by wolves and coyotes along with the occasional lizard or bear. Though given how violent things could become particularly in this age It wasn't surprising to see the more powerful predators gravitating toward a place where they could hunt to their, and their instincts, content. What was surprising was the oddly colored reptile sitting in the corner. Her form mostly hidden by the standard maid garb though not quite enough to hide the slight curve of her waist and hips. Indeed the mid length fluffy skirt accentuating that particular curve of her body.

She kept glancing between the bartender and the double half grates that served as a quite cliche door to the main area. As her gaze shifted back to the jack rabbit behind the bar for what must have been the thousandth time that evening she caught a slight movement. Barely half a nod but more than enough to catch her attention. She started to raise to her feet despite her best to remain composed her scaled paws stayed clenched just infront of her skirt. The lupine gave her no further instructions instead merely handing her a tray bearing several shot glasses and a bottle of whiskey.

While the reptile was more than strong enough to carry the weight of the glass her arm still shook slightly forcing her to take the tray with both hands. Her obviously filed down claws clinking light against the bottom of the metal tray. Her eyes traced across the entire room lingering on the door way for a moment before with a defeated sigh she turned.Hips swaying with a almost seductive if natural manner. Though simply the way she walked would show that she was quite disappointed with something. Though what was unclear. She once again hesitated at the door to the back room Her grip on the tray tightening until her scales were tight against the bones of her knuckles.

The dragoness wasn't average by any means. Her entire face seeming molded to an almost ambiguously gendered look. Only holding slightly more of a curve to her jaw and muzzle that would give a feminine impression. Though compared to most of the gruff unshaven and scared furs she was an absolute image of femanity. While she didn't have much of a curve to her breasts, simply the way her outfit puffed out in places gave her a far more curvateous figure than she really had. The Dragoness's black scales parting slightly on the few bits of exposed scales she had revealing the underside to be a far lighter color than her outer scales. Each of the normally concealed scales a slightly purple shade of blue.

The dragoness's footpaw started to ease the door open, Though the sudden burst of thick smoke and pungent scent of booze was almost enough to make her gag. Almost. She started her advance into the dimly light room. and toward the five purrs sitting around the green felt table in the center. Each of them holing a pair of cards in their paws. While four more cards lay in the middle of the table. She slowly stepped up to the table her lithe skilled paws moving the shot glasses from the tray to the table the last glass in her paw. The dragon reached across the table trying to hand the last fur his glass before a sudden though not unexpected touch caused her to jump sending the tray tumbling into the fur to her left's chips scattering them across the floor. While the tat to her right had taken his chance slipping his clawed and quite rough paw up the back of her skirt. Only reaching her thigh before she was throw from his touch. The fur two her left a almost six foot seven panther with muscles to match his height had back handed her sending the reptile sliding across the floor.

The panther stood from his chair paw already reaching for the double action revolver on his hip. Still advancing on the downed and clearly dazed dragoness. He pulled the pistol free of his holster the hammer already cocked back if simply for imposing his murderous intent.

"You stupid bitch, you probably just cost me three hundred dollars" The panthers paw tightened on the grip of his pistol, While the dragoness could do little more than stare up at the black barrel less than a foot from her head. "I don't like it when bar maid whores try to cheat me out of money. So I guess I'll just have to make sure you never do it again."

In that moment time seemed to slow down through the dragoness's tear filled eyes she could barely see what was happening. Though what she did feel was reverberations from a rather powerful handgun going off in the room, the feeling of a hot crimson liquid splashing against her muzzle. Then she slumped back in the corner trying despreatly to wipe the blood from her eyes The world seemed to start to fade to black for a moment as she heard the distinctive click of metal hitting the hard wood floor beneath them, and then nothing as her world faded to black.
