"Fuck morality and every thing I know,
If I didn't hate this then I couldn't go,
Impersonate myself for what I used to be,
Denial is all that's left now." - Spine Shank ~ "New Disease"
Chapter 5 - Breaking Away
Aiden and Chade sat upon the roof of the highest building in Mathuul, which was of course, the high tower of the Palace. They watched as the clouds passed before the stars, the moon sending silver rays to the sleeping earth below. Aiden sighed and sat up, staring out over the plains to the mountains beyond. He wanted to be there, far away from everything and everyone. But he would never have that opportunity...
'And why not?' Asked Chade.
'Why not what?' Returned Aiden, slightly annoyed at Chade's interruption.
'Why can't you be there? Be free?'
Aiden laughed and shook his head in confusion. 'Because we're slaves. Well... I am. You're a part of me I suppose, so that makes you one as well.'
Chade was silent for a time before chuckling and shrugging Aiden's shoulders.
'I am slave to no one. Let us be gone from this city. It holds nothing for us now. It's what we used to be. We are free by our own minds. Let us go...' Chade faded away to let Aiden think it over.
Aiden sighed again before standing up, his black cloak billowing about him. He moved to the edge of the building and looked at the sprawling city before him. He could smell the scents from the late night vendors, the taverns, and otherwise. With a small smile he stepped off the edge. The wind whipped about him, his cloak like wings. His paw slid under his shirt and onto the talisman. Mere feet from the ground, he disappeared, leaving only a small cloud of dust from where he should have fallen.

Lilth waited in an alley across the street from the tavern. The mole had to come out sooner or later, and this was the only way out, unless he decided to dig. Which was highly unlikely, for he was an excessively lazy figure. Soon though, a carriage would arrive to bear him to his villa and to safety. Or so he thought. The doors opened, and as Lilth had suspected, he was extremely drunk, needing the help of several large people to help him into the carriage. Lilth waited for the people to move back into the building before flitting quickly across the roughly cobbled street and leaping onto the back of the carriage, just as it started forward.
"Driver! Move faster! I am near death back here!" The mole cried.
Normally, moles and the like were a kind and generous people. This one though, he was a much different story. His paws were wrist deep in as many pies as he could plunder, and the number rose daily. Lilth had acquired the contract on the mole's life from an old friend, though they seldom spoke, even when together. The carriage took a sharp turn, causing the mole to curse the driver. Lilth heard a mutter from the front over the sound of the horses and the carriage. She waited for a couple minutes before drawing a small envelope and opening it gently. Snaking her paw through the back window, she tossed the contents into the enclosed area and jumped off, rolling to a stop and springing up, instinctively heading toward the closest shadows.
Inside the carriage, the mole began to cough, the pollen of the Last Breath already beginning to take effect. The mole held a handkerchief to his muzzle, and coughed again. He looked at the piece of cloth in his paws and blinked in confusion. Blood spotted the silk, turning a dark crimson in the heat. He began coughing again, his insides feeling like they were on fire. Blood gushed forth from his mouth as his lungs, already weakened by the pollen, ripped from the strain. Unable to scream, the mole died, drowned in his blood.
Lilth was far away while this was happening; she stopped to catch her breath at the foot of the temple of Termon, the god of assassins. She turned, looking up the street, and nearly fell back from surprise when the assassin she had met earlier appeared in a small gust of wind, shadows fleeing from him as if steam. She slipped behind a statue of Termon's servant, Faldan, and watched him move swiftly in her direction.
"I know this, Chade... I am going to the Temple to perform my absolutions before we leave this place... This city..." He paused as if listening to someone. "Why? Because I have to believe in something... No matter how impossible it might be, there's always that last bit of hope to keep me, us, going." Another pause. "That depends... I'm sure we'll figure it out."
Lilth was confused. She wondered if perhaps he was a psychic. She started to move away quietly but a bit of trash left there impeded her way and she stumbled. She turned hoping that the assassin had not heard, but saw that he was not there. Lilth thought that he had maybe went into the temple. She turned to move away but stopped suddenly as he appeared from the air before her.
"Spying does not become you..."A cold voice issued from inside the hood. "Why were you there...?" Chade asked, stepping closer to the shadows.
