*Chapter 3 *

A couple weeks went by, during that time Juju and Groven happily settled in with their new trainers. Every so often they were allowed a few hours to themselves to train and be together. They had come to the bustling Hearthome City. Scores of trainers and their Pokemon populated the streets and paths around the tall buildings. Juju and Groven's trainers wanted to check out the dance classes at the Performing Arts building just west of the Pokemon Gym. Groven turned to Juju, grasping her hand in his as they walked side by side with their trainers through the busy streets.

"That's it right there!" Juju's trainer piped up, pointing towards a large dome-shaped building, decorated with flashing lights and a giant Pokeball over the doorway.

They entered the building, all gasping as they beheld the large crowd of people and Pokemon waiting to get in for some dance lessons. As Juju and Groven passed by, a hand reached out and grabbed Juju by her arm, yanking her off balance, almost falling to the ground just before Groven reacted, catching her. Groven looked up to growl at whoever knocked her over, but instead found himself staring at another Grovyle identical to himself. He helped Juju up before turning his attention back to the Grovyle, each move he made, the other mirrored. Juju slashed at the Grovyle, being startled as it transformed into a Charmeleon before their eyes. A trainer in his mid 20's stepped towards the Pokemon chuckling.

"Haha oh sorry about that you two, this is Coppie, it's my Ditto." He said smiling.

"Oh what a cool Pokemon you have!" Said Juju's trainer as the Ditto transformed back into it's original form.

"Thank you, I'm getting some dancing lessons for Ditto in about an hour, I could get your Grovyle and Charmeleon in if you'd like."

"That would be great, we were actually going to but the lines are pretty long." Groven's trainer said.

"Don't worry about it, why not go for a stroll in the park just behind the building to pass the time?"

"Oh that would be fun, I could use the time to study my guide book!" Said Juju's trainer eagerly.

"Wonderful, I'll tag along."

The trainers released their Pokemon into the park while they rested on a bench close to the entrance.

"You guys have fun, Juju and Groven you're in charge, stay close." Said Groven's trainer to the Pokemon.

Cody set off towards a small pond with Pichu closely behind, Geodude decided to try out the jungle gym built especially for Rock Pokemon, while Ditto stayed by his trainer. Groven and Juju watched the others part before looking to where they'd like to go. They spotted a small bit of a forest on the far north side of the park, making their way slowly to take in the sights.

They came to a small clearing in the forest, no Pokemon around to disturb them. Groven walked a few steps ahead of Juju, making it seem he was gazing at the trees. Juju watched him for a moment, before looking down with a hand on her right arm, feeling her cheeks flush from being nervous of what was to come. Groven suddenly turned around in a slow yet attractive way. Juju couldn't help but look up and smile shyly as he started to walk slowly towards her, moving an arm out as if to point at her with each step, mirrored perfectly. The scene was amusing to Juju, almost as if he was dancing towards her to sway her. Groven got right up in front of her, gazing down with dreamy half-lidded eyes, offering a hand to her as he half bowed. She giggled softly as Groven pulled her close to his body, fitting his left hand's fingers in between hers on her right hand, his other hand and arm sliding around to her lower back. She moved her other arm up around his neck and looked into his focused eyes. His whole being was presented to her in a single gaze, she could see through to his emotions and utmost feelings for her. Groven began to sway his hips, keeping Juju's body in tune with his movements as they began to dance. Juju accidentally stepped on Groven's foot, cooing an apology while trying to watch how their feet moved to synchronize with him. Goven nuzzled his snout against her neck, licking gently while breathing in and out against her skin. Juju giggled once again as she began to sway her tail back and forth to each step they took together. Groven and Juju parted, being joined by just the grip of a pair of locked hands. He spun her around in an elegant circle, turning her so her back was against his front, holding onto her hand as he placed his other arm and hand over her stomach, licking her nose. He spun her again, this time coming back face to face once more, feeling their bond and confidence growing. Groven roared with delight as they continued to dance with each other, trying out new moves as they got use to the way each other moved. A jolt of excitement overcame Groven, he picked up Juju suddenly, making her yelp from being startled, holding onto her tight as he pushed her up against a tree, letting one of her legs support her while lifting the other with an arm. He scratched two long deep ridges into the tree bark with his other hand, growling affectionately while he licked and kissed Juju's neck. She enjoyed every moment of his love, wrapping her arms around his neck generously. Groven started getting closer, pressing his hips against Juju's hips to indicate his changed mood. She growled in protest, shoving him off her. He looked at her worried he did something wrong.

"Now is not the time." She growled, giving him a serious look.

"Sorry about that...got a little carried away." He looked away, scratching at the soft dirt with his foot.

"It's ok, you're still my strong sweet Grovyle." She hugged him tight, snuggling her head against the crook of his neck.

He couldn't help but let a proud smile form on his lips, hugging his arms around her protectively.

Groven and Juju made their way back to call the other Pokemon in preparation to leave the park.

"Oh perfect timing, we've got 15 minutes to head there." Said the trainer with the Ditto. "Well let's go!" Juju's trainer said.

The three trainers arrived at the dance hall, finalizing which Pokemon they'd be using in the dance lesson. First lesson was with a partner, which was quite easy and enjoyable for Juju and Groven. They learned how to waltz with each other, getting a number of compliments from neighboring Pokemon.

