Welcome to the Rabid: Teacher's Crush
#20 of Underwater Fantasies
Leilani finally makes an appearance in the ongoing "Welcome to the Rabid" series, with hats off to Northernwolf for being so patient and for keeping me busy and bouncy with story ideas. Lani, as a human, has an unbelievable crush on one of her college teachers, a mysterious Hawaiian man named Enakai. She's about to be invited to the notorious Canadian nightclub for a night she'll never forget. This story "got away from me". =) It was originally paid for 5,000 words and - yeah, I went overboard. But as you read this, you'll see why I did...and why I really like how it turned out. <3 Give this one a lot of love, won't you? * ^^ *
Commission for Northernwolf (OH CANADA!)
One-thirty.
Right on time. He's as efficient as a Japanese railway schedule with his dietary habits, and I find myself wondering if it's an obsessive-compulsive reflex. Or maybe he just realizes he only gets a half-hour lunch and wants to be on time every day.
I watch him get into line, speaking amiably with some of the other kids and laughing, and grab a tray of selected food. He's one of the few teachers I know who eats their lunch with other Toronto University students here in the cafeteria.
He's always so bouncy. I've noticed that about him every time I see him, whether I'm in the cafeteria or listening raptly to him in American History class. He's always in such a good mood, no matter what. And his lectures, my God, it's like watching an actor's audition! He's so filled with good humor and spirit and so much spunk as he pantomimes the Battle of the Bulge from World War II, making real machine-gun fire noises, taking us on a delightful quest through the densely-forested region of Wallonia in Belgium, killing every German soldier in sight. And all the while his intense blue eyes are gleaming wildly beneath long waves of thick, grab-able black hair you just want to lose your hands inside.
I guess that's when I really started to notice Mr. Jaffers, well, Enakai actually. He insists everyone calls him Enakai - and for some reason he also loves the nickname "Otter". Well, it would sure fit his personality, no question about that. He's bubbly and witty, and always so happy and carefree. If he didn't know his stuff about history, I'd swear people would have considered mental care for him some time ago. But deep down, I'd probably go to visit him, in whatever sanitarium he ended up. Just to listen to his voice, and be lifted by his spirit, especially when I've had a hard day.
Like today, actually. Mrs. Beatrice Malia has insisted that I'm still her little girl and I'm brown-bagging. Tuna-salad, an apple, and small carton of juice. And I don't have to tell you what happens to a tuna-salad sandwich left to sit inside a storage locker for four hours.
Dammit, Mom!
Well, this was par for the course of my Friday, actually. A parking ticket when I woke up this morning, late for my first class with The Wicked Witch of the West, Darlene Colson, and I'm pretty sure I flunked her pop quiz on Greek Mythology, and to top it off, I ripped my good faded designer jeans on a door frame as I was hurrying out to go to my Tennis class.
I stare at what used to be a sandwich on my tray and consider starving 'til dinner. The apple's all bruised and starting to go brown anyway. I resign myself to the juice box, focusing my attention back on Enakai, now casually walking past the rows of chattering students with his filled tray.
And walking this way!
Quickly I brush a few locks of black hair from my face and straighten up in my chair, grabbing the juice box and at least trying to show some kind of enthusiasm towards my lunch.
"I smell tuuuuuuuna-feesh." He surprises me with a little laugh and before I can reply he takes the seat across from me and plunks down his tray.
He brings a little giggle from me and I immediately love him for doing so. "Mother's recipe, Otter." I adore calling him "Otter". It just feels...right somehow. My green eyes look into his and I imagine they are twinkling. "You're...welcome to it, if you want."
He smiles, beautiful white teeth belying the deeply-tanned face and strong chin. "You're not eating today, Lani? That makes me sad. And you know what happens when you make Otter sad."
I chuckle and shake my head. "Don't you dare." But he is already starting to get up. "Nono! I promise, I'll shape up, please. Oh God, not here!" I am giggling now, trying to grab at his arm. The thought of him getting up and performing his patented "Happy Otter" dance in front of the immature and captive audience unnerves me. Only his students in History classes really get his natural good humor and charm. Others would probably label him a lunatic.
He grins widely and sits back down. "Seriously, if you don't want it..." He's eyeing the sandwich hungrily. "Here, trade me. A sub-par sub sandwich, but at least it's fresh."
I giggle again. "Agreed. Thou knowest well how to trade, good sir."
We eat our sandwiches in comfortable silence, looking at one another and smiling. It suddenly occurs to me, I've never been so close to him before. And God, he is just as handsome as ever. A few girls wander past our table and greet Enakai with a chorus of "Otters", which he returns with this strange sound. I can't describe it. It's like a cat's purr, but more gravelly, like the cat is underwater or something. The girls laugh among themselves and hurry off, sneaking flirtatious glances over their shoulders.
Well, I can't blame them. Enakai "Otter" Jaffers is probably the cutest instructor in the school. He's six-foot-four, rather buff, like he could have been a high school football player. Amazing eyes, almost sky blue. Deep natural tan all over, because he's from the South Pacific region like myself. And the hair, oh my God, the hair. He wears it long and untied, spilling down his shoulders in gorgeous waves, straight and not curly at all. I saw him wear it in a top-knot before and practically wet myself in the chair.
I've done that quite a few times. The nice thing about not being too Miss Popular is that you can sit in the back and no one really notices you. I like to do that during History class, and especially when I'm wearing a sundress or skirt. I watch my Otter speaking in front of the class, taking us on some bold expedition in our minds, and rub myself fitfully between my legs. I rub myself until I can feel my plump, swollen mons starting to form the perfect camel-toe against my panties.
"Miss Malia," he'll say to me. "You're not paying attention. That makes me a sad otter." And then he'll ask me to stand up - and suddenly the class is empty, and it's only us in the room. I'm still caressing my mound in the chair hotly, feeling the combination of my perspiration and scent starting to rub off of me and moisten my fingers.