"I was not spying, I was sitting when you... appeared..." She said defiantly, bringing a chuckled from the hooded one.
"Very well... But you have seen much that I would rather... Not be spoken of..." Chade paused. "I shall have to kill you... A pity... You were a good one..." A dagger suddenly appeared at Lilth's neck, the assassin suddenly behind her.
A Peace Keeper turned the corner and saw Lilth and the knife at her neck. He moved forward, pulling a large whip from his side, the tip glowing evilly.
"Release her, or die." He said, moving forward.
Chade sighed and leaned in next to Lilth's ear. "Perhaps not on this night... There are other things worth pursuing. Lilth, still shaken by how he had seemed to disappear nodded weakly. There was a small puff of wind and the Peace Keeper stopped in alarm.
"Where did they go?" He asked, moving closer to Lilth. Lilth shook her head and pointed at her throat. "So you're mute?" She nodded. "Well then... Perhaps we can have some fun then..." He said touching her with a small rod about the size of a pen.
Darkness took Lilth's mind and she fell into a deep sleep. The Peace Keeper looked around and shouldered her easily, moving off into the shadows.
Chade and Aiden watched from atop the statue of Faldan.
'Well... It seems that we need not worry about our little... spy...'
'We're going to get her.' Aiden replied, leaping from the statue onto the street and rolling into the shadows after the Peace Keeper.
'You do know that the Prince will not be happy with the death of one of his Peace Keepers?' Chade's thoughts were filled with anger at having his prey taken.
'Yes... But we don't work for him, now do we?'
'I see your point... But what shall we do when we get her free?' Chade asked, wondering at Aiden's motive behind freeing her.
'Take her with us.' Aiden felt Chade sigh and move further back into the depth of his mind.
With a partial shrug, he continued after the Peace Keeper, not wanting to gain too much for fear that the rhino would hear him. They had bad sight, but their hearing was top notch. He knew that he and Chade could take him, he just didn't want to. It didn't seem worth it to kill another person, though, he thought, it would liven Chade up some. With another shrug, he decided he would let Chade handle the brute.

When Lilth awoke, she found that she had been blindfolded, gagged, and that her arms and legs had been tied, her tail now in the air. She thrashed, trying to free herself, but to no avail. A moment passed and a door opened, the sound of heavy footsteps came close, followed by a pair of somewhat lighter ones and the obvious 'clop' of a horse.
"Well Karad, what do ye think? A fine one, neh?" She recognized the voice to be that of the Peace Keeper.
"Aye, she's a sweet sight for one who hasn't had any for some time." Karad replied. She felt a paw upon her buttocks; it squeezed one cheek then the other. "Now there's a nice piece of ass, says I." She squirmed more as her pants were suddenly ripped from her body, her cloak and shirt quickly followed suit.
"I do like th' sight o' tha' tail." Lilth heard the equine say, his accent a giveaway. "Mind if I have a bit 'o a go on tha' lass, Tsuri?"
"By all means, I brought her here as a treat for ye boys." He added a moment later. "As well as one for myself." He laughed loudly at this.
Suddenly many paws were upon her, clutching her breasts, a digit slipping into her slit, and one even into her anus. She fought to escape but that only seemed to make the males all the more happy to touch her.
"I want first go!" A voice cried, much lighter than the others.
"Sure thing wee one, ye ought to have a go while it be tight like this." Tsuri said. "Go ahead Skeld, she won't bit you. At least, not while she's got that gag." They laughed again.
Lilth shuddered as she felt the paws leave her, just to be replaced with smaller ones. A small time passed as the creature explored her body with its paws, giggling here and there. After a time it became bored with touching and Lilth felt it behind her.
"Go ahead Skeld." One said. She wasn't sure which.
Suddenly, she felt the head of a member at her cleft, shivered as it entered her. Skeld began to speed up, his cock driving deeper and deeper into her. Finally, she felt him tense up and come with a small cry.
She held back the tears, wanting this to end. She heard the others congratulating Skeld on his job.
"Well, now tha' she is a wee bit looser, who be next?" The equine asked.
"Go ahead Seanol, have yer fun." Tsuri said. Lilth smelled the ale that was being poured.
