Awaking of Thomas (part 1.)
Prologue
I founded myself standing on the side of the road that winds deep in the forest, the leaves resting on the cool mother earth. The evening sky, begins to paint across the sky leaving some bright specks of starts in the east. The directions I had been given, had me lined up with other cars on the side of the road. Not far off an older woman one of the Elders in the Grove awaits you with a motherly look. She waves an old weather hand at you, she was dressing in hard dark robe and letting her silver hair loss in long locks. "Come child, he is waiting."
"I umm...thanks" i say following her. This was my first time here. I was very nervous that I was even accepted or allowed to come here.
She leads you down the old trail, moving pretty fast for an old lady, she seems to stop every now
again looking up at the trees or even passing a look at you. "So lad, what be ya name. The Guardian be ask'n so much about ya!" Her accent was hard to place but something between irish or scottish.
"Oh I'm umm...Thomas. But they call me Thom for short. " I say. I looked a bit nervous wearing my khaki cargo pants and t-shirt and a jacket on. I was nervous but also excited at the same time. I had to push my glasses up my nose every now and then as I followed her.
"Merry Meet then Thom," she bows which was not much being as she was not all that tall. Moments later the sky seemed to grow darker, as a fire could be seen dancing off in the woods. "Me name be Babd" she says, her hands weave in the air. The limbs of trees part makinging a clear path with into the the woods. Before allowing you to move she step in front of you, her hand producing a dagger, "Now Thom, do ya inner at you're free will?" sounding more of a statement but she did form it to a question with a raised eyebrow.
"Y..yes I do.." I say with a gulp.
"An do ya inner in perfect trust lad?" Her blade gone a smile painted on her face.
"Yes " I say
She walks up, pulling your forehead down and kisses you on the third eye, then both cheek, "May you see in Truth, Speak in Truth, and Love in Truth." Letting go she steps to the side, an outstretched arm pointing into the woods. "Have faith lad!"
I thank her and walk into the clearing.
Standing in the clearing of tree, the figure stood with flames dancing on his body. It was covered in fur so gray the moon looked to have been painted on him It was a wolf of some kind, standing on his bent legs, dressed in forest green's some kinds of kilt. On his back a very long bow, a naked sword resting by his side. His eye's flicked you're way first, while he cleaned his left paw with a dagger. Shifting his weight the wolf turned to look at you, his eyes glowed with the fire life playing inside of them. Off behind him you could see other humans here to, just outside the clearing watching and waiting.
I gulp nervously not sure of what I was seeing but fascinated while watching him. I couldn't move as I just stared at his body as his eyes locked with mine
Faster than the eye the wolf's dagger has found it's place back in those robe or klit. His body was very defined with muscles, which made the fur move like water when he walked up. A very predatory walk, that even the best trained human could never match. Now closer he was tall, well pushing to seven feet. His paws massive, but looked very dexterous at the same time. A scent of sage rolled off the wolf's body, when his reached up and brushed you're cheek.
I quivered slightly from his touch as I was only about five foot nine or so. I still couldn't believe what was happening. IF this was real or something from a herb or something in the air.
"I'm very real," the wolf's voice very gruff but low. "My name is Azure, and I've been summon here from the Otherworld to bring you home." He leans in and lays a soft kiss on you're human lips, his tongue explore the softness of them. Pulling away, "I think you are ready yourself but know it now."
"I..what? Why me? " I gulp blushing from the kiss.
A woman's husky but soft voice echos from out the west corner of the clearing, her hair was as red as blood, her full dress dark as night. Her face was very pale, and was graced with the greenest eyes. She appeared to be an elf, but there was something more to her, seeing a rave setting on her shoulder. You're read bit and pieces about her then it dawn on you, she was the Morrigan.
I look from the wolf to the Morrigan. "why was I brought here?" I say feeling confused as I still could only look at the tall wolfman.
"To be awaked." She matter factly points out. "I am the Goddess of Death and Rebirth." Her eyes look at the wolf stand by you, "Tell him what has happened. Then I'll decide if I will grant a boon to you Azure."
The wolf shifted his steps his ears speaking more in words, "You," he directs his eyes to Thoms, "We had to hide you here in this world, because you carry something that may yet save all the worlds from the great end. It has now come to the time we," he turns around in circle pointing out all those in the clearing, "came and got our own and bring them home." He stops, looking down at you.
"I'm...n..not from here..? Im..from somewhere else?" I say looking confused. "But..what could I possibly have?"
This time the Morrigan spoke, "You carry one of the many power of creation inside of you, one that a creature seeks. I've been there, to reshape your first body when the Gods awakened you when they fear that this power would be stole. They gave that power life, so it could better protect yourself." She glides across the ground with easy. "You are infact one of his kind, a Faolchú." Her hand resting on the wolf before you.
"It's a very old term for wolf." Azure defines it with his paws talking with him. "Once she awakes the blood inside of you, most of your memories will return. It was better to hide them from you so as to help you hide here on this plane." For such a big wolf his eyes had a kind of love in them only that another soul mate would know. He kneels down, taking your hand and looks at you eye level. "I need you, with you by my side we can protect all the worlds."
I look at him feeling the emotion in his eyes. "Ok...if this is true..it's better than what I am doing with my life here. "
"There is another here, Keal is his name." She speaks again. "He is a Guardian and one of the other powers of creation. I'll give you shape, you may take when battling the darkness that try's to take this world again." Her hand softly placed on your shoulder, "We all need you." the Morrigan really smiled at you, like a mother to her child.
I smile at her and nod. "I'm ready. " I say and look back towards the wolf.
"This will not feel good at first." Her voice sad. The Morrigan steps into the fire, her dress burning in the flames. In your field of vision other's walked up to her hold items in blows, one old woman mixing something as she walks up.
"What are you doing!" I say going to try and pull her from the flames my mind and protective instincts going into effect
Azure pulls you're paw away, and leans in to whisper into your ear, "She is fixing to start the breaking of that body so you may take the form you are able to take. Unlike you I cannot take on the form of human." Azure stops back when the old woman was up.
"Drink lad, and all of it." She chastises before you can remark.
I take the bowl of whatever concoction she was making and drink from it gulping it down.
The brew was very smooth and went down, but when it hit the belly it let a fire in it that as very warm. The Morrigans eyes flare when she begins to speak, "Earth my body, solid and sand make his body strong so he may stand." The very earth under your feet comes to live, weaving in a small vortex at first. Rocks and dirty swirling so fast, the very cloth was removed, you skin being being to feel dry and crack. Small rivers of blood start to drop out of you, yet the pain was not that much yet.
"Aghh..." I groan feeling my skin as I hold my stomach