"Yes, my Otter," I whisper huskily. My half-lidded eyes look into his as I play with my bliss, stroking it faster. I slip a hand down under my panties to push a finger into myself now, and make believe it's his own strong hardness entering me. Before I realize it, I'm cumming in my chair, biting my bottom lip almost hard enough to draw blood to keep from crying out, clenching my finger tightly and...
"Miss Malia? You alright?"
I shake my head of lusty cobwebs and realize my heart is pounding. I'm back at the cafeteria again. "Oh, I...sorry, I'm a little out of it, I think. Maybe my mensies soon or something." Which is a lie, since I just got over the last batch.
Enakai tilts his head rather exaggeratedly, causing me to laugh again. "Well, I hope you'll come back in for class this afternoon. Much to learn. More battles, more tanks, more jeeps, more guns, more Germans, more-"
I giggle and bring up my hand to stop his rattling. That's something else about him. He talks a mile a minute if you really get him going. It doesn't matter the topic at hand - you can tell by the look in his eyes, he loves to talk about it. Sometimes we'll need to ask him to repeat himself during a lecture filled with note-taking, he talks that fast or incoherently. "I'll be there with bells on," I promise him with a warm smile.
"Everything else going okay, Lani?" He surprises me by taking my hand and holding it, and it takes every ounce of energy I can muster inside me not to let the blood flow to my cheeks.
There is something so right about this...
I instinctively squeeze his fingers, enjoying the touch of him so much. "Right as rain, mon capitan," and present him with a sincere smile, hoping I don't look too lusty. "It's just...ugh, I think I flunked Miss Colson's quiz today."
"Ah, the Witch," Enakai replies and grins widely. Darlene Colson is known far and wide around most of the school for having the most peculiar laugh, so high-pitched and screechy, she could pass for the West Witch from the land of Oz. Someone joked about it to her face once and she seemed to almost appreciate it. I guess every teacher needs to build a solid reputation with the kids to save their tenures, right? But in Enakai's case, I don't think that's it at all. I don't think he's trying to put on a façade, or be someone completely different in order to win over people.
I truly believe this man is just, well...happy.
"Yes, the Witch. And it's so unfair. Come on, like I'd know anything about Greece coming from Hawaii." I notice he's staring at me intently, still smiling, still holding my hand and gently, soothingly caressing my fingers, and I absently start to caress his in return. His skin is so soft and so smooth. He's easily past 40 but I swear there's not a wrinkle in sight.
"Well, you knowww, I'm from Hawaii too. I think that's why I'm drawn to conversing with you as much as I do. We island folks gotta stick together, show these haoles how it's done, my little wahine. You in?"
I laugh again and squeeze his hand as he reverts to our private, personal slang of the South Pacific. "Of course." I love it when he calls me "wahine". I certainly fit the mold. Long, dark, waist-length hair, fluffy in all the right places. A deep dark tan and a little button nose, rather plump cheeks but not so much you'd label me a chipmunk. I guess I'm a little shorter than the average South Pacific fantasy type at five-four but still, I'm really not a bad-looking girl at all for 20. I've had my share of dates, and even a few one-night stands while in my first year here at Toronto as an exchange student, but nothing serious yet, unless you count my almost-daily mental seductions with Enakai.
He squeezes my hand again and gets serious for a moment, I think, though he still holds a goofy grin. "Any plans for the weekend? A beautiful girl like you should be out on the town, eating dinner, watching a movie, roaming the beaches, out for a drive, walking in the park..."
I smile at his nonsensical rattling off and giggle softly. While others may find it annoying and exasperating, I find his mannerisms and the way he speaks so wonderful. "I don't know, Otter," I sigh and look around us, noticing most of the cafeteria has cleared. "Perhaps I'll go out, we'll see."
He lets go of my hand at last and folds his arms on the table, watching me steadily. "Have you ever heard of The Rabid?" he asks, and it seems as if his voice has softened even more.
Sure I have. Who hasn't? I've started to hear quite a few tales about the place lately in my short time here. It's mostly whispers in the hallway though. The Rabid quite likely exists solely on word of mouth, I imagine. And from what I've heard, it's a rocking good time. One of my friends here, Benjamin Moreland, swears by the place. I've actually known Ben longer than anyone else here at school. We met the first day. He was such a...well, it's odd that I think about this now, but he's a lot different size-wise than he was when we first saw each other.
I remember asking him how he got so buff so fast, and he just grinned and looked at me with deep blue eyes, and told me it was a growth spurt probably. There was something about his eyes too. Really dark circles under them, like he'd hardly slept in days, but he was still the same jovial Ben. I joked once that he was starting to look like a raccoon and he laughed a little too long and loudly before playfully punching my arm.
I nod at Enakai, taking a last sip of my juice box. "Mmhmm, swanky dance club for the upper-crust, as I understand it. Seems to be really attractive to animal-lovers, from what I know, right?"
He smiles and nods back. "In a manner of speaking, yes, I suppose it is. How would you like to come tonight? I'm bringing a few of the seniors there as part of a graduation party and...I'd love for you to come too. Maybe you'll make some new friends..."
I don't have to tell you how important it is to get along with the senior class. The more seniors you know, the better for your image. These are people you want to always remember, because they're about to embark on the ultimate voyage - life itself. No more books, pencils, or classes.
Just them against the whole damned world.
If you're lucky enough and maintain strong friendships and bonds, these seniors invite you into their lives. They mentor you and prepare you, and sometimes they offer you a leg up when it comes to starting your own life, maybe with a job referral or a handsome new boyfriend.
"I'm not sure," I falter a bit and toy with my hair absently. "I-I'm not 21, and if they card me..."
