A trainer's story [05]
#5 of A trainer's story
Helping Someone and Confession
(Route 203 - 6 pm, Jake's POV)
Phew...What a day! First, I got (or rather, adopted) my second pokemon, Typhlosion; and Second, my beloved Riolu pup had finally evolved to Lucario. While we were walking, I couldn't help gazing at him all the time, admiring his new features: His adorable ears and muzzle, his cream-colored furry chest, his powerful arms and legs. They were so cool, manly and...sexy. Though I couldn't carry him anymore, I still walked next to him, putting my arm around his shoulder and keeping him close to me. Oh wow, the feeling of his soft fur rubbing against my skin, I just couldn't get enough of it, just...too good for words. ^-^
Meanwhile, Lucario seemed to enjoy it too as he kept snuggling closer to me, his paws wrapping around my waist and his head rubbing against my side. I couldn't help chuckling: We looked like a happy couple that were enjoying every seconds of having each other. (of course Ryan would never notice, since he was used to seeing how close I was to Riolu/Lucario anyway)
Then again, why not? Lucario loved me, and I loved him. Why wouldn't I confess to him, so we could become a real couple instead of hiding my feelings for him forever?
Still, there was one thing that bothered me. Ever since Typhlosion joined my team, I had a really...weird feeling about him. It liked he was...staring at me. He also stayed by my side all the time, rubbing his head to my arm, nuzzling and purring. At first, I thought he was grateful that I let him join my team after Jackson (that bastard! Just remembering his name made my blood boil!) abandoned him; but came to think of it, I'd only been with him for merely a few hours, why needed to be so affectionate to me?
(Typhlosion's POV. I might do this POV more often)
I didn't know what the heck was wrong with me, but I just couldn't keep my eyes off Jake. Ever since he accepted me, Jake had been very kind to me. He treated me like a friend and let me stay outside the pokeball (I never wanted to stay in that damn ball, it was freaking cramped). Back when I was with Jackson, everyday seemed to be a constant war, doing nothing but battling other trainers. Yet, Jackson had never been so kind to me like Jake, and I couldn't even remember the last time he smiled to me.
But no matter how hard I tried to explain, I really couldn't get why I was so attached to Jake (and really, can you point out a reason why you like someone? Doubt it). Just looking at his cute (yes I said cute) smiling face was enough to make me blush, and everytime his skin touched my fur, it sent sparks of delight all over my body.
But right now, watching Jake and that damn Lucario walking so close to each other really made my blood boil. I meant look at them, being all clingy and lovey-dovey, holding and snuggling to each other like a happy couple...Ugh, it made me feel extremely jealous (okay, now I offically knew that I was in love with Jake). Why must it be that Lucario? (>.<) I should be the one holding Jake right now, not that jackal-like pokemon.
Anyway, I just knew that Lucario will be the only thing in my way to be with Jake, but I wasn't going to let him go. Jake will be mine, all mine. Just wait and see Lucario, I will claim Jake as my mate before you!
(Normal POV)
As the group was still walking, Lucario's ears suddenly twitched as he heard a rustling noise coming from the roadside bush. Jake noticed it too as he turned aside and asked the aura pokemon, "What's that noise, Lucario?"
"Shhh...", the aura pokemon placed his paw on Jake's lips, indicating him to keep silent, "...Behind us.", Lucario whispered. Jake immediately turned around, only to have his mouth gape open at what he saw, "Uhm guys, I think you should see this..."
Coming from the roadside bush was a pokemon with black mane cover part of its body and three gold rings on the backs of its forelegs. It had gold eyes with red scleras, and there was a gold four-stared shape on the tip of its long, black tails. Jake and Ryan quickly opened their pokedex to check what pokemon it was.
Luxray, the Gleam Eyes Pokémon. Its eyes can see through anything. It can even spot its prey hiding in the shadows.
What caught Jake's attention most was the pokemon's conditions: Luxray was badly injured. Its whole body was covered in bruises and cuts, and blood could be seen oozing constantly from its wounds. Seeing the electric pokemon's terrible state made Jake remember the first day he met Riolu, and he instintively ran over to Luxray, wanting to help the poor lion. However...at that very moment, much to everyone's surprise, Luxray suddenly released a yellow bolt of electricity right at Jake.
"Jake, look out!", cried Lucario as the aura pokemon swiftly ran forward and pulled Jake out of the way before the lightning bolt could hit him. Typhlosion, at the same time, released a fierce flamethrower at Luxray, but it easily dodged the attack. Lucario and Typhlosion then got in front of Jake, glaring daggers at Luxray as their instints told them to protect their beloved trainer.
"What the fuck was that?", Lucario snarled, "He just wanted to help you.". Typhlosion nodded in agreement and growled, "Don't you dare touching Jake again, or I'll turn you into grilled meat!"
"Stay away from me! I don't need help from you human!", Luxray yelled in a deep male voice, really to launch another attack. Lucario closed his eyes and tried to sense Luxray's aura: It was filled with hatred and fear. Something terrible must have happened to him, and it definitely had something to do with...human.
