Rexius and Tom sat for a few minutes just looking at one another, Tom smiling, and Rexius blushing heavily and breathing hard. The more nervous Rexius got, the more Tom seemed to smile. Rexius broke the eye contact and shivered; the fire was dieing and the cave was starting to get colder. Tom spoke when he saw that the fire had gone out leaving just the warm, red coals behind. "Looks like its time for us to go to bed then, what do you say Rexius? Care to join me?" Rexius looked at Tom for a second before nodding his head in responceand scooting closer to his large, muscular body. Tom took one of Rexius's paws and gently pulled him closer, letting Rexius's head rest on his chest. Rexius gasped a little as his blushing was almost visible through his fur. Tom looked at him and chuckled. "You're cute Rexius, really really cute. You know i don't get much company out here anymore..." Rexius looked up at Tom and spoke, trying not to stutter as much. "Really? well.. i k-kinda left my people because they wernt very nice to me..." He trailed off and looked down at his paws. Tom frowned and nuzzled Rexius. "How were they being mean to you?" Rexius didn't speak for a few seconds because he was trying to contain his emotions. "They just didn't like me because I...." He trailed off and started to sob. Tom looked at him and rubbed the back of his head. "Hey now. No need to cry Rexius. You can tell me what happened." Rexius looked up, still with tears in his eyes and continued to speak. "They made fun of me and shunned me because i dont really like the girls in my village. I lean more towards the guys if you know what i mean." Tom looked at Rexius and just smiled softly and touched their noses together. "you know Rexius... I feel the same way, and quite frankly, I like you." Tom giggled and rubbed Rexius's chest with his paw. Rexius looked up and smiled weakly, opening up his arms to give Tom a hug. Tom returned the favor and licked at Rexius's neck pulling him closer to his warm body.

The night grew colder and colder as the two slept in each others arms. Tom and Rexius were happy that they each could have someone to hold. When the sun had just started to peak over the mountains and shine down through the forest canopy, the wildlife began to stir and make noise. Tom woke up streatching and yawning. He looked down to see Rexius still fast asleepon the mound of cow hides that was their bed. Tom stood up and fixed his loincloth to cover his sheath, which seemed pretty much pointless because it was so small and only covered the top, and he went to step out of the cave to get a bit of fresh air. "Well... I think I should ask him when he wakes up... I just hope he doesnt think that im moving too fast. I did only just meet him last night. Better get some breakfast so we don't starv." Tom then returned into the cave to grab his bow and a few arrows trying hard not to wake up the sleeping Rexius as he walked back out of the cave. After a few hours of hunting Tom returned with his game and hung it up outside of the cave. He walked in and saw Rexius trying to drag a log of wood to the fire circle, he had three there already but stopped after he drug the fourth one halfway. Tom chuckled a little and picked the log up and walked over to the fire circle placing the log down in the middle. "You're pretty strong for your size, I didnt think you could lift a log that size." Tom smiled and patted Rexius on the back. "you hungry?" Rexius nodded and flopped down on the cave floor to catch his breath as Tom lit the fire and went to get some of the meet he had just brought back to cook it.

Rexius looked over to Tom smiling and he sat up. "So.... Tom... uhm...how long have you lived here?" Tom looked at Rexius and answerd. "About ten years... I just wanted to live in the wild and not be controled by socioty anymore." Rexius nodded in an understanding manner. there was a long silence as the meet cooked over the fire before Tom took a deep breath. "Rexius... Can i ask you something?" Rexius looked up and smiled. "Sure, anyhting you want to aske me." He giggled and waited for Tom to ask his question. It was a long few minutes before Tom got the courrage to ask. "Do.... now don't get mad at me but.... I was wondering if maybe you could uhm... I don't know.... perhaps... Be my mate?" Tom quickly took the meet off the fire and sat it on a plate to cool off while he waites anxiously for an answer. Rexius looked at him blushing then at the floor twiddling his thumbs before speaking. "I... I wasnt sure you'd ask that.. heh.." still blushing and fidgiting he answerd softly. "yes."