Enakai grins and reaches for my hand again. "You leave that to me. I know a few of the bounces there. They'll let you in, wahine, I promise. 116 Main and Superior. Be there around nine-ish, okay? Any more ish than that and you could miss out on the yummy cake and ice cream and candied yams and aardvarks and sloths..."
God, I love the way he talks! "Sounds...yummy," I muster with a little laugh and then he's nodding quickly and getting up, a little bounce to his step as he heads for the cafeteria doors. I watch him leave, wearing his patented faded jeans and white dress shirt, and I can just imagine gorgeous, sculpted muscles underneath those clothes.
A hand steals between my thighs, and I pray to God no one walks past me as I ease a little of the lust that has been inside me since Enakai sat down. It takes me a few minutes, but I achieve a small orgasm, just enough to form an already-fading wet spot on my crotch.
**
I had no trouble finding the place. While The Rabid may pride itself on the grapevine for its clientele, you can literally see the club from a mile away. Large yellow, red and white revolving lights festooned across the large red shingled awning splashed their winking glows endlessly upon the sidewalk and main street. Before I could even park the car in the graveled lot out back, I heard the swelling bass rhythm inside. I found a slot next to a fancy Jaguar and got out, taking a few deep breaths to calm myself.
I really didn't know what to expect. Enakai had promised he would meet me outside if I was on time. I glanced nervously at my cellphone.
9:20. Certainly nowhere near 9-ish. I'd spent too much time fretting over the outfit to wear. I wanted to look desirable, but I didn't want to give away the farm either. In the end, I'd settled on tight faded blue jean shorts, a white bra and matching short-sleeved shirt that buttoned down close to the top of my breasts, allowing at least a little dark cleavage to show.
I stood there and looked fearfully at the large red-brick building before me, wondering what to do. Perhaps the bouncers knew I was coming? I started walking over the gravel in short white leather pumps, finding my way around the winding lot and approaching the front of The Rabid. There was a small crowd standing outside, smoking cigarettes and chatting aimlessly, but no one seemed to be waiting in line - much less waiting for me.
I sighed. Part of me wanted to turn around and head back to my car, but I feared the idea of seeing Enakai on Monday and trying to explain my reasons for ditching out. On the other hand, if the bouncers refused to let me in solo, I certainly had a good excuse. Resignedly, I steeled myself and walked purposely up to the front doors, nodding politely to the group of smokers before going inside.
As soon as I was in, the atmosphere of the place overwhelmed me immediately. There were a lot of people milling around, having drinks, talking, laughing and dancing. Further in, some groups of people sat down on comfortable couches, their eyes glued to huge HDTVs set up near the ceiling, engrossed with what seemed to be animal adventure shows. Beyond that was a large dance floor, complete with a DJ booth, and beside it a long bar counter with plenty of stools.
As I walked further in, I couldn't believe I hadn't been stopped or accosted at all. I heard a bit more raucous activity going on way in the back of the building and noticed a line of dimly-lit booths, with several patrons drinking steadily or making out. In one of the booths, I happened to see my friend Ben, arm in arm with a nice-looking dark haired guy. I gave him a quick wave, but he either didn't see me, or pretended not to notice. I watched, a little dumbstruck, as he turned his head to give the guy beside him a deep, soulful kiss.
Huh. Well, that would certainly explain his lack of interest in me lately. Since our first day together at the university, he and I had wanted to hook up somehow. Maybe we felt, since we were the newcomers, we had to reach out to one another for company and warmth, a way to get over the dread of being so far and gone from the comfortable surroundings of high school and lost lovers.
I watched Ben and his companion make-out for a moment, and then a couple, a dark-haired man and a red-haired woman, brushed past me and joined the other guys at the booth. I suddenly felt like I didn't belong here at all and backed away. The loud music and swirling lights were getting to me, and I could feel a headache coming on. But I was still intent on somehow finding Enakai's senior party and at least making an appearance. I just knew he'd understand if I wanted to leave.
As it turned out, I walked right into the man as I turned around, nearly smacking my face into his chest.
How long had he been standing there watching me?
"Woop! Whoa there, wahine, we just met!" Enakai laughed above the music and hugged around me, allowing my face against his tight t-shirt briefly. Up close, I could smell him. All of him. The cologne was unrecognizable to me. It didn't seem like any store-bought musk at all, it seemed almost like...the beach...the ocean?
I smiled and pulled reluctantly away from his arms, looking immediately bashful. "I'm sorry I'm so late."
Enakai smiled, showing his perfect teeth. "Well, I'm really glad you're here." His blue eyes looked intently into mine and I could see his deep sincerity and warmth. "So glad, you have no idea..." He reached for my hand again and I melted, the way I usually do. "Come on, wahine, the group's right over here..." I was led past the booths to a small dining set-up in the farthest part of the building, across from the lavatories. Inside, two small tables with plenty of chairs had been arranged, with a delightful assortment of appetizers in decorative bowls at a bar counter.
Milling around one of the tables were six older students, three boys and three girls, chatting amiably and laughing, looking like they were having the time of their lives. As Enakai came in, they all stopped talking and cheered and whistled when they saw me. "Hey, she made it!" one student, a very handsome blonde-haired boy, came over to shake my hand vigorously, seeming to bounce up and down on his feet. "Otter just knew you'd come, he knew it. We kept saying she's not coming, she's not coming, but Otter just says relax, she'll come, deep in my heart I know she wants to, and here you are, and this is just so awesome!" He was talking a mile a minute, his blue eyes dancing wildly.
I nodded and smiled softly, a little lost for words. He was like a much younger version of Enakai in every way.
"Johnny, Johnny..." Enakai laughed, slapping the boy on the shoulder. "Go get some food. And...I'm betting Miss Malia would love to tackle some of the appetizers herself. Even got you some tuuuuuuna-feesh."
I rolled my eyes and giggled. "Oh no...you didn't."
