The first week no one knew Sarah was pregnant. Weeks later she had strange carvings everyone thought it was weird. Theodora told Sarah she was pregnant and Sarah did not understand. How? Pokémon lay eggs, not give live birth? The next day Steven said "let's try again I am sure we can have an egg. Sarah said "No, I cannot have eggs. I am pregnant, and I cannot explain it either. His jaw dropped as thoughts went through his head. What is going to happen? I need an expiation how this happened? He cleared his head and ran to Sarah. I am so happy and worried at the same time. After a month she looked like she was gaining weight. The rest of the village thought she was steeling food and confronted her. Sarah replied "I am pregnant" I have not been steeling food. One spearow believed her. His former master was pregnant and he had an idea what would happen. Soon the rest of the village accepted her and her now appearance. Two months went by Theodora egg had hatched. It was a hybrid that had his father's ears and coat. His mothers fur texture and looked like a vulpix. They named him Alex. They planned on teaching him to read and write then, math when it was warmer. It was the first spring of the exodus of the facility. The grass was green again. Berries were plentiful. Sarah was in the eight weeks of pregnancy when she started to have labor. Theodora met with other survivors who had medical training. The spring had more Pokémon coming from the abandoned areas. Three audino and a blissey when with her. The rushed to Sarah's aid. The pain was intense almost unfathomable. Laying eggs was a lot quieter. A head came out, then a body. It was a charmander. Steven saw his child panting for air. He used ember to light the tail. Then a second head appeared it was an eevee. When the body came out the task was not done. Next the placentas came out. Sarah collapsed out of breath. The charmander had fur instead of leathery skin and shorter claws. They named her Victoria. The eevee had no fur only skin except at the tail and the behind hiding his scrotum and belly. The rest was red skin with a white belly. They named him Jeffery. The human bodies began to rot and the smell was horrible. They took to the catacombs to keep them out of the way. They emptied the houses of remaining food and materials. The windows had been broken and without the ability to maintain them they were hazardous. A third of the group started to build a village closer to the lake they discovered. The catacombs were used to store things of value from the houses like small furniture and warm materials. There was one section where they stored artifacts of human civilization, from photos, books, and anything of value for parts. The canned food was still there with can openers. Bipedal Pokémon could open the cans. The food was still eatable but saved for harder times. When the weather was even warmer, a census was counted. There were 1000 survivors with sixth offspring, one hundred unhatched eggs. Half the survivors were too young to have eggs. The virus took out humans, the old, and most of the adults by starvation and disease. There was a ceremony for all they lost and to remember them. A crisis soon emerged they were running out of alcohol, food, and only a handful of Pokémon knew how to grow food. The population split up in search parities to find some vital resources. Some groups came back with more food and item of interest. Several groups raided for seeds and information to grow food. The population was too big to be nomadic. It was felt that a large group would not get attached for food or become food. There were stories of groups of Pokémon hunting just to survive. Tools were brought back by Pokémon who could farm. By the end of that year all food stores were gone, starvation and rationing was applied to survive the winter. Sarah and Steve lived for many years with many children, dozens of grandchildren. Sarah lived for 30 years and Steve lived for 32 years. Their legacy was live birth of Pokémon that prevailed for the next thousand years.