"Calm down, Luxray. Could you at least tell me what happened?", Jake asked as he got up and slowly walked over to the electric pokemon.
"Jake, what are you doing?", Lucario and Typhlosion shouted in unison.
"I said stay away from me!", Luxray snarled as yellow sparks could be seen emitting from his body. Jake flinched as the electric current shocked him, but managed to get close to Luxray. Getting on his knees, Jake smiled and stroke the pokemon's mane gently, "I want to help you. Please tell me what happened."
Luxray was a little scared and hestitage at first, but seeing the trainer's warm smile and his gentle gesture helped the pokemon to regain his composure. The electric pokemon brought his head up to look at Jake in the eyes, only to see pure kindness.
"I'm sorry. I lost control of myself.", Luxray said remorsefully, but Jake whispered into his ears, "It's okay. Now tell me what happened."
"I was attacked...", Luxray muttered, his body trembled violently as the memories flooded his mind, "I was searching for food when a human wearing blue clothes and a Mightyena attacked me...I tried to fight back, but he was too strong...I managed to escape before he could capture me.". Jake clenched his teeth, he had already known the human Luxray was talking about. A trainer wearing blue clothes with a Mightyena, that could only be...
"Jackson, that bastard!", Jake thought angrily, but snapped himself, "You're injuried, Luxray. Here, let me treat you wounds."
"Why do you help me?", Luxray asked and tilted his head, "I don't even know you."
"Guess I just want to...", Jake chuckled, taking out the first aid kit and healing potions from his backpack, "...Beside, I can't stand watching people or pokemon getting hurt without doing anything.". Luxray just stood there and watched as Jake bandaged his wounds.
"Jake is really kind, isn't he.", Ryan said as he placed both of his arms around Lucario's and Typhlosion's shoulder.
"Yeah...", both pokemon replied (but of course, Ryan couldn't understand them ^-^) while staring at Jake dreamily. As the trainer finished patching Luxray up, Jake remembered that Luxray said he was searching for food, and he did seem to be hungry, so Jake took out some pokechow (which he bought for Riolu during his time at Jubilife City, but the pup had never touched it) and gave it to Luxray with a smile, "Here, you must be hungry, eat this."
"This is..."
"Pokechow. Food for pokemon. I'm sure that it will taste as good as any kind of food you've eaten.", Jake replied with a smug smile. Luxray nodded and dug in.
"This Luxray really can break Lucario's record of gobbling if he's in my team.", Jake thought, "Too bad he isn't.". As the electric pokemon finished with his treat, Jake pat his head and smiled, "Well, that all I can do to help you for now. Get well soon."
"Wait...", Luxray called as Jake was about to leave, "What's your name?"
"I'm Jake, a pokemon trainer."
"Thank you...", Luxray said as he lowered his forelegs, "Can I ask you one thing?"
"Sure, go ahead.", Jake replied.
"Well, the truth is...I've been traveling alone for awhile now, and...uhm, I kinda want to have some company to talk with, so can I...join your team?", Luxray said shyly, looking to the ground.
"My team?", Jake asked, pointing at himself and Luxray nodded, "Wait...Are you sure about it?"
"I am.", Luxray said, "You don't want me in your team?"
"No, it's just that...uhm.", Jake scratched the back of his head, "How can I say this..."
"Please, let me go with you."
"Look Luxray...don't force yourself to do this just because I helped you. Beside, I really don't want you to regret making this decision later."
"I've been thinking, and I made up my mind."
"Alright.", Jake sighed in defeat and reached his belt for an empty pokeball, "Well first we need this procedure. But don't worry, it will only take a second."
Luxray nodded and Jake tapped the pokeball onto his forehead. A beam of red light engulfed Luxray's body and sucked him into the pokeball. The ball shook for a bit in Jake's hand, but then quickly settled down with a 'ding' sound.
"Now, come out.", said the trainer as he tossed the ball onto the ground, revealing the electric pokemon after a...(well, you know), "Okay, you're officially my pokemon, Luxray. Come withme.", Jake smiled and led Luxray to Lucario and Typhlosion, who were still staring at him (dreamily, of course ^-^).
"Hey guys, from now on, Luxray will be a member of our team. Please get along with him.", Jake introduced and both of them nodded, "Now take your time, I need to talk to Ryan."
...
"So, what exactly happened to that Luxray?", Ryan asked.
"Well...", Jake turned around and looked at Luxray, who was talking with Lucario and Typhlosion, "It was Jackson. Apparently after, uhm...abandoning (Jake whispered the word 'abadoning', cuz he didn't want Typhlosion to hear it) Typhlosion, he was looking for another pokemon to replace him, so he attacked Luxray with his Mightyena. But Luxray was able to run away before Jackson could capture him...", Jake stopped to regain his breaths.
"So that's why he looked so...angry when you attempted to get close to him."
"Yeah...But we're good friends now. He wanted to join my team, and I agreed.", Jake said. To prove his words, Jake took out Luxray's pokeball and tossed it up and down.