The other students all laughed and gathered around us, quickly shaking my hand or grabbing me by the shoulders and pulling me in for tight hugs. By the time introductions were through, my head was spinning. But at least the headache was gone.
I was pushed rather roughly towards the appetizer table and for the first time I realized that Enakai had certainly gone all out for the party. There were, besides small tuna-fish sandwich wedges, beautiful sushi rolls in seaweed in various colors and designs, succulent whitefish fillets steaming in melted butter, huge crab legs, clams on the half-shell, lobster tails in a row on a silver platter, and a large ceramic dish with beluga caviar.
"Wow..." I marveled. "It's like a seafood paradise..."
Johnny grinned as he selected a lobster-tail for his nearly-full plate. "I know, right? You love seafood too, right? I bet you do. Enakai's got a feeling about you, being so close to the ocean and all, right?" He then shoved the lobster-tail, shell and all, into his mouth and started crunching down on it, still talking somehow. "Best stuff, good feesh, Otter really knows what we love, he really does, and you'll know too, oh I'm so jealous of you, first time and all..."
"Johnny," Enakai was at his side again and grasped him by the arm. "You're talking too much, son. Go on, go sit down with the others and let's let Lani have a moment's peace. She's got to be famished."
Johnny nodded readily, and the goofy smile never left his face as he bounded away with his plate and plunked it down at the table, scooting a chair in to eat with the others rather noisily.
Enakai turned and looked at me, his expression apologetic. "You'll have to forgive him but let me just speak for all of us, we're so glad you could come. Me most of all..." He took both my hands into his until I was looking up at him then smiled broadly. "Come on, let's eat and then the cake should be here and then I'm hoping the lovely wahine would allow an old otter like me to dance with her..."
I bit my bottom lip and then nodded. "I would love that so much..." I giggled and squeezed his hands. "And you're not that old, you know..."
He bat an eye at me. "Well, okay maybe not that old." For the first time, his smile faded a little. "I've been...watching you a lot, Lani. You're an extremely precocious and level-headed girl. I've noticed you really get into my lectures too. Straight A's on my tests. You've got so much promise as a historian if you wanted to go that route. I...I know it's your first year still, but...do you have any plans at all for what you want to do in life?"
It was the first time he and I had ever talked like this. True, we'd sometimes chat some after class, but it was usually about a question I had, a homework assignment, or a discrepancy on a test. I didn't really, honestly think about ever just talking to him. I was having so many private fantasies and wet dreams about him, that maybe I felt it'd be uncomfortable talking to him about myself or my life.
I shrugged as I selected one of everything from the appetizer menu and followed him to the other table. "I haven't really decided yet. I know I love fashion a lot. My mother seems to think I'd make a great designer." My heart pounded some as I noticed him from behind and the fantasies started anew. He'd made no attempt to do anything with his hair tonight, and it cascaded down almost to mid-back. The t-shirt he wore had worked up his hips just enough for some dark skin to show, and his jeans fit a little too snug, giving me a hint of what had to be a trim, taut ass beneath. I ran my tongue across dry lips before sitting down across from him, trying to get my heart to stop thumping.
"The first year is always like that, my wahine," Enakai smiled, popping a sushi roll into his mouth. "Students come in, start feeling things out, asking 'What do I want to do, who do I want to be?' They get caught up in a rush of buzzing activity, surrounded by choices to make. And everything looks so good they can't decide. It's a waste, really. That's why I try to grab a hold of the more talented and promising freshmen and shake them around a little, feel them out, get an idea what they want to do..."
I became lost in his eyes as I nodded absently to his rattling. I knew exactly what he was talking about though. How many kids came into the university their first year, and wound up going for something completely different than they planned, attracted by another field or industry?
Probably millions.
We ate together while the other kids excitedly chatted to one another, and I noticed they were all just the same as Johnny was - high-strung, very excited, and so...happy. Every so often, I'd catch them bouncing up and down in their chairs, or bobbing their heads, their eyes wide and so shiny. And when they'd pause to take a few big bites of seafood, they made the same little noises that I'd heard from Enakai that afternoon in the cafeteria - a soft, yet distinguished purring, like how a cat might sound if you rub its fur in just the right way.
Enakai must have noticed my attention focused on the kids because he reached for my hand on the table, drawing my gaze back to his eyes. "You want to dance for a little bit? They have some great music here, and I'm sort of the odd otter out, as you can see..."
I finished the rest of my food and then nodded. I saw nothing wrong with any of this, and I was anxious to have Enakai to myself for a while. It didn't matter to me that he was at least twice as old as I was. Before I could get up, he was around behind me, pulling my chair out and taking my hand to help me up. I got in a quick wave over my shoulder to the other students watching with their shiny eyes and smiles, and then was led to the large, lighted dance floor.
We didn't get too close, not even when a slow-dance song came on, but enjoyed the music and watching one another move. At one point, I did a playful hula dance for him, something I remembered from my childhood years growing up in Oahu, and he clapped and whistled appreciatively, drawing a lot more eyes towards me. Pretty soon, the seniors joined us and I found it difficult to keep Enakai in sight after that. When the girls weren't all clamoring around him for a turn to dance, the guys were busy trying to get him to mimic their dancing, or challenge him to a stepping contest.
My head was starting to pound again and I sat down at a bar stool away from the dance floor. I wasn't used to the night life, and I'd never been comfortable inside the confines of loud, heavy music and bright, blinding lights. Enakai noticed me holding my forehead and quickly pulled away from the girl he was dancing with, coming up to me and taking my hand.
"Wahine," he said gently, "Are you alright?"
I managed a smile. "I think so. I'm not used to...well...all of this."
Enakai nodded and gestured to the front of the club. "Want to get some air for a while, and we can say goodnight?"