"The next part of our dance lesson is solo dancing!" The announcer's voice came over an intercom from a microphone in her hand.

Juju was up first, her hands trembled as she stood before the other Pokemon and their trainers. She started to back away off the stage, butterflies speeding around in her stomach. Groven walked up to the front of the stage, getting Juju's attention.

"Pretend I'm the only one here baby." He growled to her before stepping back with the other Pokemon.

Nodding slowly, she resumed her position in the middle of the stage, her arms calmly hanging by her sides as the music started to play. She closed her eyes, letting the music build to the starting chorus. As it began, she swayed her hips side to side, including her tail, moving faster with each beat. She stepped forward with her left foot, moving her right foot back, repeating the step with the other foot three times before spinning to the left, then again to the right. She felt the other Pokemon weren't very impressed with her dancing so she turned up the heat. Juju roared extremely loud, increasing the size of the flame on her tail until it was a faint blue and the size of a soccer ball. She twirled in a circular shape while swishing her tail in the direction of her turns, making a giant sparkler out of her tail. Still not satisfied, she used her flamethrower to ignite her paws on fire, turning them into living torches. She moved back towards the center of the stage, twirling on the spot, each time her body faced towards the crowd, she thrust an arm out before quickly pulling it back once again, her other arm straight up in the air. It looked as if she was performing a native dance, using her fire power to show true passion and confidence within her soul. Juju then leaped high in the air, spreading her arms up and out wide, hands still on fire. She came down hard upon the stage, spinning faster than before like a toy spinning top out of control. As if it wasn't enough, Juju lit her entire body on fire as she spun, throwing shards of hot flame in every direction, causing the other Pokemon to flinch and squint their eyes from the brightness. The move lasted several minutes, ending with Juju striking a deadly pose as the music died down and finished.

The Pokemon and trainers cheered, clapping loudly at Juju's stunning performance. She bowed before parting from the stage to join the crowd below.

At last it was Groven's turn to strut his stuff for everyone to see. He decided to focus more on wooing Juju rather than impress the other Pokemon. As the music began to spill into the room, Groven moved, peaceful and kind, like a tree swaying in the breeze. He danced slowly to the right side of the stage, waving his arms like branches stretched out trying to tickle the sky. He spun around twice, bringing both arms up on his left side, closing his eyes as he spun back around towards the left side of the stage. He danced slow for several moments with the beat of the music. As it came to the climax of the song, Groven jumped in the air, twisting and spiraling as he showed off skills of balance, endurance, and strength. When the song came to it's end, Groven shot two streams of Razor Leaf from each side, making them move in a twister just above his head, letting the leaves sprinkle down in a brilliant leaf shower. When the leaves stopped falling, he ducked his head, eyes closed, with his arms spread straight out like a great bird; ending his routine.

The audience clapped and cheered just as they had done for Juju. Groven hopped off the stage, getting a warm hug from his mate as he walked over to her. He smiled and licked her snout while he stroked her left cheek adoringly.

"Well done everyone, we witnessed some extravagant dance moves today, please come back soon for some more dancing fun!" Came the announcer once more to finish the lesson.

Outside in the reception area, Juju and Groven were given a ribbon for being such inspirational and experienced dancers. The announcer from the lesson approached the trainers, "sorry to bother you, but I noticed your Pokemon were quite talented dancers. There is a dance competition next week, you should enter your Grovyle and Charmeleon as a pair, I'm sure you'd do very well!" She handed them a small paper with info about the contest printed on one side, and a digitally created image of dancing Pokemon on the other.

"I say definitely, what about you two?" Groven's trainer said, looking at him and Juju; they both looked at each other and nodded. "Oh brilliant, we'll get in some practice before-hand."

"I must say your Pokemon are quite the amazing dancers." The trainer with the Ditto added.

"Thank you, your Ditto was quite good too!" The two trainers said in unison.

"Haha, thanks boys, but your Grovyle and Charmeleon really have chemistry." He smiled and handed a poffin to his Ditto.

Juju's trainer looked at her while thinking steadily, "hey what was that move she used in her dance? She never did it before."

"I think it was Fire Spin." Groven's trainer said.

They looked at Juju, who nodded in approval, she had learned Fire Spin on her own.

"Oh that's wonderful, always great to see your Pokemon grow on their own, it's a sign of trust and health." Said Ditto's trainer, overhearing them. "Why don't I take you to the Poffin House to learn how to cook them for your Pokemon?"

"Sure that would help a lot." Said the two trainers.

"Make sure you have some berries on hand, you need them to make poffins." He smiled.

Groven moved a hand behind his back quickly, producing a small berry he was holding onto with one of his tail leaves. It was an Oran Berry, it had the ability to heal a small amount of health if eaten. He poked his trainer on the shoulder to get his attention, showing the berry when he turned around.

"Oh wow Grovyle, you're giving me your berry?" He smiled, surprised at the same time.

Groven nodded, smiling back and handing over the berry. Juju watched and happily grinned when he looked her way.

"Then it's settled, we'll go make poffins tomorrow, sound good?" Asked Ditto's trainer.

"Yes, sounds good to us." Said Juju's trainer.