"Wow, two new pokemon in one day. Jake, you really are the man!.", Ryan teased with a grin, making Jake blush, "No...I, uhm, just being lucky, yeah, lucky...That's all. By the way, how's Charmeleon doing?"
"He's okay. Thanks to the healing potion, he just needs to rest for a while."
"I'm sorry. Because of me, Charmeleon is...", Jake muttered guiltily, but Ryan smiled and tapped his shoulder, "It wasn't your fault. I made that decision, and I will never regret it...Now then, let's take a break. We'll arrive at Oreburgh City tomorrow, so there's no need to rush. I'm sure that you're tired from everything happened today."
"Right.", Jake nodded.
(One hour later)
Jake and Ryan had the tent set up, the sleeping bags ready and the campfire burning.
"Hey Jake...", Ryan said as he finished his dinner.
"Yeah?"
"I think with your pokemon and experience now, you can challenge the Oreburgh gym leader."
"Uh huh..."
"What's wrong with you, Jake? You've been spacing out for more than half an hour.", Ryan said, looking at his friend concernedly.
"Eh, ah...no, I've been thinking.", Jake snapped, gazing to the campfire.
"About what?"
"About...uhm, nothing. Ryan, can you do me a favour and look after Typhlosion and Luxray for a while. I need to talk to Lucario in private."
"Sure, but do it quick. I'm pretty sleepy now.", Ryan yawned while covering his mouth with his hand.
"Okay.", Jake nodded and gently grabbed Lucario's paw, making the pokemon blush, "Let's go, Lucario."
...
Jake and Lucario continued to walk for a while, until the trainer thought they were out of the campsite's earshot and stopped. He turned around and looked at his pup intently with a soft smile, making Lucario tilt his head aside questionably.
"Uhm Jake...Why are you looking at me like that?", Lucario questioned.
"Actually, there is something very, very important that I need to tell you, Lucario...", Jake paused and got on his knee. Placing both hands on the aura pokemon's shoulder, Jake looked into Lucario's eyes, "I've been thinking about this, and I know it's still a little soon to tell you...but I can't wait any more.", Jake said as he slowly closed the distance between their faces.
"Can't wait for what?", Lucario said, his cheek was flushing red as he felt Jake's warm and gentle breaths on his face.
"For this...", Jake whispered and after that, he immediately sealed his lips with the aura pokemon's muzzle. Lucario's eyes widened in surprise, but he immediately snapped and started to kiss back with such passion. Lucario had always wanted to do this with Jake, but he didn't expect the trainer to make the first move (well, not that he was going to complain). The aura pokemon then sucked Jake's lips softly, asking for entrance. Jake gladly complied as he parted his lips open, letting the pokemon's canine tongue slide into his mouth. Jake moaned into the kiss as Lucario's tongue swirled around inside his mouth, exploring every corner there and caressing his own tongue. The kiss was a new experience for him (well, he did kiss Riolu before, but meh, didn't count) and he was enjoying every second of it, passionate and intimate. He pushed Lucario to the ground and pressed his body against the aura pokemon while still kissing him fiercely.
They continued to kiss for another half an hour, until both of them couldn't stand it anymore and had to break apart (to breathe), their lips were connected by a strand of saliva. Jake looked deep into Lucario's crimson eyes and smiled as he whispered into his pup's ears, "I love you, Lucario."
"I...", Lucario mumbled, tears of happiness streaming down his flushed cheek, "...I love you too, since the first time we met.". The aura pokemon then wrapped his arms around Jake's neck and pulled him closer.
Jake chuckled as he planted a soft kiss on Lucario's muzzle, "I know.". The trainer then laid down next to his new lover, wrapping his arms around Lucario to keep the pokemon close to him, sharing their bodies' warmth, "You are not very good at keeping secrets."
"What...what do you mean? When did I...?", Lucario blushed.
"After we battled Ryan, you fainted and was talking in your sleep. If I remember correctly, you were saying something like, uhm, let me see : Jake_, I love you_.", Jake teased.
"I...I said that!!??", Lucario mumbled, blushing so hard that his face almost looked like a ripe tomato, but Jake found it incredibly cute. He cupped the pokemon's face and stroke his soft, furry cheek lovingly, "That isn't important anymore. The only thing matters to me now is that we are lovers. I love you, Lucario."
"I love you too, Jake.", Lucario said as he leaned to his lover's strokes. Soon, they embraced each other tightly. They stayed like that for a while, just enjoying each other's company before Lucario helped Jake got on his feet as they headed back to the campsite together, hand in paw as the pokemon kept snuggling closer to his human lover, as if he never wanted to let go.
However, both Jake and Lucario were unaware that a 'certain' Typhlosion was watching their little loving-kissing scene all the time in jealousy.
(Typhlosion's POV)
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!...I never thought they would progress this fast. Now that they are lovers, it will be very diffucult for me to claim Jake as my mate...But I will never give up on him. Just wait, you damn mutt, I will take Jake away from you. He will be MINE, I swear it!"