I agreed and started to follow him, stopping briefly at the dance floor to say goodnight to the seniors. All of them were sad to see me go but hugged me tightly, bouncing up and down, saying they hoped to see me in school soon. I felt like I'd acquired six BFFs at once.
Enakai and I walked outside and into the warm June evening. Moonlight fell across the white graveled lot behind the club, and a small patch of fog had settled, making the whole scene surreal and ghostly. Enakai slipped an arm around my shoulders and guided me towards the parked cars. "Really glad you could come tonight, Lani," he said quietly as we walked.
"Oh, I'm glad too, Otter. This was so much fun. My best night I've had since I got here. I just wish-oh DAMMIT!" We'd gotten to my car, and right away I knew I was in trouble. I'd left the headlights on - they were practically faded and quite dim. Enakai followed me as I dashed to the driver's-side door and jammed my keys into the ignition, still cursing.
Dead. The starter wouldn't even click.
"Fuck..." I hissed through my teeth and looked apologetically up at Enakai leaning in. "And I don't have any jumper cables either..."
Enakai was still all smiles. "Relax, wahine, I'll take you home. It's the least I can do. After all, it's my fault you're here in the first place, so let me make amends. Then I'll come back, we'll get your car started for you, and bring it back to you right as rain."
I had my cellphone and auto insurance. I could have easily speed-dialed the company and have them send out someone. I could have called my mother and ask her to come get me. I could have done just about anything else but...
Instead I nodded at Enakai's logic and got out of the car, sighing as I slammed the door shut. My head was really throbbing now. "Alright, Otter. I really appreciate that so much..."
Enakai grinned and took my hand into his again. "My car's just over here..." We walked several feet towards a row of rather exotic looking cars, Porsches, Alfa Romeros, and Corvettes, and he led me over to a bright red convertible Lamborghini, and pushed the "unlock" button on his keys.
"Th-this one...?"
Even in the darkness, I could see Enakai flush noticeably. "Yah. My pride and joy. I've only had it a few months or so, so I'm still trying to figure out what all the fancy buttons do. Hop in."
I snickered and got into the car. Enakai gave the dream machine a little too much gas and spun out in a spray of gravel. I grabbed for the dashboard and waited for my queasiness to pass as he wheeled past some startled patrons, nearly knocked into a signpost and then darted out without looking into two lanes of traffic.
"Sorry, sorry!" he yelled over his shoulder at the chorus of horns blaring behind him. Then he reached over to pet my leg. "Still not used to the girl yet, sorry wahine..."
I cinched the seat-belt a little tighter around me but I laid my hand over his. "It's fine." And it really was - already I was feeling better as the Lamborghini's headlights cut through the misty darkness. "My place is West Park, off Tyler."
Traffic thinned out as we approached a side road and Enakai paused at a stop sign.
"Hey, since it's on the way, how would you like to stop by my place a sec?" Enakai started to rattle off again, "I want to give you a few things anyway, and I'd forgotten to bring them tonight at the party. Just some stuff I give certain freshmen. A few workbooks, a handy rolodex of contacts to keep in touch with, good stuff you'll want for graduation time and job hunting for that career in fashion and all. Sound okay?"
"Um...uh, sure, I guess..." So, okay, I was going to the house of the person I've been fantasizing about for months. A man like him probably had a very jealous live-in girlfriend, or even a wife - though I'd never seen a ring on his finger. I didn't travel nearly 5,000 miles to be a home-wrecker. I had to ask. "Um...y-you're not married or anything...are you?"
Enakai tossed his gorgeous hair back from his eyes and laughed loudly. "Nono, this otter's been alone since he got here, really...in fact, you'll be the first woman I've had come home with me." He caught my look and quickly added, "Um...visiting my home, I mean. I just don't socialize much, Lani. No point. I don't get back from school til long after sundown, and I'm usually too tired grading and preparing all weekend for the week ahead. I'm working hard though so I can keep tenure after this first year, but thanks to kids like you, I think I'm a shoe-in."
Without waiting for me to respond, he wheeled the car down a side street and we continued in silence for a few miles until an affluent neighborhood of large homes loomed out of the distance. I looked out at the variety of statuesque mansions on either side of us, until the street ended at a cul-de-sac, and Enakai pulled up into a circular driveway.
"You live...here...?" I gasped, almost entranced. The light blue mansion we pulled up to was huge, two stories, with at least ten rooms on each floor, with three thick white marbled columns surrounding redwood double-doors.
Enakai stopped the car at the front sidewalk and thumbed the "unlock" switch on the door. "Yah, for about two months now. My, um...my family turned it over to me. They're sort of pineapple bigshots out in Hawaii, and they just thought I'd be more comfortable...with...this..."
I got out, nodding absently, still staring up at the large house. My marveled gaze lingered at the columns themselves, and I could see beautiful designs etched into the marble. They looked like otters, in various swimming and diving poses. I had to laugh. "Well, now I truly know why they call you "Otter", don't I, Mr. Jaffers?"
Enakai blushed as he noticed my gaze. "Oh those. Yah, um...sort of my own design. Do you like them?" He placed a friendly hand on my shoulder and squeezed.
I turned and smiled up at him, longing to get up on my toes to give him a kiss somehow. "They're just lovely..." We went inside and I was again immediately bowled over by the size of the living space, the great room, living room and dining room all managed to come together into an area large enough for 100 people to fit comfortably, and along the walls, I saw myriad paintings, and huge shelves filled with books, exotic-looking sculptures and antique knickknacks.
I was led throughout the first floor, marveling over the décor, listening indifferently as my companion rattled off about the origins, clever acquirements and deals he had gone through to obtain his show of wealth. Then he had me sit down again in the great room, on a large black leather sofa, while he excused himself and vanished down a wide hallway off the room. I waited some moments and he returned with his arms filled with books and papers, pretending to be off-balance. I quickly laughed and hopped off the couch to relieve him of some of the books.