Through all of this, Lilth was nearly in tears, her body shaking from the strain of trying to escape the ropes and her captors. She tried to think of other things, to block out the events taking place. Her concentration held for a time while Seanol moved over her body slowly, his large tongue slipping between her nether lips and inside her before moving upward and circling around the rim of her anus. She squirmed, trying to escape him, but failed as his tongue pushed its way inside her rectum, the pain flooding her body as she was stretched. After what seemed an eternity, he withdrew his tongue. Her relief was shattered when his member suddenly thrust into her, impaling her. She screamed behind the gag as she felt it move deeper, pushing against her cervix until it pushed through. She screamed again.
"Well now Seanol, that's quite a reaction you've got from the lass." Tsuri laughed, the rest laughed as well. She bit down on the gag against the pain. Seanol pulled out then thrust roughly into her again, building speed, and drawing a scream each time. Seanol grunted and pulled out, Lilth feeling as if she had been ripped in two. She thanked Termon and all the pantheon of gods and goddesses. She felt the head of his enormous cock at her anus and shook her head, silently begging. The head slipped inside and she cried out. It moved further, until at last, his entire length was in her. She felt his skin, wet with her juices for a moment before he pulled most of the way out and pushed back in. Seanol moaned deeply, his large frame shaking. Suddenly he came. It filled her, unable to escape for his large girth. It continued to fill her, pain once again running through her body.
Seanol moaned one last time before pulling away, his seed pouring from her and down her legs.
Lilth's breathing came in gasps, agony coursing through her. The males laughed and congratulated Seanol, who Lilth could hear breathing hard.
"Aye! Now tha' is an ass tha' I could get used to." He replied when he had caught his breath.
"Well then. Now that our boy Seanol has had 'is turn, I think I'll 'ave a go m'self." Tsuri said. She heard him move behind her, felt his hands on her waist. She passed out just as he drove his cock into her.

Chade took over as soon as Aiden heard other voices in the room. He sniffed the air, and listened.
'There are three people in the room...' He told Aiden. 'Do you wish me to kill them all?'
'Yes... Kill all but the female...' Aiden replied, his mind full of rage at what they were doing to her.
'And so it begins...' Chade said, kicking in the door.
The Peace Keeper Tsuri was in the middle of thrusting into Lilth, blood dripped from her, into a puddle of bodily fluids. Chade spared no thought to anything save his mission. Two daggers slid into his paws and he jumped at Tsuri, who, still recovering from surprise, cried out in fear as this Shadow Cat leapt at him. Chade's daggers slammed into the rhino's head, through his thick skull, and into the small brain. With a twisting motion of both wrists, the blades snapped cleanly off. Tsuri suddenly realized he was going to die, and did so promptly, falling heavily to the floor.
Chade removed the blindfold from Lilth's eyes as he moved into the corner.
"Ye made a bad move, now ye shall die for it." Seanol said, moving toward him with a large club. Chade began to laugh, his whisper voice like nothing Seanol had ever heard before. In the back of his mind, Seanol began to fear the small creature that had so easily dispatched his friend. Tsuri had been the most dangerous person he had ever met and now before him, stood Death incarnate it seemed. Without warning, Chade disappeared and left Seanol looking at an empty corner.
Chade pulled a small vial from his pocket and pulled the stopper from it. He flung the liquid on Seanol's back, who screamed in pain and suddenly died, his body convulsing wildly.
Skeld was at the door when a thin spike hit him square in the back of the neck, severing his spinal cord. The rat died quickly, and to Chade's displeasure, not in pain.
Chade shivered and stretched happily, death being his medium. Aiden took his body back and let Chade relish in the afterglow of the experience.
He moved over to Lilth who stared at him with eyes wide with fear.
"Don't... Worry..." He said haltingly, "You're...safe now..."
He put one paw on Lilth's back and the other on the talisman of shadows and they disappeared into the shadows.

The moles body lay in a coffin, water dripping on the cheap wood and soaking through to his corpse. If one were to watch the body, one would have noticed the small shoot of a plant creeping out from a hole in the casket. The Last Breath plant budded, happily taking nourishment from the mole's blood and flesh.