"Oh my God, what is all this?!" I giggled as he dropped his whole bundle onto the couch.
Enakai grinned. "Like I said, all kinds of stuff I want you to have, from how to keep good grades, to good study habits, plus files, lots of files and study guides, and of course names and numbers and email address of some very prominent people I want you to connect with..." He watched me as I poured over the contents. I was so taken aback anyone would be so nice to me.
I couldn't help it. I straightened up from the sofa and turned to face him, hugging him tightly and pressing my face to his chest. "Thank you so much," I said, nearly in tears.
And I heard that soft purring sound again and his arms were coming around to hug me back. I felt his chin on the top of my head, rubbing gently through my hair.
"I'd do anything for you, my wahine," he whispered softly, then kissed the top of my head. "Come on, no tears. I'd love to show you around the house some more, and I'd especially love for you to see my second home. Afterwards, I'll make us each some nice drinks and then I'll take you home, okay?"
I looked up at him, still in the hug. "Your...second home? You mean, not the mansion?"
He laughed and pulled away, taking my hand. "I'll show you right now." We went through the hallway, past a long set of rooms until we came to a carpeted staircase heading down. At the bottom of the plush stairs, the double-glass doors opened to a hallway several feet long. We walked past a few more rooms filled with fitness and nautilus equipment, and then came to another set of glass doors. "Viola..." Enakai beamed and opened the doors with a flourish, allowing me inside first.
The pool was massive. To this day, I can't believe something so big could exist in Toronto. It was at least twice the size of a standard Olympic pool, and as we walked up to the stone deck and up to the water, I could tell it was deep. Extremely deep. I glanced nervously over the edge and saw a faint picture of another otter, created by colored stone tiles, on the bottom, maybe fifty feet or more down. There was something else in the water too. I stared wide-eyed as several types of fish swam to and fro through the depths, perfectly content it seemed. The smell of salt water was intoxicating.
It was as if Enakai had somehow had a section of the Pacific Ocean FedExed to his home.
"Like it, wahine?" He smiled and slipped an arm around me. "I'm here most of the time when I'm not at school. I just really love the water so much, and I missed the beaches in Hawaii so...I sort of made my own ocean..."
I gazed at the beautiful water, as crystal clear as the scuba-diving paradises you'd find in Waikiki and Honolulu. "I love it..." I replied breathlessly, still in awe. I was so busy admiring the aquatic wonder, I didn't notice Enakai let go of me, undressing down to his undershorts and diving in, until I heard a loud splash and I could see his form as he swam beneath the water.
I sat on the pool's edge, removing my pumps, and let my feet and legs dangle in. The water was unbelievably warm and silky. It felt like the Pacific.
Enakai swam back up to the surface and splashed me. I shielded my eyes and chuckled, getting up from the edge. "Maybe I should let you alone so you can swim," I said nervously, "I can call my mom to come get me, if you want..."
"Well," he swam to the edge and looked up at me. "Tell you what. Give me about five minutes to get some laps in. You know you're free to join me if you want to..."
I bit my lip hard. "I...didn't bring a swimsuit..." God, that sounded so lame.
"So swim in your undies. I promise not to look." He put his hands over his eyes playfully, and that was when I noticed something odder still. It could have been a trick of the lights, I thought then, but his fingers had changed. The natural webbing we all display between each digit, on him, had expanded upwards, and now nearly filled the recesses between his fingers.
I smiled widely, realizing I was stepping towards the water again. "Well...I really don't know about this, Enakai. I don't-"
His hand suddenly snaked forwards, grasping my leg, and before I could cry out, I fell face-first with a loud smack into the water. I was immediately disoriented and water was all around me. I kicked hard and struggled back to the surface, coughing a little from the plunge. "Otter!" I yelled and grabbed blindly for the edge of the pool, catching my breath. "Dammit, look what you did! My cellphone!" I reached into my pockets but the smart-phone was gone.
I dipped my head under the water, trying to see if I could find it floating down, but it was nowhere in sight. I sighed and pulled myself out of the water again, sitting down on the edge and wiping my eyes, filled with a mixture of the natural water and my own tears over the loss of a $200 phone.
"I'm soooo sorry, wahine," Enakai swam up to the edge, and I heard his strange purr again. "I'll find it, I'll find it right now, don't you worry!" With that, he took in air and rolled forward and down. I watched, transfixed, as his form swam deeper and deeper, until it was nearly lost against the tiles. I waited for him to stop looking, and to come back up for air, because it seemed like he was underwater a really long time. I watched him move from one end of the pool to the other, and then finally he wiggled his body and started swimming back up, holding something in his hand.
"Tah-daaah!" he gasped as his head popped to the surface and held the phone out to me. I took it worriedly and turned it on. It still worked! I reminded myself to send a letter to the Galaxy phone people. They'd never believe it.
"Thank you, Otter," I sighed, deeply relieved and walked towards one of the tables, setting the phone down. "Look, I'm going to go, okay? I'm freezing and all wet..."
"Oh, please, wahine, don't go...swim with me?" He rolled over onto his back and I could see a definite dark erection in his white boxers, sculpted almost transparent from the water. "Come on...just for a little while, and I'll take you home, I promise..."
I don't know what I was thinking. I was with someone whom I really cared about, and had had such a crush on, and here he was practically naked in a beautiful pool, wanting his lovely island girl to join him. I sighed deeply and started to unbutton my soaked blouse, slipping it over my head. "Alright...just...a little while..."
I undid my jeans and Enakai actually turned around in the water, not looking as he had promised. When I was down to just my wet panties and bra I stepped to the edge and sat down, working myself slowly into the water, keeping my hands on the edge. I couldn't help but giggle at Enakai's antics. "Okay, I'm in..." I splashed him and he opened eyes to smile widely at me.
"Good, good," he said and then dove down again, swimming off towards the other end of the pool underwater. I took a breath and dunked my head again, watching him go, and let out a quick cry.
Enakai had a tail now.
It was long and almost prehensile, thick where it protruded just above the back of his shorts, and tapered to a slightly narrow point at the tip. It swayed back and forth as he went. I watched spellbound as Enakai swam up to the end of the pool and pushed off, swimming back towards me, and I hastily surfaced and started to swim for the edge of the pool, convinced I'd been seeing things, perhaps just shadows from the underwater lights.
But before I could reach the ladder and pull myself out, I felt something around my foot and I was stopped in my tracks, trying desperately to tread water. I started to scream and then I was jerked hard downward. I barely got a breath as I struggled to see through the dark water and looked into the face of a monster. I cried out, swallowing water, staring into the eyes of what looked to be an otter's face, with bristly brown fur encasing a button nose and short whiskers. I instinctively struck out, trying to break free of the creature's grip, and felt myself being pulled deeper. My ears popped as the pressure of the pool depths went from ten feet to twenty feet or more in less than a few seconds.
My lungs were starting to ache. I hadn't taken a deep breath when I was yanked down, and I had never been much for scuba diving back in Hawaii. I jerked my body back and forth, losing my bra in the process, and used all my might to break free of this watery beast. I kicked hard, shoving my foot against its stomach and pushing off, swimming back up several feet to take a lungful of air.
Panic-stricken, I immediately started swimming for the edge again but before I could, the creature's head popped up in front of me with a toothy grin.
"Where are you going, wahine?" it spoke to me, and it was Enakai's voice, though it sounded more gravelly and throaty. I gasped and found myself too frightened and tired to tread water any longer and I began to sink. The otter-man's arms leaned forward and quickly caught me, and I found myself pressed against warm and wet fur. I trembled, staring into this creature's strange blue eyes, now more circular instead of almond-shaped, and each one held a little twinkle.
"En...Eh...Enakai...?" I breathed softly, completely astounded. Without even thinking about it, I reached a hand forward and pressed my fingers gently against his nose. In response, I received a warm, very soothing churring sound, and I could feel his body vibrating against mine with the force of them.
"I know I probably have a lot of explaining to do..." he said, giving my fingers a lick.
I didn't know what to say. I just nodded wordlessly, my eyes as big as saucers. Underneath the water, I could feel more warmth pressed against my bare stomach, and I realized he was naked, and it was this creature's sex; long, plump and thick flesh pushing out from between his legs, at least seven inches of lust. Unintentionally, I licked my lips, feeling suddenly very warm and aroused. The weight of his sex felt so good against my bare skin, and I fought the wicked temptation to bring my hand down to caress it, as I would have with any other lover.
"Lani," he leaned his head towards mine and gently brushed his wet nose against my cheek. "I've watched you, you know. For many months now. I...I wasn't sure if I should share my secret with you, but somehow I think I can trust you, wahine. I've..." His words faltered for a moment, and then he looked steadily into my eyes - and I didn't feel afraid. "I've smelled you...so often. The want, the need...the...desire you have for me. All I can think about is you lately, wahine." He churred and I felt his webbed paws caressing my back slowly. "Only you..."
I could feel the ache for him starting again inside me, at least three times as powerful as before, and I wondered if it was possible for him to sense the arousal between my legs, even from underwater. His next words answered my thoughts, as if he knew.
"Yes, wahine...I can still smell you..." Enakai chuckled and his bristled whiskers wiggled up and down. "In fact..." He suddenly dipped his head down and I felt his paws going for my panties.
I laughed, squirming and ticklish, and then I felt my panties sliding down my waist and thighs, and finally around my feet and toes. I hardly had a chance to say a word before I felt the most sensational feeling next. Enakai buried his warm, furry muzzle between my legs, and I cried out in intense pleasure as he started to tongue my aroused folds, dipping it in and out past my clit, warm and wet intrusions that caused my walls to clench repeatedly.
I don't know how long Enakai stayed underwater, but at one point, he pulled at my legs until I sank down underneath, and I fought to hold my breath, grabbing at his head, tangling my fingers into his long, floating head-hair and allowing him to continue. Soon I had a death-grip on his head and I let out a loud, bubbly scream as I came about as hard as a woman could. My body spasmed several times, my head jerking back and forth, as I enjoyed one hot and heavy orgasm after another. When I had finally came down from my climax, I tried to kick weakly away from his arms to go back for air, but he enfolded me tightly against his body and swam me to the surface, both of us panting hard and shivering anew.
"Oh...my God..." I breathed heavily, trying to see straight again. Cumming underwater had dulled my vision, and I still could see red stars before my eyes. "Oh God...En...Enakai...th-that was so..." I shuddered hard and wrapped my arms around him tightly, nearly crying.
"You're alright, Lani," he said gently against my ear, "I've got you...shhh..." I lifted my head from his shoulder to look into his eyes again and he smiled. "Want to kiss?"
I bit at my lip and nodded, leaning my head towards his, tilting it to the left and opening my mouth against his larger, fang-filled mouth and allowing our tongues to entwine briefly in an erotic dance. This had always been my fantasy, to have Enakai hold me, and kiss me, and make love to me, and...well, alright, so he was an otter now. It didn't change the lust I had, nor did it stop me from doing what I did after our long, engaging kiss.
I smiled softly at him, my eyes filled with promise, and then ducked under the water, marveling at his mustelid sex. I sexily blew bubbles over the spire of hard flesh in several bursts for as long as I could keep air in my lungs, then surfaced again to see a dreamy, dazed look in Enakai's eyes now.
"Oh please God, don't stop, island-girl..." he whimpered, and I laughed, dipping my head back down. With all the care I could, I surrounded the thick bulbous tip with my lips and pushed my head forwards, taking a few inches of his sex and suckling it hard. I felt his body jerk against me and then a sweet taste of the creature's pre-cum touched my tongue. It tasted so much like pineapple juice. I hungrily suckled more of his length, fighting the urge to push off and swim up for air. Too soon though, my lungs couldn't take anymore deprivation and I pulled my mouth off of his hardness, coming back up to the surface and coughing.
"Couldn't..." I spat water from my mouth and coughed again. "I...I wanted...to...make...you cum, and..."
Enakai nuzzled me softly, and his churrring was much louder than ever before. "Take a deep breath, wahine..." he whispered to me, "take the deepest breath you can..."
We looked at each other and I started to hyperventilate several times. On his word, I was suddenly pushed onto my back and underwater, and then Enakai was diving with me, holding me against his chest in a tight hug. I burbled and my legs clung around his strong waist, feeling his powerful body flex, pulling at the water as he stroked us down deeper and deeper. I looked over his shoulder, past his rudder-like tail, seeing the surface of the water looking so far away, and I could feel panic started to set in.
My lungs were still full but my ears were aching as he finally dove us all the way to the bottom. I felt the cool tiles against my bare back, and then he was positioning himself. With my legs still wrapped around him, he pushed himself against me, thrusting the full weight of his enormous sex into me in one hard push. I bubbled hard against his mouth, suddenly crying out in a mixture of agonizing pain and ecstatic pleasure as he buried his length into me, fucking me wildly on the pool bottom as I fought like mad to hold air in my lungs.
I shook hard all over, my hips trying to raise up from the bottom to meet his hard thrusts, trying to get him so deep into me. After several thrusts, we had been underwater at least two minutes and my lungs were no longer aching, but burning. I needed air. I mmphed and bubbled against him again, no longer able to hold my breath, and he answered with forceful grunts, pounding into my body.
Oh God, I'd never get to the surface in time! I beat at his back with my fists, trying in vain to get him off of me, and then he was cumming, cumming so hard and so long, everything just stopped. It was the most incredible feeling, like flushing my sex completely with hot, silky fluid. Instantly I was seizing him around my walls, clenching his creaming shaft over and over, milking his love into me as deep as it could go.
I gave one last bubbly whimper, and then all the air left my lungs and was ready to inhale water and drown. Instead though, Enakai's mouth suddenly came to mine, clamping tightly around my lips, and then I felt a sudden rush of air against my tongue and teeth. Greedily, I wrapped my arms around his head, drinking of his life-giving air until my lungs were full again. He smiled down at me and nuzzled my face, and then he was pulling away from me, grasping at my hand and guiding me back up.
It took quite a while for us to reach the surface and we were both coughing and spitting water. I grabbed onto him, still trembling, my vaginal walls still pouring out copious amounts of my own cum to make up for the incredible intrusion they had had.
"Oh...Enakai...I...I..." I looked into his eyes again, drawn to them, and suddenly I no longer felt fear or uncertainty. "Ohhh...my God...can...can we...can we..." I finally got my breath. "Can we do that again, that was so amazing, I've never been so deep before, and that was just so hot and I couldn't stop cumming even though my lungs were hurting and underwater sex is so fantastic and..."
I didn't realize I was rattling incessantly, just like Enakai had always done with me.
He listened patiently and then giggled, nodding. "We can...and we always will, wahine..." He looked away for a moment, as if thinking about something really intently, then shook his head and smiled widely, rattling. "Come on, we'll take really deep breaths this time, and we'll stay underwater a really long time this time and I'll see if I can get you to cum more than once and..."
I was already hyperventilating between giggles, nodding excitedly.
There was something happening to me. It wasn't just a warm feeling but...something else. I felt my whole body tingling. I thought at the time perhaps it was just the afterglow of our love-making, or the excitement of sharing another bout of raw, passionate animal sex on the bottom. But then I didn't think about it anymore.
When we went down the next time, I chanced a look over Enakai's shoulder as he dove us down again and saw his thick, expressive ruddertail swaying back and forth like a serpent.
And just underneath it...
I saw my own...
**
Enakai and I have been together about six months now. As it turned out, we couldn't keep our romantic relationship a secret for very long and the impressionable administration at the University of Toronto was quick to deny Enakai's request for tenure. But everything turned out alright anyhow. We're living together at his mansion and planning a return trip in a few weeks back to Hawaii.
And the ocean...
Enakai says we belong there anyway and I agree. Besides, I've decided to switch my major. Fashion design was really more for my mom's benefit anyway, sort of a way to continue a tradition. Now I want to be a marine biologist. I even already have a possible internship with a vessel stationed in the South Pacific, studying a new sea otter colony just discovered in Oahu.
I had to laugh when they insisted I take scuba-diving lessons. I can stay underwater at least 20 minutes now without the gear - not that they need to know that, of course...
Otter just came back into the bedroom after a swim in our pool. God, he looks so beautiful. His gorgeous tail bobs playfully up and down, splashing remnants of the man-made Pacific across dark brown fur and down his legs to perfect webbed feet. Behind his deep blue eyes, I can tell he wants to make love. I wink at him, just as aroused as he is. The water does that to us both, I think.
'What do I want to do, who do I want to be?' They get caught up in a rush of buzzing activity, surrounded by choices to make. And everything looks so good they can't decide...' Otter had told to me that day in the cafeteria, the day that changed my life forever.
I made my choice and I decided. And I'm just so...happy...
I'm always happy now. No matter what the world gives me, I just seem to take it all in stride. To see me now, in the hallways at school, you'd never really notice but I have a bounce in my step, and a bob to my head I didn't have before. And every so often, you might hear a little churring sound coming from me when I'm especially pleased about something...
God yes, life is so wonderful to me now...
Oops, I need to go.
I think my Otter wants his wahine to join him for a swim... <3
